Wow, your locks were beautiful. I'm in the opposite path. Tired of wearing other people's hair on my head so locking it up.
Congrats!!!?
Me too! I Iike how you put that! I’m tired of wearing other people’s hair too!
People sacrifice their hair to other deities before they process it, and it gets to you. To put on your head. I know a lot of people don't know that, but there's a documentary on it. TMH says your hair is your crown and glory. There's a reason why our hair grows up towards the heavens.
Wow beautiful!! Hair looks great & healthy. Thank you for sharing. 😊😄
Yeah i was hoping she was going stay natural and not press it(to look like other ppl)
You look beautiful with both styles!
Phew! You are more patient than me because I would've shaved my head and started from 0! I totally get wanting a change though. I've never had locs but I do have very curly hair and every few years I get the itch to just cut it off because I just get tired of it or it starts to feel burdensome. One thing I won't do is be held hostage by hair!! I've never personally held emotional attachment to my hair because I didn't grow up in a household where people fussed over hair so chopping it off wasn't ever a big deal for me but my gosh did it seem to effect other people! I always say at the end of the day hair is just hair and as long as we're alive it'll keep growing back! You and your girls are beautiful btw!
Aw the locs were gorgeous ☹️
Yeah! I cut my long locs off in 2019 and I have regretted it ever since….i am now locing again and this time I will never cut them
Hehehehehe same here, cut off my almost 8years locs the last day of 2017... I kept it so I can reinstall them, when I was ready, I couldn't find them...
May 2023, I started locing again with less stress, it is going beautifully well...
My gosh you have A LOT of PATIENCE 😊
It took me 3 weeks to comb out my interlocs, if you don’t want to be a skinhead, it’s what you do!
Absolutely beautiful young woman in all stages, and you have the sweetest voice & patience of a saint.
Great results. Sometimes you just need a change. I also combed my locs out about 2 yrs ago. They were small locs and I think there were about 150 or so of them. It took me almost 2 months because I work full-time and I could only do it in my free time. So I took down the interior 1st and was able to pull it up and hide it for work. I needed a really good trim afterward but I didn't lose much hair. I'm glad I did it and it was so freeing ❤
Wow. Didn't know that was actually doable. How much length did you retain?
I'm confused...
You said the sister loc length was too much/long, but you put in a weave that is the same or longer...🙄
You are beautiful! Hopefully you (we as a people) will learn how beautiful, special and important our natural hair is....
Once you know, you will wear it loud and proud,...
It is the only hair that should be on our head.
Good luck on your new hair journey!
I was confused by the length thing too
Maybe extentions ? I was wondering IF the end was a Sew in. I rewinded twice , like huh ? Interesting tho - i Didn't knw it could be combed out.
Yes!! She could braided down her locs and have gotten a lace front.
Yeah I wondering about that length 🤔
It could be the weight of the locs.
Thank you for sharing these steps and the products and tools used. Wish me luck on my 6 year removal 😊❤🎉
I am on year 6 too and I totally get wanting to change your look….BUT, I think I will keep mine because it is the BEST hair decision ever….Good luck on your new journey……
I just took out my 200+ locs over the summer. It took around 3 mths. I loved my tiny locs but started experiencing thinning in several areas and some really bad knots that I couldn't close, so i removed them. I miss having them, I loved the look and convenience of them but they weren't worth losing hair over. If ever put them back in (no time soon)they definitely wont be as small, I'll go to a professional for the initial install and I wont take 3 mths to remove. I'll just let the hair grow out and slowly cut off the length. I felt like I worked a extra job all the countless hrs I put in removing them, never again😂
Ur daughters r so adorable beautiful
She looks like a princess 👑
Good luck on your new journey! When you cut your first loc on camera, I was worried bc I didn't think you realized how much you cut off (how it would shrink up afterwards!) You did your best though, and good for you deciding to adjust to your own needs by adding hair back in as your hair grows out. Other folks might not have shown that part of the video for fear of being judged - you are allowed to do your own thing and change your mind! Give it a year, your own hair will eventually even out and follow the path of your extensions. Beautiful!
I literally gasped at the first loc cut!
Your locs were very beautiful. But your hair now looks nice as well. As long as you’re happy! (But I am so jealous of the locs you had and wish I had some 😂)
Y'all in the comments are crazy. She wanted a change, big deal. The locs were nice but her hair now is beautiful too!
Keep doing you sis!!!!! People will always have sumthin' to say 🙄
Well, that's to be expected... I mean, she put it out to the public. Therefore, people will always have something to say! 🤷🏽♀️
Why are there always "I'm so shocked by all the negative comments" comments even when there's actually very little to no negative comments at all ?
I was thinking you shouldbhave had your aunties and cousins over. Instead of a quilting bee you vould have a had a de-locking bee! After 6 years a change is good. I am so thankful Dr Joanne came up with the concept!
I must commend you on your patience! You are beautiful before and after.
The ending was EVERYTHING ✨🥹🤩🤗😌
I preferred the locs...
Your hair looks healthy 👍🏾 ❤
OMG! You are so gorgeous either way. ♥
I have regular sized locs and I am ready for a change as well. I’ve been wearing them for 10 years
Even though how you feel is what matters the most, I respect your decision entirely and the end results are shunning. I hope you’re having the most fun with you’re new change 🥳
Your hair is beautiful before and after. And your daughters are adorable.
I would have shaved my head, rather than take a month pulling that style out. I don’t have time for that. I commend your patience, though!!! 💚
That first cut ... 😮 I was like that's a lot, but remembered you said it was longer than you wanted.
I want to comb out mine. Maybe in winter when I can wear hats to cover the process. It looks great. You have lovely hair.
I don't think I could find the patience to do all this.
What a family of beautiful girls/ women! Girrrl, from an older “girl”, but seriously, you all are such a beautiful family. I want to get my hair locked soon. Maybe “Sister locks”, not sure. What’s do you think?
I love your hair both ways. You’re gorgeous either way. ❤
I am about to take my locs out after 10 years.
Thanks for the tip on the conditioner
Thank you for sharing! I did not know that it was possible to remove Sister locs
Me either ❤
some of the backhanded compliments here are CRAZY
So beautiful. Talented stylist are hard to find these days
WOW the end result was very beautiful and it fits you well
Very beautiful outcome❤
I love you and your girls locs, so beautiful and healthy
Curious why you didn’t just cut the locs shorter versus remove ? No judgement from me just curious if there are other things you didn’t enjoy about having locs. I’ve heard a lot of people say their hair became healthier and longer and I’m guessing it’s because it’s a protective style. But personally I can’t imagine not having versatility.. although granted thin sister locs can be styled a lot more ways than regular locs
She didn't want locs!🤔
@@NickyM_0 ok I get that but she also complained about the length then goes and add long hair
Longer locs are more dense and heavier than weave. Plus a weave is temporary too. She may be used to long hair but didn’t want long heavy locs, it’s a huge transition so maybe this is her middle ground
@Goat4964 exactly!
@@Goat4964Exactly!
You’re so beautiful in body and spirit ❤ that shines through any hairstyle
I am with you. Change is good. I change my hair up every few years.
I love the new look! Sister locs were nice but sure you got tired of them. You now have more flexibility and doesn’t age you like the locs did.
I'm interested to know why you cut your locs and then got a weave of the same length. We're you looking for the versatility to take it out and rock other natural styles?
Question?
Why cut it down so low
Only to add hair
It probably would have taken twice as long to take out. Plus, her will grow back.
If locs are done with a 4-point rotation, there’s really no combing them out and retaining a lot of length.
BLESSINGS 2 U 12 YEARS FOR ME NO WAY FOR ME😊😊❤❤
Patience of Job I tell ya! It would've taken me another 6 years to take them out😅 The final outcome looks nice though.
you look beautiful with and without the locs
End results look great!
One month, that does take patience! U go girl !! I tried to comb out my medium sized locs some years ago for the military. I did two or 4 locs and ended up cutting them out hahaha talk about no hair patience that day hhh TWA was the way 😂
Go head on Dr. Smith❤❤ ❤❤
We be obsessed with the length, I tell u.
Yeah, that’s pretty common. Long hair is beautiful.
@@WilliamsPinchshort hair is gorgeous!
It came out so beautiful ❤ and I hope your girls still want to keep there’s because a lot of kids idolize their moms and they may say I want hair like that too.
You look great! I’m glad you kept going I would have given up. I’ve had mine over 22 years. They have been through a bunch of issues. I thought about combing them out too
That's amazing❤ 22 years
Your is so so pretty. It’s too let too tell the date was in 2023. It is so beautiful. God bless.
I took my locs down after 16 years. My profile pic was year 14. They were waist length and very happy.
Cutting Off Sister Locs Only To Get A Hair Weave Is Beyond Wild To Me🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ To Each Their Own.
Very pretty, you look amazing!!!
No more locs. Your natural hair is beautiful. Lengthy. Also beautiful lady.
I hope you saved them. My friend reattached after a few years. They were micro but sisterlocs though
Loved your locs! Sad to see them go.
What company did you order the kinky straight hair from? The blend was impeccable.
Wow just wow girl 😍🔥
Your voice is so relaxing
Killing me cutting your hair with regular scissors
🤣😂🤣
So beautiful either way ❤
Beautiful before and after ❤.
I combed mines out as well took a month and my hair was long and lovely like yours. I woke up one days and shaved my head bald and now I want them again. lol
It turned out amazing cheers to new hair.
Both styles look good. But you could also crochet or do a sew in with locs.
You look absolutely Gorgeous ❤❤❤
You are beautiful both ways, but i love the looks when you took them out
Love that your approach to your hair is so frivolous. I was beginning to think I was the only loc-head who didn't believe that locs hold energy and stuff. I also appreciate the editing of the whole process as clean and classy as possible.
Planning on combing mine out too.
Good luck with your new hairstyle.
Whether you believe it or not it is true they do hold energy everything does because everything is literally vibrating at its own unique frequency even a dead piece of wood has a vibration and store energy. There’s nothing on this planet that doesn’t vibrate it’s called “the law of vibration”. based on the law of vibration, a fundamental principle in physics and metaphysics This law states that everything in the universe is in constant motion and vibrates at its own unique frequency. Everything is made up of atoms, which are constantly moving (vibrating) all vibration energy can be converted into electrical energy Vibrations can cause changes in cells, which can affect how the body functions. Different molecules vibrate at different rates, and these rates can change based on the conditions around the molecules. ❤
@@shawna287 I see. We don't believe in the same things and that's fine. We can't prove each other wrong when it comes to feelings and beliefs. I'm just happy there are people out there who share the same or at least have a similar approach to their hair as me. As they say, I can relate 🙂
I’ve been wanting to cut out my sister locs for like five years and I’m finally gonna do it, this was so inspiring
Go for it, you can always go back and have a reinstall. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
There's now less tension on your edges since the shed hairs have been removed
God Bless You My Sister ❤!!!
Challenge 🤔!
Wow, you did an amazing job 👍🏽👌🏽✌🏽
❤ oh okay .. I just started my sister locks recently…it seems like that is going to be a lot of work when you take them out … I want to see the after or next process videos
Question, did you take all your hair down, Just to add weave to it.? I know it was short like a Bob I thought 🤔
Absolutely beautiful 😻
I combed mine out with a sewing needle. A thick one. Just in case anyone wanted to know how.
Thank you for sharing your video
I thought you were in your twenties, you are gorgeous! Family too,🤗. How many locks did you have?? Best wishes on your journey.
Since you went straight to wearing wigs, you could have just cut your locs, slapped on the wig, let your roots grow out, cut off the remaining loc length, had your loose short hair WITHOUT all that work, and slapped your wig back on top of you loose hair 🎯🎯🎯
If your daughters want theirs out will you let them?
You have a lot of patience with your hair.....
Beautiful
Im taking my 18 year old sisterlocs out as well. It's definitely a testimony of my patience.😅
@msjgs07, do you have a page so that we can follow your journey?
@lexusbabee0578 ahh thank you for the comment. I've been toying with that idea as I work taking out thses locs. I'll definitely tag you if I do :-)
Are you taking them out for change? Tired of locs? Are locs heavy? Can all locs come out?
I paid someone to take mine down. Best $2k I ever spent.
@@reneestevens7337how long did it take?
So you cut off your locks to buy hair to weave on? SMDH!!
How was the kinky hair added? Looks good. I would like that install. Thanks
I prefer you with the sister locs.
Im never going back
Never going back to locs? Just curious.
@@shantelknapik I know, don’t know what she’s “never going back” to.?????
@@carolynharveyfoxtrot Some people write how they think and not for the audience.
Waittttt. Andddd you’re a XULA alum tooooo? Let me sub!! 😂💛🖤
Wow! This was a practice of patience and persistence, well done!
I cut my micro locs off, due to interlocking.
I love both looks on you, beautiful.
What type of hair did you use for your weave, please?
😁✌🏾❤️
You can undo locks? I always wanted locks but didn't want it to be permanent
Remove REAL hair to add FAKE hair, ok well whatever... my SL's are almost 21 years old, down to the bend of my knees and I LOVE THEM!!!😊
My Hair can't take all that heat
I love my locs.
So how long did it take to take your locs down? Did it average 7 - 8 minutes per loc? I’m glad you didn’t lose a lot of hair! It looks beautiful!
Beautiful with or without locs
Well done. I’m curious as to whether or not you kept your hair once you cut it?
I love it ❤
