Thank you ❤️I have been debating on this for awhile . I am over weaves and braids
No problem! Are you thinking about getting locs ?
@@microlocsandmore yes I am ❤️

Is there a date in mind?
@@microlocsandmore I’m
I'm about to begin my loc journey! I'm so excited. I can't deal with my natural hair and I'm tired of weave. I'm looking forward to this next stage in life where many things are changing for the better! #Liberating 💞
If that’s your motivation you will LOVE locs! 🙌🏾 I have never more FREE!! Best thing since sliced bread!
Checkin in: how's the loc journey been?
Nice to hear you explained the definition of fine hair. Some people think fine and thin are the same. Fine is the texture like coarse hair is the opposite texture. It's the feel of the hair. Thick and thin are the density of hair. The number of hairs on your hair.
Exactly! It is a misconception.
Very informative video. I have 22 inches of 4b/4c hair with fine strands but of high density and when I went for my consultations (I booked 3), only one loctician, in my opinion, was knowledgeable and/or honest enough to let me know my strands are too thin and would absolutely advise against me getting sisterlocs. She then proceeded to do test microlocs and they were gorgeous and strong, even to the point that the second loctician I went to complimented the ones the first loctician did. Needless to say, I trusted the first loctician to do my install! Make sure you do your research ladies!
Yes! Do your research and ask questions!
How did they turn out? Are you happy with your install
@@ShelbySteele23 unfortunately I haven't gotten anything done as yet. I'm a front line worker, and have been in ppe from head to toe, it's not wise to start them yet, as I am not sure how they will mature being covered 8-14hrs of the day! Soon and very soon 😩
Micro less time 8-330 was install time and 2.5-3 retie with wash and additional hr for color versus 4-5 hours each retie
Who installed your micro locs?
I believe you just have convinced me to take the plunge to get Microlocs over Sisterlocs!! I'm so excited to start the process soon! Beautiful :)
Thank you! Either way you should have a beautiful journey as long as you pick a good consultant (or start them with a good foundation yourself). As well as follow the sound advice that's out there to prevent your locs from unnecessary mishaps (some will happen even if you do everything right but those are typically fixable ex. slippage). I'm excited for you!!
Doing my research on sister locks ... let’s see if I’m still interested at the end of this video 😂😂
What are your thoughts?
@@microlocsandmore I think i still want sister locks
I am scheduled to get sisterlocks on July 21st and 22nd. I am so excited to begin my loc journey!
You will love it! Just remember it's a journey and don't give up on the less than perfect moments!
I'm scheduled in a couple weeks. 3 days installment. I'm starting with 14 inches. I can't wait...
I have sister locks. I have been on this journey for 2 years and 4 months. Started with 3.5 inches and now it is shoulder length. Your hair is so healthy. Enjoyed your vlog and it was very informative!
Thank you💗! I started with 6 inches a year and 9 months ago. I'm looking forward to collarbone length so I can increase styling options but still enjoying my barely grazing 😜shoulder length too!
You answered all the questions I had! I’ve been debating between Sisterlocs & Microlocs! Thank you so much!!

Thank you so much for this video! I was already leaning towards microlocs and this just solidified it for me. You addressed many of the concerns (fine hair, availability of SL consultants) that I have! I'm so happy that I stumbled upon this video!
Glad it addressed some of your concerns! When are you thinking of starting?
@@microlocsandmore I'm growing out a tapered cut so I'm waiting for my sides to get longer. But I have a appt soon with my hair stylist who is also a loctician so I'll see what she says!
@@nccurlygirl Hey checking in. How did your appointment go?
@@microlocsandmore Thanks for asking, it went well! I'm going to get some color in April and do another length check. But I think I'll be able to get them in installed in May or June!

No problem! Do you have a date in mind?
Thanks for this video. I'm on year #2 with my micro locs and I love them. Like you I contemplated for about a year. Then I pulled the trigger. My install took 7 hrs.
Thanks for watching! I'll be 2 years on 3/24! It took about 15 hours for me over 2 days.
Excellent content 👍 thank you this was extremely helpful. I was trying to decide if I should do sisterlocs or microlocs. I have fine hair, now I'm sure microlocs is the way to go. ♥️
Thank you!! Glad it brought you clarity!!
And just like that, this beautifully detailed video has eliminated my confusion. Micro locs it is! Thank you, thank you!
Awesome! When do you plan to start your journey?
I feel like the people saying sister-locks are expensive are not going to certified sister locks consultants, I heard one girl say she was quoted $2100 and her hair is 5 inches, FOH that’s insane
sister locks has a set price that they follow. I believe it’s 600 for the first 4 or 6 inches and $100 for each additional inch and then your first follow up is FREE
If the first follow up isn’t free and you are paying more than I wrote then your hair dresser is not certified
$2100 is a lot. Maybe it depends on the location and demand? The price you are stating for sisterlocks sounds more accurate and was close to what I would have paid had I give that route.
I love your locs and your space buns!❤️ Thank you so much for sharing.😊
Thank you!💕
Best video so far in my research! 🥰💗💗💗💯
☺Aww thanks! So glad it was helpful!❤
Thank you so much for this! I think I’m leaning more towards micro locs now! ❤️❤️
I'm glad you found some insight! Either way choose what's best for you!💗
You will love micro locs. I get confused for Sister locs all the time.
@@maudinerichardson3361 same. I have to constantly correct people.
All of this is accurate! The loctician that I have met is going to charge close to $1000 for the install if you have 3 inches of hair and $100 per extra inch of hair for Sister Locs. I had micro Locs in the past and it cost me $300 for the install and that was about 10 years ago. I did have them unraveled over a period of 70 hours and four people. It was insane to say the least. Now that I am knocking on the door at 40 I am ready to take the jump again this time permanently. I personally enjoy changing my hair all the time too! I agree with all of the reasons you mentioned!
Do you have a timeline to start the journey again?
Love your energy beautiful💖 And the information in this video is outstanding. Thank you😉

Thanks for watching. Let me know when you decide to take the plunge!
I’m so glad I found this video! I have a consultation for micro locs this week.
Thanks for watching! Good luck on your consultation!
That’s great. Leaning towards micro locks. I don’t like the idea of forcing a certain amount of locs to meet a requirement. That’s not great for everyone.
Agreed. Locs should be based on your hair’s needs vs a quota. This is why you need someone honest to do your install.
The mini interlocking journey is what I do. Love them. I am appreciating your knowledge of the 5 rules, which I can use when explaining to future clients and anyone who asks. It is very important to know what you are getting before you start. I do not call the locks sister locks, because that is not what I do. I am not a person certified to do sister locks.
A person must understand -- cost and time are very important.
Thank you so much. Like you I have been on the hunt for 2years now viewing pages and doing research. Thank you because today someone informed me about microlocks as well and you confirmed. Thank you I’m ready to make my decision now. Blessings to you!

Love your video. I’m thinking of getting certified. I love seeing ans doing the traditional locs but this is a game changer. I’m a licensed cosmetologist who lives in Las Vegas and it tough to fine a place to get certified. But great video

Thank you for the video. I don't have locs but I am leaning in the direction of micro locs once my hair grows out. I have been cutting my hair for a while now and I'm ready to let my hair grow back out to a nice length. I have been watching videos for the last few days to get get more info

I wanted sister loc for a good minute but I did like you did and did my research. I have tried to do my own hair with micro twist and even had them professionally twisted. Soft hair. I tried interlocking my hair. I am trying it for the last time going to consultant next week. I love changing my hair as well but when I had them in liked it so much better.
Let me know how it goes!
thank you so much! i am considering, and this has definitely helped.
Glad it helped!
Great video you answer all my questions and concerns again thank you very much...
So glad it helped you!
Looking forward to my microlocs journey!! 2weeks down- years to go🥰🎉
💕💕💕love it!
Very helpful video. I have been debating between Sisterlocks and micro locs for some time now. Not to mention, the word “micro locs” is/ has been used interchangeably to describe sister lock-type locks not done by a certified sisterlocks consultant, versus this type of loc in the video. So things have been a bit confusing. But now that I have gained some clarity from this video, I feel like I know know which direction I’m headed in my future loc journey. Thanks!
Glad you got your clarity! It can be confusing. Keep me posted on your journey!
Thank you 🙏🏽 I have fine hair but it’s a lot.
This video is very helpful. I too was leaning toward sister locks but as I’ve been researching I’m now more thinking it will be microlocks.
I literally changed my mind in the chair of my consultation!😜 Keep me posted on your journey!
I have microlocs and am documenting my journey on my channel as well. I'm subscribing to follow and support your journey. Your hair is beautiful. Mine get mistaken for sisterlocks as well.
Thank you so much! I just subscribed back. We can support each other along this journey!
@@microlocsandmore thank you so much. I would love that. I'm in the process of working on more content to upload to my channel.
I have microlocs. Two months locd. I started with two strand twist. Had to go to a braider to twist them cause i am awfall at sectioning. But i will manage my hair by interlocking
How has your experience been with the two strand twist staying loc'd especially after washing?
Thank you. I’m currently deciding…leaning towards microlocks too.
Do you have a timeline for when you plan to “loc” it in (pun intended)😜? In all seriousness, putting a date on it helped me not to continue to delay.
1 your background is beautiful, lol I had to say that. 2, your microlocs are beautiful, love the look.I been on my journey for 11 months and I went with Microlocs over sisterlocs as well.
Thank you for the compliment on the background and my locs😜! How are you enjoying your journey?
Thanks you for explaining the difference between the two locs. I made decision, microlocs, time and cost
No problem! Glad it was useful! Good luck!
Thank you for sharing… you helped me confirm my journey… wish me luck
Good luck! When do you plan to loc?
Thanks I was scheduled for sisterlocs. But you helped me decide on microloc because I also have fine hair.
Glad you found helpful info. Keep me posted on your journey!!
Thank you for all your advices ... think I will go with microlocks 💛😊
No problem! Glad it helped!
It doesn't matter how long your hair is it takes my consultant 2 hours to retighten my sisterlocks. My cousin also has sisterlocks she has 550 her's is at bra strap. It takes her sisterlock consultant 2.5 to 3.5 hours to retighten hers. You have to trust the process. Sisterlocks double/swell over time. I also have fine hair.
You definitely have to trust the process! How has your journey been with fine hair?
Thank you. That was very good information!
So glad it helped!
Thank you for the info. I’ll still doing my research.

Thanks for the information, I have been considering sisterlocs for a few years but as you stated the price & time was causing me to figure out what would be better for me. I have an appointment tomorrow to have microlocs. Your microlocs looks very nice. Thanks for helping me to decide because I also have very fine hair
How exciting on your upcoming appointment!! Keep me posted!
Hello Microlocks and More, I don't have either one, but I am considering both. I agree they both are beautiful. However, I am not a loctician nor a sisterlock consultant, but I think I can tell the difference. I bottomline want my tresses to look their Best with the least amount of money and time possible. I would need a professional to do my touchups. Thanks for the good information---things to consider as I make my decision 🙂
Thank you so much for this very precise information....I never considered microlocs however I'm not a person who likes to sit a in chair for a long time
..I will certainly bring this question up afnmy consultation Tomorrow
Glad it helped!
Thanks so much, I was thinking sisterlocs but now I'm thinking microlocs
Glad you gained some insight that gave you another option. Either way it's a great choice!
👋🏾 Hi...New subbie! I'm growing out my hair from a boy cut to get DIY micro locs. So I'm here for ALL the tips!😁 Your hair looks beautiful!
Thank you! How many inches do you plan to grow before you start your journey?
@@microlocsandmore well, I'm not too sure. Right now I'm at 2 1/2 - 3 inches. I'd like to have at least 2x that length. So at least 6 inches I guess.
Thank you for this! I appreciate you! I have my sisterloc consultation appointment tomorrow! I am leaning towards microlocs, because I don't think I want 600 locks on my big head. But I have a huge head and full of hair. I would like to be able to sometimes do my own retie, and I don't think that 600 is the answer! I think I would be better with about 300-350 locks. Plus, I didn't realize the price thing that you said... I thought they would cost about the same. I will definitely be questioning her about these things tomorrow.
Good luck on your consultation! Keep me posted!
Thank you for this video
Thanks for watching!
You are the BEST!
Awww thanks girl!
Thank you for this video. I am doing the research in my area. Plenty of locticians but not a lot of sis locticians. After looking at a you tube blogger about sis locs she highlighly discouraged if you don't have one within 2 hours and able to attend the strict scheduled maintenance. I paused in getting them. The price for sis locs can be really expensive based on length. Micro locs might be my new look. 😊
One of my cousins who has Sisterlocks (and hers are gorgeous) mentioned this as a concern. She personally says she can’t tell the difference herself when microlocs are installed with a good grid using the interlocking method. As a result, she got her daughter microlocs.
Keep me posted on your decision. There Is no right or wrong choice. Only what’s right for you. If you watch any other videos and have questions please ask away! Keep me posted on your journey.
Awesome video! Thank you!

I love you microlocks. A good sisterlock consultant takes an average 2 to 3 hours to retighten their clients sisterlocks. A sisterlock trainee as my self takes 6 hours
Thanks! Agreed. It takes my consultant 1 hour and 45 minutes. She is fast but good!
About how much is a retie?
How often do you have to retighten and how much does it cost?
Great Tips
Yes ma'am you have helped me to decide .l will be doing microlicks
Enjoy your journey! Let me know when you take the plunge! Exciting!!
Thank you! I have fine hair too and was wondering.
Are you concerned about locking because of fine hair?
I love your voice. Okay now that I've gotten that put of the way. I am very Interested in microlocs. I currently have traditional locs and want to switch to micro. I enjoy having locs. I am like you and change my hair alot but this loc journey for me has been extra special sp I want to stay here I just want to change it up a bit. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! Microlocs are small enough to give you a lot of styling flexibility plus they are small enough that if you choose to, you can braid over them, puts wigs over them, etc. Keep me posted!
@@microlocsandmore yes. I ended up switching that same day. My best friend helped me comb them out and redo them.
Also with SL consultants, along with being limited, some don’t allow you to make a retightening appointment if you didn’t get your establishment done with them. Like, they don’t take transfer clients. So if your consultant is booked when you need them, it’s more difficult to find a backup.
This is something important to consider. Thanks for sharing!
That's crazy! What if you move area or country lol??
Our locs are adorable! Omg!
Loc love!❤❤
Girl your hair is beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Micro was my choice and would chose it again. After 6 months .. people always ask because it’s hard if you’re specialist

150 each 6 wks

Do it❤

No problem ❤️
OMG sis thank you so much. Yes I have been stalking Chiiiiiile lol.. for months .. I was going back and forth between micro lo cs or something just a bit larger than micros because of my fine hair. I am so scared they will snap on me ..especially my edges..lol.. I need my edges sis 😂😂😂😩 Yours are beautiful!
Lol! Stalking is necessary when figuring this loc life out!😜 Since you have fine hair you will be able to watch my videos to see some the experiences you may have. Ask any questions and I’ll be sure to answer. Good luck!
Getting an honest consultant is literally the most important part of the decision to get microlocks over sisterlocks. Having someone who has the knowledge and experience to recommend lock sizes and patterns that make sense for you individually is a gem.
Any loctician can install interlocked locks. I don't see the difference between 450 sisterlocks and 450 locks established with the interlocking from root to tip. Literally no difference, IMO.
Considering microlocs. I want the smaller locs without having to be in a chair for as long
Microlocs was the best of both worlds for me. Small locs but less time and less money. When do you plan on making your decision?
