    I went the microlocs route. 1 and a half years in with about 285. My daughter started mine. She’s a licensed hairdresser. My hair won’t loc at the ends, it’s frizzy and idc because it’s healthy. I self maintain. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the hair freedom!

    This was helpful because I almost got sisterlocks. To be clear, I actually got 80 sisterlocks, a few weeks ago. The person was yanking my scalp off of my skull and I was in so much pain after the first day when I got home that I canceled the remaining appointments. I was still taking aspirin 4 days later, and the center part hurt for almost one week! I removed those sisterlocks and I am going to self-install my own microlocs by March 2023. I'm researching and reading now on how to do it.

    I got my braid microlocs installed 2 weeks ago, and I absolutely love them. 🙌🏽 Sisterlocks were too structured for me, plus I didn't want my locs that small. I have 355 microlocs, and I can't wait to see my babies progress over time.

      I had sisterlocks for 5 months earlier this year and combed them out for numerous reasons. Now I'm considering getting microlocs (braidlocs) but want to be able to maintain my hair myself, something I didn't feel comfortable doing with sisterlocks. I too have a softer curlier texture that doesn't like to stay in tye lock and will slip in an instant

    I’m almost 2 years sisterlocd with roughly 420 💨🍃 locs. I love them so much. My loc sizes are definitely inconsistent but so is the texture and density around my hair. It’s so easy and one of the best decisions. I’m waiting on more thickness and length. I started with 6 inches and now I’m about 12 inches just touching my shoulders. I can’t wait to get to bra strap length!!

    I have sisterlocks. I researched locks for two years before getting them. And even with my two year research, I didn’t hear about microlocks until I had been locked a year. Lol. • @aishastack

      It's more of the consistency, I think. Sisterlocks are always super concise. The grid patter is trademarked, whereas microlocs can be any small loc in any pattern.

      Hey there. I am actually surprised you don't have more locs. I have always been told by locticians that "sisterlocks" have to meet a minimum requirement of around 450+. I have around the same amount as you and they definitely thicken up. My beginning and now are night and day.

    • @nursete
      @nursete 2 года назад +1

      I have Sisterlocks installed by a Sisterlock ambassador and I don’t have 450 either. With fine, low to medium density hair, it would have not been the best thing for the long term health of my hair. I think all locs are absolutely beautiful but I believe there is recommendation for the number of sisterlocks and not a hard core requirement.

    Beautiful commentary on SL and Microlocs😊
    But please be careful out here when it comes to your SL , everyone is not out here for your good on your hair periodT.
    I let a girl In Hayward CA, name Kristin do my Sisterlock install- 🤦🏽‍♀️ she was awful to say the least and very unprofessional.
    I went to her for a couple of more months, but my gut told me to stop going to her.
    She did not know what she was doing. She did not do the Sisterlocs grid- she messed up my hair- and had the nerve to get upset because I stopped tipping her. In the meantime I was looking for a new sister Loctician ….and I actually reported her to Sisterlock foundation . I have a new lady now , in San Leandro California. She is amazing ! Some of these folks out here do not want to take care of your hair. They only want the money. And her attitude was definitely from the devil..
    If you feel it in your gut, please do your research. Do not go to the first person you see! This is my second set of Sisterlocks. Soon I will be doing a channel myself regarding my Sisterlock journey. 😉 be safe out here folks when it comes to your hair!

    Are you in Atl? If so can you share your Locticians information. I’m leaning towards micro locs. Your video helped me decided. I’m one to want to be able to manage my hair myself I also don’t care for the brand name or particular grid. Just the look and want a little la get then sister locks due to my sciatica won’t play that sitting for that long!

    😂inflation is real..I got a quote of $2600 for sister locks for about 14 inches…year 2024.. and I’m in Los Angeles!!! Now a days microlocks install just only a smidge cheaper $2300

    • @aishastack

      It's just because you aren't shedding any hair at all. It definitely thickens up so when I got them installed I just knee I needed them to be smaller. My hair is thinner but it's dense.

    Question.. I am a newbie wanna-be so please forgive the ignorance.. I was thinking along the lines of sista-locs but after seeing this video and your hair, I think I want to do the micro-locs. My question is, with microlocs do you start with a small twist/braid or is it interlocked to start? I hope I haven't confused you with that question..🤣😂. Am I using the term correctly?

    • @aishastack
      @aishastack  Год назад +1

      Hello there. The trademark is called Sisterlocks if you want to get technically & welcome to this fun community 😀!
      No you did not confuse me.
      I starter by interlocking my hair but many people start different ways. It's really about preference. I chose interlocking because I am very active and sometimes swim and knew the twist would unravel.

      @@aishastack which will cause less fuzzies? And look neater to the scalp? If that makes sense

    • @aishastack
      @aishastack  Год назад +1

      @V B It depends on your hair. My hair is naturally super curly so my locs look fuzzy a lot more than someone with more kinky hair. Bit at first, and less frizz will come with braids or interlocking. Disclaimer, though: Braids can take a while to lose their "braid" patterns and look locked.
