This is definitely the worst week we’ve experienced during our 3 years of full-time travel around Australia, and proof that life can throw you curve balls at any moment! We set off from Rossville Retreat south of Cooktown to day trip the famous Bloomfield Track, and have a single vehicle accident rolling the Landcruiser 79 series.
Thankfully none of us were hurt and we had immediate help on the scene to get us out of the vehicle and upright again. A few weeks post-accident and we are feeling very grateful to everyone involved, and are well underway with the repair process.

Glad everyone is ok. Thanks for turning your "sh*t happens" into an education for others. I work in insurance and had 5 years in caravan claims. You see some stuff that makes your hair curl and it's always been my wish to educate drivers more. You guys did exactly that by sharing your raw emotions, honesty, pain and positivity. Through this incident I have just discovered your channel Nd enjoyed your quality filming.
Just thinking why and how the roll over happened.
My questions would be us the 79 running on the standard narrower then front axle width? How much weight ( stuff) was packed into the canopy.
The standard chassis length leaves a lot of your canopy hanging south of the rear axle position. I assume you don't have a chassis extension .
May be that rear ( overhanging) load caused a cantilever effect starting the chain of events.
Just thoughts. Cheers.
You said in your vlog that you weren’t sure what the lesson was in this situation. I honestly believe that simply by showing this footage & bringing this to our attention, it’s a reminder for ALL of us, in any capacity, to be aware of our surroundings, slow down & just be mindful.

Well said, we're new to caravans just starting out, so yes things can go pear shape, our friends got side swiped by a road train in WA, totally wiped out the DMax and the caravan. Thank goodness walked away

Paul when you started to talk about Jasper and his foot being caught the unknown would have been soul crushing. When you cried I was crying with you! Great to hear all OK, keep up the good work, don’t let your little mishap deter you continuing on your big adventure, we luckily have had 10 years of touring Australia trouble free, one small piece of advice as a retired panel beater,30 years as an insurance Assessor, the wheel aligner should not have repositioned your steering wheel, there is normally a self entering device in your power steering, the wheel should be repositioned to factory and the steering tie rod ends which are adjustable reset to centralise the steering wheel

So glad you’re all ok. It’s such a moment when you realise how quickly something can change. You’re videos inspired me to take the plunge and get a caravan. I’ve watched you since you started. I started my journey in February and in April another car hit me head on near mission beach. I was then stuck in cairns for 5 months and my journey stalled. I almost gave it all up. I’m back on the road again - cautious - but still going. So you’re right - never know how great this life can be without taking some risks. These times always teach us something. They make us grateful and stronger

So glad you are all OK and back on the road. It's not a nice feeling when the poop hits the fan and you're stranded in the middle of nowhere as we know only to well. We didn't let our vehicle incident stop us either and were back on the road within 8 days. Thank you for sharing how it happened because that is not something you would normally think about but will keep an eye out for it in the future. Safe travels and happy camping

Wow, glad your all OK, shows how easy and quickly things happen. Good on all those that helped get you sorted and back on the road again. As a solo traveler, I often think what would happen in the outback if something went wrong, so it's always great to see that people will go out of their way to help. When you can get back there, make sure you do the Bloomfield Track, it is fantastic, quite easy, sensational views, and a coldie or 2 at the Lion's Den is a great way to finish, I stayed the night as well !! Mate, just discovered your channel and instantly like/subscribed. You guys are the reason we love the off-road and touring community. I love your emotion, openness and appreciation of EVERYTHING around you. The community is so full of such genuine, caring people and I think that this is sadly lost in a lot of other channels because it is, to us at least, one of the highlights of that lifestyle. The places and experiences a great but the community is what makes it AMAZING.
We live in Townsville, FNQ and did the Cape, etc last year and made life long friends doing it and watching your videos brings back those memories and that warmth you feel being in such a wonderful community together. Re: wheel alignment, the reason the steering wheel was off centre is that when the wheel alignment was done, the steering wheel was not locked tight, pointing 100% straight. If not locked tight, the steering wheel is off centre after the wheel alignment. And even if you straighten it like you did, the wheel alignment may not be true. Just saying from experience of many years of very high speed travel throughout South Africa.🇿🇦🇿🇦.

OMG what an rough experience, so very fortunate Katie ,Jasper & yourself are all OK could have been much worse. Paul your emotion and humility were inspirational and the decency of others in your time of need was amazing..make one proud to live in Oz. When towing one sees some ridiculous behaviour speed ,loading etc certainly a wakeup call. Hopefully the repairs to the 79 are of a high quality. Safe travels.
