Whilst I'm pleased for you guys getting such a great deal, it is a shocking eye openers as to why we are all being bent over by our insurance companies.
That a car with such minor damage can be written off at 1 month old and sold for less than 20% of original retail price, is ridiculous.

Top tip 1, need better gloves! Top tip 2, for when trying the loud pedal, an EV can deliver 100% torque from standstill. The straps would not have saved the cab of the truck if it had been live.

I have that exact 2024 model in blue, absolutely love it but I can guarantee I paid a lot more for it than you did, haha. It'll usually not start the petrol engine when you first start the car, so nothing happening under the bonnet when you press the button is totally normal, but that also means don't mess with it putting it in gear assuming it won't scoot off at quite an alarming rate just because the engine isn't running, it may only have about 65hp in full electric mode but it has enough instant torque to send it half way across the workshop before you realise. The thing to check for is the "ready" message on the dash, as that means the car is live and ready to go, that's the only indication you'll get.

Might be worthwhile looking into an Autel diagnostic unit chaps. We just picked up an MS909 with the maxiflash VCI, and as long as we get the car on a battery maintainer, we can use the Remote Expert function so a supplier with manufacturer-grade software can reprogram/clear the ECUs completely remotely. Proper bit of kit.

Hi, are you doing diagnostics remotely? Got 2023 Clio etech it was fine, starting and driving but since front bumper was removed it had some faults on the dash (front parking sensors/front camera/radar etc).
Decided to connect can clip 237 and it wouldn’t let me to clear codes, so after disconnecting unit, car screen went black and only (P) is blinking with ⚠️,

Renault CLIP diagnostic software has all been online since 2022. You can only read basic faults but can't do anything else with aftermarket diagnostic equipment. You'll need someone with the latest CLIP software and online access, you have to pay for every diagnostic function you do. All part of the latest ploy by manufacturers to keep work in-house. Problem is the "mechanics" in main dealers are nothing more than parts changers, they don't fix anything.

European court has found in favour of independent garages being locked out by manufacturers using Security gateways and rulled it illegal. The appeals are going through the courts now. this will basically decide whether you'll be able to have post 2021 vehicle repaired by independents or need to return to dealerships. You can purchase the equipment and licensing to operate on these vehicles but it ias extortionate and requires paying Renault and the likes every time you try and diagnose/work on them. The future of vehicle repairs will be decided in the next few months and will be dependent on the public voicing their concerns and demanding vehicle repairs outside the dealership networks..

Looks like the new UNECE software needed on new cars from June/July 2024 to hinder access to the car from unwanted persons. More or less to not allow somebody to hi jack your car from outside. As with every security system, it makes life of anybody more complicated. But you should expect a similar “firewall” on any 24 or newer car.

Normally the HV battery will have a pyrotechnic fuse inside unit which will blow if the vehicle has been involved in an accident. I suspect as the airbags have been deployed then the fuse has blown. The HV battery may need recommissioning too after an inspection to confirm no damage has been done to the unit.

Voltage is not the problem, its the current. A very high impeadance 1000's of volts is way safer than a very low impeadance 200+ volts. Also depends what you are touching at the time, keep one hand away from metal work then its also a lot safer.

@@TheValvePage Oh, I'm perfectly aware of that - I've been dealing with electrics and electronics for nigh on fifty years, from modern logic to mains-derived EHT supplies at 30KV as well as electrical control systems.

Alpine is like a sportscar arm of Renault and is pronounced "alpeen". the same Alpine as in the Alpine(Renault) F1 team.

Well said , it may sound sad but its only two years ago I got my first vehicle with electric windows and I still miss the old wind up windows where I was In control of how fast or slow the windows went up or down and I now feel I have surrendered to pointless tech .I look at the dash/ speedo area and it tells me I should get changing gear up or down when I already knew that after driving for over 50years and flashing signs and bells and whistles when I just could not be bothered to plug in my seat belt because when I passed my test there were no seat belts, its like now big brother has took over completely...,???

Lads you need to get on a E Vehicle training course , those rubber gloves are a waste of time if you have the misfortune to have a short on the system, also use a full face version if you value your good looks. 😅😊.

The reason I buy Renaults is they are excellent cars, but unpopular in the uk so a bargain. My current Megane 1.6 diesel estate is brilliant. Drives across Europe at 60mpg. Bought pre reg O miles in 2017 from main dealer with 8k discount. Cheers from Greece

Check for pyro fuse fellas. They can be on the 12v battery and in the hybrid battery. Only touch the hybrid side with the proper gloves.

Dynomec kits are OK to use, as long as the locking wheel nut hasn't been fitted by a former F1 pit crew garage monkey with his 3000nm airgun he got last Christmas.
The black Renault locking wheel nut box should be under the floor cover in the boot of the car, where the spare wheel used to live.

One of the big put-off's for people are repairing new or facelift models. It can be really hard to get the newer correct parts to fix.

ever thought the reason the engine dont start and systems shuts down is the pyrofuse? it may have blown as the airbags have gone off
