Hi Vanessa! Well I love hearing you say that you're a "recovering awkward person" because I struggle with my own self confidence and feel awkward and uncomfortable in my own skin a lot and I just love to hear ways to gain more confidence. I really enjoyed watching your class introduction, where several students spoke about how they worry about looking stupid and so on. Just makes me feel better I'm not alone ☺

I read a few comments below. So much negativity. Personally, I think Vanessa was right on. I don't know her, but I teach Psychology in a community college, and every once in awhile, I will show one of her videos. She is articulate and practical. My students like what she has to say. She captures the gist of social psychology and presents it in an applied manner. Most people in business need to hear psychology presented in this way to see its relevance. Kudos to Vanessa Van Edwards for bringing Psychology to the general public.

Agree. I am an engineering graduate and is now currently enrolled. Few years ago I became interested to Body Language and it really helped a lot in my work place. Al ot. Trust me. Most especially during negotiations and meeting. I self learn how to relate to people including how to talk to them accndg to how would you actually want to turn the situation to. What she is sayin is indeed true and is applicable. Reading body language plus how to yalk to them is a really must learn skill.

You dont take into account that some people in relationdhips may not be as happy. If the person is a narssist, they will not take into your "help me with the house, and then we can have fun in bed thing" it doesnt always work that way. some people are either too ridged or mentally ill to be on the same kind of upper high class level. Maybe consider that in your next video :)

Great video, and great strategies. My only concern - the 'happy wife, happy life,' line. I am very interested in refuting the concept that our society has, that a husband's job is to keep his wife happy. A husband, like any other human being, has no control over the emotions of another person. I agree, a husband should want to contribute to the happiness of his wife, but is not responsible for it. I've known too many couples that have fallen into the rut of the husband trying to appease his wife, and both of them are miserable. He doesn't want to appease her, and she doesn't want to be appeased, but they've both subscribed to the absurd notion that is how a marriage/live-in relationship/etc. is supposed to work. Nonsense!. We've got to stop this insanity.

She says I don't care whatever you want to do. She want him to make a decision good or bad. But really wants him to fail so she can say told you so.
