I love the “older people vs younger people” tasks. The older ones are always just there to have a good time, meanwhile the younger ones run around trying their best to do well. Reminds me of life in general. The older folks have proven themselves already, so they’re taking it slower. The younger ones still have a lot to prove so they’re doing their best.
I feel like Greg is literally such a sweetheart so randomly - this is the 2nd episode in a row where he's given the prize task 1st place to the handmade item. In the last episode, it was Katie's teapot that she made and this time Rose's crocheted bag - so cute.

David & Jo doing the scavenger hunt their way is one of my favourites task performances ever. To paraphrase Mike Wozniak: You can't take away from them that they had an absolutely lovely day.
I love how the old couple had a wonderful time doing the treasure hunt with a delicious sandwich and a cuppa tea, having a good time doing tasks, and the young three had the most stressful afternoon possible. Amazing how different people deal with the same tasks
I've been slowly working my way through these full episodes and as a teacher I love how Greg always asks what we learned each time. I know he used to be a teacher and is just spinning off that, but the silliness of it all always make me smile.
Katy Wix is so funny, so deadpan. She looks like she slowly realizes she might enjoy the show, and she relaxes more and more with each episode, I love it!
It's not that well-known, but Katy is autistic, so that might explain why she sometimes looked awkward in the studio. A lot of people noticed this about Fern Brady in the most recent series, who also has autism. Then again Joe Thomas spent 90% of the studio portion in series 8 looking like he had no idea where he was (until Erasergate happened, then he really started to relax) and he's neurotypical.
Checking out people's Wikipedia articles can sometimes give me a sense of the people I'm watching. Like David being an old songwriter who's largely renowned, etc
Greg helping the crowd help them is hilarious 😂 "I think you have to shout their name before shouting the color!" 😂 Then the crowd being like oh yeah, good point, and actually doing that...😂 man, this season of taskmaster is actually filled with some really wholesome moments. Last season I felt like some of them never really did enjoy being on the show, this season they all seem to be having so much more fun
It’s like a family holiday where the game was set up for everyone but it was really meant to distract the hyper children by giving them something to do while the adults pretend to be involved but just chat
Rose’s solution to the ball task makes me realize they could have just mashed everything together, flattened it and put it in the bin. None of the instructions were mutually exclusive
they had to be the right shape and location at the end of the task, unfortunately something can't be smashed flat while at the same time being a ball. two thirds is still good though
@@jondw they could've flattened the balls and then put them together almost like an onion to form a ball, though. I think the only instruction speaking against it is that it must be one big "blue" ball

That's what I thought and arguably a good solution but arguably not. I would had done it anyway assuming I also had thought it in the heat of the moment.
I thought so too, but Alex's summation of her score seems to imply that that wouldn't have worked, that the blue and yellow balls had to be outside the bucket. Otherwise she would have scored slightly higher than 33% for whichever balls she did flatten or clump together.
Imagine that with last seasons bunch! There was a bit more of a "toxic competitivene disunity" in those team tasks, and a lot less lovely breaks for tea

Going from Series 8, where the team tasks stressed me out just WATCHING them to Jo and David just having a nice little snack together really healed my heart.
I fall in love with the contestants every series, but moving me from "never heard of" to "most loved" is Rose Matafeo. What a lovely woman! A charming group this year, but Rose is special.
Second episode in and I already adore all these contestants. David and Jo just having a lovely time on the team task, while Ed, Katy, and Rose were all super excited (did you see how visibly thrilled Rose was to see the others? my heart can't take it); they were such different energies but both incredible.
I'm sure this connection has been made already, but I realized the other day that this show is basically the definition of "play stupid games, win stupid prizes"

I suspect he just saw the comments on Reddit and youtube, it's almost like people don't realize that this is less of a competition and more of an experiment to see how much comedians would demean themselves to get a plastic head that doesn't even look like Greg's

Across the pond here. Dont know most of the people, or what they are famous for, but I feel like this show introduces me in the best way possible to all of them. I just love laughing at their antics! Thank you you bloody funny brits!
I’ve had a terrible week so I’m finally binging this show. And I gotta say it’s been marvelous at calming me down and making me smile. I cannot express how grateful I am for that.

I like that she's fairly easy going. There are some guests that feel like they're trying way too hard to "act like a comedian" but come off as fake instead.
That's a plus point of Taskmaster, in all the other shows, the panelists have to put out their material fast, they fight for the spotlight in a way. But the way Taskmaster is structured, there are a lot of opportunities for people to let their authentic self out.
This series is rewatchable, with a really lovely cast and great studio energy (probably thanks to some genuine friendships). Series 8 was painful, in my opinion. Which is a shame as the format is watertight, and there were some really interesting tasks. This series is comfort viewing for me 😊
Only 2 episodes in and I am developing a Taskmaster crush on Katy Wix. First of all, her task outfit is really cool (it's fun, it's safe, and it's visible!), the way she takes on the tasks is pretty much exactly what I think off when I hear the tasks read out loud, and she seems to be pretty quick witted as well. Oh well, just another contestant added to the ever growing list of crushes developed during this show...
I wish they had pointed out David trying to call Alex while wearing the stethoscope and pointing the end at the bins as if that would help in anyway. Not only did he make it harder to hear anything, but he also removed the ability to tell where any sound he might hear comes from.

i really wasn't expecting to like Jo because on other shows I just personally don't get her humour but i'm really growing to like her on this

I like that she's fairly easy going. There are some guests that feel like they're trying way too hard to "act like a comedian" but come off as fake instead.

That's a plus point of Taskmaster, in all the other shows, the panelists have to put out their material fast, they fight for the spotlight in a way. But the way Taskmaster is structured, there are a lot of opportunities for people to let their authentic self out.
i disagree, so far she has just been lazy and boring... don't really get the hype I see for her in the comments, might just be me I guess

I have already laughed harder at this season than I did during all of the previous. The energy in studio is so much better as well.
This series is rewatchable, with a really lovely cast and great studio energy (probably thanks to some genuine friendships). Series 8 was painful, in my opinion. Which is a shame as the format is watertight, and there were some really interesting tasks. This series is comfort viewing for me 😊

Only 2 episodes in and I am developing a Taskmaster crush on Katy Wix. First of all, her task outfit is really cool (it's fun, it's safe, and it's visible!), the way she takes on the tasks is pretty much exactly what I think off when I hear the tasks read out loud, and she seems to be pretty quick witted as well.
Oh well, just another contestant added to the ever growing list of crushes developed during this show...
I wish they had pointed out David trying to call Alex while wearing the stethoscope and pointing the end at the bins as if that would help in anyway. Not only did he make it harder to hear anything, but he also removed the ability to tell where any sound he might hear comes from.
Good to see them all sitting close together and a studio audience I've missed that in the past 2 series
Says so much about the show when each and every group of players are absolutely great and seems that they are having fun.
I'm not sure anything will ever beat David and Jo in that team task for me again. I cry laughed.
This show is honestly one of the best things ever
