Why did you cut the tire before removing it from the rim?
The tire was damaged and unusable anyway. Because it was a "tubeless" tire (with a tube inside) it has a much tighter fit that a standard tire. Cutting it away saved me a few minutes and required less prying on the rim. Cheers!
