, as a career musician and longtime fan of actual musicianship. I am seeing over and over in reaction videos that younger people are really being exposed to the awesome power of true composition and musical skill. I think there is potential for excellence in every genre hip hop randb Etc as well. However, Alex hits the nail on the head here that for thousands of years musicians played musical instruments it seems a basic concept but it got lost in this current ERA were programming and sampling and Beats excetera have been considered to be on the same level as say something Beethoven wrote that has endured for hundreds of years. Well, in truth know that shit is not as complicated or as hard as it was to learn to play an instrument well. And it seems like reaction videos are kind of coming to this place of Education and younger people are understanding just how amazing musicianship and real composition and musical knowledge can make you feel in your very soul. It can be magical. That is why great music endures.

On a serious note, I have seen both Metallica and Megadeath in concert. Metallica Thanksgiving 1991 in KC and it blew my mind. I saw Megadeath in Wichita, KS around the same time on the Countdown to Extinction tour at a smaller venue. Both shows were equaly impressive. The Megadeath show they played Sweating Bullets. Dave Mustane started the first line of the song and the crowd took over and sang the rest of it, and he let them. At the end of the song he was genuinely honored and thanked the crowd. He was damn near in tears that some obscure city in Kansas knew his song so well they could sign it back to him. I will never forget it.
Side note: The opening band was STP when they had 1 song on the radio called Sex Type Thing. I remember going to the show thinking "Who the hell are they??" and being blown away at their performance and thinking they are going places!!!!

This is exactly why we like your videos. You are very smart. You get it. Most people judge metalheads without knowing them. We are not all Devil worshipers. 2 members of Slayer are Christians but you would no know it just by listening to their music. We as a society want peace but are we prepared to give up our freedom for it. We would rather die than give that up. We say we want peace but at what cost. Is peace just an illusion. The unattainable. We are selling people the idea of peace but is it real. Dave got the idea for the song from a newspaper article. This is why we like Metallica and Megadeth. They wright about real life and thought providing issues. Rap music might have its place in music but the skill it takes to be this good is scary. I know people don't like Dave's voice but it fits very well with Megadeth's sound. In My Darkest Hour is a must.

Metal (at least the better stuff) often has a message and isn't boxed in with a bunch of rules (other than it must rock/be good) and is often performed by fricken virtuoso's of their craft. - And therefore it's "refreshing" to those of us that "get it". - Metal welcomes everybody and does not discriminate.....something that most people are quite surprised to learn.....the people/fans are typically super chill and burn energy/aggression in the pit.....nothing like a good pit!

Unlike Metallica - Dave has never strayed far from the original formula and it just works. I like the "different" Metallica albums (not counting Lulu), and I think their first 3 are definitely better overall than anything Megadeth has put out. But as far as consistency across their entire career - it's hard to beat Megadeth.

I had the same problem with Dave Mustaine's voice when a started listening to Megadeth. I didn't like it and also thought that James Hetfield is a lot better. As time went by I still continued to listen to Megadeth because the guitars and rest of the band were very impressive. The first album I owned was Rust in Piece and it was amazing, but after I listened to Cryptic Writings I just couldn't get enough of Dave's voice, it just gets better and better every time I hear him perform. I think you just have to get used to it over time and once you do you will definitely change your mind about his vocals. By the way I am a huge Metallica fan and I like them both equally.
