This documentary is an absolute treasure. Wonderfully done! I grew up with "The Big Four". I had Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax posters everywhere (Christian mom drew the line at a Slayer posters). This documentary brought back so many memories.
But not recognising his own destructive behaviour got him kicked out. Hate was his motivation. That's why he never enjoyed the success.. until he got clean. After that he was less hateful
I've been a serious Metallica/ Megadeth/ Thrash metal fan for 35 years and seen countless videos and documentaries on the history, and this was SERIOUSLY GOOD. It's really hard to find things like this with footage I've never seen before because I've seen so much over the years. But this had TONS that I've never seen before with some tidbits of old favorites thrown in as well. VERY GOOD job on this video! 🤘🤘🤘
I have been listening to them since 1984 and seen every documentary out there. This is by far the greatest piece of work I have yet to witness regarding the foundation of these bands. Incredible work.
They never let Jason write anything. He had to play what they wrote, just like the new guy is doing now. But hey I would have agreed to join Metallica for a million dollars. In some kind of monster They told him after auditions when they chose him. They told him, were are willing to give you a million dollars to join Metallica. Hell yeah!
Very moving and love the way it ended with Dave Mustaine invited to play on stage with Metallica and could do all the solos he wanted, “brought closure,” then, the “Big Four” on stage. 🖤
Yeah me neither. The part at the end when he talks to Lars was so humanizing to him. You can tell that he had thought about what he was saying and Lars was listening to him.
Yeah Dave gets a really bad rep. Mostly from Metallica fanboys that are fixated on the rivalry between bands. Dave definitely had a huge chip on his shoulder which resulted in him being kicked out, but there's so much more to the story that people don't know and try to make up shit about him. I'm a fan of both bands and can sympathize with both in the situation, but you can really see the betrayal that Dave felt. I'm so glad that it happened that way though because Megadeth truly has some amazing music that changed my life.
If Dave didn't have that chip on his shoulder, Megadeth wouldn't be as hard, fast or heavy. His anger basically sustained him for that period and made him a legend. He basically started Megadeth to get back at them. There should be a movie made about it. What a story.
I was so tired and needing my bed when I started this, but an hour and a bit later it was an hour of my life that I will never regret spending. A huge thank you to the author of this video for their efforts: it must have taken so much work, but that work is really really appreciated.
I was madly in love with Metallica in the 80s. I gained a lot of respect for Dave Mustaine today December 3rd 2023. Thank you for putting this together.
As a life long Megadeth fan, I gained a lot of of respect for Kirk Hammett when I watched his interview on Icons. Kirk is the glue that keeps Metallica together. Dave was lighter fluid. And I love Dave, but he belongs in and IS Megadeth.
Blending the stories of Metallica and Megadeth together in this particular style was nothing short of sheer brilliance, this was a fcking masterpiece!!! The anticipated duality was present in what I had presumed to be the same old oppositional perspective as it initially expounded upon the typical conflict and strife as usual, but I began to notice this slowly give way to the underlying consilience in the overall shared experience when looking at the bigger picture through the eyes of all involved in a singular viewing. This evolution in presentation allowed me to see all the sht that I've seen a million times before in a whole new light as well as giving me a renewed appreciation for the roles that every one of these guys played in creating an entirely new sound that changed my life in a profound way very early on. This never could've been achieved without giving very careful consideration to arrangement and order of appearance, this _clearly_ was not a matter of simply chopping these documentaries up, shuffling scenes around and slapping them back together again. This was meticulously thought out and implemented with near perfection, I honestly feel like whoever put this together could have a successful career in this field. I sat down to have dinner thinking that I'd watch yet another rehashed, ubiquitous Metallica Bay Area thrash scene doc while I ate and was proven dead wrong in the best way possible.
The blending made me appreciate a little more the response style of Mustaine. He had to out-Metallica Metallica. They were called Metallica so he was called Megadeth. Their first album was Kill Em All, so his was Killing Is My Business. He would have been difficult to be around for sure, but his musical genius went unparalleled. Except it was parallel with Metallica. So ... wait. I see what I did there.
This is, by far, the most telling and well-put together documentarian effort, of the lives and struggles of these two bands. Well documented and enlightening. Thank you for all within the making of this piece. Excellent!!!
What an AMAZING documentary! I’m in the last few minutes, and I read a comment that this is FAN MADE!? I didn’t even realize it until the end. Best Metallica and Megadeth documentary I’ve ever seen by far. Unbelievable talent you have man! I really enjoyed it and I learned so much. Thank you sincerely. 😎🤙🏼🎸🥁
This was really well done, and you used all the clips I would have chosen too, including that horrible clip of James and Lars on the radio right after Dave was fired. I'm sure if they ever heard that again they'd be so embarrassed in retrospect. Thanks for making this!
@Übermensch nah he's said a bunch of times since the 30th anniversary that he really respects Dave. James still doesn't really like him which is sad. He's called him a big mouth and delusional in the last 10 years. Lars has said he doesn't like talking bad about Dave since the 2001 meeting in some kind of monster.
@chris_michael_s not the same interview, the one you're interviewing is actually funny. The one I'm talking about is from 83 and they say some really awful stuff about how he was talentless and how they thought the whole thing with the bus was funny and etc
I actually find it really cool that Mustaine's entire motivation for Megadeth was revenge. There's something just so..... relatable about that. He could have reflected on his alcoholism and maybe thought about the kind of person he wanted to be, but no, I'm gonna make a new band that's more metal than Metallica. I actually think that's a great way to respond to bouts of intense self-reflection. Mustaine only played guitar on demand, but as long as he kept playing that probably kept him aligned with his better self and away from becoming an even worse alcoholic.
I think Dave really considered them friends and they meant a lot to him even though as a fucked up kid he couldn't express it. And the rest of the band didn't feel the same way. Some people can hit you in the face and get their ass kicked and that's normal to them--hell it's part of being family. Especially when alcohol is put into the mix. It doesn't really mean shit to you and you're surprised when people flip out over it. You're like well shit I didn't think you'd be THAT pissed off about it. I don't think he saw it coming and maybe if he'd have known history would have gone down a little differently.
This was 100% entertaining and probably the best comparison/explanation of the Metallica/Megadeth connections that I have ever seen. I thought I knew most of it, but I was wrong. Great job, really. This was the best I have ever seen on this subject.
Very nostalgic. I saw them a few times at that tiny club called The Woodstock concert theater in Anaheim, CA with Dave and Ron. Slayer also came up playing at the same club and one night Metallica and Slayer played on the same bill. I remember Metallica selling t-shirts out of the back of an old green station wagon in the parking lot and till this day that original black "Metal Up Your Ass" shirt is the only Metallica shirt that I'll wear.
I’ve been listening to and following these two bands for about 38 years and this compilation still deepens my love for these guys! This was soooo amazingly put together! A bunch of interviews seen before as well as some hidden treasures. Well done!
I never thought cliff hated mustaines playing with a passion but from the sound of his voice and the words tell it all. Makes sense why they didn't give him a second chance
Dave really wasn't much a lead guitarist in those days. His real strength was in composing riffs, but even there he didn't really become a musical force to be reckoned with until Peace Sells... I'd like to think Cliff heard that album and that Dave ultimately earned the respect of Cliff as a musician, but Cliff died only a week and a day after its release, so it's highly unlikely, unfortunately.
Great video! I’m 52 and a drummer since February 1988. My 55yo guitarist brother and 50yo bassist brother used to regularly rehearse RUSH songs @ Secret Studios (A, B & C) @ 250 Napoleon St here in my native San Francisco, Metallica’s former practice slot.

This was very cool. Great to have all the time lines put into place. Awesome. Everyone who has been in a band knows that not everyone is built to be in a band.
Something is cool about that picture with Dave and Kirk on the anniversary show. I never really done anything playing guitar but I remember when I started playing there was a fierce-ish competition between about a dozen of us who started playing around the same time. We’d talk trash about each other and eventually wind up jamming together and quickly find out that there was some things these other guys could do better than me and I could do some things better than they could but all the smack talking was just a part of it. Probably personal insecurities mostly lol . I think maybe there’s some of that at the professional level too.
47-year-old man I appreciate Metallica and Megadeth just Metallica gave me ride the lightning the first song I ever heard by them in Megadeth gave me hangar 18 the first song I ever heard from them. I’m glad it didn’t work out for Dave with Metallica because we got Megadeth And I love both these bands and I’ve seen them both and had a blast at each show. Thank you for awesome music.
I remember I was in 2nd grade, in elementary Boarding school. The dorm aides said this music was "the devil's music" but I loved that guitar sound so much. First song I ever heard was No Remorse and I listened to that song on tape about 100 times. I had to sneak out of the dorm and walk into the woods and I'd listen to that album for like 2 hours and then sneak into class. Awesome to see this how many years later. This was like 1985-86
Wait this was made by a fan? This was incredible and after all these years it made the connection between two of my favourite bands. Much love my man. This was amazing! ❤
Let's call it fate that Metallica kicked Dave Mustaine to the curb and that gave him that fire and get his act together to start Megadeth . It probably took Dave Mustaine 25 years to get over this, but now Megadeth is one of the best speed metal bands ever. We all know Metallica has a huge following, great music, great marketing , great musicians ... But if you have heard the body of work Megadeth has done over the years - they blow the doors off Metallica .. Megadeth's complex riffs, technical playing, variety of styles, songwriting, Dave's voice and they still pumping out great albums/ CDs today, in 2017 and at the 59th Grammy Awards Best Metal Performance "Dystopia " Megadeth won .. They are so freaking good, Incredible band! ,,,,,,,,,,,, RIP Cliff Burton! just not the same without him.
Agreed. Dave being pissed off gave him the energy, focus and spite to make an even better band. I think he probably just looks at Metallica selling more records and feels like he missed out, but he wouldv'e mellowed out in tallica just like they did... and then we wouldn't have had decades of consistent, aggressive, more complex metal. His flaws and that energy were the necessary ingredients for better music, but I'm not sure he's ever been able to really see that. He did surpass metallica, even if the sales don't reflect that.
Truly excellent documentary. It's like what they say about getting a divorce, you don't get divorced from someone, you get divorced TO them. This docu depicted the same concept. People on a parallel course, working out the pain of a failed relationship and tragedy, in the face of what could have been.
Some of my best friends i've met through "Can I bring my friend along", then the person who introduced me to his friend I don't even remember their name but the friend is some of the best friendships I've had. Odd phenomena. Like Lars described how he met James.
Whoever you are that created this video, God bless you. Out of so many reasons I'll just mention one. You realize Metallica has now catered to 3 to 4 decades/generations. That's how many people and how many kinds of people you're making happy with this video. All respect and appreciation to all whom have made Metallica.
Dave didn’t write master of puppets. Battery, fight fire with fire, fade to black, disposable heroes, Orion, should I keep going? Quit giving all the credit to a drunk egotistical asshole
@@coachjkuhnI think it’s really a matter of opinion. I’ve been playing guitar for 28 years and play all different genres and I personally like the less complicated stuff. I can play the complicated stuff but I think there’s a big difference between skill/speed and song writing. While I think Dave is an extraordinary guitarist, I think James and Lars are just better song writers. After all of the years I’ve been playing, I’d give myself a 7/10 as a guitar player and probably an 8/10 song writer. I prefer ride the lightning album over any of Megadeths stuff. Not to take away from Megadeth or anything…I just feel more emotion from Metallica. I’m personally not impressed by a guitar player who can melt your face off with riffs that are so fast that it sounds like the guitar is glitching out. It’s more of a novelty in my opinion. I don’t think dave is one of those types of guitar players though. I guess I’m just trying to say it all comes down to preference.
Dave’s stuff is fast and technical but every note makes sense and isn’t just fluff. Even the solos. As far as songs go, listen to Rust and Peace and try to objectively find ANY Metallica song that comes close to any thing on that album either musically or lyrically.

Great video. Dave gets a bad rap sometimes, much of which is his own doing, but Megadeth cannot be denied. Their last two albums crush the last few Metallica offerings.

You’ve done a superb job with this . Really appreciate the work. Thank you. Respect to all these musicians, what a journey they’ve been on. This is really about the humanity behind the music, rather than the music itself.
That was fantastic . I’m about to be 53 got into Kill Em All in early ‘84, and it was game over . I bought Ride The Lightning , new , off the shelf and here I am 43 years later .. Metallica might be my favorite , but man Mega-Dave is such a savage . Rust in Peace might be the best album of both Megadeth AND Metallica’s entire catalogs . This was far & away the best doc ive seen on these bands, Thanks to much for putting this together & telling the story of some of my all-time favorite musicians .
I would have never thought a documentary about a heavy metal band would bring tears to my eyes but when the song Heroes came on and they were showing all the clips of all the great legends in music .... I say no more.
James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Dave Mustaine the Godfathers of Thrash Metal, the influence this three had on the whole thing is not easy to meassure. However, Kirk Hammett and Cliff Burton´s influence on the thing should not be left aside, this guys even wrotte a couple of classic thrash tunes even before it was a thing with metallica. The next is a list, as far as i know from books, videos and media, of the earliest thrash songs by Metallica and eventually Megadeth written before the demos or the solidifictaion of the line up: - For Whom the Bell Tolls: Intro and main body written in 1977 by Burton with videos of Cliff at that year performing the song with the band named Agents of missfortune . - Creeping Death: The Bridge, written at 1977 by Kirk Hammett, performed in 82´by Exodus as "Dy by his hand" - : Trapped under ice: 1980 Main Riff and body written by Hammett, performed at 82´by Exodus, dunno the name though but eventually they lifted the Riff for the 04´song "Impaler", Kirk contributed with a solo on that same album, Tempo of the damned, but on a different song. cool. - Hit the lights: 1981´, Written by Hetfield performed originally by the band Leather Charm, eventually the first song by Metallica, first apparence in Metal massacre demo, before Dave got in - The Mechanix: 1981´Written by Dave Mustaine, performed originally in a band he was in and then in the band Panic! band in wich Dave was discovered. Performed with the original name by the M until KEA where it was renamed The Four Horsemen, performed by MD as "Mechanix" - Pulling Teeth: 1981 (maybe even earlier), Performed by Burton more famously on the band Trauma, in wich he was discovered. - Motorbreath: 1982´Written by Hetfiled alone, not many data on it tho. - Jump In the fire: Written by Mustaine when in Metallica already, Lars put together the pieces so here we talk about a fully formed Metallica, therefore no need to mention the rest of the songs cause the band was already in.
Did you forget about Iron maiden or Slayer, they were just as big in that time, Slayer is still belting out albums, their New Godless album was full of good stuff.
@@simplebutnotsolongname6642 I didin't mention that cause Exodus, like Overkill, though appear a year before Metallica where bands that had nothing to do with Thrash yet, It was in 82' that they jumped the boat. Back in the 80's no one could touch Metallica, including Megadeth, but today Megadeth crushes Metallica and has since the death of Cliff Burton. It's unfortunate how far Metallica has fallen. There attitude was amazing in the early days, as a teenager it gave me an identity and purpose. I've been a working musician since 1989, that drive to play in bands is due to my love for Metallica, at least they gave us three good albums. Mustain is way underrated, if you think about his journey, it's pretty amazing, he played in two of the big four, and Kerry King played in Megadeth for a minute as well. Best story of perseverance in music ever. This is a really good documentary, there are tons of 'em, this one is definitely up there.

I remember buying the first metallica Album in the 90s and man was that awesome. Then bought the second ... what an amazing record, then the third.... OMG so great and than I bought the fourth and it was kinda ok and that cool bass guitarist wasnt in the band picture and I thought "strange he must have left the band, man this sucks" and then someone told me died. Man I was so sad, that really got me. I later took up the bass to be like him although I switched to guitar after a while. I can still play Anaesthesia on bass guitar though 😀
The ENTIRE Metallica/Megadeth story should be a series. Not a movie, a series. It is so rich in story and tragedy... the show would basically write itself. Get a great cast and have them learn the instruments so that they can mimic properly and get it done. There are so many angles and players in the story. There is something about the Newstead arc that is borderline twisted. A story of a well to do young man joining an iconic band fresh after losing their friend and being basically abused by them and then channeling the obvious frustration into some of the most grizzly pure performances on stage... thats just one arc.
I love Metallica and also Megadeth. The one thing that makes me cringe in all of this is how the Metallica guys take joy in talking down and trashing other bands, ex-band members and their achievements. I've watched heaps of Metallica interviews and also live performances and they seem juvenile in how they deal with these situations. Be the bigger person guys, recognise you are industry leaders and support the little guys, don't trash them.

Yeah, let’s send that pretty momma’s boy back home!”
That’s the way I see it? What say you brapamaldi?
You can hear when they ran out of Dave's material. Justice was the first album that they had to write all the material without Dave.
Love him or hate him Dave is brutally honest and you have to respect a man who can look you in the eye and say you hurt me and that’s not okay!
Put Gary in! Where'z Gary!!!!?
He's not honest.
He's still trying to pretend that everything that happened to him was someone *_else's_* fault. He's got nobody but *_himself_* to blame.
When he learns to take a bit a accountability for his own actions, _then_ we can start calling him honest.

This documentary is an absolute treasure. Wonderfully done! I grew up with "The Big Four". I had Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax posters everywhere (Christian mom drew the line at a Slayer posters). This documentary brought back so many memories.
I love that interview that went something like, "Why would you listen to Metallica instead of Slayer?"
Hetfield: "You're not into Satan?"
Jesus was jewish!!
Total respect towards Dave for being so truthful about the pain of parting ways instead of playing the tough guy who doesn't care.
Ron McGovney seems like a humble man, and Not bitter. Good on him. 👍
He said some hilarious things about the first jam he and James had with Lars. Wasn't impressed with his ability
I can definitely relate to his mindset. He didn't want a pickle; just wanted to ride his motorcicle.
@@morgellon7877he didn’t wanna die. he just wanted to ride his motorcy.

He was way too genuine to be a rock star.
He's no drama queen. 👍
I have been listening to them since 1984 and seen every documentary out there. This is by far the greatest piece of work I have yet to witness regarding the foundation of these bands. Incredible work.
The other 3 members bullying Jason is the worst that Metallica had done
Ron also, Ron seems like an all around good guy.
What they did to Dave was brutal
@@daniellapointe2624Not really, they were right to fire him
He could have quit if he couldnt take it. Its so sad how soft men are today. Complaining about bullying in a metal band... Unreal.
I really loved all those scenes with Dave talking with his former bandmates. Tons of respect for him, for all of them.
Honestly this was so humanizing for Dave. Ill never look at him the same way again.
Ditto. Keep Thimplin'Thumplin'' them keys, omma cum
I have seen all the documentaries on megadeth and metallica , this is probably the best one yet, thanks for putting this together man!!
For something not intended as a documentary, this is a solid labor of love throughout. Also, hearing Motorhead cover Heroes gets me every time.
Motorhead always did the best covers.
Not denying Motorheads covers but Type O Negative has amazing covers on their albums (and b-sides) as well.
Hell yeah ✌️😁🤟
The blending made me appreciate a little more the response style of Mustaine. He had to out-Metallica Metallica. They were called Metallica so he was called Megadeth. Their first album was Kill Em All, so his was Killing Is My Business.
He would have been difficult to be around for sure, but his musical genius went unparalleled. Except it was parallel with Metallica. So ... wait. I see what I did there.
Presumptuous!
This is, by far, the most telling and well-put together documentarian effort, of the lives and struggles of these two bands. Well documented and enlightening. Thank you for all within the making of this piece. Excellent!!!
Excellent documentary. I know a lot of it was compiled from many sources, but there were a lot of interviews on here that I'd never heard before.
Not Lars, for sure, he'd probably joke about it
@Übermensch nah he's said a bunch of times since the 30th anniversary that he really respects Dave. James still doesn't really like him which is sad. He's called him a big mouth and delusional in the last 10 years. Lars has said he doesn't like talking bad about Dave since the 2001 meeting in some kind of monster.
I seriously thought that was Dave that called in on the radio
@chris_michael_s not the same interview, the one you're interviewing is actually funny. The one I'm talking about is from 83 and they say some really awful stuff about how he was talentless and how they thought the whole thing with the bus was funny and etc
Can someone put the timestamp of this clip?
I actually find it really cool that Mustaine's entire motivation for Megadeth was revenge. There's something just so..... relatable about that. He could have reflected on his alcoholism and maybe thought about the kind of person he wanted to be, but no, I'm gonna make a new band that's more metal than Metallica. I actually think that's a great way to respond to bouts of intense self-reflection. Mustaine only played guitar on demand, but as long as he kept playing that probably kept him aligned with his better self and away from becoming an even worse alcoholic.
That's what men that drink are like..some do it from the gutter some do it from their own jet air plane
This is extremely impressive, one of the best documentaries I've ever seen, great job
That ending with Motorhead's version of Heroes was epic, well done!
Watched every second. VERY well-made video. Props.
I’ve been listening to and following these two bands for about 38 years and this compilation still deepens my love for these guys!
This was soooo amazingly put together! A bunch of interviews seen before as well as some hidden treasures. Well done!

Great doc. Cool to see it come full circle and have closure, not only for dave, but all the guys that have been part of both bands and the big four

Imagine if every band documentary was directed by a fan. This video was epic!
I can’t believe what a amazing job you did assembling this video!🤘🏻🤘🏻
Superb documentary. Better than anything I've ever seen on a TV!
This was like 1985-86
I still think there is a universe out there with Cliff and Dave still in the band!
100% there is. There's also a version of Metallica somewhere where you and I are in the band. The universe is infinite, or close enough 😅
This is Gold, thank you for putting this together
There's a reason why Metallicas old stuff is the best...
I've watched a TON of these look backs. This one is my favorite! We're putting together a Big 4 tribute band and I'm sending this to the boys🤘
Truly excellent documentary. It's like what they say about getting a divorce, you don't get divorced from someone, you get divorced TO them. This docu depicted the same concept. People on a parallel course, working out the pain of a failed relationship and tragedy, in the face of what could have been.
Wow, Dave's voice sounds much better in this compared to when he performed this song in 2017. Absolutely great to hear!
Some of my best friends i've met through "Can I bring my friend along", then the person who introduced me to his friend I don't even remember their name but the friend is some of the best friendships I've had. Odd phenomena. Like Lars described how he met James.
This was an amazing doc. Stuff I have seen before mixed with stuff I have never seen with dialog that matters. Well Done!!!
We can say that Mustaine is probably the king of Thrash. He wrote those riffs
mustaine is thrash
Dave didn’t write master of puppets. Battery, fight fire with fire, fade to black, disposable heroes, Orion, should I keep going? Quit giving all the credit to a drunk egotistical asshole
Agreed, I play Guitar (Amateur). Learned many Metallica Songs, but few Megadeath songs. He was FAR more complicated to copy.
Rockin’ Rockumentary! Professionally done and gave me the answers to so many questions. Thanks a million for covering two of my favorite and most important bands in rock history!

The next is a list, as far as i know from books, videos and media, of the earliest thrash songs by Metallica and eventually Megadeth written before the demos or the solidifictaion of the line up:
- For Whom the Bell Tolls: Intro and main body written in 1977 by Burton with videos of Cliff at that year performing the song with the band named Agents of missfortune
.
- Creeping Death: The Bridge, written at 1977 by Kirk Hammett, performed in 82´by Exodus as "Dy by his hand"
- : Trapped under ice: 1980 Main Riff and body written by Hammett, performed at 82´by Exodus, dunno the name though but eventually they lifted the Riff for the 04´song "Impaler", Kirk contributed with a solo on that same album, Tempo of the damned, but on a different song. cool.
- Hit the lights: 1981´, Written by Hetfield performed originally by the band Leather Charm, eventually the first song by Metallica, first apparence in Metal massacre demo, before Dave got in
- The Mechanix: 1981´Written by Dave Mustaine, performed originally in a band he was in and then in the band Panic! band in wich Dave was discovered. Performed with the original name by the M until KEA where it was renamed The Four Horsemen, performed by MD as "Mechanix"
- Pulling Teeth: 1981 (maybe even earlier), Performed by Burton more famously on the band Trauma, in wich he was discovered.
We also gotta give Kirk His credit, since he started one of the First Thrash Metal Bands, Exodus, earlier than Metallica.
But Kirk definetly deservws props for It, his conteibutions for exodus where mainly buried from the public eye though after the band gor Jelous when Kirk left. It's all good now anywaj.
@@billsimmons2898 I focused on the guys that pushed the gente and of wich the video was about mainly. OFC Slayer had a lot to do with the thing at the begining. Maiden? Yes they are influential but had little to do with the scene, of all thing, must of the people cité Venom, Holocaut, Anvil, Saxon, Motorhead and The Misfits as more influential.
Mustaine is recognized by many in the genre as THE guy that made Trash what it is.
You sir are amazing for creating this gem. I’ve watched ‘em all and this one is my favourite. You’ve got sound bites in here from interviews I have never heard. I’d love to know some of the sources. Cliff em All really light a fire under my ass as a kid. The terrible VHS copy I was able to obtain.

Awesome video.I heard them in 84 saw them in 86 with Cliff and still listen to those first 4 albums way too much 😂🤘🏻
Best Documentary on Metallica and Magadeath. Period.. great fn work
Back in the 80's no one could touch Metallica, including Megadeth, but today Megadeth crushes Metallica and has since the death of Cliff Burton.
Amazing documentary !! And even though my English isn't perfect, I watched it like a movie that you don't want to miss a word of. I recently had to translate some. I feel all these guys as my real friends because I've been following them since I was 14 and now I'm 54 and I still listen to them and learn about them with the same passion as in my youth. I'm crazy about Metallica especially and of course I own all their records.
This dedication to the big 4 is amazing and in a professional way.. Thank you very much Ludwik!
Bruh! I was in high school from '85. I've been a Metal Head ever since. These men have influenced my life immeasurably. I became a drummer because of this music. And this is one of the greatest documentaries on the subject I've ever seen. Well done, and thank you!
I would totally watch it
I love Metallica and also Megadeth.
This is very well made! Was amazing watching it.
Excellently presented documentary! But can we all acknowledge the credits at the end? Truly, the icing on the cake!
two of the greatest bands of all time, so great we get to listen to both bands
Honestly, came here to complain that isn't about thrash but about Metallica. But you had so much passion making this, I stuck around and enjoyed it 👍
"They called me for six months" that is such a massive compliment
Great job. I've heard these stories many times already but just sat through this whole video. One of the better documentaries.
