I saw the Metallica/Guns tour in Las Cruces NM in 92. It was a trip to hear James sing without playing guitar. His vocals were flawless. John Marshall was loving it up on stage. That was the best show I have ever seen Metallica do and I've been going to Metallica shows since Ride the Lightning. A couple months later I went to El Paso TX to see Ozzy, Alice in Chains and Sepultura. 1992 seemed to be the year for lead singers getting injuries on tour. When Alice in Chains hit the stage, Layne Staley was pushed out in a wheelchair with a broken leg. They put on a badass show too. 1992 was a great year for metal shows.

Still have my stub from that show: $29.50 with all service charges & taxes incl for decent seats. When I saw them in 2017 in NJ, I paid $100 for nosebleeders. 12:06 Uh they did more than give you a run for your money Ozzy. That concert in 86 came to my mid sized hometown in PA (the last time Metallica ever played there) & while I didn't attend because I was only 11 & no way my parents would've let me go to an Ozzy concert, every single person I ever talked to who did go to that concert said Metallica was hands down the best act of the night
