What emotional, touching moments. I loved seeing Contraras show his affection and respect for both former teammates.
Contreras greeting them both with hugs, reminiscing of Yadier when Pujols returned to St Louis as an Angel. These guys will always be linked by great memories, specially 2016.

As hard as it is, we were trying to get a jump start on a second rebuild. Unfortunately for us, that sadly meant losing many key players from that historic 2016 squad, including these two.
@@nicholashalom1632 I was surprised we didn't resign Schwarber a little, but Lester was obviously on a steep decline. I was a little surprised he found another job so quick to be honest. I love the guy, but, it was time to say goodbye.
@@nicholashalom1632 I understand but your letting 2 players who are favorites among the fans and letting them walk in free agency won't get you anywhere either with the fans or with the rebuild.
@@something3492 we experienced the same thing with Starlin in 2015, and look what happened the next year. It always takes time to develop a championship squad, and these two are needed elsewhere at the moment. My hope is that they will have a similar situation to what Jake (Arrieta) had, minus the injuries, and come back in the future.
Spirit of game should be there, no matter for which team one play. Good show by Cubs fans and respect for Kyle & Jon.

Harper got booed because he threw the entire organization, including the fans, under the bus, after he was the number one fan favorite throughout his whole stint. If Jon Lester badmouthed the Cubs, and implied that Cubs fans didn't appreciate him, in his first press conference as a Nat, don't you think that would kind of *irk* you? Harper deserved to get booed.

As a Red Sox fan I will always will love Lester for those two championships ‘07 and ‘13 and all my respect on the ‘16 with the cubs, a great guy and a future hall of fame.
I really really love and hope Jon Lester big dude gets to be a coach soon or manager he will be such a great leader
What a wonderful example of true sportsmanship by the cubs fan. The 2016 world series team was not only a great team on the field, you could tell that they were also such great friends. They gave cubs fans what they've dreamed of and hoped for the past 108 years. And the standing ovation for Kyle and Jon was a sincere thank you for their part in giving cubs fans that sweet victory!! All the best to Kyle and Jon. And to all the players on the 2016 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!! GO CUBS GO!!

I've always liked the Nationals jerseys and love their stadium, went in 2010 (day after Strasburg debut) and 2013. And now that they have Lester, Schwarber AND STARLIN CASTRO who everyone sadly forgets about, they're currently my "other" NL team.
I’ll always be a cubs fan 1st but whenever the Padres, Angels, & Nats play, I hope they win or at least the former cubs do well
I shouldnt compare them, and I love Schwarber, but man I really really miss Lester. He changed this franchise!! Theres no way we win in 16 without him.. no way.
