      Screw the Ricketts family ! The club won the series in 2016 and now its back to mediocrity and the owners lining their pockets with the highest ticket prices in MLB . See you in 110 more years !

    Really ? He would have played for way less and you still didn't keep him. I wonder about that front office sometimes. Way to go management. Letting go a true Cub and a damn good pitcher. Ya could have let him finish out his carrier in Chicago. Well at least Davy and the Nationals know what their getting. A damn good Cubs pitcher and a great human being. Good luck Jon.     Jon Lester's free agent signing has been worth every cent of it.
    The Ricketts was too cheap to sign Lester in 2021.
    As far as I'm concerned, the Lester signing should go down as one of the best free agent signing in MLB history.

    Its not looking good for the cubs right now but I'll tell you that in the nearby future a young kid with the number 21 will come up and change this organization forever and bring many championships to the north side if chicgao once again. Just you wait and see.

    It shouldn't feel more depressing (to me anyway) than before the World Series. Your HUGE DIEHARD fanbase, packing Wrigley and other stadiums during 100 win AND loss seasons, deserves a lot better than this kind of offseason. There's no excuse a franchise like the Chicago Cubs can't field a contender every year. Even more so now after the World Series. I'm not even talking WS contender. Just contending for the division/playoffs every year is fine...of course with World Series windows too.

    I know Big Jon didnt have much left in the tank. But you brought Lackey in when he had NOTHING left. Lester was a LEADER both on and off the field and should have been brought back to be the #5 this year so fans at least got a chance to see him in a Cubs Uniform and say Thank you fr what he brought to this Team.

    Lester was such a F'ing gamer. I literally lost sleep as a Sox fan following his Free Agency and days after his decision. Happy for him and his success with the Cubs and just wish he was a Sox lifer.

    I know we're rebuilding or cutting payroll or whatever they think they are doing, but this one hurts. I think that Lester would bring WAY more than $4 million worth of value to all of our new young pitchers by showing them the right way to play the game.
    He will be missed, and I will be rooting for him.

    They also trade away darvish without even telling him.
