"One constant through all the years Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, it's a part of our past Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and it could be again." - James Earl Jones
Mannnn it woukd have been really awesome if James was there too.
@J Indy1844 I just posted a little something a lot of people don't know regarding the film. It was the first film I ever seen in a movie theater and thank God because it's been my favorite movie since! And then after I watched the second disc from the box set which was " THE MAKING OF FIELD OF DREAMS" the movie I thought I couldn't love anymore... I LOVED TWICE AS MUCH! I urge you to read what I wrote and then maybe look into it yourself because if you love this movie the way I did and still do you'll get chills as you watch this! Thanks buddy.
BTW... A week later I seen my 2nd BIG SCREEN FILM and what turned out to be my second favorite movie and a classic forever. "BEETLEJUICE!" IT BLOWS MY MIND THAT THOSE TWO AMAZING MOVIES WERE IN THEATERS AT THE SAME TIME 🤯
@@GetToughOrDie I remember getting my copy of this movie on an Easter Sunday when I was 5 I'm 29 now and fell in love with the movie. I'm gunna try and find that the making of the movie though.
Thanks for the chills
To be honest. This was one of the most beautiful games I've ever watched.
That walk off..Wow I didn't expect that. 💘 baseball
If you ask me, it was one of the worst, and that's even with my team having won.
For one person who smiles there are ten people who frown. Also for every one person who laughs there is 100 who rage in anger.
Miserable people will always be miserable and it's their fault as they made and continue to make terrible choices and will always blame it on and be constantly angry at the world.
@Jason, very well put. 👌
@@lukesterling2276 Well I don’t ask you. And I don’t know how you can think it’s the worst lol
The most beautiful event I’ve ever witnessed. The game was pure today.
As I’m sitting here watching the game I just can’t believe it it is so beautiful this made my evening. Thank you MLB and Iowa. God bless you all
The coolest thing baseball has done in my lifetime. They should consider this the Hall of Fame game of baseball from now on
I LOVE this idea.
When nostalgia hits you…. Incredible! This made me long for a simpler time.

Baseball finally did something right. This was spectacular, and brings so many wonderful memories.
Where was Bob Costas & Ken Burns? My goodness, they would be drooling.⚾️
MLB playing politics. We're not buying it.
It was great seeing Kevin he is such a classy guy and I just love him. It gave me goosebumps, great touch to special event
We needed to be brought together, if only for a little while. Field of Dreams did that, and what a riveting baseball game:. White Sox vs Yankees. White Sox wins at bottom of the 9th inning; 9-8. It just doesn't get any better than that.
Did trump say something about the game!
@@waynestein3081, why spoil it with anything he'd have to say? He would claim that the White Sox cheated the Yankees, and the ⚾ that Tim Anderson hit, and that sailed into the corn field, and won the game was a foul ball. The referees called it wrong. Did you really need to hear that? I didn't think so.
you people sound insane
@@lodisdinwiddie1509 . No. He would have pointed out the Houston Astro’s cheating scandal a few years back and the point shaving Chicago black Sox. He only points out true cheating.
Makes you miss being a kid, playing catch with your dad. Times when life seemed simple. A few minutes of happiness in these messed up times.
Thank you....you said play catch with your dad....not have a catch .....major major mistake to anyone who knows base
My dad never played catch with me.
@@CBastemeyer Same man. Already play catch with my toddler and this will only reinforce that.
Not all of us grew up in the US! Lol but I can appreciate your sentiment
Your lucky your father played catch with you. Mine didn't.
I got chills and a huge tug in my heart watching this because it's about America and the simple things that define it. Plain and simple, yet so powerful on priorities!!
Not gonna lie- last night could have been the coolest thing I have ever seen in sports. I don't cry often but last night brought tears to my eyes.
I'm not into sports cause of the "wokeness", but this moved me to tears.
I teared up remembering what baseball USED to be like, when I was a kid in the 90’s. No politics, no division, no hatred, just good ole baseball. Maybe we can one day have that again.
@@gracedavid4235 baseball has been pretty good at ignoring the wokeness.....much better than NBA or NFL for sure.
20 minutes away from the field. Can feel the vibes in the humid August Iowa air.
That’s corn sweat bro
When the players walk in from the cornfields, that was the quite possibly the best player introductions in the history of baseball.
it is!
@@jorgeisaacdoblesmata9137 haha I revisited this as well recently. Looking forward to this year's game tonight!

Talk about goose bumps. First, the scene with Ray Kinsella and his Dad, John that gets me every time. The players emerging from the corn. Powerful. Thanks to all involved.
This was one of the best events in sports history. Well done MLB
One of the most amazing sports moments in history. This gave me chills and brought me to tears. What an amazing day and what a great game to watch.
This will be remembered forever, what a story book ending. The Field of Dreams made true on it's promise.
This was so well done. I got emotional. What beautiful place. Kevin Costner was the cherry on top.

I watched this with my dad as well. He taught me the game as a kid..RIP old man...Well done Kevin and MLB..
Is this Heaven? No, it's Iowa. God bless the United States and all it's sons of liberty. May freedom and our rights never perish and the American Dream, never, ever, die.
The whole intro and game were beautiful. Having Kevin Costner open, and walk out onto the field was great. Then, seeing BOTH TEAMS come out together from the corn was amazing! Breathtaking! The whole intro was perfectly executed. Amazing job. Well done.
This is what sports is all about! No politics, No worldly issues, or disagreements amongst our country. Just people watching a friendly game of baseball and enjoying the moment!
Was......was about
And also movie inspired Matches.
Yeup, just a Friendly game of good ole fashion baseball!
MLB owners would rather pay peanuts to Latino players than to pay American college players their fair market value. 2 years worth of American College players just had 2 seasons stolen and some had careers ruined over the flu. Meanwhile on the Southern Border the replacements are on the way…..
@@Dalegot07 unless they come on a raft. For some reason those refugees get turned away. Its a crazy world we live in.
One of the coolest sporting events I've ever seen and honestly any event. Everything about this was perfect. The field, the intro, Costner, the teams, the game, and obviously the finish. Refreshing to see something this awesome. Glad I have this recorded.
Wish I had it recorded. I could watch it everyday and still be tearing up. I had goosebumps watching all the players and Kevin Costner coming out of the corn field.
Not only did it bring me chills watching it live, it still gives me chills, not only one of the greatest moment's in baseball, but in all sports!
I needed a cry and to feel good, even for just a night. Well done MLB!!
heres a tissue
As a 7 year old kid in Chicago I would watch the White Sox game and when they Sox hit a home run I would run to the back and look at the fireworks in the kitchen. I'm 57 know 😊
This was breathtaking to watch. It was so emotional, beautifully done. It's a masterpiece that will stand the test of time. Well done MLB, Kevin Costner's presence was so natural and perfect.
