IMPORTANT TIPS: This headset works with vive trackers or bastions 1.0.
If you buying the controllers separately know that they do not work on headsets with inside-out tracking out of the box such as the rift s or HP reverve g2. You will need to do a lot of work to get these headsets to recognize the controllers.
Thanks for the extra info! We will pin this for others to see (:
Not me getting my headset today and excitedly setting it up and being confused when it didnt turn on...forgot the power button. Lol. Thank you for the tutorial!
I thought you were gonna say you thought it was standalone I was shocked
@@imnot4chriss If only xD
Oh snap, thank for for this y'all. This specific tutorial/setup video helped me out especially when it came to the whole Base Station placing. Idk I'm a visual learner....so I'm just weird like that I guess.. Anyways once again gracias! Soon I'll be in VR and making a fool of myself.
Glad to hear it helped out! Happy VRing haha
Nice video mate
Thanks!

Ty ty (: we’ll keep working at it!
The box looks 😋
Im glad to know i need Display Port. As i did not originally have one when I first wanted an index. Glad my 3060 has 3 display ports.
When I see this video I'm asking myself how can this man have so much luck having such a sweet, pretty, charming
headset?!
😂😂 very very comfy
Gaming chair 🤣
What cables you use to connect the trackers to whatever you did?
Now that's a table if I ever seen one
very chill underrated channel
Bought mine a week ago. Gonna be waiting a long time. 😔😩 at least I have 5 other headsets other than the valve index 😂😅
That's a lot of headsets!!!! I think the controllers are really the game changer though 😎
@@HBC2000 yeah i know and they are really cool i know this is late but yeah
What was I trying to say lol
love the jokes really brightened my day thank you :)
Glad to hear ☺️
just wondering, does the valve index kit come with wall mounts or do you buy them separately?
I just got it yesterday and yes it does come with wall mounts
What do the base stations plug into
They connect wirelessly to the computer! They plug into a wall outlet via cables provided for power.
Thank god my overpriced gaming laptop scored "perhaps" on the steam "can you run valve index?" Test, i can finally play Bone works which has been sitting in my steam library since the dawn of time!
so I ordered my valve index on June 1 of this year, but I'm still waiting on my payment and shipping email. it is currently August 13 and I have hit a total of 10 weeks of waiting at the moment. Do you think the email might come soon?
We waited for 10 weeks! From multiple sources people seem to experience varied wait times from 6 weeks to over 10 weeks. Fingers crossed for you that the email comes soon! I would imagine the bulk of your waiting is over for sure!
I had to wait 12 weeks, so long wait times are definitely possible.
njarg86 :o that’s the longest time we’ve heard yet!
@@HBC2000 Once I paid it only took 3 days for the delivery, so that's good I guess :p
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you.
Nice video, do you think it's worth it after having it for a little while?
Going to be buying this in the coming week or so.
Sorry for the late reply! Hope you’re now enjoying one now. So far so good, really great for entertaining friends as well who have never seen something like it haha. Still hoping for more triple a content for it one day though!
@@HBC2000 I got one now, it’s awesome! I use it everyday! Way too addictive 😂
5:00 sounds like dreams laugh
just a little deeper
i am purchasing 2 basestations for the varjo aero my question is do you need to plug each base station seperate in wall outlet or can you plug in one and the other reads off the one you pluged in
I’m not sure! I believe that both need to be plugged in independently! There is only one power in that I know of on each base station and I don’t know of any splitter on the market. Hope that helps!
I don't know if you will see this, I know they have bundles on valve for the index. Do you need base stations to use the valve index?
Greetings! Definitely see this 😉 If you buy the kit it comes with everything! To keep it simple, the short answer is yes, you need base stations to use the index. The base stations use positional tracking to know where the headset is in a virtual space! You can use the controllers and headset with other brands base stations that use steam vr tracking from what I know though!
@@HBC2000 どもありがと!
Yes
I am gonna buy one I am going to come back when i do and right now it is curently 11:51 April 14 2024
question: do the lighthouse boxes need to see each other?
My room has a dip in the ceiling. I'm on the inside corner of the complex. So if I put the boxes up high, they both can see the play area, but they can not see each other. Is that OK?
In our experience we have set up the base stations at seemingly “high angles” of vision to eachother but they still detect in the virtual space. That being said we can not say if they work without seeing eachother because we have not tested the limit of “vision”. Before permanently mounting, it could be a good idea to test the angle at which they can see eachother and go from there! The ideal set up is opposite sides of the playing field but I can say that with two base stations I have not seen many adverse side effects having them at an angle as well. That being said you may have other options for mounting them! Just ideas and if anyone with different experiences want to chime in that would be great! (:
Also a brief search indicates there may be much different results depending on v1 or v2 base stations. V2 seems to have a different method of establishing its physical location that lends itself to not needing direct vision. This is just preliminary information hope this helps! Let us know if you find anything out and will pin it! (:
@@HBC2000 I just saw an article about game centers, and they have a layout drawn, where all their boxes are in a line, against a curtain, side by side, and back to back with the next player section. So two rows of 3, facing in opposite directions, to give 2 players a VR experience in a small location. The outside 2 are facing inward at 45 degrees, so if the boxes field of view is more than 45 degrees L/R, then they should see each other, even though not directly facing each other, but the center box shouldn't see either of the other 2, unless the box has a FOV of over 180.
They didn't say what system they use, so I don't know if it's Valve. They also didn't show the controllers, just the boxes.
I'm also trying to figure out if the boxes can be hung upside down, since I can mount on my ceiling, but not on my cement walls. The pipes in the ceiling can be clamped with a camera mount clamp, but that means the mount faces down. The boxes have holes in the bottom and back.
I may be able to mount it to the back, and do a 90 degree rotation with the mount head.
Woa a 2 player set up seems wild, especially with the pc set up. From what I can see online the best I can see is rumors that they can be mounted upside down. I don’t see any solid information though, it may be something to test out before committing to. We could definitely try it out on our set up since it is limbo currently to give a better answer!
@@HBC2000 My Valve should get here in a few days. I'll test it out. I have to dig around for my camera mounts. I'll let you know how it works, if I try it first.
Yeah, the article said that up to 2 headsets could use the same 2 boxes, as long as they were in the same game. They had a room about 8 x 12 meters divided by a curtain, hung from the ceiling that stopped about 1 meter off the floor. The boxes for each "room" faced away from the curtain. They had 3 on each side. That was their set up. I only have 2 boxes. the 2nd Gen ones coming.
6:22 is that cable something u need to use cause i dont have something like that for when my valve comes here
I’m trying to run my valve headset but my desktop doesn’t have a DisplayPort.😮what do I do?
Time for a new gpu 😅
Oh no seriously that sounds really hard and expensive
It’s not too difficult on the scale of swapping it as much as it may be on the expensive side. You can always look used as well!
banger song choice
This reminds me of paranormal activity 1
anddd its gone is from south park
Nice
But why did you skip the part where you actually plug it in
nice
Quick question how do you set up the controllers to the headset
whats the little cable they gave me that goes with the headset if i use the cord why do i need the charger they gave
Hi I know its been a while, but I was going to get one but I have about the same amount of room or even less my bedroom is only 6.5 feet by 5 ft not big at all. Will I be okay?
Sorry for the late reply! It’s a little small for space, but it just depends on if you want to rely more on locomotion or body tracking. I would say it’s totally doable in a small space if you use locomotion primarily. The fence gives good boundaries and even if the space is large I would say you wouldn’t be moving around with tracking too much! Hope that helps, just my experience (:
@@HBC2000 Thwnk you so much for replying I honestly forgot thank u so much
*thanks
You guys are cute, I'm about to pull the trigger on mine, just got the email!
Thanks ^_^ & congrats!! It feels like winning the lottery getting that email!
XriiS _ when you order it you get put on a wait list until they fulfill the orders before you. Basically there is a back order on them so you can expect to “wait” 8 weeks or more until you can pay and checkout. You typically get the index 5 or so days after you get the confirmation email!
how long did it take you to get your email?
Hayden Murphy roughly 10 weeks, but it seems the queue has gotten longer since the time we ordered ours!
I ordered the valve index about a week ago, it states on the page that it ships within 2 weeks... Less than a week later it was delivered to my door.
🎵 Song name ❓
The music is linked in the description, you can find the producer of that track on SoundCloud under the name Kae Uh. I can’t reference the track name off the top of my head but his full discography is available on band camp which is where that particular track lives!
It really did sound like a sheep!
If i had a good enough pc i would buy one…
Pc parts prices be like 📈 rn 😣
oredered my valve index 2 weeks exactly ago, when do you think it will get here
I wait 20 weeks for my Index so you need to wait.
I had to wait exactly 12 weeks to get it from ordering day to delivering day.
our took 10 weeks so I guess we got lucky! 😅
What type of monitors you have?
We have dell sd2716 monitors, good price for 1440 1ms response time and 144hz refresh rate! (:
@@HBC2000 Oh I see and do you mind telling me where you guys brought it?
We got one from Best Buy on sale for 350 and the other one off of amazon used “like new” for 280!
does it come with a hdmi adapter
No it does not and to my knowledge it will not work with without being plugged into a display port directly. There were some weird work arounds on Reddit but imo they are more complicated than worth to pursue.
Straight to the poin.. oh wait no.
how good of a computer do i need
pewdiepie minecraft
good point
Neat video, but your playspace is way too small.
Luckily that wont be a issue for too much longer! In upcoming videos we are going to show our new setup as we are moving to a bigger space (:
When did you order your index?
I dont have an exact date on hand but it took exactly 10 weeks to get the purchase option and then about 5 days to ship! I think I read that fulfillment should be picking up soon, but if you are waiting I would say at least the 8 weeks wait would be realistic until they say otherwise.
@@HBC2000 Ok because i have waited over 12 weeks now and i have not got anything
Ahh thats a long wait, fingers crossed for you, it shouldnt be too much longer. Just keep checking for that email!
@@zyxer6058 I wait 20 weeks for my Index so you need to wait.I should get my index today
I oredered mine less than a week ago and it was delivered today.
its been 10 weeks it still says "Ships in 8 or more weeks"
Mine took almost 15 total weeks before it changed from 8 weeks to 5 weeks, and then it only took 2 days to change from 5 weeks to payment. The line is brutally long.
You look like Jimmy Fallon if he was a real person.
lmao real talk jimmy fallon used to babysit a family member of mine in NY back in the day
@@HBC2000 Oh, no way! By the way, I watched this video to be sure I was setting up my own Valve Index correctly, and it was very helpful. It was kind of an impulse buy, but I stream on Twitch and post the videos on RUclips, and I'm hopeful the VR will bring in some fresh traffic.
Nice! Glad to hear it helped out (: def will look out for your vids! Good luck and wish you success on your endeavor!

What pc do you have
At the time it was a pc we built with a 2070 super and 2700x, we have since built another and run it with a 3080 and 5950x. PC build is also on our channel although we are very much so not professionals lol
