- I’m making a dining table from ash logs and epoxy resin, and I flatten it with a homemade flattening jig. I’m also using the Shaper Origin for inlays and the Domino XL for joinery on the tablebase. I couldn't have done all the resawing without my Laguna 18BX bandsaw.
The table is for sale here:

Jespers notes about the video:
All the wood in this build is sourced 100 meters from my workshop, where about 50 ash trees have been dead for more than 10 years due to a flood. I’m talking about a customer that requested the table, and this is true. I had consistent contact with them during the build. It’s also true that the circumstances I mention in the video prevented them from paying for the table - they were especially hard hitten by the energy crisis - and so am I. It’s a real thing for all households in Europe. I didn’t want to pursue them for breaking our deal and they are really sorry about the situation - I’m sure they will be back another time when all this is over, and my thoughts are with all the brave people of Ukraine.
I’m very fortunate to have a lot of friends in the maker world. Some of them are participating in this video, and they are not being mean to me. Everything they say has been written by me for entertaining purposes. I started out making everything from pallet wood, and I love building from pallet wood. There is a pallet wood community out there, but we are NOT hunting each other down for not using pallet wood, but we do encourage each other to use reclaimed wood. I dramatized the bit with Mark Dainer, who is a very close friend, to make a funny statement about the pallet wood community and build up to a surprising end of the video. And my next video is a pallet wood build…
I have been able to get a good amount of tools in my shop over the last year. I’m not a full time woodworker, and because I also have another job that supports my cost of living, I’m able to put everything I make from the woodworking back as investments in tools in my shop. It has been all hard work, but you’re welcome to make a comment about how fortunate I am to have a shop full of woodworking tools that magically have appeared overnight. But just know that I take care of a dayjob, work in the workshop in the evenings and edit videos for RUclips many nights.

I'm not affililated with any of the toolbrands I'm using in this video. Nobody paid me so say anything. However, I do like to support other creators, and often buy their merch.
I do owe thanks to a lot of creators, I will try my best to feature you somehow in future videos. The way I like to feature other creators is by making some sort of cameo that's relevant for the video I'm making, so I'm sorry if you send me your sticker hoping to get a shout-out. It could be a while before the right opportunity shows up for me.
Thank you all creators and people watching and commenting on my videos. I read all comments and will answer all. I learn a lot from the comments and will do my best to mention who gave me the good advice in future videos. Thank you.

If there's one thing I'm happy about in 2022, it's that I came across your channel. I am a beginner wood worker in my spare time, made a few things and sold them to locals, you're such an inspiration in what you do and your video quality is fantastic
That is awesome! In 2020 I was a total beginner and only made some stuff for my kids and wifey. RUclips and new maker-friends made me up the game a little. I can only encourage you to keep going and find some maker-friends...
Lol this video was made by a beginner woodworker. Throw some random chunks in a box and pour. Keep searching
@@mummsthaword1111 Hi Mike, I have never suggested other than I'm a beginner. Cheers mate

@@mummsthaword1111 who hurt you, Mike?
Nothing makes me happier than watching a Jesper Makes video. Obviously the woodworking is top notch, but its equally matched by an amazing sense of humor and truly impressive editing skills. Now all we need is some functioning SD cards so we dont miss out on any awesome footage!
Couldn't agree more! Just replaced them all!
Hello Jesper,
I don't have my language in the subtitle :-) I think you forgot :-)... You are using strong and thick trees. I'm still far from the epoxy business. And someday I may try. You did the epoxy job. The use of epoxy is also a special skill. The detail is very like. Saw Mark :-) .. And Mark loves pallets :-) I love the classic hobbyist's handy leveling technique. The round swallows in the corners were cool. Epoxy prices are very high in our country. With the facilities of the place, a wonderful dining table has emerged with a more affordable cost. Your client will love this table. All the best. Congratulations. Proud of your rise. Cheers Jesper
Hello Mehmet, and sorry for replying so late. This table caused a lot of problems, but it was a very fun build, and I had a lot of fun with Mark and other of my friends, so it's all worth it. And there is no other table like this anywhere...!! I see your channel is growing also, you do a very good job! Ups I will fix the subtitles!! Take care Mehmet, see you soon.
This is the best youtube channel i have ever found. I am so glad i stumbled on this gem of a woodworking channel. Both your humor and woodworking projects are right up my alley. Thank you Jesper.
Wow, thank you!
Lovely table. My husband and I enjoy your sense of humor. ❤
Jesper this is absolute FIRE! love the canadian pat and pallet punter cameos. good luck selling the table. it's a work of absolute beauty my friend!
Thanks so much Andrew. Talk soon!
So good! Loved the short story inbetween 😂
Thanks, I had a lot of fun with those...
Awesome vid. “If it looks straight, it is straight.” Words to live by.
Exactly 💯💯
Now i know the reason for you to come up with a new vid after a longer period. The table is really a beauty and i love the way you assemble the legs 🙂
I wish, you get it sold soon enough. Maybe take half the costs for the build before building such a project to not get dropped of ice cold like that again.
I already annoyed you via instagram but i just love the rustic workshop, your way of creating and the way of telling a little story in a vid and the hard work. Appreciation will follow mate ;-) Greetings from germany
Hi my friend, many many thanks for your comment and support. I love to communicate with you on all the platforms, and I think it's one of the great things with RUclips, all the advice I get and all the new people i get to meet. This is my very first super thanks, and i have now set it up so I'm getting an alert if it happens in the future! Sorry for the late reply. If you send me your coordinates via DM I'll send you a little gift! This video in particular was a little hard, because so much happpend, both in regards to the project and the customer, but also in my parents house, where I needed to go and stay with them, and I still do, so I'm way behind in the comments. Thanks again!
Your approach to making videos is stellar. I legitimately LOL’d at driving up to Portland.
Thanks 🙏
This is awesome! I need to get myself a Shaper Origin.
You should! And good thing you haven't got one just yet, as Gen 2 of it just released. Let me know how you're doing with it!
So grateful DainerMade sent me over to ya. Love the collaboration, beautiful execution without even a plan, and the editing is above top notch. Time to binge some more
Thank you so much!
It is always a good day when a jesper video is out !
Glad you think so!
Enjoyed the Cam mention that was funny
Hehe, thanks.
That hue of blue green is stunning and perfectly matched the area you’re from! My Dad prides himself on our ancestry and I can see him loving this
I love the music in the end
Thanks...
This is literally the first epoxy table I liked on RUclips Bravo Jesper!!!
wow really!! Thanks
What is that router magic you possess? That my amaze-balls!!!
No magic, just trial and error. Mostly error.
So good. Love the table and the comedy from down under 😀
Yeah 😂
Loved the music in this one though haha! Really like the cooperation with the other RUclipsrs, keep it going!
Thanks, that's the plan . 🙏

Great job! Beautiful table. I wish you luck in getting it sold quickly.

Viking Teir Awesomeness- Beautiful table, content is always fun and enjoyable with great music.

Get to the "chopper" no no "pallet wood!" Absolutely fantastic table Jasper. Hope you get it sold the shots at the sea show off what a great job you have done.
Thanks my friend. I'm really happy to hear from you mate. Cheers
That table is absolutely stunning!
Loved the video. Nice to see you have a sense of humor. The table looked fantastic. Thanks for sharing and good luck finding a buyer.
Awesome! Thank you!
Jesper has a new video out, so I'll take a peek and come back to it later. No can do! I do take a peek, pause the thing and go make myself a cup of coffee...it's like a good book, you can't stop reading!
Sorry the sale didn't go through. That epoxy is some expensive stuff! If I was loaded, I would buy it for sure!
I am sure someone in your neck of the woods will step up, after all you just need one buyer. See ya, Jesper!
Thank you so much Juliet. I hope you're doing fine? See ya soon!!

And the price keeps going Up & Up💰!
Energy prices do for sure..
Oh I hope someone has bought that table mate. 👍🏻.
I hope so too 😬😬🙈
This is crazy! I hope you got a deposit. Beautiful table.
Yeah, deposits are a must in this game, right? 😄 Ever tackled a table project that made you question your sanity?🛠☕
@@JesperMakes well I am kind of a beginner woodworker so I question my sanity every time I walk into the shop. 😂
@@coolabahwoodworking The old “what the hell am I doing” vibe. Yup. I know how you feel mate 👍

What a incredible table!!
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it. Take care. Cheers from Denmark.
I like the funny bits you work into your videos. Also like to see you make-do with the tools you have rather than a shop full of special tools that most of us don't have. I have learned a lot from your videos!! Keep them coming, Jesper!!
Thanks 👍 I'm getting more and more tools but I started with absolutely no tools so being creative has always been a must. Thanks!
@@JesperMakes You are welcome!!
Love your videos man! I think it's awesome the wood working community is so supportive. Keep shouting out channels
Thanks! Will do!
Lovely table. Even better production.
The fact that this “client” put 3 week pressure on you to finish this build and then said “my electric bill is too high” and absolutely ditched you is a criminal act. At least you got their $2,500 deposit, correct? Maybe when this sells, you’ll work out even better in the end.
The Creative Woodworking sarcasm was really good too, lol!
Hi Richard, thanks for your concern, it was a little more complicated IRL, but it will all work out for the better. Thanks
That is such a nice table jesper
Thanks, I'm very glad to hear that...
This is another great build Jesper, gutted that your client bailed out after the build was done.
Perhaps next time you will secure a hefty deposit on your next commission build project
They say that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay..... but bespoke always attracts a premium price.
Thanks Craig, good points!
As an import Dane... Yes I think it is worth it.... Dude, never change.. The content is TOP NOTCH and the product is just absolutely immaculate.

Thanks, so glad to have you in Denmark.!!

Absolute talent and skill mad respect to you. Today I chopped up so kindle ready for the winter in the uk and made a whole basket full. Keep up the great content ❤

Looks great Jesper! Great tip on the epoxy mixing too. Had me laugh out loud at the creative woodworking part.
I'm glad you got a good laugh mate. People often say the most funny video is the "I sold a rotten log for 3500 on Etsy"...
So gooood you, the guests, the work !

*You're one of the best storytelling makers on youtube Jesper, and you keep getting better and better at it! Well done!* Also, I'd like to say something nice about Mark's acting... _I'd like to_ .....I just can't think of what... 😆😆
Thanks Mario, that means a great deal coming from you, thanks very much. And Mark is brilliant IMHO, I just tried to do something for Mark's video, talking to camera is not easy... And in still laughing over your micro-wa-weee 😂😂😂

Don't worry I will 👌 thanks Rob
Turned out great! Glad to see a video and I’m sure this will sell quickly.
Thanks a bunch!
It looks amazing! I'm not a fan of "cookies" but with the light coming through the epoxy and that cross shape it's really dope! The legs are a really cool idea! I'm also impressed it still looks modern despite the use of cookie slices. Btw this is why I'd never do "idk make what you want with some X motives" kinda stuff, I hear "viking" and my brain goes straight to some rustic live edge/"poorly" chisel finished slab (you know, like textured kinda thing) with gnarled branches people throw in the fireplace as legs. And old norse insults carved in with a knife Haghia Sophia style lol
I have to admit I wasn't a fan of cookies either, but I have started to like end grain, and then cookies just crept in.. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated!
Absolute beauty Jesper 👍. Dainer doesn't seem to be happy about the lack of pallets, haha 😆
So true! I have started a new pallet project to avoid any trouble 😂
Love your work. Keep it up!
Thanks, will do!

Glad to hear it!
Awesome work. and I loved the video style as well!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved it, only found you today via your Australia buddy went to Etsy but it’s sold 🎉
Awesome! Thank you!
Top stuff mate... and look at that, the resin held first time! You are learning well. You certainly have a keen eye for framing a shot and a great talent for telling a tale. Enjoy those nice tools, you have earned them.... though I hope the epoxy was sponsored on this one ;) If you had put hairpin legs on this I would have ensured the Roman interpretation of my gestures was implemented :P Now go make Dainer happy and bust up some pallets :D
James! Thank you mate, I really crossed my fixit fingers that you wouldn't be too unhappy with the way I misused your generosity. Nope, not yet sponsored by any epoxy brand .. winkwink ... haipin legs wasen't really on the table at any point, but they made a good contrast to the monsters I eventually produced! Now onto the pallet stuff!
love the look of the table. i love to have it. what a statement piece it sell soon.
Think so, yes
Absolutely awesome job buddy. One of a kind and just incredible keep it up 👍
Thanks, will do!
Great video, champ :D Hope you get the table sold. And though I personally don't mind you doing other project than pallets, I have to say I do enjoy the pallet creations the most.
