I love both the Crown Vic and the Tahoe but it looks so much easier for the Vic to go through the corners but the way the suspension is set up on the PPV Tahoe is really impressive, it is a heavy SUV but it handles its mass really well!
I have a ex state police Tahoe they perform real good to me. I had Crown Vic's for a very long time so I decided to buy a Tahoe and I loved it. My Tahoe still has the push bumper and the spot light on it.

Dual Sport Numbskullz no way lol tahoes are slow overweight piles of junk. Ours doesn't go, doesn't stop, it's way too top heavy and it's weak. It's on it's 2nd motor & 3rd tranny. They cannot out perform a crown vic
Most of the parts from the PPV Tahoe will bolt on to the civilian variant of the Tahoe. You can get the same handling and even better if you wanted to as far as engine there’s not really any difference it does have a more balanced driveshaft for high speeds and the trans shift points are a little better than the civilian truck.
If you ask me this might have proved that the Tahoe versus the Crown Vic the Crown Vic actually took the corners a lot better without the stability control as you heard the officer state that it can get in your way
I’m just wondering what the clinking noises are whenever the police cruiser hits the bumps. Every police video from dash cams I ever watched from inside the cruiser, the vehicles always had clinking noises, it can’t be because the vehicle has been used for so long and is doing it from wear and tear since my city has new ones and they do the same thing everything is clinking inside. Wondering if the new ones off the shelf with zero miles have the same issue. Hope someone knows
Good buy man. I just drove from Miami Florida back to sc with my new 2013 Tahoe ppv K-9 unit! I freaking love this thing. Sold my 2006 mustang gt to buy it and I regret nothing.
I don't get why Chevy doesn't make the Tahoe PPVs standard with the 6.2L... I think it'd be better for going after speeders and (maybe it's just me) I feel like it gets better MPG then the 5.3L but that's just me
@@2KCamaroZ28SS indeed, i just say that the 6.2 uses less fuel becuase my family has a 5.3 Silverado crew cab and another family has a 6.2 and and the 6.2 uses less fuel. Were thinking it's due to the 6.2 struggling less with heavy weight compared to the 5.3 but thats just our guess and another one is that the 5.3 has high mileage 😛
Just the opposite. You can see the tahoe in front oversteering in the tight stuff and that body roll is nothing compared to what the civilian model would look like
hey quick question. I have my eyes on a 2009 PPV tahoe but a lot of people say that these trucks are abused and they burn a lot of oil among other problems. can you share your ownership experience?
Since they didn't respond to you I figured I would haha. I have had 3 PPV Tahoes and they are all very reliable and I have only done standard maintenance on all three. I assume this is because the police have excellent maintenance on the cars even though they sometimes beat them up as shown in this video. My only complaint is that the ride on these PPV Tahoes is reallyyy bumpy/rough compared to the SSV Tahoes. Other than that these are great and really reliable.
The police package takes away the abitity to disable stability and with good reason. Those trucks are downright dangerous without the stability and super hard to control a slide in one.
Because they cheap and they well maintain other than civilian cars nobody doesn't do they regular maintenance like the police department does. Something breaks they will fix it with no hesitation
Depends on where you get the car from. My crown vic is ex texas dps. Very strict maintenance department and these cars were very well taken care of. The only issues I had with my car were from the previous owner who bought it from the state. Runs and drives like a dream and I couldn't be happier for 600 bucks
years ago gm had a denali that had four wheel steering on the trucks but for some reason it really never took off maintaining them was a pain... in the old days it was easier to power slide vehicles through the corners but the vehicles today have too much granny crap and when you want to punch to get out of something the computer will shut you down making the situation way worse or deadly we learned how to do controlled skids bootleggers etc now cannot do that
I’ve had the pleasure of driving both. No way could a Vic whoop, beat, overtake, out maneuver, or in any way come close to beating a PPV Tahoe. Doesn’t matter who’s driving either one, there’s no comparison.
Scott Stone The rear end is pretty easy to get loose in the Interceptors, theyre slow as shit though. So besides corners Id imagine a tahoe could keep up
Bailey O. actually my PPVTahoe can take corners better than an Impala, VIC, Explorer, and Caprice. No joke.!! I have been in front of or behind all 4 listed vehicles. If I am lead, they cannot stay with me. If I am behind one, I could push them off the road (if I wanted to). I have never driven a cop car that comes close to that Tahoe. I don’t have a dog in the Chevy Vs Ford fight, I am a Toyota fan personally. 82% American Made parts and put together in Kentucky. Had a Chevrolet once with an Isuzu motor and was put together in Mexico. 😡 then they took a tax payer bail out.
Scott Stone funny enough I prefer Toyota too. I Bought a Tacoma because I wanted a mid size truck with a manual trans, v6, decent mpg and a locking rear diff. There isnt a single domestic truck that fit those requirements besides the Taco
Actually the crown vic is extremely fast. I own decommissioned police cars and it's the fastest cop car I've seen. It doesn't accelerate fast but once it gets up to speed it moves fast
Crown vic does 0-60 in 8.7 seconds and does 130mph. They're governed to 130mph. That's necessarily fast. The Tahoe does 135mph+top speed has a similar 0-60 but it's way heavier and it's a SUV.
I love both the Crown Vic and the Tahoe but it looks so much easier for the Vic to go through the corners but the way the suspension is set up on the PPV Tahoe is really impressive, it is a heavy SUV but it handles its mass really well!
That Crown Vic was scootin'
It was showing the younger cruisers how to drive in pursuits
yes she was

Imagine if Ford kept making the Crown Vic, but threw a coyote and a 10 speed in it.
Scary seeing a Tahoe handle that well lol
He’s going 35-40mph tops. I’d be long gone.🤣

@Sergey322, fair use law would state you can.
Sergeyyyyyy
Well of course the Crown Vic did a good job of outperforming the Tahoes, it ain't always easy chasing a 4,100 pound car with a 5,300 pound tank
He didn't leave that Chevy that easy. The chevy tahoe was almost munching on the crown vics @SS!
The Tahoe was letting off the gas considerably. Anytime it wants, it can run right through the Vic

Hp tuners totally, disable torque management play with shift points a little bit and make it hold gears Until a specific rpm with tow haul button on
And fuck afm delete that garbage also, or At least disable it
