Yes, column shifters are nice because I often drive with the left and also have shifted with that hand. This would prevent me from doing that, however I think with all these nice features, I could deal with that. I just got a 21 explorer and I really like it.
I don’t know about where you live, but here in AZ, the cops had Tahoe since early 2000. Some even have decals the same color as the truck (some are black and some are white), so technically it is a marked truck, but only visible from up close. By the time you see the decals, they probably already have their red and blues on.

OPP and the guys sitting on Parliament Hill are all chilling in Tahoe's, I do see the occasional OPP charger chilling on the highway though. Seems like it just depends where ya live.
I really appreciate y’all keeping the V8 and not putting in those crappy V6s that actually get worse MPGs because of all the weight it’s pulling and falls apart because it can’t handle moving all that weight so quickly but I can’t stand the “active fuel management”/ cylinder deactivation all you companies do. The old 5.3s without them were such good engines, but y’all destroyed them with that BS to squeeze out 0.8 MPG more. Everyone I know got that crap deactivated the second they got it. Aside from that and those 10R80s with their awful software problems, I’d die to have one.
That's why I got rid of my 5.3 silverado and just got the new 3.0 diesel silverado. A few things started going bad due to the cylinder deactivation and it had to go. I miss the old gm engines without all this new "efficiency" crap they pack them with.
Ummm yeah that fuel savings adds up. The police departments need to save as much money as possible. These engines are super advanced. Idk why you couch engineers need to shit on the best and the brightest at GM. I guarantee they know a hell of a lot more than you do couch potato
Some great features on these: the quick exit, safe idle mode, serious brakes, these should be the standard for all PPV vehicles now. And they look very cool in triple black. When they start hitting the auctions as retired from the LEO fleets I'll be keeping my eyes out on one. Maybe to find one not too roached out from service duty.

Nice ride. I had a 9C1, mid 80's Caprice that I won 73 features with on the dirt tracks. A few suspension adjustments and a roll cage and it kicked butt in the pure stock class. Two nights a week for eight years before I retired it. It was a legend around these parts. Driver's are like, oh no, here comes the 36 car!

Due to the fact that they were bailed out by the government, they where forced to put new emissions and safety measures on there vehicles that made them super unreliable. They also started putting 10 speed transmissions which were super unreliable compared to the 6 speed ones

I buy and sell these trucks and they’re great until about 300k miles, everything is wore out at that point. Their poor people cars like the Malibu, impala, equinox etc those are trash cans. I’ve had 300+ vehicles, they’re pretty solid. Honestly my worst luck has been with Honda.

If it is, that would be a waste of money by the department. The emissions system will be trashed from all the idle time making them very unreliable. The diesel is also not very quick. Diesels are not built like they used to be since they have to meet EPA regulations.

Montgomery, AL PD, Pike County AL Sheriffs use them almost exclusively, seen a good amount of the troopers in AL using them, John's Creek GA PD, Dekalb County Police uses them, Troy, AL has a good amount of them. Many more departments using the new PPVs... not sure on reliability but definitely seeing a good amount of them.

I'm curious about this "log" you are talking about. Tell us how you are going to find a car based only on the make, model, etc.? Better yet, tell us step by step, in detail, how your would later find this car. Then, if you find the car, how are your going to prove beyond a reasonable doubt, who was driving the car the day of the incident? With all your experience, I'm sure you know that most pursuits occur at night with limited visibility. Lastly, what is the statute of limitations on a Misdemeanor fail to yield charge?
Wish our New Zealand police had those. Would make idiots think twice about running from them. I am surprised that the American police don't have the larger v8 engine in those. Still, should help their police a lot more with the extra features.
Good thing those key fobs never fail. And rear cameras are so easy and cheap to repair in-house. Plus auto-driver-assist-park-reverse-lane-warning-pedestrian-stop-let-it-drive-itself doesn't sound like a very good idea to me, at all.

They need to make these standard with the 6.2
I think those will get worse gas mileage and probably are not as reliable as the 5.3 even tho it's still a really good motor.

Look in the right place at the right time and you'll find a good one. I found one that was the Chief's with 28k miles on it. 2021 PPV 4WD.
