Have you done anything to the transmission? It looks its shifting pretty quickly and I noticed that it only downshifts when the downwards arrow appears next to the Gear number. It seems like it's same in the new GR86 and I would love to get the newer car in Automatic if it can shift this fast from the factory!! Let me know if you did any mods to make it that quick or GT86 shifts that quickly from the factory!
    Great video as always!

Thanks man 😊 The transmission is completely stock, the car was standard when I bought it so I’m certain the gearbox hasn’t been modified… I guess they just come this way from the factory. Not sure if this helps, but I find that wide-open throttle gives quicker shifts than (say) cruising low rpms under partial throttle load, when shifts can be a bit sluggish.

I’m actually using the paddles here, I only ever use auto mode for normal driving and never on track 👍🏼 I just happen to have the sport mode engaged, which is why you can see the “sport” light on the dash, you can see that I’m not in auto mode as the readout shows the actual gear and not “D” 😊

@@3782MC does sport mode make the paddle shifters more responsive?

any particular reason you drive in auto sport mode and not with the paddles? also what shift knob is that? it looks sick

It’s a Raceseng shift knob extender (150mm I think) paired with a generic round Momo knob, I’m actually using the paddles here and not auto mode (the dash readout would show “D” in auto mode rather than the actual gear as per my video).
