Very impressive. I think now would be a good time to put out a comprehensive car washing video. I have used rain x on my Windows before but I have no idea what you used on yours. And I have tried treating my plastics and side molding with armorall.
hello great video.. i have few quest..why clean wheels before body...and when you apply product on car and then you washe it wouldnt that like cancel it if you know what i mean,i dont know nothing about this so..peace..
awesome video out of interest when you jacked the car up did you put the chocks on the front of the tyres also how many jacks did you use to Jack the car up and what was used on top of the jack above the jack like a black square thing
Hi Chris, Thanks for the feedback 😎👍🔔 At AMDetails we have a slope outside. Sloping away from the unit. So we chock the wheels on the opposite side to prevent the car rolling down the hill when not on the jack, and the hand break is off. I do hope the description makes sense. Alan
Hello Charlie, Just one jack used. You can jack the heaviest end ( most cars the front but Porsche etc. its the rear) til the opposite end lifts "cocks its leg) if you wish to returning the wheel as a cleaning technique. If not then just jack enough so that both arches raise to give better access for arch cleaning. Alan
Hi, Grant. That's Gtechniq C4. Their long life Plastic Coating. You can grab some here - amzn.to/2j84gMj Great product. Just make sure you remove all residue. If using on really, textured plastics use a thick pile Microfibre cloth to help in removal. Alan 😎 👍🔔

AMDetails Hi Alan, in the description for this video you refer to the work being carried out as a 'Single Stage' Detail. Is this the same as, what some people call, a 'Correction' Detail?
+David Marshall potentialy David. It's all different depending on what the company calls "their service" Our single stage is a single pass with a abrasive compound to refine the finish of the car as much as possible with this one Individual pass. Our enhancement is a two stage service. Correction 3 passes plus. Possible vague but I hope it helps. Alan
Thanks for the quick reply Alan. I thought that's what it might be but thank you for the explanation of your process. Is it possible to go further than this if a customer asked you to?
I have the same car in the same colour. Had it a few months from new. Despite careful washing techniques I've noticed a few random fine scratches here and there. You think a once over with Scholl S30+ on an orange Scholl pad with a DAS 6 Pro would take care of it?
+Richard Hurr hi Richard. Weirdly I'm not actually that clued up on the Scholl range. Ford paint can be a funny one. Light hazing, wash marring and basic swirls are easy enough to remove with finishing to polishing stages. But the deeper stuff can be funny and that's when you need to get creative with what you have on the shelf. Such a rewarding colour though Sir so I'm sure you will have fun. Alan 😎👍🔔
AMDetails I ended up correcting it with Meguiars 205 on a finishing pad. Came out easily enough. This paint is rather easy to marr though, no matter how careful you are. Thinking of getting it ceramic coated, hence why I'm watching this again lol.
AMDetails thank you, also i saw a video where someone was visiting your site for detailing training, is this available to anyone? i am looking into starting i mobile valeting service with plans to add detailing services afterwards and the nearest i can find is coventry and since i live in scotland its a fair journey

So keep an eye out for it 😎👍 - Alan
+AMDetails nice I'll be sure to keep an eye out. I want my car detailed but I think the swirls may be too much 😩 got some nasty stone chips on the front end too. The spirit blue paint on these STs are super thin!
Hey- great video man. Love the attention. Can you tell me if you guys sell the brushes that were used on the wheel spokes and then around the gas cap area? Many thanks
Just use hogs hair brushes. Should be able to find some for much less than £25, which seems to be the going rate on most detailing supply sites. I've seen sets for £7-10.

Hello there. In this video im using a lot of adapted things to try to see why people do it. It was a period where I was investigating why people change machines and did it, in fact, make any improvement to the finish on the cars or was it just adjusting tools to suit the user's style. So i will explain what im using in this video. BUT it's not what i would advise haha. Rupes LHR12 with an LHR15 Cap for my left hand. A kamikaze backing plate version 1 i think where the velcro glue would always overheat and come off. AGAIN WOULD NOT ADVISE ANY OF THIS IT WAS A NIGHTMARE But the pad and polish combination used on this vehicle im 99% sure would have been menzerna 2500 - amzn.to/34EacFp and Rupes yellow foam pad - amzn.to/2XywYNr Hope this helps Alan
Hallo Alan ! Kan I apply a carnubawax on my car a day after Crystal serum black ! I just want to protected even more since I did not afford an EXO coating. If I do apply it a day after my self with a rupes and a soft foam pad ! Will it work greit ? Or I shouldn't do that ?

Why clean the wheels when you are going to be taking them off anyway? Why not just clean them off the car?
Hey Kagan,
Great questions. We like to clean up the arches and wheels as far as possible on the car first.
One it keeps inside the bay nice and clean. But also means when we are man handling the wheels we are not rubbing dirt into them with our hands etc potentially causing more damage than required ( Gloss Black Wheels).
I can see how people would think .."how un-efficient" But we allow for everything in our pricing so the extra step we can take for the customer the better.
Thanks for checking us out. Hope this helps.
Alan 😎👍🔔
Fair enough, it makes the job of cleaning them off the car less nasty if they aren't filthy. Each to their own of course, if I was doing a wheels off job, the most I'd do before they come off is maybe throw a little dragon's breath on to get the absolute worst off, pressure wash that off and do the main clean off the car.
Exactly Sir,
This is why when I teach people or give out our guides I mention this is the AMDetails Way. Take from it what you like and apply this to your wash technique.
For example. We would not use an Iron Fallout based chemical on a wheel without first using a normal wheel cleaner. So as to reduce the amount of reaction that happens. Firstly we would rinse with water to get the loose brake dust off. Use a wheel cleaner to remove brake dust. Then only use an iron fall out remover if....
*Carrying out protection, so we want to remove all contamination before applying protection.
*We find staining or signs of contamination then we would use the Fallout Remover to eliminate this.
This then helps to reduce the reaction, and it only happens where required instead of being used to clean general road film and brake dust. Depending on the chemical used, the reaction can be quite intense and to be used as a general cleaner could cause damage if repeatedly done over time.
I hope this helps Sir,
I look forward to creating the How to series and showing you all how we do things here + our tips and tricks.
