I want to say that it's the best car of all even the RS, I don't mean that the RS wasn't good but fiesta has also thinks that luxury cars has ( heated seats, clima etc). It's an all day car and a track car at the same time. No problems until now bought used 56000km. Now at 80000km
This is a great video, I'm thinking about making the switch from a 5.0 mustang to an ST. I had an st150 12 years ago and I loved it. These ones seem even better.
gotta say that the mountune mp215 kit with mountune exhaust gives even more smile on your face :D gapping a lot of cars on curvy roads and even on lights
Totally disagree with the comments about build quality. You must have had a shoddy one. I've had my 2014 ST-3 for 3 years and doesn't have any quality issues doesn't make the sounds in the cabin yours does. I've done 45000 miles in 3 years (on 75500 miles now) and is the best car I've driven. I'm 50yrs old and have driven alot of different cars since I got my licence at 17. Car will be 7 years old in June, had my 3rd MOT on this car since I've had it and it went straight through with just an advise on front nr side tyre at 3mm (went through previous MOTs similarly) I have never had anything go wrong, replaced all the brakes 2yrs ago due to wear and tear, that's been my biggest expense. I feel safe in all weather's in this car. Servicing is cheap I had a main dealer 6 year service done last year for £250. Anyone thinking about getting one don't just buy it you won't regret it. My MPG is 41. I do a mixture of 30-60mph roads daily and use super unleaded. That's excellent for this car. Mate has a 65 plate 1.4 Golf and his mpg is 41.1 he's not happy with his.. Cheers
I’ve had my mk7 for 5 years now. And it’s hard to know what to replace it with. Golf R? M140i? Cupra 300? Mk4 Focus ST? It is a lot of fun and with a stage 1 map feels just right. Maybe I will end up sticking with a Fiesta and moving to a mk8 🤔
MK8 won't be a bad choice! I've seen plenty of people move across to those cars and although faster, lack the fun feel of the Fiesta. Depends what you're wanting from a car really
Put an LSD in. Would love to know how it will be in ST. I have a stock ST and a GR at home. Both excellent hot hatches. I do feel the ST can do wt some extra mods.
Indeed, the plastics on the interior, particularly the dash is dreadful but that’s my only complaint. I’m at 111,000 miles now been, running Cobb 93 octane stage one since the 50k mile mark and it’s as good as the day I bought it. Just added the boosted designs dead pedal (HIGHLY recommend) and a real leather shift boot with red stitching. Just little things but it is the little things that make life more interesting sometimes and I love this car more and more every time I get in it. Thought about going stage two but with this many miles I just can’t justify the $1500.
Doesn't the ST overboost to around 200bhp in short bursts or am I mistaken? I currently own an Ecoboost 1.0 Zetec S 140 and am considering stepping up to an ST. I love the character of the 1.0 and the fact it gives everything as an engine (very torguey for its size) but more than that I love the chassis. Front end grip is brilliant and it's the only FWD car that I've had that seems to almost oversteer into a corner. Feels quite analogue through the steering and seat for a modern car and has a really good gearbox which makes changes precise, short and fun. The pedals are really well spaced for a small car too which means you can play around trying to learn heel and toe down changes etc. It's also been very reliable and cheap to run (economy is more than it should be). Does the ST maintain this ethos? Does it drive like the Pug 205 for the modern age or should I stick with what I've got?
If you haven’t already, do it. The 1.0 140 are great little cars and the ST is another level up. And yes, they overboost to about 200 for a few seconds but then drops to the 180ish, however all you have to do is lift off and put your foot back down and it resets and overboosts again immediately. They also tune very well.
Thanks for your video!! I have driven my Fiesta ST daily for close to 7 years now and all you wanna do when you hop in the driver's seat, is just fkn drive all day long.. preferably on some tight twisty tarmac... The speeds I have taken corners in that car is insane! Couple of close shaves too and gotta look out for those mid corner bumps... The handling is so good it's like it has claws holding it to the road..
I agree mate they’re so much fun!! Nothing beats the handling on these I find myself accelerating into corners rather than slowing down coz you just know it’s capable. Ace fun!!
Bought my st200 new in 2017 and have honestly loved every moment of owning it and I'm now at a point where I'm considering a move to possibly an m140i however ,like you say in the video the overall fun factor (price, cost of running , reliability ect ect)is something to be missed if I do move, my problem is I hope to buy a home soon and fear something more practical ie 5doors may be of use in future, and yes an m140i is 5door however running cost may be too much 😁 first world problems, but anyway great video and look forward to see what you do with it 👍👍
I am saving up for a new car, it's either fiesta st or Peugeot 208gti. I hear some of the Peugeots are very unreliable and expensive to fix, but the reliable ones are brilliant and quick, I love the interior aswell. Only bad thing I hear about the fiesta is rev hang between changing gear, our transit connect at work does this really bad I hate it I can't live with a car that does that, does anyone know if you can completely get rid of rev hang, it's the only thing putting me off the fiesta,
Of course not everything is quality on the fiesta. But it is not in that price range either. For me the reason i bought one is because if you value driving over luxury , and if you want an agile manouvrable car . And if you had to choose with a limited budget of course. Then it is a good car. It drives very good, the car is well balanced. And the car steers ,and reacts very good for a car in that pricerange.
Golf R, M140i, ST3...nice collection. Watch with interest as you know and share your stuff. Excellent vids, very watchable. Keep going mate. Leon Cupra would fit too - like a Big ST3😂
I'm 51 years old, just about to take my driving test, and as soon as I have passed, I'm buying a Fiesta ST 😁 I only have £7000 to spend though, and with sooo many choices on the market, I'm just not sure what to get? I'm thinking I should buy from a reputable dealer, with warranty, and lowish mileage. I even looked at Cat N. The choice is endless.
Trouble is with the likes of the M140 and golf R is that they are so refined that they suffocate the performance experience and feel. And they are so expensive to matain compared to the fez and run day to day. Granted the quality isn't the same as the two cars but the fez costs a lot less to buy and run over a year when used daily.
I've owned this car brand new since 2016 now its just cumbersome to drive i.e. if u feel lazy or tired the upshifts or downshifts are just annoying ride quality crap too and you get a nice amount of torque but dies of very quickly, like a diesel. Only way to get me out a 140i is if I couldn't afford it.
I have a 2016 fiesta ST then I bought in 2016 zero problems and it's my daily. I have a 91 Civic SI with a turbo fully built engine so the fiesta I drive everywhere. I think I've had two flat tires in the whole time. And BMW is oh yeah they're premium find used for dirt cheap you better have a deep pocket to fix all the issues with them. I live in Bismarck North Dakota USA and my fiesta gets driven in snow storms and everywhere so. Crap makes me laugh
I've got a bmw 1series F20 in Valencia orange matalic 64 But I've always had a soft spot for the fiesta st and I'm 40 years young lol And so has my wife , she loves them as well So I think in the months ahead I'll be changing over just like you mate ! Not that anyone is ever really bothered about what cars anyone has owned prior and without wanting to reiterate the point already made but… just to jump on the band wagon here. I’ve had 2 Fiesta ST’s, I then went to an M140i which was a great car and silly quick, but ultimately flawed as the chassis and the engine imo didn’t match too well on a hard drive, I then went to a 2 car set up with a 320d estate daily and an E92 M3 manual. I must say not many things can match the joy that a V8 revving to 8,300rpm gives however, now that’s out of my system, I decided to go back to the fez bomb and bought a fiesta st 200. It’s running revo stage 2 with a full miltek system and on H&R springs. It is ultimately slower down a motorway than the M3 and probably on a decent sized track, however I struggle to comprehend how nippy this ST is on a b road and between the lights, yes it’s not stupid, but the sheer joy it delivers is on par with any car i’ve driven or owned. Great review and totally agree with 90% of what you’ve said!

With the correct security no, many people go into ownership aware of the risks but take no action. That’s when thefts happen, take the proper steps to secure it and you’ll be fine. Disklok for visual, ignition kill switch, OBD relocation.
The standard engine is capable of a maximum of 370bhp so no one is running 400+. They are awesome cars and on a back road there isn't much that could match it.

@@JXLPerformance MK8 is feels like it has more torque, 290nm standard, 340-360nm with a map. I’m going from 2021 330e to one of the last 2017 ST-3 mountune. I’m going to miss the BMW like mad although I’ve given the ST a drive and it’s something to look forward to and the Michelin pilots cost a fraction of the ones on the 330e
You’ll miss the BMW but the Fiesta will make up for it in other ways 👍🏼
I had only fords until today first a focus 1.4 year 1999 then a focus 1.6 year 2006, after that a focus RS mk1, and now a fiesta st mk7.5 upgraded to 220hp.
Did you buy The ST ..? If so how's it been.....
The Mustang is lump hammer, the Fiesta is a chisel in comparison!
gotta say that the mountune mp215 kit with mountune exhaust gives even more smile on your face :D gapping a lot of cars on curvy roads and even on lights
Yes it’s a great kit.
I can’t understand why people hate on fiestas! cheap, good value for money, they look good and they have tons of modding options!
Exactly. Perfect for modifying;
this mans face between 6:30 and 6:45 is all you need to know. Man's having the time of his life.
The most fun true rally experience if you can keep up. A true drivers car! Stick to Potenza rubber though!
Great video mate 👍
Thank you sir
They are like comparing apples to oranges, very different cars but both great;
I have one, it's absolutely brilliant for the price point.
Indeed they are!
I've got a bmw 1series F20 in Valencia orange matalic 64
But I've always had a soft spot for the fiesta st and I'm 40 years young lol
And so has my wife , she loves them as well
So I think in the months ahead I'll be changing over just like you mate !
Thanks for the video great advice very much appreciated ! Looking forward to getting some ldeas for me to do when I hopefully get one soon !
So Looking forward to the next video as im now subscribed 💯%👌👍💪
Just twigged on you were up near ikea in bately😂
That’s the one!
Good video. I just wrote off my astra 1.6 GTC and pondering on buying the same one again. Before the ST becomes a viable option, does it have Bluetooth? Does it have parking sensors?
Mine has Bluetooth but no parking sensors, there are a lot of ST3s out there with parking sensors though!
i don't think i could have chosen a better car for my first car
Loved my St 3 wish I never sold it
Looking at buying one right now and they're 13/14 grand for one now (st3) 😅 mad 10 month's later.
Exactly! You'll have an idea!
You mentioned that the insurance company details would be down below... I cannot find them anywhere? Do you have them please mate? Also how old are you for the insurance to be that cheap? Cheers!
Hey mate, apologies for the delay. Their details are here: www.brentacre.co.uk/
I'm 26 👍🏼
Dude I’m trying to get the black clips out you literally have to pull them straight out?
Which clips?
@@JXLPerformance dude I was honestly commenting on another video about changing turn signals on the FiST and it must have gone to next video and put it on here my bad thanks for speedy reply though getting a 👍
Thank you sir 🤣👍🏼
really want one but the fact they get stolen so much is really putting me off...should i really be worrying about this?
With the correct security no, many people go into ownership aware of the risks but take no action. That’s when thefts happen, take the proper steps to secure it and you’ll be fine.
Disklok for visual, ignition kill switch, OBD relocation.
The standard engine is capable of a maximum of 370bhp so no one is running 400+. They are awesome cars and on a back road there isn't much that could match it.
I’ve come from the Mark 6ST to Mark 7ST(montune 215) to Mark 8ST (revo stage 1) all Amazing cars. Perfect all rounders, great economy and serious fun when you want to give them a blast especially with the LSD in the mk8. Great choice bud, sensible priced car you can have fun in while saving money for other priories.
Thank you sir! How does the MK8 compare to the MK7? I haven't yet driven one but heard very good things with the LSD.
@@JXLPerformance MK8 is feels like it has more torque, 290nm standard, 340-360nm with a map. Fords little 3 pot dragon engine is a blast load of low down grunt and makes a great noise, with a stage one map alone your looking at stage 2 figures for MK7 however, the Mark 7 did feel stronger top end. I think at the moment value for money lie with the mk7. I went for the MK8 for the interior. It’s definitely an upgrade but not light and day.
Simply want one
anyone manage to get one of these at 18, if so whats your insurance like?
I'm 19 and I'm paying about 160 for full coverage
@@nickscott5790 A day?... or month? 😀
I've just gone from a focus active x and the st3 is £25 a year cheaper
Bells drive Beamers.
owned a Subaru now i got a fiesta... someone please buy the fiesta so i can buy another Subaru lol .
Its a car not a stress ball !🤦♂️
A stress ball? 🤣
@@JXLPerformance stop touching the plastics !! 🥸
I know I know 😁 just to clarify a point that's all
