70% on street and Hwy 30% bad weather (winter snow and rain) and off road So stylish and comfort interior wise is what i would be looking for. Good off roading but mostly hwy and city streets Ram Rebel
Let’s be honest, who’s gonna actually rock climb like that with an expensive truck? Props to those who actually use there trucks to what they were made for 👆🏻
@@WillieFlo I just took my FX4 out there. We stuck to easier stuff but we still got it pretty dirty. It was 4 months old and only had 5K on it when we got there.
Ford just did a great job engineering and tuning the raptor. Even though is was built more for high speed desert runs it seems to do very well is all types of terrain. Not a truck guy but I do enjoy vehicles that are very capable from the showroom floor. Weather that's track racing or off roading.
Yep, 43 mins I'll never get back. Especially since I bought a '17 rebel used and I've never hut the pipe on anything, or plowed and I live up in snowy Wisconsin. Oh and I spent more than half the cost of new.

The Raptor is hands down the best offroad vehicle you can get straight from the factory. From the 4 wheel drive system to all the technology in it, it's just the best. I wish so bad I could afford one. Lol. Definitely my all time dream truck. As for the other two, the Silverado may have faired better in the obstacles but I live in Louisiana and we dont have rocks to crawl over so I'd pick the Rebel all day long if it was between the Silverado and Rebel. Plus the Rebel looks so much better both inside and out IMO. Cool vid but I wish they do an all mud riding video with all the same tricks but also with a regular F-150 to see the difference between the Raptor and regular F-150.
I when with the Rebel. Mine has the air-suspension which raised to the hights position has no trouble going over anything on the trail with out touching. I will post the video later.
As close as it was between the Rebel and Trail Boss, the rear diff lock on the Rebel was the tie breaker for me. The G80 simply doesn't work like the others in my opinion. Also I liked the Rebel interior much more.
Personally I would pay more for the Raptor. It’s 450HP/510 lb-ft, Adaptive off-road suspension and 5-star crash rating and much more technology makes it worth it to me. Btw- waiting on the drag race to know for sure...lol
Excellent video guys! At 9:30 Roman didn't get enough RPM difference between the wheels on the rear axle for the G80 to kick in and lock up. The pinion control or brake lock differential is what got him through. I just did an explainer with some practical situations of how all this works on my channel.
Good video I would just take the rebel it may bottom out some but the overall package is nice and I’m really upset with GM right now about the closing down of the plants in Ohio.
You would have thought Ford borrowed millions of USA citizens tax dollars to revamp their line and have a truck that puts out 100hp more ,117 ft lbs more torque and gets 1 mpg less even tho its wider, heavier, and sits higher in the wind, with larger heavier tires. Nope it was GM and they still have the old pushrod 355hp, anemic by comparison engine and crappy interior and seats. God forbid if Ford wasn't here I would buy the Fiat myself it looks way more offroad and has better seats and interior than the mundane Chevy imho. Just need to do some major engine tuning and intake/exhaust package to try to help the milage.
Speaking from a family setting I’d have to go with the Silverado. It’s more budget friendly, it preforms very well, and I feel like you just get a lot for you’re money. There’s always the custom trim that’s a little less money as well.
The best truck channel all 3 trucks are bad ass but the Raptor is still the king coming from a Ram guy .. till Ram makes a TRX but they are like 10 years late
If you put the $15,000 extra that the raptor costs towards parts for the chevy or the ram they could be better off road than a stock raptor easily. Which is the same reason they don't compare the chevy or the ram to the ford at the end.
I’m picking up my trail boss in two days and no I wouldn’t pay 15k extra because I don’t have 15k extra to pay. I’m getting a trail boss for 40k and do the jump from 40k to 70k for a raptor is huge!!! Plus if all the trucks I think the trail boss looks the best!
Waaaaaaaay overpriced. Traded mine in, liked it, always thought it was kinda ugly though. Got the trail boss and with the extra money, put King shocks/stouter suspension and it COMPLETELY blows the raptor away, not even funny. To each their own though.
@@erod6468 ikr I mean including my financial situation, I have to wait 7 years to buy the first gen Raptor to be affordable but maybe one day I will buy the Raptor
They don't make a v8 version anymore and what do you mean they don't hold up in value with the 3.5L? The reintroduction of the raptor in 2017, comes only with a 3.5L and they haven't gone down in value at all.
@@RhinoXpress you're on crack. My buddy bought a 3.5 boosted one brand new. Went to trade it in for a v8 version that was 2 years older with 4k miles. Had to pay 15k just to trade it for the 6.2 raptor
How am i on crack? go look at used 2017 models and tell me how much they lost their resale value. so in other words i'm guessing he traded his truck into one of those typical big car dealership and they low balled him on his trade in because they knew how much he wanted an older raptor with a v8? lol well gee there's his problem. Everyone with common knowledge knows that you get low balled with trades in from big car dealerships. He obv didn't do much looking around before trading it in, to get suckered into to paying 15k ontop of his trade in for a raptor that was 2 years older. So unless he had a decent amount of miles on his truck already and the raptor that was 2 years older had hardly any miles on it, then there should've been no reason why he had to pay that much for it ontop of his trade in. You're friend got played. I used to work for a big car dealership and i've seen all the tricks car salesmen use to do to sucker people into paying more for a car than it's actually worth on new and used cars.
I can tell you after a 1000 mile road trip in a 2020 Rebel, it was very comfortable and a great experience and feeling in that cabin. If you want an off-road truck to do what they did in this video, go with the Raptor or even the new RAM TRX. But if you want a nice looking truck to use as an excellent daily driver with good off-road capabilities IF you do off-roading, the Rebel is the way to go due to the price difference between the Rebel and the Raptor; plus, the interior of the Rebel is a great place to be on long trips. Chevy...I just can’t get with their design, don’t like it.
That RAM just looks so good inside and out...I'm like Roman...I'm riding on the inside and that's where I need to have a good experience personally...the outside kicks ass too...this is coming from a Chevy guy...my next truck will be a RAM rebel
Alpha Bear I’m a long time Ram guy that finally had enough. Last two trucks were Rams. Combined I had a successful Law suit for a lemon, 16 recalls, near constant check engine lights, an engine replaced at 93k and a variety of headache problems. My mechanic finally told me...”you need to quit buying those Rams.”
#1 Raptor, #2.5 Rebel, #2.5 Trail Boss. Raptor for obvious reasons Rebel locking diff and nicer interior. Trail Boss approach/departure angle and looks nicer (outside) then the Rebel. Trail Boss should have come with an electronic locking diff.
The power wagon is a big heavy clunky commercial truck that’s not very good fooling around like the raptor is, the power wagon is literally just a 2500 with a junky Hemi and a winch and some corny decals, the raptor is literally a competition trophy truck that can hit jumps lmao
Looked at all 3 of these trucks and it came down to price. You can get a lot more options going with a used rebel for a lot cheaper. Ended up getting a 2019 Rebel and couldn’t be happier.
William Stewart I just ripped my raptor through a crazy mud pit the other day and buried it after work, it’s much more than a dune machine, it can handle all types of terrain with ease, a lot of people use their raptor for its purpose, look on Instagram, don’t just assume things and be salty
Carol Tyler I was thinking the same thing. With that money you could take even the trail boss and make it comparable to the Raptor and still be able to have fun. The Raptor is so damn easy to drive a kid could do it. It does every little thing for you.
I choose the Silverado because I have one it’s a freight truck I like seeing it off road since I’ve only purchased mine three days ago I really haven’t taken it off road watching you guys take it off road made me realize that’s a Silverado is a better choice I agree with you I think interior in the Dodge look better but I still choose to Silverado over the other two thanks guys keep up the good work

Trail Boss is under developed, Rebel is pretty cool minus the grill, but the Raptor is just plain SICK. Yea it has the biggest price tag, but it is head and shoulders above the competition here.

My god, I have been reading comments for I don't know how long looking for someone else to mention the FX4 package.
@Jason Creech Even though I own a '14 Ram 1500, I'm a fan of the Tundra as well. From some of the reviews that I've seen, it does pretty good without the locker. But if you say that a locker is required for that kind of stuff, then I believe you.
@Jason Creech That you are correct sir.
@Lucas Davenport You honestly think so? The Tundra does have the rep of being the most reliable truck in the US right now.. You do know that right?
Just drooling over the Raptor. I take delivery of my 2019 Raptor this week and every TFL Truck video I watch gets me more excited!
70% on street and Hwy
30% bad weather (winter snow and rain) and off road
So stylish and comfort interior wise is what i would be looking for.
Good off roading but mostly hwy and city streets
Ram Rebel
Let’s be honest, who’s gonna actually rock climb like that with an expensive truck?
Props to those who actually use there trucks to what they were made for 👆🏻
Where trucks???
I’m taking my 6 month old Raptor to Moab in July and leaving my RZR XP at home in TX.....
@@WillieFlo I just took my FX4 out there. We stuck to easier stuff but we still got it pretty dirty. It was 4 months old and only had 5K on it when we got there.
Dude, the first 2 weeks I had my Tacoma TRD Off-Road I took it to Wind Rock off road park here in TN and put it through the wringer.
Most folks want abuse these trucks but it's there if you need to abuse them
I would love to have ANY one of them.
Ford just did a great job engineering and tuning the raptor. Even though is was built more for high speed desert runs it seems to do very well is all types of terrain. Not a truck guy but I do enjoy vehicles that are very capable from the showroom floor. Weather that's track racing or off roading.
Even though this video was uploaded like 3 years ago. When I saw this on my recommended list. I got excited.
I really love this channel and I'm really loving trucks thanks to you guys.
"You're gonna hit your Johnson" is the most underrated comment in this video haha
This video was SUPER well done, I love content like this even though I have little interest in trucks haha. Great job guys, glad I found your channel.
Thanks guys I wasn’t too sure about my 2019 trail boos LT. now I know I can take it anywhere 🦾💪
I just spent 43:36 of my life hearing a dude talking about his exhaust pipe
and plowing everything
Yep, 43 mins I'll never get back. Especially since I bought a '17 rebel used and I've never hut the pipe on anything, or plowed and I live up in snowy Wisconsin. Oh and I spent more than half the cost of new.
I am a Chevy fan but I know we’re your coming from
I get tired of seeing all of theses off road tests ( not just TFL) being done in rocks and sand in the desert. Much of the country does their off roading on logging roads through forests. We encounter mud, clay, swamps, sand, rocks, mud slicked hills, streams etc. It would be nice to see people test off road vehicles when the frost is coming out of the ground in the spring in the mid west. You'll see how capable your vehicle is then.
XD
great comparison video guys, thanks!! keep them coming!
The power wagon is the only real offroad ready truck you can buy from the factory.
I thought it was the Jeep Rubicon
@@Gator24 The Jeep isn't a 'truck.' The Power Wagon has all of the Rubicon features, but in a truck package. With Heavy duty axles......
My truck straight from the factory heavily used off roads better than any raptor will
I when with the Rebel. Mine has the air-suspension which raised to the hights position has no trouble going over anything on the trail with out touching. I will post the video later.
Please do make a video in the future about durability, dependability and repair cost of new trucks! Tons of tech for sure! But, how lasting?
As close as it was between the Rebel and Trail Boss, the rear diff lock on the Rebel was the tie breaker for me. The G80 simply doesn't work like the others in my opinion. Also I liked the Rebel interior much more.
Personally I would pay more for the Raptor. It’s 450HP/510 lb-ft, Adaptive off-road suspension and 5-star crash rating and much more technology makes it worth it to me. Btw- waiting on the drag race to know for sure...lol
Cost more and less reliable
@@Ckcdillpickle you own these truck to say facts or are you just pulling that out of your ass? Wait we know already
People also get upset when they don't close down plants, then have to be bailed out by the government.
True but this could have been avoided so they will open a new plant in Mexico instead of building cars people feel are reliable and they like
You would have thought Ford borrowed millions of USA citizens tax dollars to revamp their line and have a truck that puts out 100hp more ,117 ft lbs more torque and gets 1 mpg less even tho its wider, heavier, and sits higher in the wind, with larger heavier tires.
Agreed.
It was the worst truck and only $2k cheaper than the ram lmao
@@donevy9784 ...the worst....that z71 would outperform either of those 2 offroad all day long.!!!

@@AD-eq4kn Ford just outsells both........that doesn't say anything at all
If you put the $15,000 extra that the raptor costs towards parts for the chevy or the ram they could be better off road than a stock raptor easily. Which is the same reason they don't compare the chevy or the ram to the ford at the end.
@@Ahw1231 it must be nice to be so optimistic
I’m picking up my trail boss in two days and no I wouldn’t pay 15k extra because I don’t have 15k extra to pay. I’m getting a trail boss for 40k and do the jump from 40k to 70k for a raptor is huge!!! Plus if all the trucks I think the trail boss looks the best!
The raptor is an absolute unit
Ya for units
Over priced
Overrated at best
Waaaaaaaay overpriced. Traded mine in, liked it, always thought it was kinda ugly though. Got the trail boss and with the extra money, put King shocks/stouter suspension and it COMPLETELY blows the raptor away, not even funny. To each their own though.
@@erod6468 ikr I mean including my financial situation, I have to wait 7 years to buy the first gen Raptor to be affordable but maybe one day I will buy the Raptor
The raptor is pricey but it holds its resale value like crazy though.
Not that one. Only the v8 one is
They don't make a v8 version anymore and what do you mean they don't hold up in value with the 3.5L?
Jacob King that was not a smart thing to do... trading a new one for a gas draining crap!? Dumb move.
I'm going to need to double my meth sales to get that Raptor. Heading into the school zones.
Best of luck!

Im good with my old 94 ranger with a 3.7 6r80 swap. 23 average mpg and fast when i need it to be. But its still cool to see new tech with ford.

#1 Raptor, #2.5 Rebel, #2.5 Trail Boss.
Raptor for obvious reasons
Rebel locking diff and nicer interior.
Trail Boss approach/departure angle and looks nicer (outside) then the Rebel. Trail Boss should have come with an electronic locking diff.
I've blown up 3 fords... NEVER AGAIN! I don't care what they offer
I would pay extra for the Raptor. And I'm going to. Amazing truck.
If I had to choose between the Silverado, the Raptor, and the Rebel, I would choose the Power Wagon.

@Mike Smithey If I had to choose between Chevy, Ford, Dodge, or Jeep, I'd pick a SXS because they walk all over all of them.
And still not compete with the raptor......FWIW, I own a power wagon.....its a 68 W200...but still a Power wagon and still a crew cab....
The power wagon is a big heavy clunky commercial truck that’s not very good fooling around like the raptor is, the power wagon is literally just a 2500 with a junky Hemi and a winch and some corny decals, the raptor is literally a competition trophy truck that can hit jumps lmao
