This channel is a lifesaver. I was just a bible study, but I'd seriously considered getting baptized. My interactions with JW have severely emotionally and psychologically damaged me, and seeing debunking videos like this helps me make sense of how their teachings warped my mind.
The guilt is ever present once one buys into their teachings. You feel guilty until you completely shake off the idea that they might be right, then you feel stupid for having ever bought it to begin with. Speaking only from personal experience, as someone born into the cult. Im still fighting a crazy guilt complex.
Funny how a book, written by men that were supposedly “inspired” by god because god couldn’t be bothered to snap his fingers and bring it into existence like he did with the universe and humans, now apparently needs to be “translated” by a bunch of old dudes for it to make sense. Yeah, got it!
Great point. Wonder what jdubs would say in answer to this 'objection'? There's nothing that could make this nonsense sensical but I'd love to hear them try
Hahaa, exactly right... I also used to wonder about God's so-called magical abilities... but I am fooled no longer especially not by Sith lord Stephen Lett and his gang of lying old geezers!!
It doesn’t need to be translated. That’s the whole point. The whole NT was originally written in Greek. Anyone who knew/knows how to read/speak Greek would come away from reading that text understanding that Jesus was the Son of God who gave his life for the forgiveness of sins and rose again on the third day. That’s Christianity in a nutshell, believe that Jesus is who he says he is and his death and resurrection will cover you for your sins. No need to confuse yourself with translations.

Inconsistently replacing 'worship' with 'do obeisence to' when referring to jesus and keeping 'worship' when referring to Jehovah. Scholars have slammed them for this. Also adding a comma after the word 'today' to Luke 23:43 to make it look like the thief would not go to heaven immediate after death. So many more examples I'm sure

Honorable mention: when Goliath's height was confirmed to be found in the oldest known manuscript of 2 Samuel as "4 cubits and a span" in the Dead Sea Scrolls (discovered circa 1948) instead of "6 cubits and a span". NWT dogmatically sticks to the 9'6" height, when Goliath was probably more like 6'6".

You’re wrong Lloyd. The Organization translators are the only people that can interpret the Bible for us. Everything before the jdubs is obsolete. I know this because tony Morris told us so. ;-)
Yeah Lloyd, we grew up with this shit and like trusting an arrogantly bad doctor, we were crippled without knowing why. I think it's good you have done a good analysis. I also, have wondered why genocide was needed. All anyone ever said was "these were truly evil pagan god worshippers". Watchtower has always as they still do, leave out or deny truth.
One thing that annoys me about the Silver Sword is that bloody lame phrase, "loyal love". In the Hebrew and Greek Interlinear Bible it always says, "Grace", or "Undeserved Kindness", or "Mercy". There are other things that are incorrect too
Yes. It's annoying that they have eliminated the beautiful word "grace" and its deeper meaning because it's such a big deal with mainstream Christian doctrine. I've even heard an elder mocking this once when we were in field service
Great video Lloyd Eph 4:8 in the NWT is used as the basis for the authority of the elders as 'gift in men' The same verse in the WT Kingdom interlineal renders the verse properly declaring that gifts were given TO men.
Nothing makes me quite so angry as the fact I was conditioned to defend the language of these translations door to door with random strangers for the sake of "translators" who entirely made things up!!!!
Looks like Evans then has misled you. He has zero knowledge in the original languages, only compares translations(which is worthless)...yet you accept his video as being instructive???
How about adding the word Jehovah all over the New Testament whenever it says Lord, but not when it would screw things up for them. If they were consistent in Philippians 2:11 it would be a big problem. Great video!

This is one of my favorite subjects... The changes in the NWT are unending. I look forward to seeing more videos. One of my favorites is the example of Romans 10 10... 👍
Searching bible hub etc says in Roman 10 10 call on the name of Jesus... NWT changed it to Jehovah. Some version say Lord but almost all say Jesus. Google a lot of scripture I find that often there are obviously differences between JW. Org... Online bible and say any other bible version even KJV and is often misquoted on their website. NIV and NEIV, NRSV bible usually says what the common verse said. IDK but it seems clear that WT intentionally doctors their NWT bible as pointed out by Lloyd in this video 🤠
I may have to check again but chapter 10 verse 9 to 13 refers to Jesus is Lord anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved... NWT says Jehovah
WAIT!! Jepthahs daughter didn’t become a worshipper at the temple and was burned?!?! I never realized that I just bought the watchtower idea that he was so sad bc his only daughter wouldn’t get married, they completely changed that
The reason they put "a" in front of "God" is that their Greek is on the level of kindergartners. It is true that generally the absence of an article makes the noun indefinite, but to insist that this must always be the case is absurd from the outset and the fact that the phrase is inverted from a typical order ("kai Theos in o Logos" instead of "kai o Logos in Theos). Putting the predicate before the noun, as scholars point out, makes all the difference. The NWT reflects what we see from the Governing Body all over: infantile reasoning. As one might guess from my other posting on this video, I have extensive background with the Orthodox Church. I am a seminary graduate and was a subdeacon. I am not religious anymore. While my Orthodox background is most definitely trinitarian, I agree with Lloyd that the issue here is Greek grammar. Whether or not I still believe in God at all, as Trinity or otherwise, the sentence simply doesn't say what the JWs want it to say. Their understanding of Greek is on the level of "See John. See John run. Run John run." Whether one believes any of it or not, the text of John's Gospel is filled with highly theological ideas and lots of imagery. It is not the kind of material that is written in elementary school language.
I don't believe in God anymore but always had a hard time accepting the Trinity as being biblical. Now, I just think it's ridiculous to think that the universe's creator had generations of humans having to scribble down the texts and then supposedly, the original texts are to survive and be perfectly understood thousands of years later, where even a thing like articles can be missing. God is a terrible publisher.
I'm an avid fan of this channel. As a little girl I've always enjoyed reading the Bible and I truly believed the JW version was a truly improved one. Being forced to attend meetings and obey JW rules worsened my OCD and anxiety issues, but really, I remember feeling so proud to read with my own eyes where those rules came from and that JW translators were the best. It was one of my little comfort thoughts in that situation. I've been needing this video all this time, unknowingly. Discovering more lies is so fascinating and liberating for the adult me and the child I've been. Debunking material is now my comfort content. Thank you Lloyd, please keep sharing your researches.

In Splane’s apostate tirade he did say “consider the source,” while misinterpreting the lesson from that of the Berean’s, but ignoring that… Let’s follow Splane’s advice, and consider the source of “many scholars” as cited by WT as a source… I find that source to be dubious, and not to be trusted.

Here is another example: Hebrews 1:8 KJV « But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever, » Hebrews 1:8 NWT « But about the Son, he says: “God is your throne forever and ever, » This is another example where JW changed their Bible so to not recognize Jesus as God. In this chapter, the writer is saying that when the Father spoke about the Son, the Father addressed the Son as God. In the NWT they changed the phrase to « God is your throne » which just that phrase alone doesn’t make any sense !! What do they mean by that “God is your throne” ?

I reckon the worst scripture in the NWT is 2 Corinthians 5:20 "Therefore, we are ambassadors substituting for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us. As substitutes for Christ, we beg: “Become reconciled to God.” The GB have placed themselves in Jesus position as SUBSTITUTES FOR CHRIST.

Matthew 24:39. NWT ‘they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away. All other translations including JW’s own Kingdom Interlinear ‘they knew not’ or ‘they knew nothing about it’
One good example that you could explore is Romans 16:7. The majority view of scholars today is that this actually refers to Junia, a woman, instead of Junias, a man, and was censored by early christian copyists, because it seems to indicate that she was an apostle. Modern translations vary on this verse though. The male tradition is continued by NWT, probably because the original text of NWT before the 2013 revision indicated that "Junias" was an apostle. The word "men" is also added although it is missing from the original text. There are indications in the NT that Paul's liberal views on women were supressed by later church heads. This would suit the GB's biases as well.

Check out The Bible in living English by Steven Byington. This was published by Watchtower in 1972 until 1981 This bible has many damning scriptures such as John 1:1, 7:53-8:12, Phil 2:1-7, Rev 5:10 and so many more
My favorite citation from this bible is found in the forward, before one even turns to Genesis. *_‘As to the Old Testament name of God, certainly the spelling and pronunciation “Jehovah” were originally a blunder._*_ But the spelling and the pronunciation are not highly important. What is highly important is to keep it clear that this is a personal name._ (The Bible in Living English, 1972, p.7).
Wally from JW thoughts recently talked about how most translations saying that God hardened Pharaohs heart to the Israelites but the NWT has a more passive version because it doesn’t sit right with them that Jehovah would actively harden pharaoh’s heart.
Wasn't aware of them mutilating the story of Jephthah's daughter. I was aware of John 1.1 being mutilated (along with Colossians 1.16 and Hebrews 1.8).
Did the reasoning book tell us how to prove the verse in John had "a"? I don't even add it to my list of contradictions since they already have a canned response for it.
1.) Col 1:16 they add the word "other" which does not exist in the original greek to make it seem as if Jesus was created. 2.) Micah 6:8 is "cherishing loyalty" rather than "loving kindness" since they want their members to be loyal to them. 3.) If you subscribe to the Granville Sharp rule, Titus 2:13 should read "our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ". 4.) Heb 11:16 only NWT translates the greek word ἐπουρανίου as "one belonging to heaven" instead of "heavenly" because that scripture shows the faithful men of old going to heaven and not coming back to earth. Interestingly, that exact greek word is used in three other places and in those three places the NWT correctly translates the word as "heavenly".
Before the 2013 iteration of the NWT, the word "other" at Colossians 1:16 was in brackets; indicating or suggesting that this is an editorial addition. When it was brought to my atttention that the brackets had been taken out I rejected the NWT lock, stock, and barrel.

Throughout the Hebrew Scriptures, the word originally translated as "loving kindness" (Heb. "chesedh") was rendered "loyal love" in the 2013 revision, a rendering that often appears in the footnote of the 1984 Reference Bible, and suggested in the Insight article on "Kindness" (it-2 154). Micah 6:8 changed "to love kindness" into "to cherish loyalty", because a literal rendering ("to love loving-kindness/loyal love") would sound pleonastical. The meaning of the Hebrew word allows for a legitimate change in translation to make it clearer. The brackets around "other" in Col. 1:16, 17 and many other instances where words added to the English to make sentences complete and in harmony with the alleged Hebrew or Greek semantics were removed in the 2006 printing of the 1984 NWT. That version has "Some mechanical adjustments have been made on this printing" on the publishers' page, and it obviously includes the removal of brackets.
@@arthurwweber The Kingdom Interlinear says it right too, the Lord of Me and the God of Me. A good question then for Witnesses is ... Is Jesus the god of you?
The inclusion of the name Jehovah in the New Testatment is probably the most egregious. They just randomly replaced the words god and lord with Jehovah wherever they felt it works gramatically.
The reason they have the word jehovah instead of lord is because I’m the original Hebrew text it uses the word Yahweh which translates to jehovah from Hebrew to English
@@yessir263 The NT Originals were Greek not Hebrew and they didn't include a Greek version of Jehovah. JW translations are based on the Greek Septuagint which is translated from the Latin Vulgate, both ancient Catholic translations and neither include Jehovah. Jehovah existing in the original texts is straight BS from the governing body. Catholics include Jehovah all over the place in the OT in the New Jerusalem Bible but nothing in the NT.
Hi Lloyd, in earlier NWT when El (El was head of the pantheon of canaanite gods) or Elohim (the gods) were mentioned, they inserted (true) in brackets to read: (true) God. In latest silver sword they have done away with the brackets for (true) so it simply reads "true God" , a complete distortion to the original text.
Micah.6:8...In order to crave for more loyalty, the GB doctored this verse in 1984 NWT from "..to exercise justice and to love kindness..." to "to exercise justice and to cherish loyalty.." in 2013 NWT edition.

I discussed severla NWT verses with Furuli, regarding the Flood, and how WT pushes the narrative that Noah preached to the world. I'm really glad to see this video I've been hoping to see something along the lines of this for awhile. Here's two scriptures that I've come across in my research that could maybe be included in a future video. 2 Samuel 24:1 NKJV "Again the anger of the Lord was aroused against Israel, and He moved David against them to say, “Go, [a]number Israel and Judah." This scripture contradicts the version in chronicles where the devil is blamed for inciting David because it was written before the belief of a devil existed. The NWT attempts to correct this by adding "when one incited David" when the original text and all other translations that I've found clearly say it was God doing it. Romans 16:7 There was a bit of a debate about this scripture that the Ju'nias mentioned was actually Junia, a woman (Some of the translations I found even used the name Junia). I don't want to go too deeply into this but some suggest that she could have been a female apostle. The point is the NWT tries to completely shut out this debate by adding the word "men" to the verse in a place it's not found in any of the translations I've looked at
RELIGIONS ARE JUST GOOD TO SAY "GOD IS LOVE, GOD IS LOVE LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AND STILL DON'T OBEY, KILL THE SAME RELIGION BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN WELL TEACHED BY THEIR LEADER IN THE CHURCH.
What's worse with the number verse in the NWT is that JWs added "You MAY keep them alive" so when you think about it more, it's even worse as they can then threaten them with death unless they do exactly what they want... Edit: I didn't even notice they literally cut out the beginning of John chapter 8... In the Bible that I have now, it's not missing and I must say, it is used as an important part of The Gospel by the Orthodox Church...
@UCTUZiVxfFqPGWQqDWhfc06A If you are talking about the woman in John chapter 8, she became one of the highest members of earily Christianity and was never condemned by the church, but she was killed after Jesus died for being a christian... a.k.a. martyred.
Matthew 24:3 NWT: "Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” NRSV: "Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Other Bibles don't mention about "presence". Looks like this verse is modified for 1914 doctrine in NWT.
thanks for the video. as a Christian there are some more interesting ones, such as Hebrews 1:8, Colossians 1:15-17, multiple passages where the NWT translates "in union with" Jesus/Christ instead of ":in (Jesus/Christ)"... or verses where the NWT has used the term "grand master"... or "undeserved kindness" instead of "grace"... and there's more but most are fairly negligible.

I would argue that no sincere Christian would believe that God would allow one human being to murder another human being, (Thus breaking one of the ten commandments) then chopping up her body (it was only male animals used for sacrafice) then burning it. How would that be a pleasing sacrafice to God? Lead people away from watchtower yes, but preaching about the Bible, no.
Wow, I've actually just realized, that the Bible never says about Jephthah's daughter going to the tabernacle! It is indeed just a longshot guess by the JWs (or any other religion). Even though I've read the full Bible a couple of times. The indoctrination is so strong, that I was sure that the Bible explicitly says about the tabernacle, but it doesn't! The JWs just say that sacrificing people (literally by killing and burning them) was an atrocity among Israelites, forbidden by god, so it couldn't happen. But Israelites don't have a reputation of closely abiding by their god's rules, do they?

I once read an Bible sidenote that at that time it was normal for farm animals to enter/exit the house regularly. However, now I'd find that concept odd, and even if I accepted it I would wonder why Jepthah didn't consider the possibility of one of his family being the one to exit first.
@@joshuaa7266 Not to mention that god had to know and was a dick to let it happen. If anything, it shows him as a trickster god who twists the vow so it comes back to bite the guy on the ass. Either way, it reads as a fable with a moral, rather than an actual event.
I believe Jehovah could foresee that it would be Jephthah's daughter that would be the first to greet him, this is why he put it across to Jephthah to sacrifice her as a burnt offering to him.
Practically all the Bibles are badly translated, because they eliminate the polytheistic references. For example, in Genesis, by translating El as God instead of El, the Canaanite God whom Abraham originally worshiped. Yes, Abraham worshiped El, he did not worship Yahweh.
Yes he made idols with his father in Ur, and one of many god's they worshipped, was called El this a generic term for God. Elohim called Abraham then called Abram out of Ur to worship only him the true God not any idols. Elohim is who Abraham worshipped not El after he left Ur,

Hi Lloyd, thanks for the video. Regarding John 1:1, I was always buying the argumentation. And I have looked back online in resoning in the scriptures. What they add there is how John 6:70 and John 9:17 are translated and that analogie was always a strong aurgument for me which I even used in the preaching work. Can you debunk that as well? Honest question.
Hey Rick, I’m not Lloyd obviously but happy to chip in my two cents as a fellow atheist. I’d suggest both Trinitarian and anti-Trinitarian positions can absolutely be supported by cherry picking and emphasising the right verses from the bible. This is further complicated by religions claiming to receive new supplementary revelation from God. Lloyd as an atheist wouldn’t really have a horse in this race but in this video he is merely pointing out where Watchtower have warped the text to support their agenda.
I came to the same conclusion as you Lloyd, after hearing masses of arguements about the nature of God for and against the trinity,I concluded that if you want to believe in either you can dig up arguements for your belief, you can play the tune you want and convince yourself. If a supreme deity really cared he should have made things a damned sight clearer and not so contradictory.
I always thought Jeptheths life was sad and unfair having to basically become a number just because her father made a promise with god. And I did mental gymnastics to get myself to agree with it. Now to find she was killed. How horrible of god. And that the organisation covered that up wow
Not necessarily, it does not make sense she was killed since YHWH was against that. If she was to be killed she wouldn't be mourning her virginity for 2 months. Thats an excessive time for someone to die, and more likely if she did go it would have been mourning her life, which makes more sense she mourned her virginity since she was now going to become a nun at the command of the silly father. JWs are not the only ones who believe this. But they shouldn't have doctors lamenting to giving commendation. That makes me sick.
I am disgusted. And grieving this poor woman, if she was real, for the first time in my life. Reading the last paragraph from My Book Of Bible (horror) Stories, makes me sick.
Human sacrifice wasn't so prevalent in Jewish society except maybe in pockets of esoteric worship. Most likely she became a nun the same way Hannah offered Samuel to YHWH. That makes sense if she "wept for her virginity" for 2 months, if she was to be burnt alive then it would most likely he immediate, 2 months is such an excessive time for such a deed, however if she was going to live a vow of chastity as a nun then it makes more sense. The dishonesty is changing lamenting to commendation. That totally destroys the seriousness of the matter and how her father destroyed her life. Another GB doctrine to not question authority or have any feelings. JW not the only ones who believe she became a nun and although not JW- I agree she did become a nun. Burning her alive is preposterous.
Hello Lloyd, Judges 11:40 has been translated with same interpretation as NWT in few other Bible translations as well. Is this an overlook on your part? On little research, the Hebrew word used for lament in this verse gives a similar meaning as that of NWT. Also, the spirit of the verse doesn't seem to be deviating from the actual Hebrew text

At least the priestly stuff in numbers. Leviticus is almost entirely priestly. Definitely purge esther, but perhaps add 1enoch and 1-2 macabees. I also dislike ezra/nehemiah for its racism and xenophobia. That having been said, all of the bible is useful for study and analysis, including finding contradictions and discovering sources.
The biggest example that stands out for me as one that clearly promotes fear mongering, fear of dying, being left behind, and end of the world... Is where the replace the word "age" with "system of things"... The latter just has that deeper scary tone to it in my opinion.

Soooooo God intervenes and saves Isaac during his father's attempted (murder) human sacrifice, but not for nameless and female Jepthah's daughter, quelle surprise
Jephthah's daughter is NOT sacraficed. Why would she go to mourn her viginty for 2 months if she was going to die? Nowhere in the text does it say she was killed. Why was Jephthah so distraught then if she was going to serve at the temple,? Because. She was an only child! It meant he would have no descendants to carry on his family or give his wealth to. Jephthah was the son of a prostitue and had no claim to his father's name, so he was an outlaw and became a great warrior, that's why the people chose him, and why he would want his name to be continued. But furthermore, the text doesn't say person it's says what ever comes to greet me first. If it had been an animal a goat, then this is an unacceptable burnt offering to God. Not to mention that God does not allow human sacrifice anyway. Also Hannah goes up to the temple to pray for a child, for the 4 days to "remember Jephthah's daughter" why would they remember Jephthah's daughter for 4 days if she was never there? Dont believe everything Lloyd tells you is true. Research for yourself or you are doing exactly as you did in the watchtower. I am not a JW, I was, but now I'm a Christian.
@@lisapearson6455 It definitely doesn't say it in the NWT because it's been altered. Go to biblehub and compare it against all the other translations. (not that any version is the 'word of God' anyway) She was probably mourning her imminent DEATH. I know I would be. And Jephthah would have been distaught because of his daughter's imminent DEATH. And because it was all his fault. He wouldn't have been that distaught if she was alive serving as a nun in a temple, where he could visit whenever he wanted to. That doesn't make any sense! Do your research, don't just react to a comment exactly like a JW would do
@@jamieangel3766 it does not say " who" but "whatever" comes to meet me in the original text. "She mourned her imment death" for 2 months! Where does it say that? Funny how a book, written by men that were supposedly “inspired” by god because god couldn’t be bothered to snap his fingers and bring it into existence like he did with the universe and humans, now apparently needs to be “translated” by a bunch of old dudes for it to make sense. Yeah, got it!
God is a God of rules. He gave man the choice to follow him or not. There will be a time were we will all answer to him on how we lived our lives.
Great point. Wonder what jdubs would say in answer to this 'objection'? There's nothing that could make this nonsense sensical but I'd love to hear them try

Honorable mention: when Goliath's height was confirmed to be found in the oldest known manuscript of 2 Samuel as "4 cubits and a span" in the Dead Sea Scrolls (discovered circa 1948) instead of "6 cubits and a span". Watchtower's "doctoring" of the Bible is quackery and/or malpractice.
Hi Justin, where is the difference? pls excuse my blindness 😅

@@lisapearson6455 it really is not that important to me
Judges 11:31 tells us Jephthah would sacrifice his daughter (or first person who came to greet him) as a burnt offering.

In this chapter, the writer is saying that when the Father spoke about the Son, the Father addressed the Son as God.

John 20:28 Thomas' appellation of Jesus as "My Lord and my God" is changed in the New World bible, so as to deny his divinity.
No, John 20:28 is unchanged in the NWT, what differs is the way Watchtower interprets Thomas' words as a mere exclamation rather than a appellation.

I was a JW now I'm a Christian, but research this for yourself, NOWHERE in the Bible does it say she died, Christians do not believe she was sacrificed but went to serve at the temple. Why else would she mourn her viginty for 2 months? Surely she would be mourning the loss of her life! Don't just believe what you're told, go and research yourself.

I discussed severla NWT verses with Furuli, regarding the Flood, and how WT pushes the narrative that Noah preached to the world. There is no trace of any of this in the other translations, but NWT has no shame when it comes to adjusting the words to fit that narrative. Even Furuli agreed on several examples...

RELIGIONS ARE JUST GOOD TO SAY "GOD IS LOVE, GOD IS LOVE LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AND STILL DON'T OBEY, KILL THE SAME RELIGION BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN WELL TEACHED BY THEIR LEADER IN THE CHURCH.
The point is the NWT tries to completely shut out this debate by adding the word "men" to the verse in a place it's not found in any of the translations I've looked at
HAHA I made the same suggestion with 2 Samuel 24:1 on the second video in this series. Nice.

@UCTUZiVxfFqPGWQqDWhfc06A If you are talking about the woman in John chapter 8, she became one of the highest members of earily Christianity and was never condemned by the church, but she was killed after Jesus died for being a christian... a.k.a. martyred.
Romans 10:13 NWT "For “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved"
This entire chapter is talking about Jesus.
AMEN
It’s all about Jesus. ❤️
Matthew 24:3
NWT: "Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”
NRSV: "Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
Other Bibles don't mention about "presence". Looks like this verse is modified for 1914 doctrine in NWT.
Gotcha. Great catch, I didn't see it like that until you mentioned it. Thanks so much.
παρουσία
means "presence" not "coming." The NWT is correct.
thanks for the video. as a Christian there are some more interesting ones, such as Hebrews 1:8, Colossians 1:15-17, multiple passages where the NWT translates "in union with" Jesus/Christ instead of ":in (Jesus/Christ)"... or verses where the NWT has used the term "grand master"... or "undeserved kindness" instead of "grace"... and there's more but most are fairly negligible.
TNM 2 Corintios 5:20 "therefore, we are ambassadors SUBSTITUTING for Christ, [...] As SUBSTITUTES for Christ," (others Bible's versions don't use words SUBSTITUTING and SUBSTITUTES.

NWT, study edition: "And the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the holy ones who had fallen asleep* were raised up 53 (and people coming out from among the tombs after his being raised up entered into the holy city), and they became visible to many people. "
It has an explanation of sorts: "people coming out: Or “they who came out.” The Greek verb indicates a plural masculine subject referring to people, not to the bodies (neuter in Greek) mentioned in verse 52. This evidently refers to passersby, who saw the dead bodies exposed by the earthquake (vs. 51) and who entered the city and reported what they had seen."
"Evidently" in JW speech means "no proof".
@@stasacab What they don't tell: The word for saints is masculine and so the verb indeed refers to them and not to a not mentioned third party of people.

@@UnlikelypackX Hello all, I'm not a JW apologist. But, in this video, there is a discrepancy(regarding Judges 11:40). Lloyd has been very choosy and has selected only the translations that suit his argument and omitted other critical information. I pointed it out immediately during and after the live stream, by explaining it in comments section. But, that comment doesn't appear here. I tried reposting it couple of times thinking it might be a glitch. But, it's not. They're (a team of people along with Lloyd) screening all the comments instantly. They don't allow any comments that are critical about what Lloyd is saying. Now, how is this different from what watchtower is doing?? Controlling information and censoring any negative comments?? I feel Lloyd is doing exactly what watchtower is doing.. I need help from you guys in finding out more about this. If we blindly accept whatever is told here, we'll be followers of another cult.

I personally am not interested in getting involved in any other form of worship but I and many others are profoundly grateful to Lloyd (and Mark) for his insight and work.
@@milham76 I agree that his work to expose the watchtower is invaluable. But just because Lloyd says something is true of the Bible doesn't mean you should believe it. He neither knows his Bible nor understands it. Personally as a Christian I find it offensive that he teaches the meaning of scripture as someone who thinks he has understanding.
I am interested to this video. Anyway look for:
- Hebrew 1. Where it outwardly says that Jesus is God. But in their version it was changed as if Jesus is a "perfect creation of Jehovah.
-Col. 1:15-18 verses also tell that Jesus is God was change to look like he is" perfect creation". I read one of JW book it supports their doctrine that Jesus and Archangel Michael are the same person. So it's obvious why it was changed by their translators.
Anyway never knew they deleted the "he who is without sin cast first stone." story in their 2013 translations onwards. As I only read older one.

Who could have come out of Jepthah’s house that he would have been happy to offer as a burnt sacrifice? Such an idiotic story.

@Luis Nothing, in God's eyes :D
