When I was 12 I pointed out the carnivore dilemma to my dad, a loyal JW, and he surprised me by confiding that he thought it was figurative and the society was misinterpreting it as literal, something he probably wouldn't have dared tell most people. My family towed the line, they were missionaries, so it made me wonder how many JWs secretly disagree with the society on this most obvious point and just don't dare to admit it. Probably a good half.
I'm not related to JWs at all but have a similar belief of the 1000 years, my thoughts are either lab grown meat, or we genetically modify all the carnivores to become herbivores.
Anyone that knows much about biology would know that carnivores physically cannot survive on plant matter as their gastrointestinal tract isn't sophisticated enough. Herbivores typically either have multiple stomachs in which plant matter is fermented (like ruminants) or crops full of stones (like certain birds or sauropods) or they have extra long intestines (like perissodactyl ungulates such as horses) to extract as many calories and vitamins and minerals from the vegetation they eat as possible. Herbivory evolved millions of years later than carnivory, as it is easier for an animal to turn meat into flesh than it is to extract protein from plants or biosynthesize it. So yeah, I'm sure you're right, I bet tons of JWs harbor unspoken doubts about that teaching, among several others.
My grandmother told me the same thing. When I got disfellowhipped she also told me she didn't agree with the arrangement and never had. And she's been baptized for 60 years. It is her philosophy to quietly disbelieve things that don't make sense to her and wait for the GB to catch up LOL

It's funny how even your comment highlights an issue with the whole thing. Since JWs are so opposed to higher education, only a small fraction of them possesses any kind of expertise, especially in aviation. Who's going to construct the planes, once all the planes left after Armageddon (if there even would be any) exhaust their operational timeline? Who's going to be pilots? Who's going to operate the airports? Who's going to mine the crude oil? Who's going to refine it into jet fuel? @lloydevans why does God need an Army of Angels to destroy mankind in Armageddon? How about sending them to earth to help and assist humans to be better or how to better. I means that's another way of saving lives.

When I was a kid, I straight up assumed paradise would basically be magic-made. None of it would work if it was based on anything resembling reality as we know it. My boss's father seems to think he'll be keeping the exact same house he's living in now, so he refuses to leave it to anyone when he dies. That had me cracking up laughing.
As a JW kid, I was told if there wasn’t enough room for all the humans on Earth, they would be transported to terra-formed planets in outer space. That’s why there were so many planets in an infinite universe. I don’t know if that’s an official JW teaching (wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t), but as a JW kid, it sort of made sense. I think they were trying to appeal to me as a Star Trek fan.🤷♂️
Some JW's have a highly vivid and abnormal imagination. Where in the world do they dream up all that craziness? Nothing they say is scriptual, it all comes from out the top of their heads....smh.
So everyone who has ever lived is to be resurrected and given chance to turn into a JW ? So, you could be sat at your paradise picnic table, eating your grapes and sat next to Jack the Ripper, or Dr Crippen, or even Hitler? What fun!
Your use of "eye roll" triggered me in a good way. During one assembly an admonition was given directly to sisters not to show displeasure - even with body language - by shaking your head, crossing your arms or, god forbid, *rolling your eyes* if you disagreed with something being taught re the sisters' role(s). At that moment I knew I had to leave, and leave I did.

The only time I tried these topics with JW's their answer (and final solution/conclution) was: "Jehova will provide, we don't need to worry about those things"... really...??? There's no way to try to reason with them... it's literally fighting against the wind 😪
So people will be "assigned" to live in designated places, even if that's not what they like? Heck, they'll learn to like it! Just like they'll learn to drop the gay! Paradise is starting to sound rather like a totalitarian theocracy. We always used to hear how the Earth would be restored to a paradise like Eden. In fact, the Garden of Eden was presented as the blueprint for what all of Earth was supposed to look like, if only Adam and Eve hadn't messed up. I don't recall Genesis talking much about apartment complexes in Eden.
As an ex jw, I think the implication is everybody is going to WANT to live in the way Jehovah has planned...complete 100% unity of mind and thought and desire with Jehovah. Thats why not everybody is getting in.
Thank you for answering the questions not one JW wanted to go over with me since I was a child. You explain it beautifully. The scripture where Jesus says Todays you will be with me in paradise. Well Jesus is in Heaven , so Paradise is in heaven.
I asked my mom once what would happen if a dead person resurrected and saw that their spouse re-married. She said that she didn’t know but would ask a “more spiritual” sister. What the sister basically said was that, jehova would make sure that the person resurrected would lose the love for their spouse and basically marry another person in paradise. I am sure the sister pulled that out of no where because it didn’t make any sense to me lol
I love your videos Lloyd, they're very entertaining and make so much sense. I used to ask myself these questions to myself but I would shrug everything off "Jehovahs going to make me happy" was always the answer. Nice haircut btw. Keep em coming.

Lloyd, I live in a desert state in the USA. It’s a beautiful place. There are beautiful cactus plants that bloom beautiful flowers that are used by the native Indians to cure certain diseases.
You need to spend your energy on yourself and get yourself into a better place. Your mum is invalidating and belittling you, she will probably never agree with you because she will have to admit that she was wrong.

@@JustMark87 Or God just waves his magic wand and "hey presto" all problems disappear.
David…remember it’s ‘livvy-oh-sah’ not livvy-oh-soh’ … :-)

Great. Paradise is being assigned where we live, even if we dislike it? How is that perfection or paradise? eye roll
@@junejunie2284 One thing I am so happy to leave behind is the notion that disagreement with a man or the organization = disrespect. Uggg. Hard pass. Fuck patriarchy.
@@SaffronHammer they need to call it disrespect to bring the disagreement to a screeching halt. In many cases they're just not intelligent enough to debate the issue. Can't admit to that and feel superior.
The fact is if you disagree with a man it's considered disrespect, but the opposite is true it's disrespectful to women to gaslight them like this.
@@yvonne3903 I don't quite get what you're trying to say....
I choose to be in a state of mind where at times I feel like I am already in a paradise! Thank you Lloyd for your rational thinking and some science and commen sence!
The only time I tried these topics with JW's their answer (and final solution/conclution) was: "Jehova will provide, we don't need to worry about those things"... really...??? There's no way to try to reason with them... it's literally fighting against the wind 😪
Always that answer.
I'm in Jordan now, so true... the variety of the earth is gorgeous. Would hate a world without this beautiful desert ecosystem.
Okay, no marriage, no sex, no children, right? Then what is the use of being either female or male? I guess we will lose all the fun parts.
It'll just be so we know who has to do all the cooking and cleaning 😉
@@ResearchThis considering how the sisters are treated that's probably it!
And the penis becomes just a handy urination tool. That's if people urinate in the new system - and if they do, perhaps the sisters get one too.
How are we supposed to have a wee then?
@@philipdalton1000s we get a cloaca like a platypus!
Was a great idea to go through this subject, and remind many of us,of all the crazy things we used to believe.
Brilliant remarks, thank You Lloyd for sharing Your deep thoughts with us. 🙏🙏🙏 it really makes sense!
Hey everyone... Hope your all great
Back at cha bro! 👍🏽💕🇨🇦
😂
I love your videos Lloyd, they're very entertaining and make so much sense. I used to ask myself these questions to myself but I would shrug everything off "Jehovahs going to make me happy" was always the answer. Nice haircut btw. Keep em coming.
I also thought that it would be awesome to be part of building this new paradise.
This is the best explanation I have seen. Lloyd I thank you so much for your information. I hope you continue to help people. I am not a JW but my husband is.
SAUCEY CEDARS....hes at it again!!! Thanks for the content Lloyd as always....stay SAUCEY
I can't believe that I believed all those unlogical "hopes" for 10 years in my life, what a craziness 😢
When I was ‘IN’, I thought (of course, not out loud) that living FOREVER with some of the witnesses that I could barely stand to sit through a meeting with WAS NOT going to be paradise!!!!!! 😝🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤔🤗
Just had a conversation with my mom about me having doubts and she broke down to tears. I felt so bad making her feel this way. It’s either I suck it up and keep my family, or be free and loose them. 😔
what happened? try to speak with your parents and open their eyes to what society is... lying cowards.
Instead of cart work we'll have fruit stands 🍉🥭🍍🍓🍒🍎🍇
And fruited hats...🤨
Well done once again Lloyd. Your reasoning is so clear.
I used to get so frustrated with the way some scriptures were literal but even a few scriptures later oh no that's figurative. Revelation is the worst for this within the organization.
Lloyd, I live in a desert state in the USA. It’s a beautiful place. There are beautiful cactus plants that bloom beautiful flowers that are used by the native Indians to cure certain diseases.
My very jw mom gets so mad when I ask these type of questions and says I'M being ridiculous.
You need to spend your energy on yourself and get yourself into a better place. Your mum is invalidating and belittling you, she will probably never agree with you because she will have to admit that she was wrong.
"Tough , deal with it" I lost it at that bit!!! Paradise City is certainly a new one , can't believe my family still go along with all this... And as for the music video!!! 🤣 Great video Lloyd your reasoning is faultless! Keep up the good work of the truth of the "truth"
What about the first humans, like Neanderthals! That could be interesting to see. LOL. Great grandpa ²⁰⁰⁰⁰
First humans ? . Try Orrorin or one of the other early hominids
I assume resurrection would apply to only people going back to circa 4000 BCE, when Adam was made out of clay... No? 🤔 😂
Hence, I think Lloyd's point about hundreds of billions of people being resurrected is incorrect... That would probably be going back all of Homo Sapiens history, which involves evolution. 😬 😉
That's a very good question
I remember my father telling me that in the war lions were fed hay, and with proud in his eyes he said that they never looked better. I was 6 and knew then that it was not for me....
I can remember when I was either 14 or 15,,in Biology class at high school and learning that cats are obligate carnivores. Learning that started to shift my mind against the years of being taught as a kid that "all animals will eat straw, grass " and was a catalyst for realising that all their doctrine on this matter makes no sense.
Anyway. As always Lloyd. Fantastic video!
Animals and people were vegetarians before the flood
Hey Lloyd, I’ve been watching you for a long time and I think this is your best video yet. Keep up the good work. 😎❤️❤️
