There's a joke I heard I'll tell it the way I heard it. They have there was this litter of puppies. This little girl was trying to give away the puppies. She was saying Catholic puppies for sale at Catholic puppies for sale. Nobody took the puppies. Couple days later she was selling the puppies and she said free puppies Joe witness puppies for sale. And the man asked her to saw this little girl why were yesterday they were catholic puppies for sale and now they're free puppies Jehovah witness puppies today. Because the little girl said well their eyes were shut before and now their eyes are open. That's the joke. That was a genuine Jehovah witness joke. They even brainwashed themselves in their jokes.
I cannot thank you enough for your content. My mom was horribly traumatized by this cult and her entire life she has been haunted thinking she is a bad person even though me and other people in our family are no longer part of the witness cold and try to tell her she's not. How did you convince your mom to watch? I ask because I’m currently gathering information to send to them by mail for them to read for themselves. Im also sending them the audio of a convention talk from1974 discussing the end of the world in 1975.

And that everything we have been telling her how disfellowshipping is wrong shunning is wrong the things that were done to her was wrong other people were saying the same thing. that there's many people out there that have had the same or very similar experiences that we had. I did relay some of the information that Lloyd had on his videos. Also my cousin has had several family members watch videos from Lloyd Evans all of them said that they feel healed and have peace in their heart. When my cousin told my mom this she immediately watched. After watching several videos certain ones we definitely pointed out that would be extremely helpful to her; she says she feels completely healed. I don't think Lloyd realizes just how many people he's helping. People who are deeply traumatized and he is making a massive difference. Just in my family alone his content, videos and guess have healed five people. my mom's experiencing total peace in her heart and in her life for the first time

They'd be better off dusting off the old publications and just using them again! But lets be honest here, the real reason for new light is probably to keep the sheepys interested. I can't believe I was so close in getting baptized...I snapped out of it when they helped me write a letter to my church to basically renounce my indoctrination as a Catholic. I was never a JW but in a vulnerable part of my life living in a small town they turned up. They were really friendly and seemed nice at surface level. A nice middle aged couple offering some spiritual guidance They were very perceptive and picked up fast we were not happy. My partner was a soft target she was at the time going through a spiritual crisis and looking for purpose. The bible study started I could not stand it in the end. The changes in my partner were astonishing to they point they were telling her we should not be having sex or sharing a room out of wed lock. I eventually would not allow them in our home my partner went away to these stupid studies. It was a Hamer blow to our relationship and we split for a while. Her family managed to eventually convince her JW is a poisonous lie. To any one considering joining DO NOT let these people near you or your family. These people prey on the vulnerable, create divisions in families or relationships if they are given an opportunity. My heart goes out to the people that are stuck in this cult.

They (JWs)are like Vultures circling a weak animal or wounded one. I know what you mean about changes in your girlfriend when she started studying with the Witnesses. Although pre-marital sex was an absolute no-no for me before I became a JW in my early 20s, due to my strict upbringing by Evangelical Christian parents, the JWs view even kissing or hugging as off-limits in order to be considered "morally clean". I developed a terrible guilt complex as a result and decided to break up with my boyfriend when I started studying to become a Jehovah's Witness. My bf had introduced me to his JW family and I started studying the Bible with one of his sisters. I now know that he was a POMI (physically out but mentally in) and marrying a non-JW was not going to be accepted by his family. Even when I became a JW I was discouraged from dating ones who are viewed as "spiritually weak". Many JWs look for their potential marriage partners through the lenses of spiritual strength and "goals" in the organisation first and foremost. The more lofty the goal or title, the more eligible the potential mates, e.g., special pioneer, Gilead / missionary service, Bethel service. A convention talk was given once by a Governing Body member encouraging sisters to look for potential mates who are at least a ministerial servant. The prize for most sisters are brothers who are elders or Bethelites as some others are rarities such as Special Pioneers. True story: It happened to me. I moved to a new congregation about 2 years after I was baptised. I was discouraged from "associating" with a super nice brother who liked me very much and who I also liked. I was strongly encouraged to stay away from him because he was not spiritual. The lack of "spirituality" turned out to be that he was not "scripturally divorced" and was a "fringe" Witness. The elder who spoke to me told me I needed to work on building my faith and wait on Jehovah to bring me a worthy marriage mate! With this in mind I distanced myself from the brother and never did get married nor considered myself spiritually strong enough to allow myself to date anyone for the 27 years that I stayed in the organisation lest I be found out the be the shallow JW I was who rarely auxiliary pioneered or occasionally served where the need is great just for show . Because of this told myself that I was not JW wife material and became an AAA (available after Armageddon) when I would become perfect and find the perfect mate (what a load of crock!). What I admired as "strength" such as absolute faith in the Governing Body which I struggled to cultivate I now realise was due to the fact the majority of JWs that I associated with were born into the religion and their families were in it for generations and knew nothing else.
The only reason the WT has “new light” is to keep the rank and file excited about the organization and reinforce their beliefs, as well as convince them that the governing body is still receiving direction from god himself. The WT has to occasionally change out the carrot at the end of the stick every so often or else the same carrot becomes old, shriveled and unappetizing, and not worth the effort to chase after.
Thats a good point, my thought is right in line with yours, along with the direction from God, I think it serves to spark the thought of "what if", what if I am found to be a goat. And since they've exhausted their "generation" con, now it's gotta be something else to bring to mind the Great Tribulation manipulation. Same old con, just re-packaged.
They won’t. RUclips and Watchtower are not on the same team on this. RUclips makes money from creators who bring in traffic. Lloyd Evan’s channel is very well researched, and made. The numbers don’t lie. I’m not even subbed to it, and still watching it. They won’t drop him. Trust me.
@@tiadiad I hope that is so. Was never baptized but studied with them and went to Kingdom Hall on and off for 5 years. Was enrolled in the Theocratic Ministry School and came dangerously close to starting door to door witnessing when I finally woke up and left. Lloyd's channel is the best at demonstrating the huge bullet I dodged that could've ruined my life.

So, if "new light" is needed to correct the "new light" you had yesterday, which at the time you claimed came from God, then, are you saying God gave you 'bad' light? Why would God do that? And if the Bible doesn't change, why do you have to keep updating the "truth"? When something is true, it is true and that's the end of it. The reasonable conclusion, therefore, is that Jehovah's Witnesses neither received any light from God nor have the Truth.
And keep your eye on their competition. We may not see it in the short run, but they are all famous for their shifting doctrines and dogma. "It is all true today and with out error - today under our better understanding today, and forget about all those earlier faithful who sacrificed all their work and earthly goods and their lives in sacrifice as martyrs." Sorry Lloyd Evans but YOU FORGOT the most important thing! The new "light" from Jehovah of 2019 says that the locusts are the Babylonian armies and NOT Jehovah's Witnesses. The problem with this interpretation is that it was already given in Matthew Poole's famous Biblical Commentary on Joel in 1685 and in Matthew Henry's 1706, both of which are available online! So the scholars of "Satan's world" already knew 400 years ago what they only discovered in 2019. Isn't that strange?
I know the answer to this. When I had similar questions/observations I was told that Satan leaves bits of truth scattered in his lies. That is the proverbial bait in the trap.

Jeffrey Jackson talks about how you wouldn’t shoot a dog in the middle of the night for barking as a potential warning for danger. My father, an elder and “upstanding” member of the congregation shot our family dog in the middle of the night once because it wouldn’t stop barking. Completely unhinged, abusive and full of anger is the elder that I grew up with. Real nice organization that promotes abuse of children by the hands of their parents by not sparing the rod and emotional blackmail if you don’t conform to the way of their cult. Kirsten, I was married to a very abusive man. They would tell me" if he killed you"! Bla bla bla. They see one way even though the bible says there is no room in marriage or raising children for abuse. But they are true hippocrates.
My thought is: So Jehovah has to SLOWLY reveal his scripture to humans? Why? Humans aren’t stupid, they can handle these teachings. If it’s really the truth, then everything should’ve been taught the same way this whole time!
This has always been my opinion too. Why was it done slowly? Truth is the same it doesn’t vary and none of it was so shocking we couldn’t handle it. The only reason left is that they had it wrong the first time and “new light” is a handy excuse to change their minds without looking incompetent.

JWs say 'The light is getting brighter' Well, think about this for a moment.... Imagine you went into a room and it was pitch black with no light in there. There are chairs and a table, a chest of drawers, a coloured carpet, a lamp and a vase of flowers. You know these things are in the room, but you can't see them. Now, turn on a small light. You start to see the outline of the things there As the light gets brighter, you start to see the details clearer. But, as the light gets brighter, the items don't change. They just get clearer. So, how does that work when the JWs say the light getting brighter CHANGES the original idea? Brighter light simply shows what's there in a clearer way...not CHANGING the things that are there. The whole idea of 'Brighter light' does not agree with the concept of ideas changing....it would just make ideas clearer. When JWs flip-flop their beliefs under the illusion of 'brighter light', it cannot be used, even as a metaphor. Just sayin'
The Bible doesn’t change and nor has it for the last 2000 years. But yet the amount of changes the organization has made in the last 100 years saying it’s from God and that the Bible says something different contrary to the current beliefs
Now that I think about it, not reading the bible in context, whether that is the surounding scriptures, the individual book, or the history of that book it's culture supposed writers, is the reason this religion is so messed up or even exists to begin with. When I remember that there founder's, CT Russell, way of coming to the "truth" was to look up every scripture on a topic compare them and decide what they thought it ment. This video made me realize that is there whole problem. It was when I decided to actually read the bible in order and context and cross reference it with itself not WT literature that my doubts really solidified.
It’s like it used to be ok to smoke and celebrate Christmas. Well when Jesus said “they will know you are my followers because you are no part of the world” So, whatever the word does, JW’s shouldn’t do it. And it should’ve been that way the whole time.
When you think about it, it seems the governing body prefers blaming God by saying it’s him that give (or didn’t give) knowledge in time, rather than admit they made a mistake themselves. They transfer all the responsibility on God. Not only it’s a lack of humility but it’s also an indication that they don’t actually care about knowledge if they just don’t believe it’s worth pursuing, and that it's something that will just be “bestowed” upon them miraculously and without any efforts.

I had no idea what you or they were talking about in regards to The Locusts. I was born into the religion, and was a fervent POMI until I was 30, yet I still never had a firm grasp on the prophecies. It's not as if I never tried to get to know the "The Truth", but nothing besides the colourful story telling and the sense of community and brotherhood really reached me; in fact, a sense of purpose was the only real reason I got baptised. Although I did (and still do) consider myself to have a close bond w/ "Jehovah"). The rest sounded like a big, thirty year yawn of the same thing over and over again, with no real answers in sight. It wasn't until I took a job as a flight attendant that I finally saw the world for what it really was... which was actually exactly like I expected, not that scary. Life is tough but colourful. It is what you make it. You quickly find out that religion is not the answer to Existentialism, in fact, it's nothing but a hinderance to free thought; and therefore, truth. It didn't take much for my house of cards to crumble, and some JWs would argue that it's because I was never firmly planted in "The Truth", or didn't actually put the work in to develop a relationship with God. That's what hurts so much... that even though I got baptised rather young, in line with what I was advised to do by those I was supposed to trust, I was shunned and essentially typecast for the rest of my life because I chose to be honest with myself and stand up for what I believe in; which wasn't in line with them. If I only I had known then & there what I know now, I wouldn't have gone ahead to try and appease myself with the religion by spending years trying to get reinstated. Once I did, though, nothing changed. I had moved to the other side of the world already, but no one had ever checked on me; even out of pity. Nobody has ever come to visit me, or has ever reached out to me. I'm into my 30's now, and all I can really say is that I'm happy to have made it this far, and I've seen some amazing things, but I was robbed of developing a real life in my twenties because I was essentially made to believe I was "crazy." Even as a child, I never actually believed in any of it, I just went along with it because the fear of Armageddon was so deeply instilled in me that when battling it out in my mind, Armageddon always won; to the point it gave me nightmares. I can remember two distinct nightmares, to this day. They both involved me sitting up in bed in the middle of the night, looking out the window, and seeing enormous, bright white asteroids reminiscent of jellyfish (or something alien) barreling towards Earth on a starry night. It was desperate and horrifying, the feeling of imminent death... and that's what you grow up with. Regardless of all the decisions I've made based on that fear mongering, I'm still considered a black sheep. My family are still fervent, and I'm still full of scars, but I can't reveal anything because I'll have nothing left. All I ever tried to do was get back to where I was from, but they had already forgotten me. No one ever checked on me.
The History of the JWs shifted each time a new Director was installed. It's odd that people would stay after the shifting of theology on an almost annual basis or when they got caught in error and than changed policy. It is obvious the Watchtower were constantly covering their hind quarters by each new directive

Some of the last words in the bible warn people not to add to or subtract from the bible, else Jesus will not write their name in the Book of Life. I am a slack JW ( of 30+ yrs)and still am, and for many years, i for similar reasons Lloyd gives, I concluded years ago, that the GB really had NO idea about the bible prophecy.
Absolutely true. I keep thinking about the recent update on the 'locusts' and the 'we read it in context' rationale for the update. Or, more tellingly, the 'overlapping generation' teaching which has to be the most absurd bit of theology ever presented. And it exists for the sole reason that the timeline from 1914 has, itself, reached a use-by date from which they can no longer tenably hold to it as 'truth.' But, keep believing and hoping 'even if it makes no senser from a human standpoint.'
Having had a similar departure and awakening as Lloyd but in the late 80’s, and having been a zealous member for 25 years before that, I am impress by the revealing research and perfectly documented expose on this debunking subject. What it’s most hurtful to my heart is how this new readjustments about the judgment of the sheep and the goats reinforce their grip on the rational to judge and reject people now to keep the ranks disciplined and in morbid fear of being condemned if rejecting one of the arguable beliefs that any humane individual would have doubts about. Radical dividing ostracism, birthdays, blood practices, and many many more. Control, Control, Control. Despite all contradictions and failed predictions, inhumane mind control is sacred. Very tragic.

Of added interest John 16:13 says that the spirit will guide Christians into ALL the truth. Receiving half truths or outright lies for decades or centuries is not what the Bible teaches.
I knew a regular pioneer who would visit a brothel in the afternoon then be at the meeting that very same evening 'counselling' his fellow JW's on whatever was the flavor of the month lol He eventually went on to be a missionary somewhere.

Greetings dear sir! I am currently in a conversation with a JW. I have never studied the Bible in depth, and I feel like this JW is cherry-picking our journey through the books. I consider myself a christian in a Jordan Peterson kind of way, like Jungian psycology and through clinical psychology and of course stoic philosophy. We have deep conversations once a week, and I have him kind of interested in a very pragamtic interpretation of the Bible. He really likes to hear me read from my source material and my 4 different Bibles (probably because his organization prohibits him from reading other materials).We have covered several core problems of the faith, but I would like to know what topics I should study and bring up in our next conversation, to make him think outside the JW bubble. Any sugestion will be much appreciated.

At 20:20 I reply to the “watchdog” analogy. No. I wouldn’t shoot the watchdog for his continual barking. However, like the boy who cried wolf, you just tend to ignore him after several misdeeds. Over exaggerating with the “shooting” aspect, as usual 🙄
The people who run the organization are aware that they can control mental unstable people with the content they place, and that is a big responsibility and there is no justification if the manipulation is harmful. And in my opinion, there is no manipulation that is not harmful, every kind of manipulation does not lead to spirituality or mental / emotional maturity. For such damage, liability will have to be borne.
The more the GB talk, the more they are backing themselves into a corner. All of this flip flopping now, in the age of the internet, is clearly taking its toll.
New light also made me finally open my eyes and stop feeling guilty about walking away from the cult. It makes no sense. It's not increasing, but rather intermittent. Stuff like the blood question, they keep moving the goalpost. Now it's okay to take fractions, then it wasn't, tomorrow it's a personal decision. Too bad that somebody might die because of following the doctrine to the letter. Or get disfellowshipped because not following it. So what about those people? Which light was the correct one now? And who bears the fault for making bad doctrine and ruining lives? The JW religion is just yet another man made and deeply flawed religion, based on utter nonsense such as numerology, and the backwards ideas of some old farts on a publishing companies' board of executives.
I'm a 3rd gen. Witness I've been out since I was 18 I'm 24 but I've always had a tie to my heart for the truth. But I've questioned more and more and realizing not everything was true. But I always thought it was the closest one that something was different about jehovah's witnesses. But one thing I never looked at was where the money goes I always thought for sure it was donations. But one day i finally got the courage to research it i read articles but came across your video and learned about the big tobacco stocks and the suing the government for money and the pedophilia. But another thing I found when I found your videos was the ex jw community and it's not horrible and evil like I was taught I thought I was alone or just by myself when it came to other witnesses questioning.
You are a 3rd generation JW. So how could you honestly know JWs were closest to the truth? The only knowledge you'd have of other Christian beliefs is filtered through what the JW publications claim about them. My parents converted to JWs. My father was a Methodist by birth, my mother Baptist. Yet neither of them really had any idea what those denominations teach. They had not studied them in any sort of depth before converting to JW. So they just parrots what the Watchtower claims. I'll give you a challenge. Don't even worry about exJW "apostates". Go look at what leading Biblical scholars say. If you want to know what beliefs are held, toss aside the JW tinted glasses and see what they actually say. Find out why they have different beliefs than JWs not filtered through what the Watchtower claims as to why. Here on RUclips, go over to the Bible Project channel. Or search for videos from Old Testament scholars like John Walton, Tremper Longman, New Testament scholar NT Wright. Or check out New Testament scholar Con Campbell's brilliant In Pursuit of Peter and In Pursuit of Paul documentaries on the Our Daily Bread channel. William Lane Craig has a ton of indepth videos of various doctrines, including the Trinity on his drcraigvideos channel. You will find a whole world of scholars who have dedicated their lives to studying the Bible out of love for God. And unlike the Governing Body, these men can actually read the Biblical texts in their original languages.

A girl i used to be friends with popped up on my instagram and i feel so sad that she is still so in and so believing. I know she will probably never be out because her whole family is the model family everyone looks up at. I just really miss her and keep trying to understand how can they really not see anything wrong with the teachings.

Hypocrisy and double standards seem commonplace. They told me I had to break up with my non Christian fiancé (I didn’t, nor did I ever entertain the thought), but it was perfectly okay for other members to have non JW spouses and even an elder whose wife I never saw at meetings. 🙄
I left 20 years ago & my parents are still going strong. It breaks my heart bc they are not dumb people. I don't understand why they can't see through it. Even as a younger kid, it just didn't add up to me. Plus I HATED knocking on doors & giving talks. 🤣 I always knew it wasn't for me, but I didn't realize how hard it is to actually leave. These folks chased us from address to address, calling, "dropping by"; my sister received a letter with some literature a couple of weeks ago, addressed to a surname she hasn't used in a decade. 😵 The two judicial meetings I was involved in, outta nowhere they asked if "heavy petting" or any sexual acts occurred. It was a tad disturbing to be questioned alone by two elders in a room, trying to guilt me over getting drunk the first time at 17, knowing that a married brother grabbed my 15 yo sister's ass & said gross things to her, but that would go unpunished by them.

I am reminded here of the Watchtower article that started to wake me up. It used the example of a sail boat tacking in the wind, going first one way and then the other to get to the desired location. Reading this made me think why would God reveal things in such a haphazard way.

Lloyd, this particular video of yours reminds me of one that I saw many years ago of Frederick Franz in a courtroom being questioned by (I presume) a prosecutor, who had, by skillful questioning got Franz into a position in which he was reluctantly forced to admit that “new light” teachings obviously meant that the ones that they were replacing were ERROR! I remember how hesitantly Franz said”...well, error”. Don’t know if you’d ever seen that video clip? I found it very gratifying to watch 😆.
When I was a JW, changes in the official GB positions on things, was officially explained away by them , as being compared to a yacht tacking but still overall moving forward !!
I remember studying the proclaimers book and that’s when I first started having doubts it just didn’t make sense followed by further doubts with all this so called new light, old light and continually changing their minds. So glad I’m fully awake, it was along process for me but speed up with the help from Lloyd Evans, thank you very much for all your hard work bringing true light on this organisation

What fascinates me here is that the sheep and goats adjustment is based SOLELY on the analysis of an illustration. As in, the ILLUSTRATION is used as the basis for the change. No scriptural justification is made to support it. Just that the illustration they just came up with governs how they should interpret the prophecy!

And that everything we have been telling her how disfellowshipping is wrong shunning is wrong the things that were done to her was wrong other people were saying the same thing. that there's many people out there that have had the same or very similar experiences that we had. I did relay some of the information that Lloyd had on his videos. Also my cousin has had several family members watch videos from Lloyd Evans all of them said that they feel healed and have peace in their heart. When my cousin told my mom this she immediately watched. After watching several videos certain ones we definitely pointed out that would be extremely helpful to her; she says she feels completely healed. I don't think Lloyd realizes just how many people he's helping. People who are deeply traumatized and he is making a massive difference. Just in my family alone his content, videos and guess have healed five people. my mom's experiencing total peace in her heart and in her life for the first time

I was never a JW but in a vulnerable part of my life living in a small town they turned up.
They were really friendly and seemed nice at surface level.
A nice middle aged couple offering some spiritual guidance
They were very perceptive and picked up fast we were not happy.
My partner was a soft target she was at the time going through a spiritual crisis and looking for purpose.
The bible study started I could not stand it in the end.
The changes in my partner were astonishing to they point they were telling her we should not be having sex or sharing a room out of wed lock.
I eventually would not allow them in our home my partner went away to these stupid studies.
It was a Hamer blow to our relationship and we split for a while.
Her family managed to eventually convince her JW is a poisonous lie.
To any one considering joining DO NOT let these people near you or your family.
These people prey on the vulnerable, create divisions in families or relationships if they are given an opportunity.
My heart goes out to the people that are stuck in this cult.

I know what you mean about changes in your girlfriend when she started studying with the Witnesses. Although pre-marital sex was an absolute no-no for me before I became a JW in my early 20s, due to my strict upbringing by Evangelical Christian parents, the JWs view even kissing or hugging as off-limits in order to be considered "morally clean". I developed a terrible guilt complex as a result and decided to break up with my boyfriend when I started studying to become a Jehovah's Witness. My bf had introduced me to his JW family and I started studying the Bible with one of his sisters. I now know that he was a POMI (physically out but mentally in) and marrying a non-JW was not going to be accepted by his family.
Even when I became a JW I was discouraged from dating ones who are viewed as "spiritually weak". Many JWs look for their potential marriage partners through the lenses of spiritual strength and "goals" in the organisation first and foremost. The more lofty the goal or title, the more eligible the potential mates, e.g., special pioneer, Gilead / missionary service, Bethel service. A convention talk was given once by a Governing Body member encouraging sisters to look for potential mates who are at least a ministerial servant. The prize for most sisters are brothers who are elders or Bethelites as some others are rarities such as Special Pioneers. True story: It happened to me. I moved to a new congregation about 2 years after I was baptised. I was discouraged from "associating" with a super nice brother who liked me very much and who I also liked. I was strongly encouraged to stay away from him because he was not spiritual. The lack of "spirituality" turned out to be that he was not "scripturally divorced" and was a "fringe" Witness. The elder who spoke to me told me I needed to work on building my faith and wait on Jehovah to bring me a worthy marriage mate! With this in mind I distanced myself from the brother and never did get married nor considered myself spiritually strong enough to allow myself to date anyone for the 27 years that I stayed in the organisation lest I be found out the be the shallow JW I was who rarely auxiliary pioneered or occasionally served where the need is great just for show . Because of this told myself that I was not JW wife material and became an AAA (available after Armageddon) when I would become perfect and find the perfect mate (what a load of crock!). What I admired as "strength" such as absolute faith in the Governing Body which I struggled to cultivate I now realise was due to the fact the majority of JWs that I associated with were born into the religion and their families were in it for generations and knew nothing else.

The only reason the WT has “new light” is to keep the rank and file excited about the organization and reinforce their beliefs, as well as convince them that the governing body is still receiving direction from god himself. The WT has to occasionally change out the carrot at the end of the stick every so often or else the same carrot becomes old, shriveled and unappetizing, and not worth the effort to chase after.
Their beliefs are no different than a boat with no sail or engine. No real direction or reason.
Thats a good point, my thought is right in line with yours, along with the direction from God, I think it serves to spark the thought of "what if", what if I am found to be a goat. Was enrolled in the Theocratic Ministry School and came dangerously close to starting door to door witnessing when I finally woke up and left. So, if "new light" is needed to correct the "new light" you had yesterday, which at the time you claimed came from God, then, are you saying God gave you 'bad' light? Why would God do that? And if the Bible doesn't change, why do you have to keep updating the "truth"? When something is true, it is true and that's the end of it. The reasonable conclusion, therefore, is that Jehovah's Witnesses neither received any light from God nor have the Truth.

Sorry Lloyd Evans but YOU FORGOT the most important thing! The new "light" from Jehovah of 2019 says that the locusts are the Babylonian armies and NOT Jehovah's Witnesses. The problem with this interpretation is that it was already given in Matthew Poole's famous Biblical Commentary on Joel in 1685 and in Matthew Henry's 1706, both of which are available online! So the scholars of "Satan's world" already knew 400 years ago what they only discovered in 2019. Isn't that strange?
I know the answer to this. When I had similar questions/observations I was told that Satan leaves bits of truth scattered in his lies. That is the proverbial bait in the trap.

Jeffrey Jackson talks about how you wouldn’t shoot a dog in the middle of the night for barking as a potential warning for danger. My father, an elder and “upstanding” member of the congregation shot our family dog in the middle of the night once because it wouldn’t stop barking. JWs say 'The light is getting brighter'
Well, think about this for a moment....
Imagine you went into a room and it was pitch black with no light in there.
There are chairs and a table, a chest of drawers, a coloured carpet, a lamp and a vase of flowers.
You know these things are in the room, but you can't see them.
Now, turn on a small light. You start to see the outline of the things there
As the light gets brighter, you start to see the details clearer.
But, as the light gets brighter, the items don't change. They just get clearer.
So, how does that work when the JWs say the light getting brighter CHANGES the original idea?
Brighter light simply shows what's there in a clearer way...not CHANGING the things that are there.
The whole idea of 'Brighter light' does not agree with the concept of ideas changing....it would just
make ideas clearer. When JWs flip-flop their beliefs under the illusion of 'brighter light',
it cannot be used, even as a metaphor.

Now that I think about it, not reading the bible in context, whether that is the surounding scriptures, the individual book, or the history of that book it's culture supposed writers, is the reason this religion is so messed up or even exists to begin with.
When I remember that there founder's, CT Russell, way of coming to the "truth" was to look up every scripture on a topic compare them and decide what they thought it ment.
This video made me realize that is there whole problem. It was when I decided to actually read the bible in order and context and cross reference it with itself not WT literature that my doubts really solidified.

When you think about it, it seems the governing body prefers blaming God by saying it’s him that give (or didn’t give) knowledge in time, rather than admit they made a mistake themselves. They transfer all the responsibility on God. Not only it’s a lack of humility but it’s also an indication that they don’t actually care about knowledge if they just don’t believe it’s worth pursuing, and that it's something that will just be “bestowed” upon them miraculously and without any efforts.

I had no idea what you or they were talking about in regards to The Locusts. I was born into the religion, and was a fervent POMI until I was 30, yet I still never had a firm grasp on the prophecies. It's not as if I never tried to get to know the "The Truth", but nothing besides the colourful story telling and the sense of community and brotherhood really reached me; in fact, a sense of purpose was the only real reason I got baptised. Although I did (and still do) consider myself to have a close bond w/ "Jehovah"). The rest sounded like a big, thirty year yawn of the same thing over and over again, with no real answers in sight.
It wasn't until I took a job as a flight attendant that I finally saw the world for what it really was... which was actually exactly like I expected, not that scary. Life is tough but colourful. It is what you make it. You quickly find out that religion is not the answer to Existentialism, in fact, it's nothing but a hinderance to free thought; and therefore, truth.
It didn't take much for my house of cards to crumble, and some JWs would argue that it's because I was never firmly planted in "The Truth", or didn't actually put the work in to develop a relationship with God. That's what hurts so much... that even though I got baptised rather young, in line with what I was advised to do by those I was supposed to trust, I was shunned and essentially typecast for the rest of my life because I chose to be honest with myself and stand up for what I believe in; which wasn't in line with them. If I only I had known then & there what I know now, I wouldn't have gone ahead to try and appease myself with the religion by spending years trying to get reinstated. Once I did, though, nothing changed. I had moved to the other side of the world already, but no one had ever checked on me; even out of pity. Nobody has ever come to visit me, or has ever reached out to me.
I'm into my 30's now, and all I can really say is that I'm happy to have made it this far, and I've seen some amazing things, but I was robbed of developing a real life in my twenties because I was essentially made to believe I was "crazy." Even as a child, I never actually believed in any of it, I just went along with it because the fear of Armageddon was so deeply instilled in me that when battling it out in my mind, Armageddon always won; to the point it gave me nightmares. I can remember two distinct nightmares, to this day. They both involved me sitting up in bed in the middle of the night, looking out the window, and seeing enormous, bright white asteroids reminiscent of jellyfish (or something alien) barreling towards Earth on a starry night. It was desperate and horrifying, the feeling of imminent death... and that's what you grow up with.
Regardless of all the decisions I've made based on that fear mongering, I'm still considered a black sheep. My family are still fervent, and I'm still full of scars, but I can't reveal anything because I'll have nothing left. All I ever tried to do was get back to where I was from, but they had already forgotten me. No one ever checked on me.
The History of the JWs shifted each time a new Director was installed. It's odd that people would stay after the shifting of theology on an almost annual basis or when they got caught in error and than changed policy. It is obvious the Watchtower were constantly covering their hind quarters by each new directive

I am a slack JW ( of 30+ yrs)and still am, and for many years, i for similar reasons Lloyd gives, I concluded years ago, that the GB really had NO idea about the bible prophecy.

Absolutely true. I keep thinking about the recent update on the 'locusts' and the 'we read it in context' rationale for the update. Or, more tellingly, the 'overlapping generation' teaching which has to be the most absurd bit of theology ever presented. And it exists for the sole reason that the timeline from 1914 has, itself, reached a use-by date from which they can no longer tenably hold to it as 'truth.'
But, keep believing and hoping 'even if it makes no senser from a human standpoint.'
Having had a similar departure and awakening as Lloyd but in the late 80’s, and having been a zealous member for 25 years before that, I am impress by the revealing research and perfectly documented expose on this debunking subject. What it’s most hurtful to my heart is how this new readjustments about the judgment of the sheep and the goats reinforce their grip on the rational to judge and reject people now to keep the ranks disciplined and in morbid fear of being condemned if rejecting one of the arguable beliefs that any humane individual would have doubts about. Radical dividing ostracism, birthdays, blood practices, and many many more. Control, Control, Control. Despite all contradictions and failed predictions, inhumane mind control is sacred. Very tragic.

Of added interest John 16:13 says that the spirit will guide Christians into ALL the truth. Receiving half truths or outright lies for decades or centuries is not what the Bible teaches.
I knew a regular pioneer who would visit a brothel in the afternoon then be at the meeting that very same evening 'counselling' his fellow JW's on whatever was the flavor of the month lol He eventually went on to be a missionary somewhere.

Greetings dear sir! I am currently in a conversation with a JW. I have never studied the Bible in depth, and I feel like this JW is cherry-picking our journey through the books. I consider myself a christian in a Jordan Peterson kind of way, like Jungian psycology and through clinical psychology and of course stoic philosophy. We have deep conversations once a week, and I have him kind of interested in a very pragamtic interpretation of the Bible. He really likes to hear me read from my source material and my 4 different Bibles (probably because his organization prohibits him from reading other materials).We have covered several core problems of the faith, but I would like to know what topics I should study and bring up in our next conversation, to make him think outside the JW bubble. Any sugestion will be much appreciated.

The people who run the organization are aware that they can control mental unstable people with the content they place, and that is a big responsibility and there is no justification if the manipulation is harmful.
And in my opinion, there is no manipulation that is not harmful, every kind of manipulation does not lead to spirituality or mental / emotional maturity. For such damage, liability will have to be borne.
The more the GB talk, the more they are backing themselves into a corner. All of this flip flopping now, in the age of the internet, is clearly taking its toll.

New light also made me finally open my eyes and stop feeling guilty about walking away from the cult. It makes no sense. It's not increasing, but rather intermittent. Stuff like the blood question, they keep moving the goalpost. Now it's okay to take fractions, then it wasn't, tomorrow it's a personal decision. I'm a 3rd gen. Witness I've been out since I was 18 I'm 24 but I've always had a tie to my heart for the truth. But I've questioned more and more and realizing not everything was true. But I always thought it was the closest one that something was different about jehovah's witnesses. But one thing I never looked at was where the money goes I always thought for sure it was donations. But one day i finally got the courage to research it i read articles but came across your video and learned about the big tobacco stocks and the suing the government for money and the pedophilia. But another thing I found when I found your videos was the ex jw community and it's not horrible and evil like I was taught I thought I was alone or just by myself when it came to other witnesses questioning.
You are a 3rd generation JW. So how could you honestly know JWs were closest to the truth? The only knowledge you'd have of other Christian beliefs is filtered through what the JW publications claim about them.
My parents converted to JWs. My father was a Methodist by birth, my mother Baptist. Yet neither of them really had any idea what those denominations teach. They had not studied them in any sort of depth before converting to JW. So they just parrots what the Watchtower claims.
I'll give you a challenge. Don't even worry about exJW "apostates". Go look at what leading Biblical scholars say.
If you want to know what beliefs are held, toss aside the JW tinted glasses and see what they actually say. Find out why they have different beliefs than JWs not filtered through what the Watchtower claims as to why.

A girl i used to be friends with popped up on my instagram and i feel so sad that she is still so in and so believing. I know she will probably never be out because her whole family is the model family everyone looks up at. I just really miss her and keep trying to understand how can they really not see anything wrong with the teachings.

Hypocrisy and double standards seem commonplace. They told me I had to break up with my non Christian fiancé (I didn’t, nor did I ever entertain the thought), but it was perfectly okay for other members to have non JW spouses and even an elder whose wife I never saw at meetings. 🙄
I left 20 years ago & my parents are still going strong. It breaks my heart bc they are not dumb people. I don't understand why they can't see through it. Even as a younger kid, it just didn't add up to me. Plus I HATED knocking on doors & giving talks. 🤣 I always knew it wasn't for me, but I didn't realize how hard it is to actually leave. These folks chased us from address to address, calling, "dropping by"; my sister received a letter with some literature a couple of weeks ago, addressed to a surname she hasn't used in a decade. 😵 The two judicial meetings I was involved in, outta nowhere they asked if "heavy petting" or any sexual acts occurred. It was a tad disturbing to be questioned alone by two elders in a room, trying to guilt me over getting drunk the first time at 17, knowing that a married brother grabbed my 15 yo sister's ass & said gross things to her, but that would go unpunished by them.

I am reminded here of the Watchtower article that started to wake me up. It used the example of a sail boat tacking in the wind, going first one way and then the other to get to the desired location. Reading this made me think why would God reveal things in such a haphazard way.
You should cut us some slack, all this increasing light us quite blinding, sometimes in a daze we fumble.

Lloyd, this particular video of yours reminds me of one that I saw many years ago of Frederick Franz in a courtroom being questioned by (I presume) a prosecutor, who had, by skillful questioning got Franz into a position in which he was reluctantly forced to admit that “new light” teachings obviously meant that the ones that they were replacing were ERROR! I remember how hesitantly Franz said”...well, error”. Don’t know if you’d ever seen that video clip? I found it very gratifying to watch 😆.
When I was a JW, changes in the official GB positions on things, was officially explained away by them , as being compared to a yacht tacking but still overall moving forward !!
I remember studying the proclaimers book and that’s when I first started having doubts it just didn’t make sense followed by further doubts with all this so called new light, old light and continually changing their minds. So glad I’m fully awake, it was along process for me but speed up with the help from Lloyd Evans, thank you very much for all your hard work bringing true light on this organisation

What fascinates me here is that the sheep and goats adjustment is based SOLELY on the analysis of an illustration. As in, the ILLUSTRATION is used as the basis for the change. No scriptural justification is made to support it.
Just that the illustration they just came up with governs how they should interpret the prophecy!
