In dragon's dogma dark arisen. you have a sort of option like that. you start a new game in hard mode and you'll keep everything you've accumulated. all gear, gold, resources everything. You start all over again with a brand new character you create. And once you're in game you can change settings back to normal or easy mode. all up to you! Also, with the same character you can change to any vocation you like. You don't need another character to try out a new way of fighting!
@@looots1320 i can't disagree but I don't fully agree, true there's very little story but there are a few story epic moments and places, the beggining to the encampment, then the Griffin epic fight, (chasing shadows, though it lacks too much in stealthplay to really enjoy that mission, same goes for rescuing ailenore) and then pretty much the greatwall and the tainted mountain EPIC missions True, the game gets kinda boring because there aren't a lot of cutscenes, and the story stalls too much, true it has terrible execution, but the few story moments it has are epic And of course, the characters move too awkwardly in those cutscenes😂
I love how daggers have a different play style depending on the class. The strider is amazing at climbing, assassin has great fast paced ground game, the magic archer uses it like it’s a staff, and the ranger might as well not have daggers.
@@alexradice8163 Cause it''s got magic skills, such as shadow shackle, grand scension, magick rebalancer. All skills that are akin to what the staff can do. Come on man, dragons dogma 101.
Same with how you have 3-4 bow classes (idk if strider bow acts different to assassin bow) and they all shoot differently. Assassin is a fast, mobile shooter, Ranger is slow, long range shooter, and Magick archer is this weird autolock, multi-target shooter. Same with mage and sorcerer. Both ate magic casters, but mage is more about support and buffing, while sorcerer is all about that long cast, high damage, AoE spells.
Ha! Took me some time before I noticed the background song was in Swedish. Few min into the video I was like "wait a minute!" I can understand what they are singing :)
That's cool Noobfist. I wish I knew the language and could understand the lyrics. I know the 2nd song is about a Female Troll, and song 3 is likely about the tree of Life.
Yes, It was when "Herr Mannelig" started I reacted. Heard that song with the troll in love with a knight a few times before First song is called "Bläck" (Ink in english). It's about someone writing a letter to a friend/lover can't really tell which :)
Totally. Though I can appreciate a skill that boosts attack instead of simply pausing the game and POOF you are doing double damage after the periapts. At least their are risks and consequences with Rebalancer. It takes up a skill slot and you have to charge the skill in safety. But yeah, MA is deadly, and adding the buffs makes it Even more deadly. I wouldn't say OP until the Blackwing, or Dragon's Breath is present. Then it is OP as Hell.
Magick Archer and Ranger are definitely the best vocations in this game. MA is great at killing all mobs and all but a few Bitterblack bosses, Ranger is an absolute Boss destroyer. Tenfold Flurry + Blast Arrows is insane and although the Mystic Knight is special to me since you can really play out a whole 'Paladin' type character and I do love the Sorcerer as they have some of the best spells (visually) of any game I've played, MA and Ranger is just too good.
Dont forget strider. 1000 kisses with climbing augs and bonus strider damage. Brainsplitter + eminence. and then fracture dart just destroys all. killed daimon 2.0 in like 1:30 he was staggered the whole time.
WarmongerL0M3N Sorcerer with HFB is also a monster. In fact any of the Sorcerer's Grand level spells targeting an enemies' elemental weakness will destroy them.
You can actually destroy the ur dragon (offline) and daimon in less than 2-3 minutes with sorcerer. All you need is holy focused bolts and demon periapts (stacked 4 times), which is less costly and less weight than blast arrows as well. Of course this is boring, but definitely the most powerful. You don’t need to charge any long ass spells to beat these bosses.
Agreed, Ranger is the only class with which I can kill Daimon (both forms) on hard mode without using any boosts or wakestones. Absolute killer-machine
@Jerry Smith rebalancer is the same thing as periapts. MA just has access to it as a skill, which requires you to prep before boss fight. Periapts just makes the farming process faster, significantly. I’d say the most OP class would have to be strider. The one move Brainsplitter rips through everything. And you can deal with wraiths with heaven’s key. So technically strider has no weakness.
This video was so soothing to watch especially with the background music, I can't wait to use the magic Archer but I'm having to level up in a some other classes for a while since MA doesn't have good stat growth
You don't have to level as Sorcerer. just get the Augment Acuity from Sorcerer, and the augment Attunement from Mage. Then just play and level as Magic Archer. ruclips.net/video/Pj5u3F-FSeA/видео.html
I'm glad that these videos exist to help with builds. Just got the game recently for my birthday and been having a ton of fun with it. And just so happened that this became my favorite class.
I always skip Sunflare, because it seemed not very powerful. But I was carrying pure strength daggers. You made it look very powerful, especially on the Knights.
not only that, but you can use it to triple jump and access places you wouldn't or not supposed to be able to go. you can even go back up the upper part of the entrance of bitterblack isle when you leave daimon's temple by just doing that
I often watch this video without translating into Japanese. But today when I translate,I can further understand Magic Archer and find how amazing your video is!!! Now,I am during University entrance exams period. If i finish it,I woud absolutely bought and played ddda by using your superb idea!! Thank you for reading my poor English.
Thank you for this excellent video. I just switched to MA from Strider today so this is very helpful! Got my sub and the music is outstanding I'm looking in to them as I type. Kudos to you combat skills, outstanding! Got my sub! Best to Youi!😎👍
Despite seeming confusing initially, I like how easy it is to understand how stuff works. For example, with skills like Immolation and Scension, it uses the magick stat of the weapon (probably as well as physical damage), and just knowing that makes it a lot less confusing
Low level challenge run with Magick Archer isn't even a proper 'challenge', it's toolkit is so versatile and powerful in so many aspects it's astonishing - from physical and magical damage, multi elemental attacks, solo and group buffing, debuffing, self sustaining with heals, manipulation of the battlefield and general mobility (vault, dodge, levitate). Daggers and bow can be tuned to compliment each other well, and the staff (rusted; torpor + poison, oiled; tarred + blindness, golden; silence) is highly effective for debuffing via Focused Bolts or Perdition (+curse). The vocation sports a lot of strengths and scarce weaknesses, but a stamina guzzler like you mentioned it is for sure. Climbing wise, it feels subpar to strider although Immolation + buffs/debuffs compensate (mixed results per situation) for this. You summarised this and much more, basically you did a wonderful job on this video Nihil! Also enjoyed the music ;)
One of these days I'd like to be able to speak with out about this games more in depth mechanics. There's a lot I don't know about this game despite putting quite a lot of time into it.
My build for MA 1-10 Mage 11-17 Sorcerer 17-100 Ranger 101-200 Sorcerer STATS HP-3413/ST-4165 Atk-404/Mgk-720 Def-250/MDef-438 MinMax is not necessary, but I put this here for those who’s looking for a good build that gives a nice amount of stamina for Magic Archer that’s nearly identical to the 10-Mage/11-200 Sorcerer build.. For Augments and skills just use what Nihil0.0 recommends :)
I will always fully 100% believe that Magick archer is the most dangerous. There hasnt been a situation that I wasnt able to do as a magic archer. Fighting Daimon 1 on 1 is the best fight of the entire game.
The one thing i hate the most about the MA is the explosive rivet. Why can't it explode on impact? Its just more of a pain to use physical attacks to explode them.
MA Build #1: Mage: 1-10 // Assassin: 10-100 // Sorc: 100-200 HP: 3588 // ST: 4150 // Attack: 618 // Magick: 596 // Defense: 267 // Magick Defense: 297 This one brings more STR and Health for more close combat and climbing action, It doesn't matter if the magic Stats are a bit lower than STR because the enchanted weapons for MA, specially the bow, would buff the magic damage by a ton. That's why Gear > Stats. The next one is Build #2: Mage: 1-10 // Ranger: 10-100 // Sorc: 100-200 HP: 3498 // ST: 4420 // Attack: 438 // Magick: 686 // Defense: 267 // Magick Defense: 387 The second build is more balanced for MA imo, it loses some Health and almost 200 STR, but in return it gives more STA, MagDef and Magic damage Which one do you like more and why? You can't go wrong in either case, even if you mix them a bit like: Assassin: 10-60 and Ranger: 60-100 OR Assassin 10-50 and Ranger: 50-100. At the end the difference it's minimal I guess.
You are correct, you can't go wrong. My favorite Magic Archer build is Strider to 10 and Magic Archer to 200. Get the augments and gear and play the vocation. That's my favorite build for each vocation, 95% the vocation intended.
Hey Phazon. That is a broad question. There are many tips to be said. I have many different libraries, for each vocation, and there is an "Information" playlist along with Enemy attack patterns. Take a look around, and if you have any specific things you are looking for, leave a comment in any of my videos and I will share what I know. Thanks for checkin' out this video, and I hope you get some time to view some others. One big tip is Know your elements. Enemies have weaknesses to many of the 5 elements, and Magic Archer can have access to all 5 at once, making the vocation very capable of anything. This video below shows who is weak to what. ruclips.net/video/7aBRDRqbax4/видео.html&t
ouchh ive found it again !! , you know what? this video has a frightening story on me. When the last time i watched this, i was dropping kidney stones :OO , ive remembered this from ur intro.
Hey Nihil, just wanted to say that this video really helped me get into Magick Archer and the aspect of magic in DD as well! For a long time I never even considered using such because it never appeals to me in other fantasy games. Your guides always take the cake and I appreciate the effort you go through to make these detail vids.
Thanks CrossSock, I appreciate your words. Magic is pretty different with Dogma. I also tend to not like magic in games. Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, or any of them, but Dogma has a nice system that becomes more like chess
I'm starting my first playthrough and will be streaming it, and these videos have been extremely helpful for understanding the game more. It'll not only make it less of a headache (thank god I don't have to do like 100~200 levels of sorc for MA) and will make it more enjoyable to watch. So thanks yet again. ( : Also, beautiful choice of music. I'm especially loving the first and second songs.
I lke to do mage 1-10, ranger 10-72, sorcerer 72-200 for whenever i go with a MA ... hitting 4k stam is usually my main priority with my characters (even with the support mage).. the only character i dont run 4k stam with is my tank pawn with only 3k stam, but since she can perfect block alot of attacks she only really uses the stam to aggro and twirl.. most people say u dont have to min max (which u don't) but after u beat the game so many times its actually kind of refreshing.. good videos btw
Thanks Jack. I like your name, gave me a good laugh. Stamina is also a priority for me usually. True tanks don't need stamina typically, just high defense and high health, their skills are low stamina cost anyways, aside from Dragon's maw. Thanks for checkin' it out
Great Vid! this is my favorite class to play. made a glass cannon version of MA, Sorc to 200 then swapped to MA, trophy hunters set, Diadem for magic boost, Acuity, Attunement. low stamina but with 9 fold bolt and 3k+ magic you don't need a lot of shots. It just shreds. For Augments I usually go with Attunement, Acuity, Conservation, Articulacy, Predation, Opportunism. I've been wondering if Emphasis is worth using. For skill set I usually go with 9 fold bolt, Ricochet Hunter, Explosive Volley. 1000 Kisses, Shadow Snare, Magic Rebalancer.
That setup sounds just like how I roll with Magic Archer. Emphasis is a minor increase. You can usually get high knockdown with the spells anyways, I usually don't equip Emphasis, but you will notice it working on 6fold and Explosive Rivet. I would say there are others that would take priority. If you don't have wind resistant boots, the Stability is awesome for Dragons.
Preemption augment is best for MA especially at BB. Enemies drop dead before they can even notice you, rebalanced/Demon's Periapt(4x) + Ricochet Hunter, Even Death can't stand a chance in just a single encounter well sometimes.
Hey, Nihil! Loving these vids! They are calming and extremely informative! Love this game and everything in it! :D quick question: are you from sweden or norway? Just wondered by the choice of music! Extremely fitting nontheless! Best wishes from Norway!
I love how many classes and playstyles this game offers. But i wish it were possible to change your skills in the fly, without going to a Trainer/skill vendor. Would make the game even more fun and increase combat variety
Probably my favorite class. Strider and Assassin are high as well. But something about magic missisles of doom, with thousand kisses, sunflare, and the skill the heals and deals damage. So much fun.
Again yt turns off my notification bell without warning lol, didn't know you had more videos till now. Really helpful guide, idk if I'll use a staff on magic archer though
Yeah youtube does that to me too. It's so busy monitoring it's agenda that some things get missed. Yeah a staff MA is not my idea of optimal either. I guess you may have some catch up with videos, this was quite awhile ago. I did a schematics for each vocation. I can understand that you can't watch all, but at least check out these 2 - ruclips.net/video/d-SnLlFARbw/видео.html ruclips.net/video/2k89F2-D5nc/видео.html
Sorry for the late response. And yeah, ranger is not a bad way to level for a MA. But don't overthink it either. Don't worry about stats too much. Nihil once said its the weapons that give us our damage. Stats are only like 10% of the damage. And you can always go for straight 10-200 MA. The class gets what it needs anyways. I mostly leveled my MA build between fighter, ranger and Sorcerer. Just to give me a balance for enemies that are strong against magick attacks (Goblin shaman), and strong against physical attacks. (Eliminator)
Finally got the time to watch this awesome video and boy was I glad! Great job (and great music). I believe that the damage with ricochet hunter increases with each bounce, IIRC. Biggest problem with MA is picking only 3 skills from reach category. There are too many goodies to choose from. I think last I ran, I was using 6-fold bolt, magical gleam, and ricochet hunter, with rings buffing the first two. Don't even need a lantern to keep dry. ;-)
Thanks Malataur. The Vocation schematics are my favored videos, I spent a lot of time and devotion to them. I appreciate your praise. I also find it difficult to narrow MA skills to 3, not so much for the bow though. I do really like Magical Gleam for undead and for a Light source, but I typically go for 6fold, Rivet and Ricochet. The Dagger skills... oh man, that's tough, I like them all, but I usually end up with rebalancer, Sunflare and reset.
I'll be playing this game for the first time when the Switch version comes out and I've been dead-set on making my character a mage/sorcerer because I love dealing elemental damage at a distance and avoid close combat as much as possible but I'm questioning myself now if I shouldn't go with magick archer instead. Firing elemental arrows looks so much fun and quicker than casting spells.
If you want quick access to elemental, Magic Archer will probably be your better. You can have 3 elements on the bow, and 2 or 3 on Daggers. You still have the staff, which has each of the 3 major elements (fire, ice, lightning) too. I always say choose fire over holy, because if it's weak to holy, it is also weak to fire. But not the other way around. In other words, fire, lightning and ice are all you really need for elements.
back to playing dogma for the first time in like 2 years and yet again find myself coming to your videos for all the best information. MA is the only class i never dabbled in once. also i completely forgot that your videos are how i got into the nordic folk genre. holy fuck. hope all is well brother!
The materials to upgrade the lower tier gear are much easier to get. Also I don't like high damage weapons. I want my attack value to be less than 2,000 typically.
Hey Fadillah. That's a tough one. Frigor can be used, but it isn't pleasant. You may need to use one on top of the other. Great Sacrifice may work, I am not sure. Sacrifice works on the regular Golem.
I know is pretty much too late already since you got through all the vocations, but... This mod has an option to show dmg numbers, pretty helpful, although the usage is a bit obscure since you can't activate it from the overlay ui, you have to press P, if you ever check it out. It also adds much needed "cheats", like unlocking how high/low you can turn the camera up and down, and disabling the "cautious" walk when you're not in safe areas.
Can a strength build still be an effective magick archer? I like strength based classes more but it would be a lot of fun to curse something, light myself on fire and then jump on its face and spam the dagger kisses every once in a while.
I've done it. MA favors more in the magic stat, but many of the skills are utility skills, in that they trap, or debuff and enemy, and then you can attack with the physical attacks, though they are limited in choices.
@@Nihil0.0 You reply like lightning! Thanks for all the help:) You're probably the best source of knowledge for this game on the internet. I have a couple of friends getting into the game and I keep sending them your videos since you explain everything much better than I can.
I only wish you made clear attributions to the fierce Gaelic (Germanic?) music and performers you use in so many of your vids, Nihil0.0. Maybe it's on me for not noticing the attribs.
I'm having issues deciding on what class to be. Mainly because Magic Archer and Assassin look so fun. currently i'm working on getting all my Strider abilities before moving onto Assassin, but can I switch between classes sometimes if I want without suffering? I assume you'd benefit mostly from leveling the mage class if you want to primarily use Magic Archer. I also really like Ranger...I'm so conflicted on what to choose, if I have to. It all just looks so fun.
No worries about switching. The stats you gain will all balance out. The gear and weapons are what really provide us with our numbers. Even less of a worry if you switch between the yellow classes, like Assassin, Strider Ranger and Magic Archer. Those stats are focused in similar numbers. Yeah, play them all a bit, until you find that you really enjoy one over the rest. In the end at level cap (lv200) you can still switch to anything, and do just fine. Use Boosting Augments from other vocations, and keep your gear updated and upgraded
Thanks for replying, I'm happy to hear that I can end up playing whatever I want. So far I'm really loving this game, I'm surprised I didn't hear about it sooner. I feel like it's underappreciated and should be way more popular!
Thanks Jayson. This was Crimson Robes, Carrion greeves, and Carrion boots. Noble Corset and Delta guard. Toped off with Scarlet cape. Was going for a Red theme.
I'm min/maxing a pure 10-200 assassin right now (my first lv 200 build), and I'm thinking of doing a 10-200 sorc for a glass MA next. The vocation is just so entertaining to play.
Yep, both are….. All are. I like leveling 100% vocation. More dedication to that vocation intended. Or you can at least level 100% but you can only level 95% Magic Archer, but still the majority.
I wasn't sure if ma attack would suffer noticeably at max when leveling as ma only. I've seen a few people kill death in a few ricochets with a 10-200 sorc MA, is it still comparably strong after leveling 10-200 MA?
Oh yeah, MA is still as strong. You are only getting an extra 400 magic attack with the Sorcerer route, but 1/4 less stamina, which MA needs a lot of stamina. I did a 100% run as each vocation, and MA was the quickest go through the BBI. Here is episode 1 - ruclips.net/video/HVtZb3OCoow/видео.html And this was without Acuity and Attunement and Articulacy. If you get those augments from Sorcerer, you would be even stronger. Below is another video with Magic Archer at lv30 (so no stats really) ruclips.net/video/-lTqu_quh-E/видео.html&t
Awesome! Checked those videos out while at work and it got me pumped to play MA. I just hit max on my assassin, so I'm probably going to use him to compete a speedrun (for the achievement), then make a MA on hard mode.
Problem i have with DD is that limited (3) slots for skill per weapon. I need more slot for my magic bow. I am happily trade some of my dagger slots for my bow.
It would be nice if we could truly arrange our 6 skill slots, like if we wanted 6 bow skills and no dagger skills. Dragon's Dogma Online has changed it to have a current 4 skills, and a back up of 4 skills that you can switch. But, also a Magic Archer (Elemental Archer) only has a bow, and Seeker only has daggers. They got rid of multi weapon vocations. Personally I think I am fine with how slots are, or maybe it's just that I am used to it.
For people who are looking for fast-paced, seamless combat with versatile combos and awesome chains-- This Vocation is not for you. MAs "imo" are glorified Sorcs (w/ devastating damage in BBI) with less cast times disguised as archers. Felt immediate regret after leveling my Sorc through lv90-180 to realize the unsatisfactory aiming system and archery feel (which is totally my fault for not checking beforehand) Good day.
I'd been anxiously awaiting this vid. MA is one of my favorite vocations and you showed off how perfect it is for BBI. Cursing enemies, holding them in place with shadowshackle or vortex sigil then attacking with an element the enemies is weak to is the core of MA gameplay. I hate that you can't switch skills on the fly without a mod but MA is usually good enough to handle anything that comes it's way. Nice job. Looking forward to MK. BTW, other than using fold + blast arrows which vocation takes Death down easiest?
Hey Derek, Magic Archer is very capable of handling anything. Access to Elemental damage is a huge advantage. True about the skills, I love more than 3 dagger skills and more than 3 bow skills. I can't say that about every vocation. i usually have exactly 3 skills that I love for the other vocations. Ummm, Strider's Fracture Dart is bad ass. Ranger grat Gamble with Preemption attack is pretty good. Magic Archer with Ricochet during Preemption attack, Magic Archer with Immolation and Thousand Kisses. I haven't really tried much with Mystic Knight on Death, but many claim it to be pretty good as well, with Abyssal Anguish and Full Moon. That sounds like a good video for the future. "1000 ways to Kill Death"
A Death video would be amazing. There aren't a lot of those out either. There are a handful showing bows using fold + blast arrows but very few showing vocations that cannot use that setup. Yours would be unique by virtue of that alone.
I just started my 3rd playthrough from scratch, this time I want to be a Magick Archer, the only problem is I don't like the stat growth for MA from 10 to 100. But on the other hand I already played another strider/assassin character and another mage character, so I'm a little bit bored with those vocations and am eager to jump into the MA stuff which I've never tried before. What would you recommend? Slog through 10 to 100 as strider for the stats, even though it won't be as fun for me? Or just bite the bullet and go MA right away?
Go full throttle with MA. Here's an example - ruclips.net/video/gMQdmzc65dU/видео.html And here - ruclips.net/video/WApdUGmN8rc/видео.html And here - ruclips.net/video/Pj5u3F-FSeA/видео.html
I'm still new to the game and new to Magick Archer - What is the benefit of having the Morbidity augment? From what I can see on the wiki it doesn't work with fire weapons.
How does that bow which is from the begging of the game do so much damage? I'd like to know because I find it the most aesthetically pleasing ! Great vid... Cheers from Brazil
It is the best looking bow. I have it upgraded to gold rarified, through Barroch. I also have Acuity augment and Autonomy augment. Most of my videos are low tier weapons, but with gold rarified. Thery're easier to upgrade than higher tier weapons and they typically look better.
Bit of an update; So I'm like lvl 49 now. Ive ranked 9 into magick archer. Daggers: Immolation Instant Reset Hundred Kisses Magick Bow: Sixfold bolt Ward Arrow Ricochet Hunter. What's your opinion?
Just my opinion, but Magic Archer does best with magic and does best with spellbow. If you want to climb monsters, be Strider. I always go the same setup with MA, as Magic rebalancer Sunflare Shadowsnare Sixfold Explosive rivet Ricochet seeker Shadowsnare is great crowd control, while you keep distant with the bow. Sunflare is great for quick knockdown, when larger enemies are staggered. The only 3 Elements that I ever consider are Ice, Fire and Lightning. Those 3 cover any enemy weakness situation. Ward is great. I love Ward arrow, but for me the only debilitations that I am threatened by are Blind, Silence and Petrify. Keeping distance also keeps these debilitations from being a problem. But, just my opinion. I am me and you are you. Different styles. Different priorities.
@@Nihil0.0 Nah man I love it. It looks better than what I have. I felt powerful with Immolation though. Took out 4 Ogres and a Wight. Also, would Assassin Augments work well with MA?
Autonomy, if solo, but the rest not really. Most of Assassin's augments are not very good. We already have preemption, the augment does nothing. Watchfulness is very limited. Toxicity is for poison only, and poison does such little damage overall. And the rest are 100 to stamina or health only at night, so very limited while there are other augments that are constant. Poor Assassin got terrible augments, aside from Autonomy
since you wield blade an magic an archer battle mage saber ruler magician are you able to float or pull a tile from the groun jump an move in an direction you need to their for telporting
Hey Nihil, I'm super looking forward to play this game once it comes out for Switch. I want to play as an MA, can you offer any tips that'll help me start out? All I can find are maxed out level 1-200 builds and the like.
The youtuber "wh1sper 123" has "Nonsense" series that prove min/maxing really doesn't matter, so there's no need to stress out about builds and just play for fun. In fact some skills can be used across multiple vocations, so switching it around a lot is actually useful. Basically, you aren't going to "break" your character.
@@MonadRimsire I know Min/Max doesn't really matter that much towards the end of the game because I watched Nihil's video on it. What I mean is should I start with Ranger so I can get that extra stamina or fighter for that extra health for example. Or does it really not matter that much? I never played this game and its mechanic is deep. I'm just watching a bunch of videos on DD patiently waiting for it lol. In the end I would like to try all classes. Thanks for replying
Jk, I would say (and this is just my preference) start as Strider, and then get some Ranger's stamina. For the most part Magic Archer is at a distance and will get hit less often than others, also you have dodge roll for i-frames. Maybe after Ranger to lv40, switch to other vocations if you want their augments, like Sorcerer for Acuity or Warrior for Clout. After ranking, go full with Magic Archer. When it comes to stats, health and stamina are the only 2 that are tough to supplement with gear. Weapons give us our attack, Armor gives us our defense, but not much can increase health and stamina.
i wonder for your black chains to trap for a combo could you use explosive chain their for traping an damage but for a fire blade divine slashes an blood fountain
So playing as sorcerer upto 200 then switching to magick archer for several runs of bbi. Finally managed to unlock the bbi lvl 3 magick bow. So now I have two fully upgraded vocations in which are my favourite to play. Both weild the best of weaponry and armour in my opinion. Maybe try the mystic Knight with full magic! Most his skills rely on magic anyways. Just need a decent armour to keep me alive 😂😂 fooking hp on full magic is shocking. Still I've not seen a video showing a build take dmg like mine!!! Can't even get turned to stone 😂😂😂
High Strength MA is a beast as well. Get torpor on an Elder Ogre or Dragon. Flame on, and Melt their HP. Magic Archer has great Utility skills that don't require any magic or strength too. You can trap everything you see, and chip away at them while they scream for mercy. So many options, so much fun.
I only played this game on the xbox 360 and never started over. But at level 200 does it matter at all how you leveled up? It seems that the strongest weapons make you overpowered regardless...
So I'm level 200... and didnt put ANY time into a sorcerer... and I wanted to try out MA... will I still be able to do crazy damage to UR dragon/Damion..
This game would really be great if you could save your game and start a new one without wiping out that 1st save game.
@@jamming8519 It keeps all your stats, so if you went full magic and want to try warrior or something....^^;
just copy your save file and rename it, then make a new one. It's not as easy as a character select screen but it's not too cumbersome either.
Or you know. ....make a new account on PS ir watever and just switch to it
Maaaaaan so true, i leveled up to 200 with a 5 year old save and then started all over, now it's taking TOO long to get there
I love that people are still playing this masterpiece of a game. Keeps up well for it's time :')
EnragedFliqpy masterpiece combat 9.5/10, shitty story and execution 2/10. But people play this for combat anyway so yeah
Started out about 4 days ago and already have 30 hours in the game xD. It's SO good
This got just released on the PS4 so I and many people are playing it now. I didn't choose MA so I looked it up how they worked :)
It's like fine wine tbh
@@looots1320 i can't disagree but I don't fully agree, true there's very little story but there are a few story epic moments and places, the beggining to the encampment, then the Griffin epic fight, (chasing shadows, though it lacks too much in stealthplay to really enjoy that mission, same goes for rescuing ailenore) and then pretty much the greatwall and the tainted mountain EPIC missions
True, the game gets kinda boring because there aren't a lot of cutscenes, and the story stalls too much, true it has terrible execution, but the few story moments it has are epic
And of course, the characters move too awkwardly in those cutscenes😂
As a result of this video, I've beaten all dragons and both daimons forms...and I now have Garmarna's first three albums. Thanks Nihil0.0.
I love how daggers have a different play style depending on the class. The strider is amazing at climbing, assassin has great fast paced ground game, the magic archer uses it like it’s a staff, and the ranger might as well not have daggers.
How the does the magic archer use them like a staff lol
Thank you. Now enjoying Dragon Dogma again with Nintendo Switch
Nice. Thanks Amir
Me too but trying to figure out which one to pick sorcerers or magick archer
The variety and versatility of skills that you can mix and match are amazing.
J didnt realize magik archer had access to focused bolts. Man this game does class hybrids so perfectly. Wish more games would take note of this....
Heard that song with the troll in love with a knight a few times before
First song is called "Bläck" (Ink in english). It's about someone writing a letter to a friend/lover can't really tell which :)
Interesting. Thanks Noobfist. She has an awesome vocal style
10:00 I believe this song was in uncut version of gothic 1, in old camp.
Luvins
I never realized how useful a tool grand scension was for health restoration... That's frickin awesome!
MA is just drop dead OP
Adding in rebuffer to a ninefold bolt can down just about anything in a few shots
Really enjoyed the background music, thank you.
Thanks. I spent alot of time on these schematics videos. The Sorcerer schematics has great music too.
It was really irritating, honestly.
You do this gem of a game great justice. Awesome guides!
Thanks Tom, I do try
I always skip Sunflare, because it seemed not very powerful. But I was carrying pure strength daggers. You made it look very powerful, especially on the Knights.
Magic Daggers will do better with Sunflare, and also, the Silver Knights are weak to Fire, so it is very effective on them.
not only that, but you can use it to triple jump and access places you wouldn't or not supposed to be able to go.
you can even go back up the upper part of the entrance of bitterblack isle when you leave daimon's temple by just doing that
I often watch this video without translating into Japanese.
But today when I translate,I can further understand Magic Archer and find how amazing your video is!!!
Now,I am during University entrance exams period. If i finish it,I woud absolutely bought and played ddda by using your superb idea!!
Thank you for reading my poor English.
Your English is good Dean. Good luck with the exams, Dogma will be waiting

Thanks a lot.
Still some of the best DD content out there, I still use your videos for reference
I just found this and it was a huge help in my quest to be a badass MA! Thank you 🎉
One of these days I'd like to be able to speak with out about this games more in depth mechanics. There's a lot I don't know about this game despite putting quite a lot of time into it.
My build for MA
1-10 Mage
11-17 Sorcerer
17-100 Ranger
101-200 Sorcerer
STATS
HP-3413/ST-4165
Atk-404/Mgk-720
Def-250/MDef-438
MinMax is not necessary, but I put this here for those who’s looking for a good build that gives a nice amount of stamina for Magic Archer that’s nearly identical to the 10-Mage/11-200 Sorcerer build.. For Augments and skills just use what Nihil0.0 recommends :)
Magic Archer is my favorite vocation. Thank you so much for this very instructive video.
Thanks Kyokugen. Magic Archer is pretty awesome. My second favorite.
Immolation is the skill used to kill perfect daimon the first time, absolutely insane strength based damage
just bought this in the steam sale - been on my radar for a while and Magic Archer sounds like its taylor made for my preferred range combat style
I will always fully 100% believe that Magick archer is the most dangerous. There hasnt been a situation that I wasnt able to do as a magic archer. Fighting Daimon 1 on 1 is the best fight of the entire game.
The only struggle that MA has is the Metal Golem's floating discs. Everything else MA destroys easily
The one thing i hate the most about the MA is the explosive rivet. Why can't it explode on impact? Its just more of a pain to use physical attacks to explode them.
I can understand what you are saying. i like the Physical attack requirement though. Any excuse for me to get up close and personal I enjoy.
Ulysses the courier
Keeps things interesting
That way they can stack and turn an enemy into very pretty (and bloody) fireworks.
I like firing off a volley of rivets and then get my pawns to set them off. Very satisfying, and the damage can be absurd if you land enough rivets.
Ulysses itll be op as fuck then
MA Build #1: Mage: 1-10 // Assassin: 10-100 // Sorc: 100-200
HP: 3588 // ST: 4150 // Attack: 618 // Magick: 596 // Defense: 267 // Magick Defense: 297
This one brings more STR and Health for more close combat and climbing action, It doesn't matter if the magic Stats are a bit lower than STR because the enchanted weapons for MA, specially the bow, would buff the magic damage by a ton. That's why Gear > Stats.
The next one is Build #2: Mage: 1-10 // Ranger: 10-100 // Sorc: 100-200
HP: 3498 // ST: 4420 // Attack: 438 // Magick: 686 // Defense: 267 // Magick Defense: 387
The second build is more balanced for MA imo, it loses some Health and almost 200 STR, but in return it gives more STA, MagDef and Magic damage
Which one do you like more and why? You can't go wrong in either case, even if you mix them a bit like:
Assassin: 10-60 and Ranger: 60-100 OR Assassin 10-50 and Ranger: 50-100. At the end the difference it's minimal I guess.
You are correct, you can't go wrong. My favorite Magic Archer build is Strider to 10 and Magic Archer to 200. Get the augments and gear and play the vocation. That's my favorite build for each vocation, 95% the vocation intended.
Just got the game today and I'm loving MA, I did mage, archer and MA and sticking...any tips for this game? I wanna hear it from experience players

Nihil0.0 Sweet! Thanks I really appreciate it bro
One of my favorites. Probably my favorite.
It's one of my favorites. Or, I guess it's one of my second favorites.
ouchh ive found it again !! , you know what? this video has a frightening story on me. When the last time i watched this, i was dropping kidney stones :OO , ive remembered this from ur intro.
oooooo. I know how memory pain works, and that would be terrible. I have not experienced a stone yet, but I can imagine not a fun time at all
Hey Nihil, just wanted to say that this video really helped me get into Magick Archer and the aspect of magic in DD as well!
Also, beautiful choice of music. I'm especially loving the first and second songs.
Awesome. Thanks Emmarel. Garmarna has some great music, and it goes well with a female Magic Archer.
Thanks for checkin' it out
Backfire is absolutely my favorite to use when climbing. Double the damage right there. Its perfect for Chimeras. Even though they're weak to ice.
Immolation is a fun one, but I usually stick with Strider for climbing
@@Nihil0.0 The best part is when your on fire and you run past a horde of stout undead in the Catacombs
Great Vid! this is my favorite class to play. made a glass cannon version of MA, Sorc to 200 then swapped to MA, trophy hunters set, Diadem for magic boost, Acuity, Attunement. low stamina but with 9 fold bolt and 3k+ magic you don't need a lot of shots.
Great video and selection of music, I felt like I could watch this for hours and still not be bored!
Nice. Thanks Franklin
I can understand that you can't watch all, but at least check out these 2 -

Staff imo is more for gransys whilst daggers can be pretty useful in bbi and from experience it can save your life
Thank you for your videos man. You've helped me out a lot I'm new to the game so I'm trying to figure out what's the best things to do in game
Sure thing Virgil. Thanks for checkin' them out
So... What is the best way to build a magick archer? I have read that it's good change vocation between Ranger, Sorcerer, etc. to gain more stats
Magic Archer is my go to, currently playing hard mode, level 78.
Magic Archer : how to play Pokemon in DD
"Weak to fire ? go ! Immolate !"
Thank you for this. I desperately wanted this to be a great class. I guess I just didn't understand it!
Dude, your music choices are so good
I love using immolation and opening the fake chests with the graboids. Serious case of heartburn.
@@Nihil0.0
Can you stick to bows only and do well? I'm not interested in daggers at all and if the staff is needed, I might stick to sorcerer anyways.

-Hundred Kisses
-Immolation
-Shadow Shackle
Magick Bow
-Sixfold Bolts
-Ricochet Bolts
-Hunter Bolts

back to playing dogma for the first time in like 2 years and yet again find myself coming to your videos for all the best information. MA is the only class i never dabbled in once.
also i completely forgot that your videos are how i got into the nordic folk genre. holy fuck.
hope all is well brother!
that sound / music is the reason why MA shines ;)
I have a question, why do you dragonforge these (apparently) lower end weapons like criteria, and not go for the higher end daggers to dragonforge?
The materials to upgrade the lower tier gear are much easier to get. Also I don't like high damage weapons. I want my attack value to be less than 2,000 typically.
awesome nihil, do you have any idea to destroy metal golem floating disc with MA?
Hey Fadillah. That's a tough one. Frigor can be used, but it isn't pleasant. You may need to use one on top of the other. Great Sacrifice may work, I am not sure. Sacrifice works on the regular Golem.
You can use immolation/flameshroud, they deal physical damage
I know is pretty much too late already since you got through all the vocations, but... This mod has an option to show dmg numbers, pretty helpful, although the usage is a bit obscure since you can't activate it from the overlay ui, you have to press P, if you ever check it out. It also adds much needed "cheats", like unlocking how high/low you can turn the camera up and down, and disabling the "cautious" walk when you're not in safe areas.
The Hooks mod. I have that, but I tried the damage numbers once and couldn't figure it out.... gave up, and never considered it.
I’m also here for the music.
Why does the vortex sigil of MA effective on the goblins as compared to the MK vortex sigil?
I only wish you made clear attributions to the fierce Gaelic (Germanic?) music and performers you use in so many of your vids, Nihil0.0. Maybe it's on me for not noticing the attribs.
Thank you for the vids. I just started playing the game and these have been extremely helpful.
Awesome Fubblin. I am happy to hear. Thanks for checkin' them out.
Which vocation are you thinking about?
What equipments did you use in the vid? Thanks! Great vid! Ive watched all your Schematics videos.
Here is episode 1 -
ruclips.net/video/HVtZb3OCoow/видео.html
And this was without Acuity and Attunement and Articulacy. If you get those augments from Sorcerer, you would be even stronger.
Below is another video with Magic Archer at lv30 (so no stats really)

Nihil0.0 also, i forgot to say, thank you for doing all of these vid. I really enjoy your work.
Thanks OldSchool. I enjoy making them
How could you not mention using Sunflare to triple jump?
For people who are looking for fast-paced, seamless combat with versatile combos and awesome chains-- This Vocation is not for you. MAs "imo" are glorified Sorcs (w/ devastating damage in BBI) with less cast times disguised as archers.
Felt immediate regret after leveling my Sorc through lv90-180 to realize the unsatisfactory aiming system and archery feel (which is totally my fault for not checking beforehand)
Good day.
Magik Archer brother !! ;}
Greatly done video Nil
Thanks Brother. I'm always happy to see your comments. Mystic Knight is next... Wish me luck ;)
im sure you'll do a Badass schematic on the mighty MK
i also always feel very happy when you visit the Belmont channel brother
In creating mystic archer what first vocation i should take?
Thank you for this! It helped me a lot!
I love this class but never got too far with it
I'd been anxiously awaiting this vid.
Here's an example -

Hey, I'm not expecting you to be able to answer this but what is all the armor that your pawn Nilly using?
so..... should I be using a rusted staff instead of Melting focus?
How does that bow which is from the begging of the game do so much damage? I'd like to know because I find it the most aesthetically pleasing !
Great vid... Cheers from Brazil
It is the best looking bow. I have it upgraded to gold rarified, through Barroch. I also have Acuity augment and Autonomy augment. Most of my videos are low tier weapons, but with gold rarified. Thery're easier to upgrade than higher tier weapons and they typically look better.
@@Nihil0.0 Thanks for the info !!!
Bit of an update; So I'm like lvl 49 now. Ive ranked 9 into magick archer.
Daggers:
Immolation
Instant Reset
Hundred Kisses
Magick Bow:
Sixfold bolt
Ward Arrow
Ricochet Hunter.
What's your opinion?
Just my opinion, but Magic Archer does best with magic and does best with spellbow. If you want to climb monsters, be Strider. I always go the same setup with MA, as
Magic rebalancer
Sunflare
Shadowsnare
Sixfold
Explosive rivet
Ricochet seeker
Shadowsnare is great crowd control, while you keep distant with the bow.
What would you recommend for gear setup
Ok so if magic archer has terrible attack stat gain what class would be recommended to build up some damage stats for it? I’m guessing sorcerer.
Sorcerer will help, but don't worry too much about it, especially passed lv100. Also get the augment Acuity from Sorcerer.
21:43 Conservation affects only staffs. That what wiki says now
since you wield blade an magic an archer battle mage saber ruler magician are you able to float or pull a tile from the groun jump an move in an direction you need to their for telporting
@@Nihil0.0 Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the advice. I really enjoy your videos, very informative.
A great person with a great content 👌
i wonder for your black chains to trap for a combo could you use explosive chain their for traping an damage but for a fire blade divine slashes an blood fountain
This game is such a chef d'oeuvre 😌
Best class in the game for me 😎
Mostly I play as a MA. However I don't build magic at all only strength. The magic I have comes from my weapons only. That works well for me.
And this music too
Richocet in a small corridor is instant kill
Does the augmented skill to speed up casting work for magic archer?
I have a hard time killing those red ghosts in bbi, the ones that possess you, how to dispose them quickly?
I am also waiting for an answer
Did not really click with the class , but man the music is dope \m/
does conservation effect the magick archer bow playstyle?
