Woodland Solo Camp, Swiss Army Folding Candle Lantern, Polish Poncho Hot Tent, Wiltshire Man

- Solo Overnight Camp in my modified Polish poncho (Lavu) shelter.
I used my Woods walker folding titanium stove for warmth a cooking the main meal and for gentle ambiance and illumination I used a Swiss Army Folding Candle Lantern.
This Lantern was a kind gift some time ago but I haven't used it until recently, and when I did I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. It gave a wonderful ambiance and once my eye's had become accustomed to the low light levels it was actually quite bright enough. I would encourage anyone to give a candle lantern a try but I will say this, not all candles are the same, some burn brighter than others so experiment :)
The trail Camera I used in this video is called a "Power Extra 12mp", it is quite old now and there are much better one's available, I should shop around if I were you:)

I like everything Swiss Army, the poncho, the water bottle, the volcano stove, and of course the knife, but I shall have to look out for one of these lanterns now.

Superb. There was lots of things to consider there - but my big takeaway was how useful tortilla wraps were for holding breakfast. I shall be copying that in the spring !

What a lovely, relaxing video
It is fairly easy as you can see to enjoy some time in nature. However, I lived this way for two years, and wet wintery windy weather can be a true challenge, got to be one day ahead, be bedded down before dark, have lots of water and dry kindling, and be prepared to spend lots of time sleeping. When the ice crystal glisten on the inside of your tent, you better have a really warm quilt.
A stove is a real game changer I find Garth, but as you say you have to prepare

I love the Tawny owls. I have a few stealth camp spots that I visit often that I see them fly through the trees, mostly males but I get them coming very close if I play the sounds of the call of females. They always react and call back. Beautiful creatures.
