Today I scout out a new "None permission" woodland with the view to Wild camp here at some future point.
I used a new item of kit, a Boundless voyage camp table and was very impressed by it. A fellow youtuber called "Tank" has made a review video so if your looking for a nice small camp table please check out Tanks video.

Wonderful video Sandy, right up my street....going out for lunch, I find quiet places next to the river or canal near where I live. I use a few Highlander products, they are a Scottish company. Anyway Have a great Christmas and I hope to see you again in the new year.

That table is just the job especially the stainless steel legs , no rust 😊
It's a good table and only around $20. Bargain:)

Litter is an ever present feature of our modern world. Its so depressing to visit what you expect to be a beautiful location only to find litter everywhere. I live in Co Kerry in southwest Ireland in a small coastal community. I am part of an active local group who with the cooperation of our council carry out regular litter picks in the surrounding countryside and we also maintain the village throughout the year. I am proud to say that our community looks so clean and tidy. its great for tourism but its nice for ourselves too. I would encourage community groups everywhere to approach your local council and put an arrangement in place where volunteers will pick litter and the council will remove full bags and pay for their disposal. Nice to see you again and feeling better! If you know where the land owner lives, you should go and simply ask. Tell him to watch some of your videos so he can see how you take care of the woodlands when you camp. Could be enough to where you get permission to wild camp there - worth a try. Nice looking shelter WW, should do well on a camp. Maybe wise to take some leather gloves out with you if you're picking up litter mate, don't want a cut.
Cheers Si, I don't understand the mentality of people who can treat nature like this, they must have gone wrong somewhere, lets hope they will one day see the errors of their ways and adjust accordingly.

Nice little scout camp sandy. Stove looks good but for me personally I just can’t seem to break free of my wonderful trangia 27 it’s so so versatile I can can cook anything with it. Meths. Gas. Multi fuel it does everything really well. And for my overnight / days out the trangia triangle. Yuletide greetings and hope 2024 brings you many more happy and safe adventures. Nowt wrong with Trangia Stove, I am also a fan of them, the only down side is the pots are aluminium. Thanks for the Yule greetings which are reciprocated :)

Nice relaxing one sandy think as get older seat is a must bugger to carry but worth it I got mini fold up one like legs and fabric top bit from decathlon in camo ISH 😂seems sturdy with foam sit mat on its heaven
Hi David, I have a seat like that with legs but they aways sink in the mud and also just a bit too tall for some of the smaller hot tents. The ground chair will be fine for now.

Good to see you are using the Nova, it is a bit like the Land Rover of liquid fuel stoves. I use a a Quietstove burner attachment on mine. Although not cheap, it really reduces the noise level, fuel consumption and gives even more control to the burn rate.
Nice little camp and cook. one of my favorite parts of camping is the outdoor cooking. Got my new crown on a molar today. Teeth are a necessary pain. Keep the tooth if you can Sandy, Have a merry Christmas if I'm away form the computer for a little while.

Thanks Jimmy, feeling a lot better but still have some tooth issue's, I don't like dentists but I'm glad we have got them. The tarp shelter works great and I hope to do some overnights in it soon.

Yes it's a nice stove and multi fuel too, you can burn diesel, petrol and paraffin without having to change any jets

The old Opinels do the job, don’t they? I use one as a kitchen knife in the house. I’ve often wondered whether one of your long handled Wasps(?), with a flat grind of some sort, might make a good ‘camp utility’ knife, but even if you did that I’d stand more chance of getting an Opinel 😂 ! Cheers!
Another lovely video Sandy to sit and relax to with a nice brew. I very much agree with your thoughts on littering. I just put out a video on wild camping rights and responsibilities and that message of 'Leave it better' is one i really want to promote. As a backpacking community we have all embraced 'Leave no trace' , now time to 'Leave it better'. As you said, it will show landowners we care about their environment and hopefully in the long term will give us greater access to woodlands and wild areas. Amazing mind blowing thought that we're in the future and there's a flying camera filming you! Great video as usual! Food looked delicious too! Also good on ye for picking up litter, earlier this year I went to my favourite hammock spot to find it had been completely trashed, a 4 foot deep large hole dug and a bunch of smashed up cupboards and drinks cans and dog dirt, even a smashed bench, right where I usually hang. My heart sank! I couldn't carry it out as it was too much, must have been a huge operation to get it in there. .. Anyway I Have a very happy Xmas Sandy!
Hi Micky, thats just how I felt when I saw these woods desecrated by louts, just so upsetting, it put me of camping there since, but it seems they haven't returned and bit by bit I've carried the trash out. May do a camp there again soon.

But please always get the landowner permission as they might have a problem with deer and the stalker needs to know if anyone else is on the land. Just be careful
It is always best to seek permission I agree but there's not a chance of anyone stalking deer with a centre fire rifle in this woodland, the angles of fire from adjacent private land would mean the shooter is shooting towards public park land. In any case the chances of catching a stray bullet are so extremely rare. A good stalker will always know where his bullet will stop

@@WiltshireMan good point but there’s always someone who watches your videos who wouldn’t know these things there are a lot of townies who want to try what we do but have no understanding of how the countryside works and definitely no understanding of shooting. I just worry that there are a lot of videos encouraging people to get out there but on one explains the dangers. If I was more tech savvy I’d do a safety video.

I am very glad to see that your health has come back to the point of you being able to get back to what you love to do in the outdoors. It just shows that you can still enjoy an outdoors adventure and not have to spend the whole night out in order to do so. It is always a pretty good idea to scout out your camping possibilities before you head out fully loaded with camping gear and supplies. It is not always feasible to do this but a great idea if you do happen to have have the opportunity. The area that you chose looks pretty promising though so it was great to give it a look. Your shelter reminds me of one of my favorite pitches called a Holden. I've always used an 8x10' tarp since I'm alone but I recently bought two 10x10' tarps. One has only 8 tieouts so I also bought a bag of 20 tarp clips. That should be enough to allow any pitch i want to use including the tarp tent, the Gunyah, adirondack etc..😊 My other new tarp has 19 tie outs. I figured since I'm due to marry soon I'd better do something, get a larger tarp. She likes to get frisky in the night woods. 😅
