Electric vehicles are meant to be efficient, but sometimes it's more fun to be fast. That's the concept behind the 2023 Kia EV6 GT, a performance-variant of Kia's next-generation electric vehicle, giving us a zero to 100 kph time in the mid 3 seconds. Coming in at nearly $80,000 CAD, this isn't a cheap EV, and many features are missing from the one we drive last year.
James goes over what makes the EV6 GT different from the AWD Long Range GT-Line model we drove last year, along with some of the exterior tidbits that make this vehicle stand out. He jumps inside where the changes are more drastic, including the microfibre racing seats, neon green stitching and accents, and more.
James then takes the 2023 Kia EV6 GT on a comprehensive, real-world road test to see how this EV compares to the regular variant, along with how it performs against the other EVs we've featured recently.

I have my red GT for 6 weeks now, and yes it's truly a blast, amazing car, and I say this coming from a great car, a Jaguar I-Pace. You can of course have fun and let everyone behind but it's also a great family car, cruising quietly in Eco is also very nice and relaxing, this car is Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde ! I like your enthusiasm on the video, keep up the good work, guy !

This one was hard to let go of! I will be surprised if I drive a faster car this year
My GT came with the type 2 charging cables, the tyre repair spray can, the screw in front tow eye, the electric tyre pump, the Vehicle to load adapter, and the case for the charging cables ALL PLACED underneath the floor of the rear boot (trunk), and obviously if you have a lot of luggage, you can't get to that stuff without taking the luggage out first. FUNNILY ENOUGH, ALL OF THAT STUFF FITS NICELY IN THE FRONT TRUNK WHERE IT IS ALWAYS EASY TO GET. I know that, like Pavlov's dogs, we associate the area under the bonnet as a dirty smelly hot and oily place, BUT of course it is actually entirely pristine, and cool, and easy to get to...
