What a great enthusiastic review. Nice to see you point out some of the “misses” as well as the hits, without labouring on them as if they were a deal breaker, which lots of other reviewers seem to do!
This thing looks great in white and in fact I think it can wear any color and look good. But 200 mile range is unacceptable (of course they say how fast it could possibly charge but good luck finding a charger capable of doing so). And no vent seats for 65k should be classified as criminal offence.
I seen a commercial on television literally 2 days ago. I was so surprised and intrigued. Wanted to see a review on it. Well, you got the bases covered on this vehicle already. Thanks for all you do.
For anyone interested in the ev6 GT its a great time to buy now you can find them around and even below 50,000 for the 2023 right now. and leasing bonus of 7500.
Yeah picked my up for around $50K here in CA a few months ago. This over the $75K 5N after markups I bet. I wanted an opening sunroof so the GT for the win. It opens up on the outside as well which is super dope. 😊
I rented this piece a couple of days ago, I’m so impressed of Kia’s dedication on this, feels just like a Tesla in terms of quality! there’s no waste in this car, super spacious, only turn off was the electric engine in the front I was expecting more storage but it is what it is it still a great car!
I have had a GT for a few months. I haven't gotten used to the acceleration. Under the surface, it's a great driving car, very smooth, and extremely quiet. I average 250 miles per charge with mixed driving and some shenanigans. I traded my 22 Mercedes AMG for it. I do not regret it. Kia's build quality is better IMO.
I own the GTL, its a good in between if you're using it as a daily and looking for HP. You get all the driver and passenger convinces with the extra range, without the extra 200+hp that the GT provides. It's still a peppy car, and it never disappoints when I put my foot down. I've had friends test drive my car, and like Raiti has mentioned, the smile on their faces, is priceless. There are a lot of times between me and my friends while driving my GTL that we would have never said anything great about a KIA!
People complaining about the range--you realize this is a near 600hp vehicle, right? How many people take 600hp vehicles on road trips? You take a 600hp ICE on a road trip you are just throwing money out of the window. If you can afford this vehicle then you can afford a home charging setup. It's fine as a commuter vehicle where you can charge it up every night.
Crazy power, affordable price. Pretty snazzy looking. Just the speed rocket I would've fallen in love with, some years ago. But right now, I'm looking for the flexibility of Basic Hybrid. But 5 years from now, this is going to look awfully sweet.
I'm a huge petrol-head, but something about this car is so appealing. Maybe the performance, design, and size. The accent colors look good too. They may have found the recipe to making an engaging and fun car.
I like it, especially the value packed performance, however, range anxiety is real in that one. Wonder how much of a difference smaller tires would make. Makes me really look forward to seeing more of the Ioniq 5 N. Loved that power induced oversteer you demonstrated. 👊 Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there.
As much as I desperately want other EV options that match or better than a Tesla, I have to give it to them. The only thing this car has going for it, is the speed. That's it.
@Superman Tesla's build quality has gotten incrementally better over time, and with all the recent price reductions, they are also kind of a value now. I don't really like the Model 3/Y's lack of driver focused front instrument display however. The EV6 does this way better. I personally think the EV6 has the most interesting design over the Model Y 🥚 as well.
Beautiful car. But if I get an EV6, I would get the RWD. It won’t be as fast, but it will have 310 miles EPA range and have a decent amount of rear storage.
OMG! Love your review. Love your laughter. I was holding onto my chair during the drive. Slow down...(no). .. I was worried about you getting a ticket. Keep those reviews coming.
I see these on the road here in the DFW metroplex and these things glide like super fast. Kia hit a homerun with this and the EV9 kudos to the design team!
Yes This Kia is a fantastic car, even the low end model, Wind RWD is high performance and luxurious. I'm sure the only reason it doesn't sell like hotcake is that the EV tax credit was limited to cars assembled in the US. but the 2023 Wind even has the tech package with remote assist parking. You won't regret buying this car!
Smaller wheels at the back I see I like the splitter at the front. The red lights at the back is beautiful love the compartment in the engine. Loving the seats. What was the triangle button for loving they did the green on the steering wheel and dash clocks
Not sold on electric. In 5 years will we look back and think, 'they talked me in to buying electric and now'... (fill in the blank). Plus @20:27 a no win situation. One accident= exploding insurance rates, maybe need of healthcare that could ruin any nest egg. Try to live close to your work.
Yeah bro I like the Kia ev6 more it’s more curved while the Ioniq 5 is more boxy. My only zonk is that for the gt performance trim is there’s no ventilated seats and no lime green seatbelts for an extra 5 horsepower.

It's actually not bad of a price if you do a broad research. This is not converted gas or hybrid, this is a dedicated EV car. Hyundai probably spent a fortune for the R&D.
Kia, Hyundai and Genesis are KILLING IT with their designs and now Kia has given us the Ferrari or Lamborghini performance wise of an SUV at the price of a Ford, Dodge oe Chevy! Well done Kia and thanks for the daily 🔥brother Joe!
I do have another question Joe, this isn't related to the video in any way. I was thinking about trading in my 20' Fusion soon and maybe going for the 24' Trax. What trim would you recommend and what's your overall honest opinion of the vehicle? Any extra insight will be greatly appreciated. I was thinking maybe to do a test drive this month, if I can find one near me. Thanks 👍🏻
Great looking car and performance! Plus you get 4 times the efficiency of a gas vehicle (85+ MPGe), and no stopping at gas stations in the heat or cold, and no oil changes.
The "on throttle" discussion at 22:30 had me rolling 🤣 But it's such a good point to make for car guys/girls that are considering a performance electric vehicle, once the on throttle excitement wears off will it really fill the void of an ICE performance car? Probably not for me.
I really like the EV6, and I like your reviews, and your review made me want to get an EV, but I disagree that a person will get bored with the EV6 after a certain amount of time, if that is the case you can say that about all cars or SUV after you buy the new. But keep up the great reviews.
What is the life of the battery? How many miles before you have to charge? How safe is the battery? So many electric cars are getting on fire when they heat up or are in hot states. How much to charge the batteries? How much to replace these batteries?
As someone who has lived in both Atlanta and Tampa (30+ years vs 8 years); I can say without a doubt driving in Tampa is worse. I typically go 10-15 over and still have morons raging against me for not getting out of their way. NOW....regarding the EV6. I believe it is the best EV on the road to date. It not only has the performance but it also has the looks.
Really great review you made some great points. The lost soul part is real. I am seeing my local dealer just sit on these for months. No one is buying them. Kia is banking hard on this car and I am not sure they will do well. I wouldn't want to get a first gen EV of any car manufacturer honestly. The charging infrastructure is also not there yet. I feel like if I got an EV car it's like being a beta tester. I was kind of thinking of getting this next but I ended up with a 2023 stinger GT2 AWD that I absolutely LOVE. Maybe an EV in the future but not for now. I just can't give up the real sound of an engine, exhaust and gears. EV's just feel soulless to me and that probably will not change even with all these fake engine sounds which sound terrible.
They are souless. I drive a 2017 GLA 45 AMG and I had one of these on my tail. Nice looking car. Being an electric, using it on the daily would be a challenge compared to my car. Long charge times and a almost none existent infrastructure where I live. it's a no go.
This is a fantastic ev. But like you said, at that price point, it should have ventilated seats, as well as power seats, power adjustable steering wheel, and 2 driver memory settings.

It's such a strange feeling... I absolutely hated the way it looks, ever since release. But once I read the 580 HP... It suddenly looked attractive to me lol.
That's basically what the other EV6 lines are, same battery with different motors. I think quite a bit of it is the larger wheels though. In the Hyundai Ioniq 6 it gets a little more than 15% more range with the 18" wheels over the optional 20's.
The lack of cooled seats is such a F'ing bummer!! This is the case far too often with expensive cars! Same thing with a BMW M340i. I don't get it! My 2017 Mustang GT Premium with a $38k MSRP has both heated a cooled seats. Everyone has heated seats but so many skip the cooled option. WHHHYYYY!? For me personally I never use the heated seats in my truck or sports cars and don't understand the need for that even in the winter time unless maybe you are 80 years old and really skinny.
Nope. With the EV6 you get full power above 70% and the rest of the time it's 500hp+ and not the 576hp. You have to set it in this extra full power mode tho and let the battery warm up too. It will keep pulling power all the time tho for how every long you want unlike the Mach-E where it slows you after a couple of seconds.
