    It’s crazy how quickly the market has grown over the past 2 years! This is still super competitive but calling it an SUV is a stretch! At best it’s a slightly raised hatchback/ “crossover”

      @@vgstbyes it's funny you never hear any journalists mention these issues. Same with Ioniq 5. He even says they have amazing reliability. Kia and Hyundai clearly pay off these journalists to be nice. I had a Model 3 then got an Ioniq 5 for't wife and Ev6 GT for me. The Tesla is far behind in general quality and warranty. However I had no end of issues with the 12V going dead (ICCU issue?) in the Ioniq leaving us stranded several times. Also the app, interfaces are far better in the Tesla. I'm glad Kia have sorted the wireless car play, this is a small but important change. Tbf, the EV6 and Ioniq 5 are much more comfortable than the model 3, the seat designer is a genius.

      Make sure you install a home charger first, and ideally switch to a cheap overnight tariff for charging. If you are going to do that, add a battery for your home that also charges overnight to use during the more expensive daytime tariff. Solar is the last piece of the puzzle, but as it generates typically 10kw a day, it could take 5 or 6 days to fully charge your car( could top it up though). I have all 3, and I'm very happy with life.😁

    I'm sick to death of meeting the morons that buy these huge vehicles down narrow track roads. I know it's a generalisation but most of the drivers are clueless. They don't or can't do reversing and in the example EV6 in the video does not have a decent back window but probably has a camera that gets covered in shyte that also can't see. The UK is not designed for large vehicles be it SUV's, modern tractors and other vehicles. Back in the 1980s the Ford Granada was considered a large car. Park it next to most modern cars today and it looks small. The UK is not USA we need to bring back smaller cars.

    We have one of these, 12 months old, on a company lease. 300 miles range, dream on, 250 on a hot summer's day, 180 when it's minus 5. We know every AA man in the area , we are not allowed to touch it, so they come a couple of times a week to resuscitate the 12v battery. Great car for short trips, but riddled with issues that Kia can't be bothered to fix.

      Kia/Hyundai have been having 12V issues since the original Ioniq EV and PHEVs. Mine has been boosted 8 times in 3 years by the roadside people. I ended up buying a little 5w solar panel and put it up in the window when parked so it keeps the battery topped up a bit and the voltage high enough to start the vehicle and get the DC-DC conversion going from the traction battery. Another option is just to leave the vehicle running while charging which keeps the 12V battery charging, but remember to unplug near 100 or very quickly because my Ioniq will switch to accessory mode the moment it's done charging and drain the 12V again even though it's plugged in.

      Why would you sell the car after a year? Depreciation is only an issue when the car is sold. The longer you keep it, the less dramatic the depreciation is.
      Also, in some markets Kia is offering a guaranteed future value program to mitigate depreciation.

    • @amperformance7998
      @amperformance7998 Месяц назад

      @@peterscott2662 I don't currently live in a snowy region, but I spent 30 years in northern Minnesota so I know what driving in snow is like. Because of the size and angle of the rear window, all but the lightest dusting of snow would overwhelm a rear wiper. Light snow is easy enough to wipe off or you just let it blow off as you drive. Heavy or icy snow would be too much for the wiper so you'd have to brush or scrape it anyway.
      As for road spray in the winter, we do get heavy rain and have dirty roads where I live and the aero does a really good job of keeping spray off the rear window. In 2 years of ownership, driving in rain, on dirt, behind trucks, I have never needed to clean the rear window. It is more like a sedan than a hatch in that regard and nobody complains that a sedan hasn't got a rear wiper.
      I really like the Ioniq 5, it was my original choice, and there are many good reasons to choose the 5 over the EV6. But choosing it just for the rear wiper is a little silly.
