I like the deep level of tweekability of the GT's UI, compared to my 2021 MY. But I am hooked on the extreme minimalism of the MY and M3 dash board. I don't like having to look through my steering wheel to see gauges. I do like the honesty of the GT when it displays your range when the AC is on or off. Thanks, Gjeebs!!!!
Nice review! I want Kia to do the Hyundai N treatment and not just make it faster but all the other goodies the make the Ioniq 5 so exciting. It is too bad the range is low. This is amazing to see Kia making exciting cars like this. I work for Tesla but I’m not a fan boy. I love all cars that are exciting and also innovative 😊
They tried the EV6 GT line at the Autobahn... A Norwegian test team. It was faster than the Porsche, they said. Guess they have tested a Porsch. The speed was almost 270 km. p. h. 266km per hour or something. It`s here on youtube.
Some one who owns KIA Stinger GT I was also looking for EV. I was looking forward EV6 GT however the asking msrp 65k with 20k markup! Majority KIA was asking markups!? Then at the time Model Y performance price dropped 52k and was no brainer for me!
As a current owner of an EV6 GT who previously had Kia’s previous fastest car being the twin turbo 3.3 litre V6 Stinger GT my only concern is with the name used being a GT. As a Grand Tourer the electric one just isn’t due to the lack of range. On the positive side, both cars had their active suspension settings tuned specifically for Australian roads with a combination of German and Australian suspension experts. The Stinger has 5 driving modes, with one also being customisable. The lack of cooled seats is something I miss more than the electric component as I’m the main driver so once it’s set you don’t need to worry about adjusting it so that’s no big deal. The additional support they provide and comfort to a degree makes up for the lack of adjustment. Yes the rear seating space is bigger, especially considering this car is shorter in overall length. However, my “children” are all over 6 feet tall and do complain about the lack of under thigh support that sitting on a battery creates. I’m 6’3” and could also sit behind my drivers position in the Stinger, which was a consideration when purchased as the rear seat under thigh support was good. The other negative with the EV6 is the sound system. It’s ok, just not as premium as the Harmon Kardon speaker system fitted to the Stinger. However, my wife can’t really tell the difference so call it subjective. Living in Melbourne, with solar power and an 11 kw home charger does make it ideal for around town duties. However as it can take up to over 4 hours of driving to get from one side of the city and back can test its limits on a single charge. Melbourne’s charging infrastructure is OK. However, if you wanted to drive from Melbourne to Sydney (just over 1,000 kilometres) means an ICE will not only get you there quicker, it also works out to be cheaper. The next capital city further north is again a similar distance and this then is only half way from Melbourne to the furthest point in Australia’s east coast. GT? No. Performance car? Absolutely! As my younger brother has the Tesla model 3 performance and the handling differential between the Kia and Tesla is night and day as when you add corners into the equation then the Tesla falls behind by a very long margin. The model Y performance is even worse against the EV6 GT. Nice review.
I like it but still prefer my Tesla. I think the screen is subpar. That is the same software that my wifes Santa Cruz has. Tesla screen is still way way more useful. In relation to gaming, the Tesla screen is an actual open world. The Kia one is like an advertised open world but limits you where you can actually go. Thank you the video.
Hey Ben, I'm about to pull the trigger on a Model3. I plan to use your referral, but was wondering if you also know of a place that does PPF for the front bumper/ hood? I live in Phx. Love the content 👌
The range is way too low, and even lower when you consider accelerating quickly and battery degradation over time. The trunk space is also unfortunately way too much smaller than the model y.
Not everyone wants a Model Y. I have the EV6 GT and I didn’t care about the price difference. I prefer having the instrument cluster in front of me and I love the seats. The regen in the EV6 is more adjustable than in the MY, I am constantly using the paddles to suit the situation, they give me complete control at my fingertips. I also have that with the drive mode buttons on the steering wheel - no need to go to a menu on a screen, just a quick tap and you’re in supersonic mode. The performance is also better than the MYP. The build quality is excellent and I can easily beat the EPA rating of 206 miles - my last 100% charge gave me 276 miles. From what I have seen and heard, Teslas struggle to match the EPA range. Where I live in the SF Bay Area Teslas are everywhere. I enjoy driving something different.
Look and performance...That's why I chose the GT The Model Y Performance is as ugly as all the millions of Model Y I see daily. I work 3 kms away. Again a no brainer for the EV6 GT which attracts many curious every time I drive it.
God it must be boring driving in the US. "Lets find a bendy country road to open her up....great I think there's one one in the next state 5 hours drive away"
BS, I get 230 miles most of the time, depends on driving style, with a home charger it is just fine for 95% of driving, for trips the ultra fast charge makes up the difference..
@@sbtgn75 I'm just saying that's where they perform the best and that's where ICE performs its worst. City drivers are the most likely to benefit from switching.
Meh, EV6 front end looks too much like a toy and looks like it'd look dated real fast. Ioniq 5 on the other hand looks more classy. Dare I say it, but even the Model Y's chubby front end looks better.
One thing every blogger forget to say about EV6 - cheap interior materials. If you have MYLR and then sit into EV6 - you'll notice only seats feels comparable. Middle console (island) made by VERY cheap plastis, dash very cheap, OS looks from 2005, doors with very cheap hard plastic. So you sit in $50k vehicle which is feels like Hyundai Elantra with 3rd party seats. Now if realize this fact you will understand why people not buying EV6. Same thing as with Tesla Model S - people preffer Porsche with little lower specs but better interior and almost same price
I really like how Kia has a mix of screens and buttons, its the perfect in between. Great review as always!
Yeah I love my buttons for commonly used features and using the screen for everything else.
You are a really fantastic reviewer. Great coverage without fluff.
no fluff is the best stuff. unless its a peanut butter fluff sandwich
6:38 Congratulations Gjeebs
I love the looks of the EV6, especially in red.

Numbers keep changing first it’s 3.4 0-60 now it’s 3.2? Which one is it?

KIA is not asking markups, the dealers are.
0 markup in Finland and a 5k discount on msrp.

I did PPF on my M3 with AZ Sunstop in Phoenix. The guy's name is Brandon. He did a good job and price was the lowest I found.
I like your review good job sir👍🏿
8:57 that circle might drive me crazy if i sit at the rear right lol
Interesting car, but I’ll pass on the boy racer looks and 200 mile range for 62k plus car.
As usual, love your honesty 😅
Gr8 review as always.
2:30 Do you ever miss that car?
I must be the only one that thinks it looks very strange. Tesla, please take note about the seats, Alcantara and black head liner.
I know the Tenways sponsor was on a previous video, but the code didn't work for me. Did their sponsorship end?
Thank you for pointing that out. I just emailed them to get code "GJEEBS" working. It should still work
@@Gjeebs thanks!
The rear roof spoiler needs to be black. I saw a modded EV6 with the spoiler in black and it looked so much better.
The range is way too low, and even lower when you consider accelerating quickly and battery degradation over time. The trunk space is also unfortunately way too much smaller than the model y.
Yea but the Y is an ugly appliance car
It’s a pretty station wagon 😊too low for me! I’ll keep my Y performance even if it’s a few tenths slower. Great review 😊
I dont like this car at all, but can surelly tell - its have surpisingly a lot of space. In back seats it feels more roomy than my model Y
Not to forget that extra range with the performance Y? The supercharging network and second-to-none software?
A shave and a wardrobe change for the driving segment. That's big time.
Hard to believe someone would choose this over a Model Y performance considering its range, cargo storage and price?

The feature I really like is the shave feature... does the "facial" and shave feature come standard?
Two thumbs up!
It appears you live in eternal summer as you wear shorts all year long… I’m jealous 😅 another great review!
Taking range optimisation to the max, Gjeebs even gave up his beard.
Love this car! But don’t buy one if you have a bad back. The GT sport seats are brutal! Only reason I didn’t buy it. Otherwise, it’s perfect.
The only defense from any other car dealer about this ev6 is "its Korean made, so the quality is in doubt!". Really?
Wow beneath door handle has a key.
The EV6 GT has a barber built in the console.
God it must be boring driving in the US. "Lets find a bendy country road to open her up....great I think there's one one in the next state 5 hours drive away"
206 miles? Deal breaker. Don’t care how cool it is that few miles makes it unusable.
BS, I get 230 miles most of the time, depends on driving style, with a home charger it is just fine for 95% of driving, for trips the ultra fast charge makes up the difference..
Sports car + sedan
wow
That’s 9”? Someone has been lying to you.
Not sure why would someone will buy it for in city driving , you better get the the y rwd or lr if you really need extra power and enjoy tax refund
City driving is where EVs get the best range. They're opposite of ICE cars.
@@DisloyalOrder3 you don't need range inside the city
@@sbtgn75 I'm just saying that's where they perform the best and that's where ICE performs its worst. City drivers are the most likely to benefit from switching.
Looks so sleek and efficient… except it’s not
Mediocre range for the sake of power will get old for many.
kia is going to need to get w NACS or it'll be left behind.

*The whole feminist movement has taught me to stay away from women and stay single.*
Sport Seats, laughable. Find out why from the engineering point of view.
Body looks very expensive to repair, especially rear deck lid/brake light!
Tesla is done!
The Kia Ev6 should come with power seats and cool as well because of the price of more than $60k+. 👎

Meh
its ugly "Its a kia" it says excessive, I like Tesla minimal
Tesla is an ugly, plain, appliance car
ok review. joke in beginning turned me off, stick to review and facts.
Ugly car though…..Tesla is much more pretty.
Tesla Y looks like an egg driving down the road, the interior looks horribly plain
