    I once told a pilot that the flight was very boring. Her eyes lit up and she smiled and said thank you, glad you had a great flight. I responded with...Indeed.

    So powerful! It was easily off the ground at 5000' and was seemingly at 1000' by the end of the runway.

    What a beautiful video😍😍👍 the sound of those RB211s is brilliant. A monstrously powerful engine for the 757!!!. I would love to see some footage of some take offs and landings in Denver too👍 with some nice footage of the Rocky Mountains👍👍

    So did they do their Down wind over Hayward and turn Base Leg North of the San Mateo Toll Bridge? That's what it looks like to me cause I didn't see the Salt Pans at the bottom of the Bay! Nice video 📸 Love those RB-211's! They growl in a nice way!

    I dare say the landing in this video was an auto land, very smooth with very subtle throttle changes, very nice👍👍

    • @tymark1
      @tymark1 2 года назад

      Most throttle changes should be fairly subtle. In jets like this, approaches are done on power settings. You basically try and set the power and adjust pitch to stay on Glide slope and maintain speed. Obviously there’s movement of the throttles. But it shouldn’t be drastic. Also, no way on a day that clear are the pilots not hand-flying. Pilots still love to fly. Most don’t love using autopilot right after takeoff or for landing. Hand-flying to altitude and hand-flying to land are still the most fun parts of flying.

    @ 5:07 you can see the McChord air strip & @ 5:30, the airstrip @ Ft. Lewis. I was stationed @ Ft. Lewis 85-86, Mt. Rainer on some mornings seemed as if it were in your backyard. These days, Rainer, St. Helens, & Cascades are the only reasons I’d go there staying completely out of Seattle proper.

    Nice flight. I once flew from SFO to YVR, which has almost same nice views to the vulcanic chain. But great sound of the RR engines. Unfortunately here in Europe the 757 is almost gone.

    Interessante video se lo si osserva con attenzione....prima guardando il paesaggio che scorre sempre piu' veloce non ci si accorge dello stacco dal suolo se non quando il paesaggio si ferma per la cabrata per riprendere a scorrere lentamente sempre piu' piccolo quando il volo e' livellato. Poi un banco di nebbia si atterra gli oggetti diventano piu' grandi , I flaps si estendono... con piccoli colpi di manetta I motori mantengono l'energia x.il sostentamento e infine il tocco leggero sulla pista. Siamo a terra!

    I noticed something’s off. Looking at records, it appears UA2336 on August 3 and UA2499 on August 4 both had N41140, and those are the flights in your description. However it’s clear you had different planes. The SFO-SEA plane had Rolls Royce logo on inside of left engine, the SEA-SFO plane did not. Second plane also had a scratch or ding on engine paint which the first didn’t have. I don’t think the flight numbers and date combinations are correct; there is no way that’s the same plane.
