    Robert, you are such a beautiful, honest and heartfelt person. By being so you have totally justified why I saw you the way I did in 1968 (and then beyond). You were real then, amazing to behold and you're real now and you still sing like a naughty angel and talk like a prince. Love you man.

    I really think I am so lucky. All these years right from the start, I got to listen to all the great music of Led Zeppelin. I got to see the band 4 times in my life. I even got to know a friend of Roberts who thankfully allowed me to send Robert an email a few years back. Like many of you; you feel so grateful you just want to say thanks, and I had that opportunity. Oh yeah..saw Robert every time he came to town. Awww The memories.

    This site is only for leaving respect. Led Zepplin was and still is the greatest rock band in the world. Robert is still in good shape and I pray that we have him around for a long time to come. In 1968 I was 10 , I heard Zepplin and knew at that moment that they were going to be extremely special. Hence they are

    Out of every solo release you have honored us with, there has always been a song or two, three or more that live on inside me, like yourself. I have always loved your work whatever path you may have chose. Do not discount your choices through time, each was relevant for its time and state of mind. Sea of Love, Darkness, Darkness, The Greatest Gift, I Believe, Trampled Rose, or Silver Rider and so many more, you continue to be a musical gift!!! xxxooo

    Honestly I really like his 80s voice the best. His first 3 solo albums in my opinion are my favorite. Rock on Plant!!

      +Zach McQuaid Amazingly, Plant's voice is intact.
      And this is not soft rock
      -he is singing at the highest octaves with great power.
      His voice has changed a bit
      -in many ways it's richer than in the 1970s.

    • @blondelebanese9922
      @blondelebanese9922 8 лет назад

      Zach McQuaid Like the rest of us from Robert's generation, we've mellowed and aged like fine wine. I feel in love with Robert Plant's voice upon first hearing it in the late 1960's. My love hasn't wavered through all the passing years. In fact, it has just intensified. Ask any female Robert Plant devotee, I'll bet they tell you the same thing. I'm curious, you mentioned his '80's voice...is that about the time you became a fan? In other words, are you much younger than me (65 y/o)? I've noticed in watching rock music fans, their formative years, when they were first turned on to whichever band they love, sometimes guides their choices of favorites. I'm honestly just curious...from an ancient Hippie chick. ❤️😎✌️

    Very good point. Musically speaking, there are only so many things and ways to go with the 7 note diatonic scale which basically created music. It's what all the great composers used. It's all the basis of what we listen to today- wether it be rock, rap, country- whatever.

  • @Quinkermarine

    Excuse me, nobody stole those riffs, nobody stole those bass lines, nobody stole those unique vocal tones and lyrics, certainly nobody ever played those thumping kick-ass drum beats before!

    • @joeyhuebner10

      Mate... Zep stole. It doesn't take way from their brilliance but everyone and their mother stole back in the late 60s. Zep did create their own sound and nobody will ever be able to fully replicate that.

  • @essanance
    @essanance 12 лет назад +1

    I dont think any of it was shit , your comparing what he did as a Solo Artist to what he did as Part of one of THE BEST most influential bands ever .... He was a singer and he just wanted to continue on with what he loved , When John died it literally destroyed him on the inside and i believe moving on was a way to help with his pain ...They have always kept the Greatness of the mighty Zeppelin by not whoring it out and to that and all he and the rest of the members have done i say Bravo ..

  • @heffernanca
    @heffernanca 12 лет назад +2

    No, Robert, it wasn't horrendous; instead, it was representative of the times, and in a very successful way. Yes, in a sense, the use of syths and other technology dates it, but it dates it in a very wonderful and nostalgic way for us who grew up in the 80's, much like music from the 50's and 60's: you immediately know what time period you are listening to.

  • @briandrum1
    @briandrum1 11 лет назад +2

    The facts are, the only things that are similar is the chord progression and the title of the tune. The actual lyrics themselves are completely different. I'm not saying that Zep shouldn't have given Jake some sort of credit from the beginning, but you can't say that the entire song was lifted. That's simply not true.

  • @Livinghighandwise
    @Livinghighandwise 9 лет назад

    Plant is an interesting dude but I still think what might have been if Zepplin never broke up.. Zepplin was a true harmonic chord in the random energy that rattles this planets atmosphere.

    • @wheelinthesky300
      @wheelinthesky300 9 лет назад +2

      +Livinghighandwise Led Zep broke up when they were supposed to break up.
      Had Bonzo not died, they had at least another couple of albums in them,
      I figure.

    • @leroylang2453
      @leroylang2453 8 лет назад

      Not sure about that. In Through The Out Door wasn't great. They might have rediscovered their form later but then again maybe not. I think these things are meant to be anyway.

    • @wheelinthesky300
      @wheelinthesky300 8 лет назад

      I disagree with one statement:
      I personally think In Through The Out Door was a great album.
      A slight departure in some ways,
      but each song is brilliantly crafted and distinct.
      It is maligned in certain quarters, not sure why.
      As for rediscovering their form, Page and Bonzo were not fans of ITTOD, and planned for their next album to be in the hard rock vein typical of Zep's previous work.
