First time I saw Led Zeppelin live was August 8th, 1969 in San Bernardino, California as a 17 year old kid. My eyes were opened that unforgettable evening to a whole new world. Needless to say my life as I knew then, was changed forever. Absolutely no security/bodyguards in those days, so I went from the front row straight out the back door, following the band. As we stood on the back loading dock, waiting for their limo to pull up, they signed their autograph for me. Yes, I have them matted & framed, along with my ticket stub and the Led Zeppelin 1 LP. To me, it's my most cherished object I own.
Holy crap! That’s so cool omg
Wow that is cool that you had the foresight to do all that. Not knowing at the time, that they would be in my opinion the greatest band of all time.
You. Are. So. Lucky! Never had the chance to see them myself
Some people would pay limitless amounts of money to get an experience with led zeppelin like you had! That’s awesome man!
Someone needs to invent a time machine. I would definitely go back in time and try to have the same experience as you
Led Zeppelin gave us 12 years that made the World sit up and take notice...
All Led Zeppelin tracks are timeless classic's but the number one slot should have been given to Kashmir..
I agree. Robert Plant also agrees
My favorite too.
Idk, Kashmir is awesome instrumentally, but the vocals (NOT BASHING RP'S VOCALS PLZ HE'S A ROCK GOD) the vocal melodies are not as strong in comparison with the instrumental arrangements.
Oye gandu whole lotta love is better
@@marpalafox7842 I disagree. Kashmir has the best vocal lines of Robert, beautiful melodies in it.
Led Zeppelin never recorder a bad song, so this list should be the best 100 Zeppelin songs.
Weapons Education more like too 83
Weapons Education listen to the song hats off and then get back to me
I'm not much in to tribute bands but they are good. Thanks man.
Lost Boy?
hats off, is one of their most underrated songs, it sounds amazing, you want to talk about bad songs look at coda, ozone baby
You can have your Beatles and your rolling stones, to me Led Zeppelin is the best band ever.
Lol why the jealousy bro? All bands are awesome. Yes the Beatles are considered the greatest rock band of all time but that doesn’t take away from all the other groups.
Mahmoud Waheed Facts
i totally agree they are the best band in the world
I know your jealous bro it's okay
Yup. Nobody compares
Greatest band of all time. Greatest drummer of all time, and arguably the greatest and frontman of all time.
greatest guitarist of all time
Unfortunately I was born in the wrong time as a Zep fan, it’s unfortunate because I’ll never see them live. That being said, a colleague of mine told me an amazing story: at one of their concerts, Page opened sitting in a wooden chair, a single light shining on him, as he played “Black Mountain Side”. As he finished the last note, he got up, kicked that chair as hard as he could, and struck the first legendary chord of Kashmir as the rest of the guys joined him. The story is nothing special, but I always loved it and thought all you Zep heads in the comments would too
I wish that was caught on tape, that would be cool to see.
Best Zep quote by JPJ: "Its not just that we were the best band of the time...but that we were SO much better than whoever was second!" Epic man.
"perhaps one of the greatest" ????? Oh no no Mr. Cohen.. they ARE the greatest PERIOD.
Hahahaha you tell him! Years ago I watched the top 50 rock groups on VH1. I thought Led Zeppelin would better number one, and they were.
I met someone a few years ago who asked what my favorite Led Zeppelin song was. I was taken aback. Huh? I don’t have just one. She demanded that I name some. Some of the names are hard to remember so I looked them up and texted her. She then said I passed the test. If I answered Stairway to Heaven I was just a poser. Why would I just pretend to like them, that’s ridiculous. So I just said, it’s not my favorite because it was overplayed, however, of course I can play it on the guitar. That shut her up lol.
100% agree
Number 2 greatest band of all time
How about a list of underappreciated Zepplin songs like Tangerine ,10 Years Gone, Hey Hey What Can I Do, In the Light or In the Evening perhaps?
In the Evening, Gallows Pole and That's the Way is so underrated.
Achilles Last Stand.
Bron Yr aur
Tangerine is one of my favorite songs
Since I’ve Been Loving You gets no recognition
Achilles Last Stand doesn't get an honorable mention?! That song is an epic
But they learned everything from Wikipedia, so how could it be wrong?
Plus where is No Quarter or Fool in the Rain.
Go listen to the drum only track. It's crazy good.
Barry Farmer agreed
Achilles Last Stand (besides Stairway) is my favorite Zeppelin song. John Bonham goes fucking hard on the drums.
I think Achilles Last Stand is the greatest song ever written. It definitely deserves a place on this list or any other list. Between Plants soaring vocals, JPJ incredible bass line which accompany the thundering of John Bonham's drums. Some of the best and most intricate work he has ever done, and that is saying a lot believe me. Then the simple fact that it was Page's magnum opus, his guitar army took no prisoners and the track soared because of it. You put that into a large bowl and mix them all together and you get simply the greatest song of all time. Its massive sound and intricate playing, exquisite lyrics and thundering roar from all quarters. The greatest band of all time writes the greatest song of all time; Achilles Last Stand.
Saw them 7 times in the early 70s. Such an incredible group of improvisational musical masters! I could go on for days!!! Jimmy Page is one of the greatest composer/producers of all time!
The best part of Thor Ragnarok for me was putting Immigrant Song in there :D
Heck yeah. So nice they played it twice. :) I like it almost as much as the Destiny commercial. ruclips.net/video/9ZyQK6kUdWQ/видео.html
Did you know that royalties for a Led Zeppelin song are 7 digits?
I thought that movie was actually really good, and the Immigrant Song was just icing on the cake !
CASEYVLOGS Does that include cents? lol jk
djjazzyjeff123 For me it was the best Thor film, but the end battle with the lightning and Immigrant Song still puts a big smile on my face ;-)
The most flawless band in history, greatest singer....Plant, greatest drummer.....Bonzo, bass player.....John Paul Jones and the greatest guitarist.....Jimmy Page.....supergroup!
nah u violated jpj, mans the best musician out of all of them
Saw them in Houston on their Houses of the Holy tour. They opened with The Song Remains the Same. I had great seats, and when they started, Jimmy Page wielding that 18-string double-neck Gibson SG was walking across the stage in my direction. One of the best concerts I have attended.
You know ... if you're going to lie, you should do some homework to make sure you aren't making a false claim. That concert opened with Rock And Roll, NOT The Song Remains The Same...
Kelly McMillin lucky you, I’m jealous.
That’s awesome. I love Led Zeppelin
Yurek Hunt - Come on Dude, Rock and Roll was an encore. I suspect you weren’t even born yet.
Kelly McMillin We had it made in Buffalo, NY in 70s early 80s 10 years of concerts 4 every summer at Bills Stadium. Stones Zeppelin Alice Cooper Bob seger Lynyrd Skynyrd. That Buffalo called SNOW CAPITAL OF USA because of 1977 Blizzard. Always a WHITE XMAS in BUFFALO
Robert Plant's voice is one of the best of all time.
Also Freddie Mercury of course.
Dalerzo Ortega Valle don’t forget Steve Perry from Journey
Of course
Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury and Steve Perry three of the best Vocalist ever.
I know he's not a rock singer but Michael Jackson had an incredible voice as well
Dalerzo Ortega Valle This list is super subjective but I'd put Ronnie James Dio in that list too. Freddie is definitely my favorite though. I don't really know what it was about him either, there's nothing objectively amazing but seemingly every sane person agrees that he's the greatest vocalist to ever live.
The greatest underrated songs from each album IMO:
Led Zeppelin: Your Time Is Gonna Come
Led Zeppelin II: Thank You
Led Zeppelin III: Tangerine
Led Zeppelin IV: Four Sticks
Houses Of The Holy: The Crunge
Physical Graffiti: Sick Again
Presence: Tea For One
In Through The Out Door: Carouselambra
Coda: Wearing And Tearing
Maddie D Carouselambra!!
Wearing And Tearing would be a dope sports hype song
HoracetheBear E It’s truly a gem!
The HIGHSTREET You’re right it would be! Never thought of that before.
In My Time of Dying I think is their most underrated, its also my favourite LZ track..
Ten Years Gone off of Physical Graffiti is a very underrated song
Not even an honorable mention for "Heartbreaker." It features a great and memorable guitar riff, a solo that features nothing but electric guitar which sounds epic, a fast hard rock section and of course Plant's famous voice. It's my favourite Led Zeppelin song though the ones mentioned in this video are also great!
Aidan Hatton not to mention is where EVH got the famous tapping idea
Yeah heartbreaker is criminally underrated
in my time of dying , how many more times, what is and what should ever be, lemon song……on and on
@@aguy3412 Heartbreaker and In My Time of Dying flip flop at my number one spot
My favorite band. It's not easy to make a top 10 list of Zeppelin songs but Since I've Been loving You is my most favorite song of all time!
One of the greatest bands of all time
cmbceltic For me it IS the greatest (not one of the......)
cmbceltic “the” greatest band of all time
The greatest. I can honestly say that Led Zeppelin changed my life.
They inspired me to save money and buy a guitar 35 years ago and I've been smiling ever since. I met my wife at one of my shows in the 80's. (Her sister was dating my drummer at that time.) I'm in love with a beautiful woman that likes it hard and loud, and I'm the luckiest man in the world. We have two great kids, a nice home, and a room of Les Pauls and amps. The organist played "Friends" and "Thank You" in our Catholic wardding.
It's so difficult to choose just ten songs from Zeppelin , all their albums were epic so I'm not even going to try list them . As far one that didn't get mentioned here "Tea for One" the transition from the intro to the first verse is what it's all about ! Its an emotional thing you either get it or you dont. Thank You Led Zeppelin for the 11 years of great music .
Love Tea For One, some of Jimmy’s finest emotional guitar work.
“One of the most influential bands”? No...THE most influential band, ever.
I like Led Zeppelin more but the Beatles had more influence
Geez, even if Led Zeppelin was in the 60s-70s, seeing these videos highlight how badass people were and how dull my youth is at the mo.
Led Zeppelin is a MASTERPIECE, that simply 🎸🥁🎤🎹❤
What people often don't realize the key to their sound is the incredible timing of all 4 members. They have songs where they only come together on the 12th note, yet they ad lib all the time and hit that note every time. You see videos of Bonham get drunk on stage yet still hitting his timing. Which is also the reason the 2007 reunion didn't go anywhere because even with 6 weeks of practice Jason didn't have the timing.
disagree a little, 2007 was epic show plant was 59 yrs old
These guys were from another galaxy...
Best riff is "whole lotta love" by far, I've never seen a riff that I've played to people that get the same reaction as this one.
Everyone always starts singing "You need coooooling" without fail (with the right people)
My top fifteen songs by the best band ever:
1: Stairway To Heaven
2: Dazed And Confused
3: Whole Lotta Love
4: Black Dog
5: Ramble On
6: Heartbreaker
7: When The Levee Breaks
8: Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
9: Good Times Bad Times
10: Kashmir
11: Fool In The Rain
12: Immigrant Song
13: The Song Remains The Same
14: No Quarter
15: Since I've Been Loving You
Ned D. Yes stairway deserves no. 1
Glad to see fool in the rain in here
You forgot Misty Mountain Hop!
What about ten years gone? Don't know why people never talk about it. It's my favourit song of all time. It's pure beauty.
Yes!!! i have actually teared up with the main riff.
Congrats Ned, you named every commercial Zeppelin song. lol
The greatest rock band of all time
ill raise you The Stones....
@@markscreen7772 nah zeppelin were better
@@sm_4859 true
@@markscreen7772just because The Stones have been around so long, doesn’t mean they are the greatest. Hell even playing all those years, they don’t have as many great songs as Zeppelin. I like a few Stones songs, otherwise they aren’t even in my top ten great band list.

Richard Bain Kashmir? Really?
Where is Going To California, Immigrant Song, The Ocean , Nobody's Fault But Mine, Black Dog, Rock And Roll or Four Sticks :P
Richard Bain Good list! You ask a hundred different Zeppelin fans what their top ten songs are, and you'll get a hundred different lists. That's a testament to the depth and the wide appeal the band had.
I'm so glad you included Ten Years Gone on your list! It's my absolute favorite Zeppelin song.
Led Zeppelin were my first concert ever. I saw them the first time in 1970; I was 26 years old. They performed again in Vancouver in 1975 and I saw them again two nights in a row. I was in Seattle to see them the final time in 1977. Just wish all you fans that never had this opportunity to see them.. could have. It was so awesome. Today at 74 years old Zeppelin remains at the top of my best memories list. To give you and idea of just how good they were...here are some just some of my life's experience. I have met vice presidents..royalty..movie and tv stars...sports legends. I have shook hands with the Dalai lama and got to know a rock legend named Elvis Costello and his beautiful wife Diana krall. Having all those amazing memories with Led Zeppelin on top of my list should give you a some idea huh?
Yes I really wish I had seen them, sadly I was to young in the early years, towards the end they either didn’t preform here or I didn’t drive yet. I’ve loved them for at least 50 years, I’m just glad to have the videos to watch, it’s not the same but I’m still glad.
Stairway at 3?!? That is highly regarded as the greatest song of all time!
youngest flexer of the century stairway is not their best song brotha !
In terms of technical ability and creativity, stairway is in no way their best
@@kevivtawar7716 ur both right but I kinda figured watch mojo would say that bc they can't really get anything right
Lover Man Ive listened to them all, its up there in complexity and creativity, undeniably
It IS the greatest song of all time
BEST BAND EVER, 50 YEARS NOW. !!! YES, "A WHOLE LOTTA LOVE" HERE.
Led Zeppelin my #1 band since forever.... I'm a child of the 70's (born in '66) had all of this glorious music passed down to me thru my older siblings! My # 1 Rock band of ALL time. Have the the originals, and remastered editions !! They never stayed static ! Loved all the genres they incorporated into their music. One. Of. The. Best. Bands ever.
Will see Robert Plant in concert again, when he plays the Santa Fe Opera House, Santa Fe, NM this fall...

We never had the internet..(etc.) to entertain us when I first heard Led Zeppelin, just a room full of nodding heads and a record player. But I did see them at Knebworth in '79. So glad I did, just over a year before Bonzo died.. Still the very best band -ever. First songs I heard were Black Dog/Misty Mountain Hop -on a vinyl 45 single. HaHa. Thanks.
"I'm gonna crawl" still brings out anguish and tears whenever I hear it.
In My Time of Dying?
Good Time Guy three days grace?
No quarter. Especially the live version off the son remains the same. Sheer class in every respect.
My favorite led Zeppelin song
Ten Years Gone! One of the greatest riffs IMO.
My friends and I grew up with this band. We saw them in '73 , '75, '79 and it never gets old. Although my memory is a little hazy I will never forget them. I tell my kids about it all the time and how little the tickets costed back then. Almost every weekend either a freind or I would get tichets to see someone for like $10 ! The four of them made so many great great songs, an now my kids and there friends like to listen to that time.
Yes ticket were cheap, until The Eagles came along!
1971 such a sweet year. Imagine being born with Stairway to Heaven playing in the background.
They released this on the day I wore my Zeppelin shirt. Let me rephrase that, they released this in the day I wore one of my Zeppelin shirts. Easily my favorite band of all time.

The Beatles are credited a lot for making good songs and were more famous than any other band out there, but I think that Led Zeppelin made music that was more complex and creative than the Beatles. I’ve never heard music before that was more complex than these guys. So Led Zep is the greatest band ever. No other band in history could match the complexity and creativity in their music. Each performance was completely different, so they kept the music changing as well. They were 4 musicians at the peak in skill they had on their instruments. Greatest band ever.
Led Zeppelin are the greatest rock band of all time💥❤️
Zep is arguably one of the greatest bands EVER and for good reason. Jimmy is the riff king, Robert is one of a kind and cannot be matched ,John Paul jones is also one of the greatest in the bass department and bonzo is pretty much a god of a drummer but.... zep is not heavy metal.....or hard rock really but I’ve been waiting for this video forever!
Colin 2115 plant is matched and topped by Freddie mercury
Lover Man Maybe in vocal range but Plant is THE frontman. Freddie is one sound and one style. Zeppelin is ever changing and evolving
Walter ManyBallz freddie interacted with way more than plant did. Plant just stood there.
Colin 2115 It isn't one of the greatest bands ever. It is THE greatest band ever.
Plant disagrees. Check out Greta Van fleet.
A few years ago I was very, very lucky and got to play one of John Bonham's drum kits. Basically a friend of a friend had a studio hidden under his house (I don't think I should say where) and it turned out he'd inherited loads of unfathomably valuable instruments from the big bands he'd used to work for back in the day. The kit was a bright red Ludwig Accent kit with Paiste 2002 cymbals, including a China and a couple of splashes which he never used with Zeppelin (the skins and some of the cymbals looked ancient and there's a chance they hadn't changed since when Bonham had owned the kit). The snare was absolutely gigantic and was tuned to perfection - so well that I was learning new stuff just by playing it (I was generally awful at rudiments back then but I improved a fair bit that day). It was apparently the last one he'd bought before his death, for the 1980 America Tour that never happened, and the bass drum was padded out with t-shirts from the same tour that were never sold. I was there to jam with a mate, and we went through loads of covers including RATM, Muse, QOTSA, Black Sabbath, White Stripes, Sex Pistols and Motorhead. Obviously we had to do some Zeppelin covers too - we played Black Dog, No Quarter, Rock and Roll and Whole Lotta Love. (I sung and played for a couple of them.) It was an indescribably awesome experience to play the beats that got me into drumming (or my approximations of them) on an instrument of the man that wrote them. I was amazed that the guy who owned the studio let me play on that kit. I want to go back and do it again someday now that I'm a bit better, but wouldn't be surprised if it's not there anymore or has been hidden away somewhere (though the studio itself was cleverly hidden as well and seemed to only be accessible if you knew the bloke who owned it quite well).
A FABULOUS time for R&R, the only genre for all such bands at that time. FM radio didn't exist in America, nor cable TV, nor MTV, and internet wasn't even a dream. Local newspapers were how we were informed and they received information from national wire outlets like AP & UPI. When Led Zepplin landed they made a huge splash and influenced many who then defined additional genres. Don't think of them as heavy metal since even that term didn't exist until Steppenwolf released Born To Be Wild with lyrics including 'I like smoke & lightening, heavy metal thunder'. How can a genre exist with an undefined name? Those influenced by Led Zepplin created subsequent genres of today. That Zepplin is still an influence proves their prodigious impact upon baby boomers coming of age. Their name belongs with The Beatles, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis & Little Richard. So enjoy all of their music as it speaks to the sheer power & influence 4 mortal musicians can achieve in a short period of time.
You should have included "In My Time of Dying" on this list. That song is beyond awesome. ZEPPELIN RULES!!!
Favourite riffs: Whole Lotta Love, Black Dog, Kashmir

jimmy pages solo in stairway to heaven truly is golden, also thank you should've been on this list somewhere but oh well i loved this
I had my injury on the month when Bonham died and I am a living miracle for that deal. This one's for Bonham!!!!!
John Bonham
1948-1980
Also at the 5:30 mark the narrator mentions 'their July 1977 Oakland was their last US appearance.' There was actually 2 Oakland shows - July 23rd and 24th. It should've been written and stated something like: "Their last 2 US shows on their 1977 were July 23rd and 24th - with the 24th being their last show in the US together ever, as Robert Plant's son died on July 26th, which caused them to cancel their mammoth record breaking 1977 US Tour."
Been studying music theory. Main reason Zep (IMHO) ruled was Bonham. He was so solid, they could do polyrhythms such as on Kashmir. JB plays in 4/4, band plays in 3/4 which gives it that very unique pulse. Really brilliant stuff. & hard to make work. Also, most drummer tend to lock in w/ bass player. He was more locked in with Jimmy, which I think gave the band a unique vibe. And yeah.......those other 3 guys were pretty good too. JPJ was a stud too. I think the singer and guitar player get all the credit, but if ya don't have that locked down rhythm section, ya don't have a band.
I think it is telling that they called it quits after JB's untimely passing.Nope.....can't find a replacement for that guy.
You couldn't find a replacement for any of them. Bands like LZ and the Beatles are one of a kind in that their members are irreplaceable. It just wouldn't be the same fabric.
This is exactly the video I've been looking for at 2AM! Thank you!
Thanks, this must have been so hard to decide.

Michael Pierpoint My wife is irate that Immigrant Song didn’t even merit an honorable mention. I agree, and I agree that The Ocean needs to be up there as well.
Out on the tiles it's really underrated.. For me one of the coolest songs of LZ III
I love it that watchmojo is continuing to do this series because they now know the mistakes in their videos and I like it that they agree they can’t make a good top 10 even though they’ve done hundreds of them
Their rendition of "When the Levee breaks" changed my way of listening music. For me it's the best song of all time.
The ocean????
It's in JPJ and bonzo's top ten list...
Either Pink Floyd or Rush would be very interesting to do next
Someone has doubted my Led Zeppelin cress. I turned 62 years old this past July. I saw Yes on their Close to the Edge tour. I saw the Allman Bros on their EAt a Peach tour. I sawSly and the Family Stone on the sixth row. I saw the J Geils Band three separate times before Love Stinks made them a national phenomenon. I saw Van Halen in Orlando when they were a back up band for Genisis (with Peter Gabriel as front man). I may be old, but don’t question my classic Rock&Roll creds.
Oh, and I also saw Pink Floyd on their Animals tour in Jefferson Stadium in Houston. It was raining, but they still launched the giant pig balloon. The sound stage was a 40x40 platform elevated 20’ above the stadium field. They played all of Animals, all of Wish You Were Here, and most of Dark Side of the Moon.
A list on Zeppelin songs is impossible... can’t count 1-10 10-100 they changed rock and music all together. Blues, folk, rock.. name it they go it.
I liked before watched the video its led zeppelin video common guy's

Achilles last stand I think was Jimmy’s BEST complete work. Breath taking. Brilliant. Beautiful. Complex. Dangerous.

Why do people say Led is a heavy metal band. They may have inspired what Sabbath then expanded upon neither being metal bands just the
Progenitors of what would become heavy metal.
Led Zeppelin is alot more of a mixture then Hard Rock, Blues Rock, & Folk, not heavy metal
