@@rickw7903 I disagree. His voice from 69 to 71 is the best rock voice I've heard. By 75ish, the cigarettes and coke was starting to make the high notes and intensity harder to achieve, but he's still Robert Plant.
@@missdee4927 tbh I know it's a key lower but I still think he was exceptional at the O2! His more mature voice adding something else to the songs that were performed that night
On August 12th, 1968, in a small basement at 39 Gerrard Street in London, England, Page, Plant, Jones & Bonham assembled and played together for the first time. All four were stunned by what happened the instant they began playing. As skilled musicians (to put it mildly), they immediately recognized that the melding of their individual talent yielded an immensely powerful chemistry. They had bottled lightning & they knew it. I'd wager that their faces probably resembled some of these overwhelmed kids. In all of rock's storied history, Led Zeppelin remain unequaled.
Imagine being there in person and not being able to decide on who to focus on be it the guitarist, the drummer, the bassist, or the singer?!!? It definitely would've been a mind blowing experience!!!! I thank my uncle for introducing me to this band.

R.I.P. EVH & DIME & JIMMY.

Bonham is a beast on the drums, Plant is has the voice of an angel, Page has the godly guitar playing, and JPJ has the thick and sweet like honey bass!

@Kebax Kapak you really should try listening to Black Sabbath's debut and second album. They are almost equal to Led Zeppelin for me. but Black Sabbath's albums with Dio sucks in my opinion. Dio has an amazing voice but I don't know why his music is just boring.

The power and expressiveness of Plants voice even at this young age was exceptional.

He peaked around 74 - 76
@@rickw7903 I disagree. His voice from 69 to 71 is the best rock voice I've heard. By 75ish, the cigarettes and coke was starting to make the high notes and intensity harder to achieve, but he's still Robert Plant.
Nearly as good as Steve Marriotts

Robert's voice was at its most potent & powerful in 1969, imo. An instrument all in itself! 😎

Yes, he was. Now, he's not.
He is along with Bonzo the back bone of Zeppelin
Honestly, the sound is bigger, way bigger than four people could possibly create and man they were tight.
Chemistry......
Check the Doors. No bass player.
In all of rock's storied history, Led Zeppelin remain unequaled.
sono immensamente d'accordo!!!!!!!!!!!
3434arc1 August 12 is my birthday and what a fantastic thing to celebrate every year.
The concert above is not the first time Zeppelin played together.
Wandering Druid I’m pretty sure he knows given he listed the date as a whole year prior.
And the first song they played together, there on Gerrard Street, was Train Kept A-Rolling, "and the whole room exploded!"
Does rock get anymore pure than this? A base,...a lead guitar,...drums,....and a lead singer hitting it hard and pure.

My greatest musical regret was not ever being able to attend a live performance by Led Zeppelin.
I did not get to see them till later in the career then I got to see them twice in a row first one thanks to my brother Brad best present ever gave me
Is that a musical regret? or was it just not a possibility? Alot of people missed Zeppelin either bc they were born after Bonzo died or the only chance they had like my dad was the one time they were coming too his home city and then Robert Plants son Karac died and the ensueing tour was cancelled rightfully so, but that was the 1 and only time they were scheduled too come too our hometown back then.
My ex wife, then a wild hippie girl, saw them open for some band (Chicago?) in San Francisco way back in the day
