For all those who see Jimmy Page as sometimes playing a bit too "sloppy" (namely live)…well, here is a slide guitar performance for the ages, utterly nailing hundreds of chords and notes with surgical and emotional precision. Indeed, this stuff is way, way off the charts. We're taking serious alien territory. And ultimately, for a number of reasons, what you see here is very likely THE greatest live performance by a rock band in rock-n-roll history. Watch it again. Think about it. Done.

Jimmy Page - absolutely peerless; the greatest guitar player in the world, "sloppy" and all. Each member of the band at the absolute highest standard. There was Led Zeppelin -- and then there was everyone else. 40 years on, the music holds up. Other worldly, ethereal, and enchanting still.

Those who criticize Jimmy Page are just pissed bc they’ll never reach his height of TALENT! He was self taught, played mostly by ear, played with raw emotion and was/is sexy as hell! In order for you to be justified in criticism, you must go out and foresee what will happen with radio, be a solid in-demand sessions player, learn production techniques and engineering in a studio, get off your ass and find 3 other master musicians, record your first album in 30 hours and be on tour with it within 2 months, play your ass off & gain popularity where supply will never meet demand-extra concert dates, bigger & bigger venues then sell half a billion records-all within ten to twelve years! GTFOH Rock on Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Forever!!🤘🏻

The difference too, is he’s not stuck play just like the studio version. I’d rather listen to Page, then the others. I’ve seen Clapton, worst concert I ever went to, I’ve seen Beck too & nothing to brag about. I’m saying I saw them in the mid 70’s, sadly I didn’t get the chance to see Led Zeppelin, my favorite band.

They just made great 👍 music all around its really hard to pigeon hole what kind of music they were exactly. But then again I guess you could just clarify them as musical God's! Page and Plant are so in tune with each other, and Bonham and Jones take the song to another level. The interplay between the band members during Page’s solo is sooo cool! You know, I saw a live performance by Jack White recently and thought he sounded terrible. This is a guy that’s considered one of the greatest rock musicians around today. Then I watch this and realize, no, THIS is genius. THIS is what greatness sounds like live. I don’t see how Zeppelin is ever eclipsed.

Although a totally different style, Pink Floyd (sans Waters) is on the same level, at least. Gilmour is a freaking genius!
He and Page both began with a love and mastery of the blues, but they took that into 2 different but equally great arenas. I look at it not like one or the other, but 2 equals, who both have respect for what the other has done.
I wonder what they could come up with on the same stage…🤔🎸🎸

@@bungalowmoour brains would melt if Gilmour and Page on the same stage, it would be too much for the human mind to handle
