i saw many interviews of jimmy. and i have to say: he s always a VERY pleasant interviewpartner. pleasant, humble, intelligent. i appreciate him very much. no arroance, nothing. hats off to jimmy.
Every interview of Jimmy Page, I’m always impressed with how respectful he is of the interviewer, other musicians and other genres of music. You can see how sure he is of himself and what was created with Led Zeppelin but he never comes across boastful or egotistical. A very sincere and intelligent person with a unique musical gift. Led Zeppelin was a band where every member could hold his own. Putting the four of them together was a magical experience.
Jimmy page is a class act and always gives credit where credit is due....he is a humble dude...a great full dude and will go down in history forever...
You could just tell HOW proud he was of Jason. The man nailed it, and Jimmy knew it. I think losing Jason's father affected him profoundly for a long time. Probably still does, and that was just such a nice moment. LONG LIVE BONZO!!!
BubbaZen10 true. However Planty and Bonzo go way back. It affected Plant the most. Plant is also a family friend of the Bonham’s. Bonzo’s death broke Plant to this day.
Jimmy Page - wiser for the years and experience - nowadays strikes me as some Zen master. So serene, so calm and gentle he is, and yet there is no question that he is the undisputed, unsurpassed master of his instrument's art.
u are a god jimmy when i was a baby my mom used to stop my crying by putting on zep 23 years later i am playing that on guitar everyday of my life led zeppelin is the best band in the world
Never get tired of listening to the music ...All time best band that came with power, softness ,finesse, and creativity.Hats off to Jimmy Page songwriter extraordinaire.
These guys caused an uproar around the world by simply not having enough tickets for that show back in 2007. Proof that this is the greatest band ever. No videos, no tours, no b.s. Just one anouncement for ONE show. . . The true power of music.
Always a pleasure to watch the legend himself Page play on anything he's so talented smart and a true gentleman with class. The greatest guitarist to ever excist he set the bar so high no one will ever be as good or come close !
He is so intelligent and honest and humble...yet he is the Best...My favorite part of Celebration Day was For Your Life; so freaking cool to hear that song performed by Zep; and such an amazing performance.
Started listening at the age of 10, due to the wonderful taste in music of an older brother, I can't imagine my life 4+ decades later without Led Zeppelin. Best band that was and will ever be. As much as I'd love to see them live, if Robert Plant's heart wasn't in it, it wouldn't be a Zeppelin show.
Great to hear Jimmy mention Jonesy a few times. He was so critical to their sound and at times it seemed he was neglected in retrospect. This a great picture of as Jimmy said the end. The last time. glad they did it before they got any older. They were part of so many lives in a good time partying yet reflective way too. Zep!
I must say that Jimmy Page AND John Paul Jones have both aged very well and the talent between the two of them and of coarse Robert is mind blowing! I love them for giving us this music that we can listen to and literally just get taken to some other place, and we have that for the rest of out lives and our next generations will have it to enjoy because one thing I know is that Led Zeppelin will never go out of style. Rock and roll will never die, Thank God and Led Zeppelin! Tammie Faith Parrish
And this is where the difference lies between other groups and Led Zeppelin. When we were trying to learn these songs we had no idea what the hell they were doing, we were just mimicking the notes. If we had known to listen to everything from blues to middle eastern to Indian music we could have understood what we were listening to much better,
in zeppelin he almost always let Robert do the talking, but he's quite intellectual and well spoken and as knowledgeable about music history as Robert is
Plant may have done the talking but both Plant and Jones acknowledge that Led Zeppelin was Page's band. At least in the beginning. Led Zeppelin wasn't four mates playing in a garage. Page went out and enlisted the rest of the band. The first time they rehearsed together Page had to introduce JPJ to Plant and Bonham.
Jimmy is actually much better educated, incredibly well read and is a much better speaker. Robert is charming for sure and likes to talk and be the center of attention. Jimmy doesn’t need that. Jimmy is has much more depth. Love them both but given the choice to hang and talk? I would choose Jimmy every time.
I was walking along Silom Road, Bangkok, just a few days ago and passed a tall, silver-haired gentleman. Yes indeed, it was Mr Page himself. It was an honour to share just a little of the tropical space with him for a few moments.
He really seems quite at peace in his latter years, and its great to see. You see so many musicians sort of tumble off of their golden years and never really come back into their own. He seems ready to record a new Zeppelin album. Maybe he's working away at remastering some enormous collection of soundstages from 69-71...fingers crossed....
@Stroppy Paws Lori Maddox' mother gave her permission to see Jimmy Page. Hell, why not let a millionaire bone your daughter instead of a punkkid her own age?
It's similar but nowhere near the same. Page put a melody on top of the chords that are similar on the intro and made it all Zeppelin. The court ruled in Zep's favor anyway. Shove it.
This is a better-than-average interview; the lady knew a lot about Led Zeppelin. The only song I wish they'd played, but didn't, was Celebration Day itself. One of their best live numbers, and Rock'n'Roll still sounds a little incomplete without it!
Jimmy you're such a star. Your musical genius and technical abilities have kept Led Zepp going to this time. I think that Robert has aways wanted to branch out and do something new and that's not a bad thing but he enjoyed playing in the concert big time. I must buy the dvd and get lost in nostalgia once again. Such a fantastic, unique sounding band. They will go down in the anals of rock/blues history as being the best band ever.
I had the pleasure of shaking Jimmy's hand last month in Seattle at the EMP Founders Award. Only took 42 years to meet him since I first saw him about a hundred yards away in the Seattle Coliseum in '73 ! ("I've got to meet that guy", said a 14 year old kid). heheh ! See my video, "Meeting Jimmy Page".... and also the only full video of Jimmy getting onstage that night ! Rolling Stone actually put that one on their website.

There's a ballet dancer whose eyes spin and spin while he talks. His name is Mathieu Ganio. The "spinning" is indicative of how very excellent he is in his dancing. He's a sort of perpetual motion while he's here on Earth. Watching Mr. Page is like watching his composition reality. This sound or that sound is THE appropriate thing in the moment according to his intent. And of course his guitar playing also shows us that.
If you had a chance or a choice to see LED ZEP in 07 or 1977 ! of course you will pick 77 cause of Bonzo ! but it was very amazing to see the band together again! but I think understand why they have not joined together before or want to now !
I mean Jimmy Page will go down as one of the greatest human beings to ever live, do you know what I mean? In his own right he did a tremendous amount for music. Led Zeppelin will always be considered one of the greatest hard rock/kick ass live bands ever. No one will ever touch the Beatles but Zeppelin was, is and will always be a force to be reconged with.
Michael Byrd Apples and Oranges. They were doing very different things. Saw both bands live and played all their records until they wore out. Both the best at what they did.

That last frame, seeing the smile on Jimmy's face at the conclusion Celebration gig, just warms my heart.
The best part? The look on Page's face as he's watching Bonham's drumming at the very end. Then that smile once they hit the final chord. Job done!

What a humble and nice guy for being one of the greatest guitarists in one of the greatest bands.
Yes. I have never seen any arrogance expressed by Jimmy
The part where Page talks about his inquisitiveness and accessing influences really tells you the story of how he created so much of the music.
And this is where the difference lies between other groups and Led Zeppelin. When we were trying to learn these songs we had no idea what the hell they were doing, we were just mimicking the notes.
