J Dawg, really appreciate how you dig into the inner-workings of the musicians you interview. Also how you dig into what the musicians at the time thought about particular albums and bands. Gives a true historic chronicle of the time. 🤘
I always found it fascinating how everything that made Repulsion stand out was an accident. Scott has stated that the reason why the bass sounds the way it does, was because they accidentally wiped his bass tracks and had to use the scratch tracks.
No one ever mentions Warfare, Sacrilege , Loudblast , Nuclear Death, Unseen Terror, and Wargod. Repulsion was peers with those bands. They probably played shows together.
Great interviews lately Justin. So entertaining to watch as you are actually knowledgeable about releases (obviously) and the conversations just flow naturally.
My girlfriend wrote a book that's an encyclopedia on child death in movies. When it came out I helped her pack up orders and ship them out. One of the orders was to a Scott Carlson. I double checked and sure enough the grind killer himself had ordered a copy. Surreal moment.
What a great interview. Scott Carlson is such a down to earth Legend to us ...this is the 80´s Archetype -most people in bands /my mates had this attitude. Respect to the interviewer too , you can sense he´s a true Repulsion fan ,subsequently everything is spontaneous and engaging. Excellent \m/
how many autographed records do you have now ? and which is your most prized copy? and have you ever made someone sign multiple copies of the same album?
Scott’s the fukin man, nothing but endless love and respect for him. Had a drink and chat with him in 2018 at Lee Dorrian’s birthday party. He’s a definite legend
Lol guy can't read the room for shit. Like suuure, Carlson's gonna look up Attic when the only metal he listens to anymore is when Repulsion is jamming/on stage.

Iggy Scott is so much more the goddam epitome of death metal than lame geezer Glen or Yngvie Schuldinder, or even the almighty- I said ALMIGHTY goddammits- Ronnie Radke. This is, unironically, an important piece in the oral history of DM. And I meant that lug from Russia. Ronnie is actually black metal supremacy.
@Poser_Metal_Records cos he ducked Dave and I during the sessions for the Morbid masterpiece Dildo Divinum. We were going to add a fourth ! to TOO EXTREME in his honor.
My hope is the youth of today realize how brutal this man was on stage…..beyond his time….just look at the callouts on the original-pressings …of the albums you pay $100’s for. We maybe old lions …but you will never take the fight out of us. Thanks Dawg…..you get it.
Both total classics but Brando is Brando. I love that 70s Coppola/Lumet gritty style of film. The men had style and panache but were total badasses, the women were gorgeous with hair between their legs and no fake t*ts and knew how to make a sammich \m/
@@jefflawson3574 I love Brando and he's deserving of all respect, but Part II has Hyman Roth, the Evil Jew. 😄 Easily my favorite character from all the movies.
He’s got that eternal teenager energy that comes with having a genuine love of living. He’s a prime example of a sturdy midwesterner who’ll likely reach his mid 90’s. My Minnesotan relatives are all in their 70’s and they all are as active as ever, hiking and canoeing. Old timers are tough up north.
Has anyone on this channel ordered from Deathrune records (previously known as Deathtomankind records)? I ask because I just recently ordered from there and heard mixed things about the label. How would you describe your experience ordering from them? I ordered original LP pressings of the first 2 Abominator albums which have yet to be shipped and the guy said he needs to make sure they are in stock and that he is getting alternatives just in case they aren't which is very strange considering that if he doesn't have both of the albums then why would he list them on the site. Also I don't want alternatives. I want the original pressings of the first 2 Abominator LP's or my money back.
I recently ordered a few things from Earache and they also didn't have what I wanted in stock, they didn't "look for alternatives" tho, they just sent what they had with a message that I could either wait for them to have the rest back in stock or get a refund. I took a look at Deathrune's website and it doesn't look particularly well built or well kept, it looks to me like a case of them just not having your shit in stock and forgetting to remove it, it does happen unfortunately, especially with 2nd hand items like what you ordered is, I assume. Wishing you the best of luck, Abominator is sick.

Right from the horses mouth, Napalm Death Scum was influenced by Repulsion. Wish Justin could have asked Scott about Necrophagia and Kiljoy.
One of the best interviews yet. Always liked this band, good to see that Scott is a super chill and interesting guy.
