    I was in a high school band called Vaginal Discharge who became Inanimate Existence, but we had a Babykiller cover. We would open with that song which got the crowd moving! Great times

    I'm 14 years old and suicide silence is one of my favorite bands ever. I've been listening to devourment the past few days since I saw this episode. Their music is honestly kinda intimidating for me but I'm really starting to love this band. Thanks for putting this cool band in front of me!

      Underrated? You're insane. Overrated if anything. 1 amazing demo and 2 incredible albums, but most of their discog is forgettable, and doesn't even sound like devourment for thr most part.

    Necrocide is a fantastic txdm band that I still have on constant spin. It's by those original txdm bands like Necrocide, Crucifix, Prophecy, Disencumbrance, Detrimental, Imprecation and the likes that the true style and spirit was conceived and set forth. Corpse Gristle Recs was where it was at back in the glory days. I consider myself so lucky to have grown up with that stuff.

    Finally getting around to watching this episode. I was at, not one, but two different stops on that tour. They played in Spokane then played in Boise. So worth the drive.
    I had the honor of chatting with Brad from Devourment & Sean from Ingested, along with most members of Extermination Dismemberment. Just giving them all the praise all the bands deserve for putting in the work and getting on tours. Touring is never easy but it can very rewarding.

    Awesome to hear them talk about pop music influencing the strategy for structuring their songs. I’ve always thought that unleash the carnivore is one of the catchiest brutal death metal albums ever made. It really does feel “poppy” in that way. Same with abominable putridity’s anomalies of artificial origin.

      How come? What band were you in dude? Lol. I'm just goofing, you obviously dont have to disclose anything you dont want to. I liked Tooth & Nail back in the day. I was not/ am not connected to society from living very far out in a rural areA. Pre internet. I would find cool bands on a label and buy more bands from that label in the Hope's that the music would be good and I would find things I didnt know about.

    This was such an amazing interview! Killer shout out to all the older TXDM bands, I was in Battered Soul w/ Joe Riojas who was later Meshiha's vocalist. The DM scene with Christian bands like Embodyment, & Benevolence used to play @ God's Place International in Arlington TX. My band Battered Soul used to play w/ Devourment, Dielzubro, Me-At-Us, Dead Industry, Puncture, Sintury & Prophecy over in Abracadabra all ages club in Ft Worth & Dirty Perch back in the day alongside Dying Fetus, Deeds of Flesh, Nile, Cephalic Carnage, Disgorge. We even had Mike Majewski do the cover art for Battered Soul album ' Victims of Casual Brutality' (1999). Also ,Heavy 89.9FM KNON shout out to Thrashin' Allen, Dave Chaos, Kerry Rockman & DJ Sterotype! DEVOURMENT RULEZ! 1.3.8. 817

    Ruben’s new look is wild to me. Back in the day, he was intimidating AF. Nowadays, he looks like he’s about to pick his grandkids up from soccer practice. No shade, of course. Regardless of looks, Ruben’s vocals and his band Devourment are fucking legends.
    Edit: Shout out to Devourment for shouting out Embodyment! I found out about Devourment because Embodyment thanked them in their “thank you” section of the album “Embrace the Eternal”.
    Also, speaking of gnarly ass vocalists from FWT, Sect of Execration is another band with brutal vokills.

    Fun fact. That club in fort worth is owned by the man my wife works for. Abboud's son still owns the building. And they still have old shit, like panteras first demo and the old green room still has all the old Band names still on it.

    I agree, the original slam comes from those early 90's nydm legends. One band that doesnt't get much mention though is Dehumanized. Prophecies Foretold is fuckin' proper man, I love that album.

    Lol. Slam heads and modern death metal kids finally realizing what us old heads had to go through trying to convince kids how good and influential the OG death metal and death/thrash bands from the late 80s and early 90s were.
    When there’s 1000 slam/deathcore bands a minute for 15 years it’s easy for kids to have no context of where it came from.
