This was a great interview-the questions were good, and Travis seems like he’s doing a lot for himself personally as far as musical interests and mental health awareness, so kudos to you man. It was really cool to hear more about the music-making process, and vocal development over the years. My dad is currently going through treatments for late-stage cancer, and at the same time, my own band is getting some real traction, and even though it sucks to hear that Travis has been through some shit these past few years, it was uplifting to hear him talk about it, and to see the passion he still has for making music. This man made me take Death Metal seriously. His vibe is just one of a kind, just permeates through the screen. Unmistakable, all the all the particular eeriness that is travis: like a mad scientist mixed with a highschool skater punk mixed with a quirky dad/Ted Bundy...I couldn't imagine the vocalist from Cattle Decapitation being any other person.
Growing up in Escondido and going to high school with both Travis and Diego in 1991 it blows my mind that I am sitting here in 2023 reminiscing in this way. We had common friends, but never really connected.
Saw this band for the first time last December, blew my fucking mind, and gave me the first band to listen to after a show with no context, fucking unreal musicians, just attention grabbers and deep as shit, good on ya
After watching this I officially went from simply liking CD for several decades to truly appreciating the band and Travis. Even the vegan/vegetarian thing is now ok with me.
I have loved Cattle Decap for a long time and I am So stoked to listen to Travis share his thoughts! Best podcast man! Also I had a crazy run in! Two days after the Ov Sulfur episode dropped there I am at work in a meat department and Ricky Hoover and the guitarist Chase walk right by me! I had to stop them and say whats up they were super cool! I mentioned how much I enjoyed the episode! Thanks for the content man!
I'm new to this band but what sealed the deal for me was how nice and cool Travis is and also the fact that he loves a good Bidet. What a legend 😆 I know what I'll be listening to at the gym for the next few months.
Cattle Decapitation is one of my favourite bands. When I first heard their music, I thought there were two singers singing. When I later found out it was just Travis, my respect grew even more. In my opinion, Travis is the most original and interesting singer in extreme metal.
Cattle as a whole are the most down to earth dudes who HAVE NOT let fame get to them one bit. They will go from playing in the most awesome of venues to an absolute $hithole hole in the wall in East LA and still KILL IT and remain huble. Shared the stage with Cattle at said $hithole out here in East Los and it was awesome
I've been saying this for fuckin years man, Travis, and to a lesser extent Dickie Allen are absolute pioneers in the extreme genres. Both are such absolute demons. Friendly, cuddly demons. I also loved the discussion about crying to Cattle. I've never cried to their music, but the last half of the final song on Death Atlus gives me the fucking chills. Super emotional. It feels like listening to the faint wailing of people who are losing their planet; remorseful but its too late, sort of in a pathetic way... if that makes sense.
I love these guys. Their music is amazing. Their message has a deep meaning. They inspire me, I feel like I've known them my whole life, even though I've only been a fan for 3 years.
Didn't expect him to be like that. Very natural and genuine. I thought he'd be more of a "lad", like beer and touring stories etc, and also way more tree-hugging in the interview. Came across as very honest, I appreciated him and the host and the interview.
Travis really doesn’t get the credit he deserves for inventing the vocal style that every deathcore vocalist now uses. The zombie/tunnel throat stuff.
Yup, Travis truly pioneered that style and made it "popular" with his band
I think EVERY deathcore vocalist credits him for it
Is it weird that I've become accustomed to his ghoulish screeches and yet, when he speaks solemnly in just another body...gave me chills. Idk why

Thank u for the content Garza digging the guests
Great interview, Travis seems like such a genuine down to earth and good dude.
This man made me take Death Metal seriously. His vibe is just one of a kind, just permeates through the screen. Unmistakable, all the all the particular eeriness that is travis: like a mad scientist mixed with a highschool skater punk mixed with a quirky dad/Ted Bundy...I couldn't imagine the vocalist from Cattle Decapitation being any other person.
what a great podcast garza, really nice dude, so human, thx for this treat!
Growing up in Escondido and going to high school with both Travis and Diego in 1991 it blows my mind that I am sitting here in 2023 reminiscing in this way. We had common friends, but never really connected.
The culo clean device made me bust up 😂. But I'm surprised he never heard of a pack of baby wipes... 🤣
he stopped using those to use this instead.
Can't recycle baby wipes 🤷♂️
once you used a bidet youll understand. also baby wipes are terrible for plumbing and the environment which i think Travis is for.
Saw this band for the first time last December, blew my fucking mind, and gave me the first band to listen to after a show with no context, fucking unreal musicians, just attention grabbers and deep as shit, good on ya
GARZA - bro I could hug you out of your boots for this interview. Thank you!!!
“Tongue Oriented Mouth Sounds” Great name for your first book Travis 🤘😎 Looking forward to reading
Travis is the man. Had a blast tourin together. Hes an animal
After watching this I officially went from simply liking CD for several decades to truly appreciating the band and Travis. Even the vegan/vegetarian thing is now ok with me.
This interview was so deep I enjoyed every minute of it!
Honestly one of my bucket list bands, so happy they came back to my country
I'm must say I've never gotten into podcasts until finding yours. I really enjoy your show. Awesome interviews.
What a legend 😆
I know what I'll be listening to at the gym for the next few months.
I love this guy. Cattle is super cool. Keep up the great interviews
They should restock their merch. I was unable to get the shit I wanted from their new record cus it sold out so quick
Garza keeps killing it with all these interviews
Yes he killed it definitely. It’s dead. Forever. In the ground. It’s gone. It’s really gone. You’re so spot on you damn genius
Wasn't expecting the portable bidet 😂
Happy to see he is getting the recognition, respect and credit he deserves!
Didn't expect him to be like that. Very natural and genuine. I thought he'd be more of a "lad", like beer and touring stories etc, and also way more tree-hugging in the interview. Came across as very honest, I appreciated him and the host and the interview.
