I wasn't expecting to hear Jacob with a more American accent and Lille with a stronger German accent, I love this guys so much theyre such a big influence , I think they took bdm a level above Suffocation in terms of brutality and complexity and after that BDM just hit a plateau, it's gonna be difficult to surpass what this guys have done
My favorite death metal band, and one that actually uses the right production for the style. An organic drum sound is nearly extinct these days. These guys are for real, not just pop production.
Hearing Lille's influences and how happy he was back then made love metal even more. Best drummer in the game and arguably the best BDM band in modern era. Hail Defeated Sanity!
Awesome interview. Dudes have always seemed so humble for how talented they are. Also surprised Lille didn't mention his shirt. Iniquitous Deeds absolutely rip
I can't tell you how thankful I am for this interview. Defeated Sanity has been my favorite death metal band for the past year now and I can't get enough of their music. Appreciate all that you do.
So glad I got to see them in Anaheim and in noho this year 2023 . Complete insane crowd energy . I’ll probably upload the videos real soon . Best show this year so far
These guys are amazing. One of the best BDM bands ever existing. Got a few months ago a passage's into deformity t shirt from their bandcamp. Good stuff man!
Duuude I've been seeing clips of this podcast on tiktok , honestly my fault for not checking out the full pod on youtube sooner. but fuck yeah an interview with my recent favorite band! Just discovered this golden fucking music and im mad it took me so long to hear the greatness that is Defeated Sanity. Shoutout to you for doing this interview.
46:54 Martyrium is definitely an exception, I love the re-recorded version, the original mix was muddy and often you couldn't hear what was going on. But the re-recording of Psalms Of Moribund was pretty uninspired, it lacked the energy and heavy chugs of the original and wound up sounding worse.
I love this podcast. I just can’t get into Suicide Silence,is that his band? Excuse my ignorance. But I’m just more old school DM. I loved his Glen Benton interview.
All good brother. We all have tastes man. I am sure Chris doesnt mind if you dont like his band but will appreciate you being here supporting his youtube channel. I started on Deathcore and evolved to OSDM / NWOSDM.
I always wondered... What's the difference between Technical Brutal Death Metal vs Brutal Technical Death Metal? 🤣😂. Anyways thanks Chris for the great interview. Cheers mate
Maybe.....almost? I mean they do have something Atheist don't have and vice versa....but Atheist seems more iconic in a way. To me Hallucinations has its flaws which cant be said about Unquestionable Presence....gotta have a hard think
@@hideousinfirmity Atheist had better songwriting I'd say, but it's neat Atrocity kinda developed a similar technical style in their own little German bubble
@@kggregorie on Hallucinations for sure...Todessehnsucht though.....I doubt Atheist coulda ever written that intro song...that's just unique...its not even tech death it's Atrocity and noone else ever succeeded to sound like that....
Theres something a lil weird to me about a deathcore dude in a band who has almost 800k monthy listeners on spotify interviewing an underground brutal death metal band like Defeated Sanity, Garza is a nice chap though and i appreciate the content.
I totally forgot about cephalic carnage til he brought them up. Wikipedia claims they're still an active band but they've done nothing since 2011. At one point I had lucid interval, anomalies and xenosapien physical copies. What happened to those guys?
A lot of the üeople in the european Metal scene are simply very close minded and pride themselfs on their purist elitism of Heavy Metal according to their rules. No experimental elements, no throatsinging techniques and god forbid nothing even vaguely -core whatsoever. I like Defeated Sanity even more now knowing they come from Bavaria
I'm sure I'm completely biased, but modern day kids don't listen to this shit anymore. I hope I'm wrong, but modern day shit sucks now. Not proper death metal in my opinion
Ok. I will definitely peep them. I am very particular though. I don't like most high vocals and screams. Im very narrow minded when I comes to my death metal as u can see from my og unique leader list
Man Garza you're delivering what the people want. For the culture!
The current GODS of BDM!!!
This is insane you got Defeated Sanity, absolutely based
It's certainly cool...
Normal Lille is still in germany and Jacob moved in the us
Garza is a legend for this one!! I love both bands despite sounding extremely different from one another
a meeting between death metal and deathcore.
Defeated Sanity are bringing an entirely new and different kind of life to extreme music. Fucking LOVE this band!
the fact that they mentioned Heinous Killings and then sing the last riff from Strangled by Instestines perfectly brought a smile to my face

Hail Defeated Sanity!
Wrapping this episode up with Heinous Killings is so sick haha, album rules!
You’re giving us gold. Such valuable content for the genre. 🤘🏼🖤
Such a great podcast and sick they mentioned Heinous Killings, Joe Wolfes predator croak vocals were insane.
Awesome interview. Dudes have always seemed so humble for how talented they are. Also surprised Lille didn't mention his shirt. Iniquitous Deeds absolutely rip
Defeated Sanity fucking rocks
Love Defeated Sanity! One of the best out there. Lille drumming is FIRE!
Shared the stage with this dudes several times. Dudes are f-ing great people. Love 'em. Great musicians, outstanding. ❤ massive German Brutal Death 🤘
please bring us more music, the world needs defeated sanity!!!!
Legends. Psalms of the Moribound is a timeless classic!
why? how?
@@trinitymatrix9719 wym how its def top 5 bdm albums ever
Defeated sanity got me well last week. Passages to Deformity are satisfying for those with an acquired taste for bitter ends.
Chapters and Prelude are also bangers.
I was not expecting to Hear the band Weather Report mentioned during this interview and that's awesome
I can't tell you how thankful I am for this interview. Defeated Sanity has been my favorite death metal band for the past year now and I can't get enough of their music. Appreciate all that you do.

Thank you so much for the podcast. It was a pleasure to learn more about Lille and Jacob. Hail Defeated Sanity!

DS is one of a kind TBDM band. Unique and Innovative 🤘
Hell yeah man I love all this lore from all these bands. The stuff we don't hear at all. Thank you for this platform Garza🤘
Thank you Chris, your podcast is the real thing!

Gonna be opening for these guys this summer, im beyond stoked!
Great podcast and they mentioned Heinous Killing such a sick brutal Band 🤘 Skinned Alive in Acid is sick track as a whole album
Omg Defeated Sanity and Devourment were my top slam death grind bands in my youth. Crazy still seeing them around
Yo Garza thank u for having these guys on Legit these foos are my favorite band of the last 6 years
My favorite Slam band

Awesome to see defeated on here, met the guys last year when they toured Australia. Such nice guys and such a good band to see live
Defeated Sanity rips
I don't like Suicide Silence, but Defeated Sanity rules! Great interview!
Awesome interview!!
Defeated Sanity rapidly moving up my like list.
Caught them a couple months ago in North Hollywood. Good shit.
A room full of legends.
DF Sanity are legends. Suicide Silence is utter garbage.
I love this podcast. I just can’t get into Suicide Silence,is that his band? Excuse my ignorance.

So badass that Heinous Killings was brought up
Saw them day one at chain reaction. Incredible show
Seen this show last night in Albuquerque and they were so sick. Made my day to watch this. 🤘🏽
if i am not wrong the host is a member of Suicide Silence
Lille is so right about Atrocity, I've always thought they were easily on par with Atheist those 1st two albums

Garza should get Hypocrisy on next.
I don't even like BDM but Defeated Sanity are incredible!
If you like DS, you probably would like BDM. You just haven't heard the right albums.
That show at chain was awesome played my favorite song and started moshing.
Dude! Awesome!
Awesome stuff, thanks
cool interview. Im actually in the podcast at 1:03:54 in the black Devourment cap front row Obscene Extreme 2015 :)

Cali bands that recorded at Moon Productions Studios: that was the pinnacle of old school bdm.

SADUS/ Swallowed in Black was technical for it's time!!! 👍
Unfuckintouchable to this day! Just the speed alone makes all other thrash tame.
Those 2 ATROCITY are Technical OSDM masterpieces!! Still have the Original cassettes!!! 👍

01:09:28 - Heaviest band ever --->wonder they don`t mentioned Guttural Secrete
