So cool to hear these stories in English. Brujeria changed my musical life when I was subjected to it in high school back in 95. Never thought I would ever see them perform live and was lucky to see them in Fort Worth, Texas in '07. The first 3 albums are absolute crushers. It was always fun to get my friends and coworkers of mexican descent to try and translate some of the lyrics and seeing their response to this white guy blasting the tunes at high volumes on lunch breaks. We all want more from stories from Juan Brujo. Matando Gueros!

But man, hearing him cry regarding his relationship with Dino was so heatfelt. These are the kind of dudes you need in your life. This dude is REAL, he'd have your back. Dino clearly needs to wake his ass up and see the bigger picture. He ain't getting any younger and these are the relationships that are for life. Ain't too many dudes out there crying over him, I'll tell you that. To have someone willing to put themselves out there like this, in public no less! Brujo clearly cherishes his time with Dino.

1994. At the time I knew Brujieria and owned the original print of the Matando Gueros. I would regularly wear the Machetzaos longsleeve to high school (until I was told not to anymore when someone finally looked at the washed out picture). I was a white kid. I found them through Fear Factory who I discovered on Roadrunner's At Death's Door II compilation.
i saw Fear Factory at the Whiskey a Go Go that year. They had Soul of a New Machine and Fear is the Mindkiller. Demanufacture would come out the next year. Machine Head and Clutch opened for them. Brujieria came out in the middle of the Fear Factory set and played a couple of songs. They ran off the stage like they were being pursued. It was great. It was a great show. FF played the entire album of Soul of a New Machine except for Suffer Age. One of my favorite live shows and I've been to hundreds.
According to this podcast, their first show was in 2003, but unless they had someone else singing for them for that appearance (they were all masked), 2003 was definitely not the first time they played live.

The first Brujeria cd Matando Gueros scared and inspired me.The singers sounding like my father when he got angry!!Totally changed my life and heavy music. In SPANISH!! Tuned down guitars and bass guitars till the strings were flopping on the frets.. Distortion layered at its finest.Thank you Juan and Dino and all for your Genius.

I'm a born and raised Mexican and I remember going to la secu and the gang was talking about Brujería and how they were narco psychos that were like secluded in a forest and never came out of there. When I listened to Brujerismo I was shocked to listen to the lyrics because back then NOBODY did that, Matando Güeros was on every party back then. To this day I love Brujería and NOW I KNOW why they called them "Sepulculo" xD. Thank you Garza, happy 2024.

After this interview one thing is for certain. Dino is the most egotistical guitarist on the planet. No wonder every single project hes worked has fallen apart. Juan seems like a good ass dude and down to earth!
