so wow ferrari win 1 race. this isnt something to be glad about. it shows the budget cap isnt working. every team knew since race 3 they are fucked and their season was down the gutter because red buull was miles ahead. and since they cant develop anymore because that would cost to much. everybody is happy with a ferrari winning 1 race.(carlos drove very smart and deserves the win) but was it really a race. maybe for 2 laps when the top 4 was close.but with 68 laps of management this wasnt a race
And the fact that it was also a honda engine

To be fair,the fact that Verstappen qualified poorly,had terrible SC timing and a VSC just two laps after he pitted,falling to 15th and still finishing 5th right on top of Leclerc is very impressive.

Joking aside, it's quite depressing that even on their "bad track" with a horrid quali run and shit (V)SC luck RedBull STILL put Max into P5 and Checo into P8. If the SC hadn't happened it wouldn't have surprised me if they had put at least Max onto the podium.
Also, that VSC was the MVP. If that hadn't happened the Mercs wouldn't have pitted and the race would have ended the way it had been up to that point... a boring procession.
EDIT: And anyone banging the flexiwing drum is too high on hopium to be taken serious. Every goddamn year there's complaints about flexiwings and every year it's a massive nothingburger. We already knew at the beginning of the season Singapore was going to be a bad track for Red Bull.

We have to mention Sainz's incredible race IQ. He was not impressed by Norris' pace in that final stint and knew Russell was coming with fresh rubber, so he asked his engineers to give him the delta time with Lando, not with Russell, in order to give him DRS and make if much more difficult for Russell to pass. Sainz won this race because he was able to create a DRS train, that's what I call a master move
I got huge Singapore 2015 vibes from this, the utterly dominant team is just suddenly nowhere for one weekend and a Ferrari wins

Agree, I looked at the gap between Verstappen and Leclerc, and just dismissed it out of hand. He could never catch him during this 'off' weekend, but he did and almost beat him. We didn't see much of it, but those laps must have been mega.
Why are people surprised? Ferrari is quite litalerally one of the worst teams with tire degradation whereas RB is the best team in that department, even the drivers said said ferrari had 1-2 secs more in them
That was due to the reversed strategy. Max is pretty good at saving his tires but he was literally nowhere when the other teams switched to hard as well during SC. When Max switched to medium all the lead cars had tires that were the same age as when they left Max standing and with the cars now lighter he could seriously jump forward. Should Max have been able to match his stop with the VSC (that occurred two laps later) he might very well have ended on the podium.
you forgot to say how Sainz made Norris take his DRS on porpose so that Russel couldn't sorpass them!

Honestly I think next race RedBull is going to be fast as usual. Singapore is a very peculiar track son I think the regulation change and RedBull underperforming is just a coincidence.
Almost as coincidental as oversupplying sandwiches in 2021.

FYI, my team is not in any position to win anything, but I do have a laugh about heaps of self inflicted loses, and that is Ferrari. Be glad the former Mc Laren bros teamed up, Russell fudged it and the other Merc is still in carburating, otherwise it would've been yet another tearfest for you.
I was seceretly hoping Redbull would win all races, just for what an incredible achievement that would have been. And yes, I know that would have been boring, which is exactly what Singapore wasn't. The 10 wins in a row for Max are incredible anyway.
Fun fact: “Max was stuck behind a HAAS”, with “Haas” being the Dutch word for “Hare”… so that much for Max being the Hare here…😅 Like your posts big time btw, and all kudos to Sainz winning.🎉
Seeing Russell crash at the end was a cherry on top of a great race. Carlos gets a huge ton of respect helping Norris get 2nd. The only downer was having to watch two great guys take the podium with antisocial Lewis Hamilton.

Also, the dudeabides, Sainz did not help Norris out of the kindness of his own hearth, it was to protect his own position. If Merc got past Norris, they would be pressing Sainz and probably win.
That being said, Sainz even gave Norris DRS in the last lap, while he could have pulled away and sacrifice Norris. Amazing race from both Sainz and Norris!

Red Bull didn’t have flexi wings. They said at the beginning of the season Hungry and Singapore would be their biggest challenges.

Worth mentioning Perez's driving standards today were rather bad.

especially when you look that Max was proper quick at the end of the race - was chasing leclerc by 3 sec a lap, he would got him should this race was literally a few corners longer
all the way at the start of the season 3 races were mentioned as those which were particularly not suitable for Red Bull car design - Baku, Monaco and Singapore.
flexi wings allow you to drop some drag on straights and by this go faster
Red Bull problem was clearly lack of grip in slow corners, not top speeds
So i wouldn't be at all surprised to see business at usual, in Suzuka next week

I am a max fan. have been since he was in the toro rosso, however even I can enjoy a fantastic race without the RB at the top of the field. max got his record, he basically has the championship locked up at this point. even if they have a mediocre last quarter of the season I'd say its been a pretty successful year for MV33. lets just hope the rest of the races are bangers

Will asks Red Bull to not show up for the remaining rounds ... and also says that their pace disappeared with "flexi-wings." If the latter is correct, I suppose Will gets his wish. On the other hand, if Red Bull dominate at Suzuka, then Will may owe them a flexi-apology.

RB wasn't slow due to the wings btw. It was due to a higher height setup due to the bumpy asphalt, causing the RB to loose grip
Red bull have said from the beginning this track is where they will suffer, they said the sim work was terrible for this track but great for Suzuka so you should probably wait for that race before they rabbit and hair analogy.

Tbh, this was red bulls doing. They were a hot mess all weekend (not the drivers, but the setup, comms and run plan).

Surprised you didn't mention Carlos's masterplan of intentionally giving Norris DRS just to make it more difficult for the Mercedes to overtake.
Side note: I might be a MV fan, but I would have been genuinely surprised if he or Red Bull had somehow managed to win _every_ race this season. I think it will take a few races to see if the pace was just the RBs not being suited for Singapore or if it actually did have something to do with the flexi-wings.

Only issue I have with the vid honestly is you saying the FIA has any sort of favoritism towards Max and blatantly skip over the fact that #blessed was not investigated for overtaking Norris and Russel with obvious cornercutting.
I do need to know though, which tortoise was Max gloating against exactly? Because I don't remember him him doing any obvious gloating apart from being rightfully proud of what he's achieved.

@@ThaKinGuiN At the time the overtake on Norris was considered legitimate because he had gotten ahead before he tried to overtake Russell (and went off the track). However Norris thought otherwise and complained to his race engineer who brought it up with the stewards. When the FIA announced they would investigate the Norris overtake Mercedes decided not to cause any more problems and told Hamilton to give the place back to Norris.
Ha ha ha. I have a strong feeling Max and the RB machine will be right back on top next race. All the Lewis fans are jumping with joy thinking the flexi-wing TD has something to do with this week. Personally, I believe Christian when he says this is the same car. When Max resumes his onslaught what will your excuse be then? I don’t hold it against ya though Will, you deliver your barbs with humor and good nature and even if you aren’t a Max fan that’s OK because you do it well.
Good race by Sainz though and congratulations to Merc for making a decent show of it.

As a max fan the smugness levels were a bit much in this vid haha, but keep up the good work mate the Indy and F1 stuff is always fun to watch, and hopefully next year the pack is a bit closer to the RBs so more people can find these gems 👍

As an American, I fully concur that COTA is the only good US stop on the F1 calendar. And that makes no sense because we have high-grade, racing circuits like Indy, Sebring, and Watkins Glen. I truly can't wait for the Vegas and Miami contracts to expire
