It would be good for F1 if we can get a couple more teams fighting for the championship. Having RB, Ferrari, Merc & McLaren all be contenders would be great

The uncomfortable questions. 1: Will F1 enforce it's own rules consistently, or will it continue to give 'headline drivers' a different set of rules to the rest? 2: Will there be any racing at the front? 3: Will we see a mechanic seriously injured or killed due to exhaustion? 4: Will Americans keep turning up to the Miami and Vegas GPs as the novelty wears off and the fakery begins to grate.
I would not necessarily take heed in the pole that MCL will be RB closest competitor. MCL is an UK team, and this is a UK based channel. I am a MCL living in Australia, but I am not quite on the band wagon yet. It felt like last years improvements were a fluke. I hope I am wrong

As a Mc Laren fan from before the hype I’m glad I’m not dillusional about being hopeful for next seaso I do wonder if RB will take albon back, they weren't keen on losing him out of the driver program to begin with. I do hope the Chinese GP happens this year so Zhou can race there, it was a shame De Vries didn’t make it to Zandvoort last year and even would’ve been if Latifi didn’t get to race in Canada
just a thought.. but if everyone is underachieving, how can you tell? It's not like we have access to the board-room discussions in which they decide where and how they are going to focus their efforts..
The biggest uncomfortable question you've not asked is "what happens if F1 carries on with its desire to move away from histotic permanent circuits and have a street circuit based championship"......I can't believe F1 is even contemplating ditching Suzuka for Osaka, if this comes to pass then there'll be a domino effect, Silverstone, Spa & Monza will all be under threat. F1 is most definitely on the wrong track(excuse the pun).
To my mind, the team with most potential to take the fight to Redbull is a Mercedes that’s got it right this time, and if they haven’t then it’s McLaren who look likely to be 2nd best (far behind 1st though). So it’s about whether you believe in Mercedes or not
Merc got it wrong two years in a row, no reason to believe they will get it right all of a sudden. They just don't get aero, especially the ground-effect variety.
I genuinely don’t understand how people can look at Mercedes and McLaren and think McLaren are more likely to beat Red Bull. In the last 10 years, Mercedes’ worst performance was P3 in 2022. McLaren’s best performance was P3 in 2020.
Can we stop the schedule BS for the drivers. They drive either 2 or 3 races in a month. They are flown in private jets and are VIP's everywhere they go. In a 4- 5 week period they will drive either 6 or 9 practices and 2 or 3 qualified rounds. The schedule is tough on. The crews, but compared to most of the fans, we don't want to hear how hard it is working that schedule.
I know everyone loves drivers, but does anyone else apart from me just support a team in general instead of a driver? I’ve supported McLaren since I was very little and have watched them winning in the late 00’s and 2010’s and when they were at the back, but never stopped supporting them no matter the driver
I love F1 but found I was bored last season as the championship was a forgone conclusion very early on. A 24 race calendar and a run away winner again isn’t something to look forward too. I hope the other teams can genuinely challenge RB this season and make a fight of it?
Saying haas has next to no history is more than a little harsh haha. They’ve lasted longer than BMW or Toyota did and far outlasted the caterham/hrt/virgin trio
@@masedi85 They won 3 races sure. But this year Red Bull won EVERY race except for one, which Ferrari won. Again, Red Bull just made huge gains this year and watching Max race was like watching a video game on easy mode.
RB did make gains, but not as much as you want to make it seem. It is a fact ferrari regressed compared to 22, the pace in Bahrain alone shows it, they were about 1 to 1.5s a lap slower than the year before. That is a prime example of regression.
To be honest, I feel the huge amount of races will hurt the viewers numbers more then Red Bulls dominance. I've been watching F1 for many years and I notice the excitement for a raceweekend is not as big as it was when you had to wait multiple weeks between races. For me the novelty of a raceweekend is starting dwindle due to the abundance of events on the calendar.
25% increase in F1TV subscription announced this morning is a punch in the mouth to fans denied the opportunity to see Andretti on the grid. Go ahead Liberty Media, tell me again this isn’t all just about greed.
Anybody notice f1tv’s €30 price hike?! It went from like 65 to 95😮 it’s almost like we’re being used to increase the money pot so it doesn’t get as diluted when andretti joins😂😑
@@shadowmancy9183 Then you are thinking wrong. Andretti has no case in any court, since this is how F1 works. You can't just enter a competition without the other competitors and governing body agreeing to that, after all they are the ones you are dealing with directly. There is no court in the world that can force others to accept you, especially if your business proposition is rather shaky. And believe me, the proposition from Andretti is very shaky, the teams and FOM can see that themselves quite well.
@@EntropicExergy The only rules are to pay the anti-dilution fee, which they are able to. FIA has given the green light, meaning they satisfy the contractual agreements to race. FOM's concern is about media licensing. If a team showed up for any sport, satisfied all requirements on paper to compete, and was denied, then it's anti-competitive, which in the EU, can lead to a lawsuit. If the rules allow for 12 teams, and two other teams can satisfy the letter of the requirements to race, there should be 12 teams on the grid. I don't think anyone is reasonably expecting Andretti to win a race within two years of entry, but once they're a works team, we'll see what pace they can really bring. If they're competitive in the midfield in 2027, we should be in for a good 2028.
I hope that F1 doesn't split from the FIA as being an entrant with an FIA car the huge overheads of their structure will fall on us poor saps the cost of having and running an FIA approved car is already eye wateringly expensive enough!
IMO Mclaren have maxed their potential and we have yet to see a full Dan Fallows Aston Martin. Mercedes will be number 2 and Ferrari will be swapping places with Mclaren and Aston Martin depending on the type of blunders they make depending on the weekend.
You saw the effect of Fallows'work, they went back when they put up their upgrades. Fallows is nothing but an Alibaba version of Newey at best, can only copy but not actually develop.
24 race weekends is not alot. I get they are super wealthy and would like to spend their time doing other things but spending half the weekends in a year racing should not be alot to ask. They live in the lap of luxury everywhere they go. The team thats making a normal living working changing tires on these cars have something to complain about.
Since you can't do it without the pit crew, i'd say the complaints are valid. The pit crew mechanics don't live quite as luxury a life as the drivers do and some drivers (like Max) are actually complaining on behalf of the mechanics and not for themselves.
Will 2024 be the last season for the sprint races? I am probably not the only one who would like them to go away in order to stop diluting the interest of the GP.
Ultimately, the most uncomfortable question is: Can any team bring a meaningful fight to Red Bull? A second year like 2023 could be disastrous for long term interest.
The annoyance of being an F1 fan is to hear the build up of how great a car will be, only to realize over a short 3 days...that it sucks...fully and totally sucks. And worse you can't change this for a year (big ticket items like tubs, suspension, engine/gearbox). And then listen to a year long set of excuses. But I'm still a fan...I guess. But it's really getting old.🙄🤔🫣
If it looks like another Red Bull cake walk, I, for one, will switch off. For clarity, I'd be saying this if it were McLaren, Merc, or Ferreri dominating.
@EntropicExergy No because, despite Lewis' championships, he at least had some competition in the form of Rosberg, Vettel and latterly Verstappen, none of his championships were cakewalks like Verstappen's 2023 triumph. If Lewis or Leclerc had walked 2023 I'd say exactly same, no-one can be happy seeing one Team dominate like RB did, and I don't take any kudos from them, in fact I doff my cap to them, but superiority of that nature isn't healthy for the sport as a whole.
@@Paul_Allaker8450 Hypocrisy detected, i am not even going to bother with that BS you just posted. It was Max dominance, not RB dominance if you look at what Perez did. The mere fact you can't distinguish the difference between driver dominance (Max) vs car dominance (merc) says it all. The sport can miss low-knowledge "fans" like you easily.
No driver other than Prost in 1986 has won a title, let alone dominate, without the best car on the grid. Sure, Perez couldn't do what Verstappen did, but he still came second by a wide margin even when it was widely accepted he massively underperformed. Add to that the fact Red Bull is effectively a one-car operation as much as, say, Ferrari where in the MSC era, and the picture is complete. Saying the Red Bull wasn't lightyears above the competition is disingenuous.
Some people might say I’m coping with this statement, but the 2023 Ferrari was highly influenced by the Binotto leadership. Let’s see what they can cook up for 2024.
The two questions need to be answered and that is the Andretti/FOM mess which needs to be sorted out by March/April or F1 will look like nothing more than a downhill push cart series. The other is why should permenet circuirts keep on investing, keeping their venuse up to scratch when the promtoer just adds more and more street circuits to the calaneder at the expense of permenet circuirts. Why should Silverstone, Suzka, Canada, Imola, Barcelonia, Spa and the others shell out massive amounts of money to do this plus pay the huge promoter's fees only to be bumped off the calander. These tracks most of them built F1 and are part of the heritage like Monaco. F1, also has to look at staff burn out and if I recall Max has already pointed to this as a factor that may make him retire. There needs to be a work/life/family balance and it is disappearing fast. In reality he is too young to retire so he may move onto another catogory that has 18 rounds. F1 risks loses BIG names if they don't take this seriously. Plus with the expanded calander doesn't that mean more prize money? So doesn't that make the teams arguement of getting a smaller piece of pie if Andretti comes in null and void. The FIA/Liberty has already increased the pie over previous seasons.
Imo the bigger question is what do Red Bull do if they decide Checo hasn't done enough to justify an extension for 2025 but that neither Yuki nor Daniel are deemed worthy of being Max's partner
Gene Haas has no pure interest in being competitive and Andretti is CHOMPING at the bit. This seems prima facia, to be the easiest decision to alleviate 2 big problems.....but greed, not passion will likely win.
The teams don’t want it because it would further split up prize money. What I don’t think they understand is an Andretti team is hugely favorable to the US market (which they are desperately trying to keep tapping into) and it would also show that F1 is growing again which would be a positive sign to investors both of which would increase revenue for all teams.
@@RoyMatzem money is the reason but Andretti was only ever going to enter in 2026 anyways. The money issue is an issue of prize money and the cost to F1. All teams see Andretti as someone who will make their prize earnings smaller and only add more competition. F1 has a lot of costs per team in terms of setting up and orchestrating each race. F1 needs to be convinced that adding another team will increase their earnings rather than add to costs. And the teams need to just not have a say cause it’s ridiculous that they do.

Andretti will not be bringing the americans in like he claims he will because of said lack of success and the other teams and FOM aren't fooled by all his sugar-laced hypotheticals.
Will the Race even try to do an unbiased coverage of 2024 season?
You are asking a lot there
The only thing that would make me turn my back on F1 would be a sale to Saudi Arabie or some such despots ala Golf (which is as exiting as watching paint dry)

From the language of Sauber and some of its chief engineers, Zhou was kept on grudingly over Pourchaire. With Audi taking 75% control of Sauber in 2025, I feel like Sauber's influence over the lineup will be diminished and that Theo has probably missed his chance to get into F1. Most uncomfortable question: Can any team be named worse than Visa Cash App RB?
Sauber is trying. But they will only come close, never beat this crap.
@@mscbijles1256 I almost included "and/or Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber", but for what it's worth you can call them "Stake", "Sauber" or "Kick" on some weeks and it's not so bad even if "Stake" and "Kick" are dumb. There's no good way to say "Visa Cash App RB". "RB" doesn't work. "Visa Cash App" is terrible, and they will want people to say the "Cash App" part.
Yes, if VCARB wins 🏆. Winning is the cure 😉.
there are also shenanigans at Alpine with both Ocon and Gasly officially having sent their agents for other opportunities- We could well see the mid-pack going a bit down and a clear split for the 1st 4 (RB, Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren) and the 6 others behind, unless AMR can make a nice step again :)
1:37 My mans cutting nothing lol. Great B roll
I use tools like that, it's face sanding, not slicing - perfectly legitimate, even if not much material is coming off.
People are overestimating Mclaren. They have been struggling for over a decade, especially in the first half of the season. Ferrari is the team with the most chances of catching up to RB because they have the speed down the straights (which is harder to gain in comparison to downforce)
American fan of 26ish years here. I hate this push for an American audience and, the push to change the sport for gains to that end.
I have few more - what will Alpine donif they don't improve
Will Cash App whatever team finally be more than a midfielder
Make or break season for Perez and Riccardo
Will Williams make the step it needs?
Yeah I'm sorry, I absolutely love Lando but the main point of 2024 is Guenther leaving Haas. They're so irrelevant without him. No disrespect to the drivers, this is nothing on them, I'd say regardless of who was driving those cars.
I cant wait till McLaren show up as a backmarker again and everyone gets surprised even though they've been doing this for the last like 9 years now.
Driver X is gonna win a race this year, I can feel it!
Great vid. Thanks for the content ❤
Two awkward questions I have are:
Does Lance Stroll's seat vacate if he underperforms because of pressure from Lawrance's new partners?
Does Eau Rouge get reformed if another tragedy occurs?
No and No.
Wow, I'm shocked that the Calendar isn't as messed up as last year.
It would be good for F1 if we can get a couple more teams fighting for the championship. Having RB, Ferrari, Merc & McLaren all be contenders would be great
Scrap merc, we all saw in 2021 how vile they get when there is actual competition. I don't need their classless mudslinging like they did back then, let them rot in the midfield or in the back.
Drs train is now the new Trulli train. It has become the exact thing it was brought in to rectify. When will they design this out of the series?
not really any questions, we already know max has won this year and redbull are constructors unless something has gone wron with the redbull over the break. nothing really intresting gonna happen there till the rules change
So dont watch it then and back until 2026 or until your favorite have rocketship again simple as that 😂😭🤡
The uncomfortable questions.
No mention of Daniel Ric having to perform when Liam Lawson performed so much better in replacement yet got pushed to reserve driver? Missed that one. My bet is he lasts 2/3 season then is swapped out.
As a Mc Laren fan from before the hype I’m glad I’m not dillusional about being hopeful for next seaso
I do wonder if RB will take albon back, they weren't keen on losing him out of the driver program to begin with. But Williams in 2024 will be interesting, if they can compete with Aston and Alpine I’d be so happy

I do hope the Chinese GP happens this year so Zhou can race there, it was a shame De Vries didn’t make it to Zandvoort last year and even would’ve been if Latifi didn’t get to race in Canada
I'm more interested on how the commentators will deal with the "VISA Cash App Banking Financial Services on iPhone and Android RB" car

just a thought.. but if everyone is underachieving, how can you tell?
Times don't come back,it's the momentum that counts in F1!
2024 standings will be Redbull > Mclaren > Mercedes > Ferrari
Can we stop the schedule BS for the drivers. They drive either 2 or 3 races in a month. They are flown in private jets and are VIP's everywhere they go. In a 4- 5 week period they will drive either 6 or 9 practices and 2 or 3 qualified rounds. The schedule is tough on. The crews, but compared to most of the fans, we don't want to hear how hard it is working that schedule.
Great video guys!
I know everyone loves drivers, but does anyone else apart from me just support a team in general instead of a driver? I’ve supported McLaren since I was very little and have watched them winning in the late 00’s and 2010’s and when they were at the back, but never stopped supporting them no matter the driver
Same, Been a Mclaren man since the 90s!!!
No in fact lewis Hamilton will not stick around.
I love F1 but found I was bored last season as the championship was a forgone conclusion very early on. A 24 race calendar and a run away winner again isn’t something to look forward too. I hope the other teams can genuinely challenge RB this season and make a fight of it?
Prepare too be more bored this season than.
Saying haas has next to no history is more than a little harsh haha. They’ve lasted longer than BMW or Toyota did and far outlasted the caterham/hrt/virgin trio
It's not fair to say Ferrari took a step back in 2023 when it was just Red Bull taking a giant leap forward and leaving everyone behind.
Compared to 2022 car, they took a step back, the car was fragile yes but won 3 races
Lance Stroll (Rolling) - What does that mean?
Automatic renewal without a contract, apparently.
I agree with your picks 100%. I also think Mr. Haas is completely wrong, and Haas will not improve. We shall see.
This is the first time I heard there was a Logan Sargeant in F1 in 2023 .
Rather than take a chance on another team bringing more attention to the sport, and therefore more revenue to the commercial rights holder, they’ve chosen instead to chisel their existing fans for significantly more dosh.
Go ahead Liberty Media, tell me again this isn’t all just about greed.

I'm fine with that. Hopefully it proves that there's room for a 12th team.
@@shadowmancy9183 What makes you think there will be an eleventh? The signs are far from good for Andretti.
@@EntropicExergy I think it'll go to the EU court for being anti-competition, and will be ruled in Andretti's favor.
I think that the whole F1 sport administrations have no grounds to block Andretti from entering after Visa Cash App situation.
Fallows is nothing but an Alibaba version of Newey at best, can only copy but not actually develop.
its a literal stain on the sport that Visa Cash App RB is a valid entry for a team name AND a team that has no interest in competing.
Bigger longer cars are needed.
In 24, I hope the race uses "on the heals" a lot less.
Andretti- Cadillac consortium,?,realistic still?
Ultimately, the most uncomfortable question is: Can any team bring a meaningful fight to Red Bull?
A second year like 2023 could be disastrous for long term interest.
With all the upgrades and development they have been stockpiling last season, the answer is no, none can.
Anyone else notice the banger house track playing in the background?
Battling for wins - Ferrari, MB, RBR, McLauren & AMR
Nah, mostly RB with the rare ferrari or Mclaren challenge. Merc is finished with these regs.
But it's really getting old.🙄🤔🫣
There as some promise in Sainz or there was some promising signs?
FiA being at odds with F1 can hardly be called "civil war". If there is a split, then it's because FiA keeps overstepping themselves.
FIA inploding in a civil war with F1 would be orgasmic. Don't even tease me like that... .
If it looks like another Red Bull cake walk, I, for one, will switch off. For clarity, I'd be saying this if it were McLaren, Merc, or Ferreri dominating.
So you switched off after 2015 as well?
Probably not much, it is ferrari after all.
What if Ricciardo can't prove himself as a Redbull Racing worthy drive😢😢
I don't even think Ricciardo is good enough for F1 anymore...
If he can’t prove himself to be Red Bull worthy, he’s still RB worthy 😂😂
don't worry, I have a good feeling about the Visa Cash App RB, it sounds profitable
Imo the bigger question is what do Red Bull do if they decide Checo hasn't done enough to justify an extension for 2025 but that neither Yuki nor Daniel are deemed worthy of being Max's partner
@@chlcrkcough Lando Norris cough
Gene Haas has no pure interest in being competitive and Andretti is CHOMPING at the bit. This seems prima facia, to be the easiest decision to alleviate 2 big problems.....but greed, not passion will likely win.
Difficult Question: What is your reason for not accepting the Andretti-Cadillac bid?
The teams don’t want it because it would further split up prize money. What I don’t think they understand is an Andretti team is hugely favorable to the US market (which they are desperately trying to keep tapping into) and it would also show that F1 is growing again which would be a positive sign to investors both of which would increase revenue for all teams.
Money. They want more. Andretti can give or wait until 2026 and pay less.
