    That old boys wiring and pipework diagram is brilliant. It looks like the return 2 port on the cylinder is to stop self circulation of the system as he couldn't get the return back down to the boiler. Honestly it's pretty ingenious and I've had to install things like that myself on older systems when you can't rip up the floor to get new pipework in. Same with the plate heat exchanger, done that before when people haven't wanted to rip out and replace their one pipe systems.

      Yeah you can tell he took that job seriously.
      Unfortunately I didn’t get to meet him or that would have probably been a totally different job

      @@PBPlumber that video reminds me of a customer i had. he has heat pump, pellet heating and solar panels, and wanted to integrate a gas boiler into that system, with magnet valves and stuff. can tell u it was a wiring and plumbing nightmare :D

    Loving the Sunday uploads, gives me something to get me psyched up for work Monday 😂. At the end of the day you gotta keep a good balance for yourself, although I'd happily watch 2 or more episodes a week. 👍

    Great video! The fault finding on heat plate exchanger was brilliant. Definitely would like to see more of that. Hats of for sorting out the wiring of that home made heating system. Keep up the great work. Wouldn’t mind them videos twice a week.

    Hi PB, absolutely loved the part on the PHE, something that I felt I understood fairly well and you've taught me a couple of things that I'm going to be putting into practice I.e. the temperature differential between the primarys, I understood the symptoms already and probable causes but you've helped me understand it a little bit more and cement the information in my head, thank you very much and keep up with the awesome videos 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    Super video, i only started watching your video's during your hiatus, I think i was searching for magnaclense. Now binged watched the lot, picked up some superb tips, improved my bending and soldering, got myself a few tools you have recommended and now Bott set up, so you have basically cost me a small fortune lol..     Hi Pete, your video's are really well edited, and makes things very job related, so the more the merrier. That plate heat exchanger stuff is boggling my mind, but I'm playing it over a few times to try to get to grips with it. That guy that installed the system is a genius. The sparking side is something I leave to my spark, big thumbs up for your electrical knowledge.

    I think separating the new boiler from the old system is a master stroke. It makes perfect sense when you explain it. The plate heat exchanger theory and fault finding was very interesting and useful to know. Great job.

    I think the fault finding videos are a great addition Pete. I didn't know about the 5 degree difference between the primary return and hot outlet. Something I'll be looking out for going forward 👌🏽

    Fantastic job by the original owner/designer. Reminds me of my old woodwork teacher, he built his own house and had two folders containing plans, wiring diagrams and positions of isolation taps etc.

    Fantastic workmanship, great to see you helping the nurse out, just what she would needed while working hard keeping us all safe etc, I still do not understand why you would get any hate mail PB, you spend a huge amount off your time for very little gain to yourself making these videos to help others, and I must say your video and explanation of each and every job you do are with doubt the best on any site m8, so thank you and keep up the great work
