Nice and now delete muffler too and thats the right sound or use small 2x mufflers
I did the same thing on my n/a 3 it sounds amazing
What do I do to fill in the place where the resonator was? Like piping or something?
@@jmb_assassin4540 Just a regular pipe, either welded on or clamped on.
Hey I know I’m a few years late here but I’m looking for some info. I’m doing a res delete on my gen 1 speed 3 and I’m wondering the size/length of pipe I need and also which resonator you recommend removing. Also I recognize brookswood/Langley in the driving clips 😂
There's only one resonator in the 2nd Gen Speed's, i'm not sure what the size is as the shop just replaces the pipe for you without question
Colton what did you replace the resonator with? I am planning to remove the muffler of my 2008 Mazda 3. Do i just get a piece of pipe and weld it in to replace the removed muffler? It is gonna be the first mod on the car so hopefully I can get some advices from you! Thanks
It's a replacement pipe welded in place.
(Updated) I have a 2008 Mazda 3 2.0L, basically I have 2 cats, 1 resonator, and 2 mufflers. Yes I actually have all that. I deleted my 2 mufflers and I’m now considering getting rid of the 1 resonator because it just isn’t loud enough. Should I do it or will the resonator delete be way to loud. ** UPDATE, I did what I listed and wow does it sound great cat backs. Not to loud but if you do want it loud, it definitely can at those high RPMs, definitely recommend
You only have one muffler on the stock system, so by chance you either deleted the cat or the resonator or just the cat and resonator and not the muffler haha
I just got a stock 2008 Mazda 3 2.0 as well. And it’s my first car so I am absolutely loving it. Do u mind giving me your email so that we can do some sharing on modding the car?
Stonny right on, yeah of course. Do you have an Instagram? I already have a few videos and pictures on there of what I’ve done to it so far. If not I can just give you my email
@@Ryan_ringler What's your instagram profile mate? I don't post my car on instagram, well at least not yet as I said I had just got it recently. But I will for sure check yours out mate. Kindly leave me your profile!
Stonny my Instagram is just my name, @ryanringler
I noticed ur car does the same idling as mine. It pops and gurgles when its just idling. Any idea why?

👍
Have a 2012 Mazda 3 with the 2.0, not looking for something insanely loud, but would like a little more from the exhaust. Should I go for a resonator delete? Could I put in a piece myself with clamps instead of welding a pipe in?
Take the muffler out & keep the resonator, clamps will leak just have a shop take care of it for $100
I deleted my muffler and it wasnt nearly loud enough so I had them remove my resonator and it sounds like a Subaru at low rpm, but still not loud enough I think I'm gonna remove the catalytic converter
Noooooooooooooo 😂
how loud do you need it.
Just take the the whole exhaust system out
I just did a resonator delete on my 2010 speed 3 with a CS Short ram intake and HKS BOV and it doesnt sound any different than stock... why???
Because of the big fish tank muffler haha
Removed my muffler and resonator on my mazda 3 2011 and I think its not enough loud for me. Thinking about removing my cat. Any inputs/advice on removing the cat?
Cut and weld.
Does ur Mazdaspeed make a bubbly nosie when ur in park or when u stop at a stop light? Like on the right side of the hood
Can you further explain the bubbly noise? If it's on the right side of the hood, I fear it might be your timing chain hitting the valve cover.
I wish i can upload a video of it here on the chat, but the bubbly noise only happens when im parked in a driveway or if im stopped in a red light. However when I accelerate the noise goes away for a little but sometimes the noise occurs when I am driving as well. I open up my hood while the noise was occurring but did not seem to find where was it coming from.
I have a 2010 Mazda 3 i by the way.

@@cooldude2046 Honestly, my first thought is vacuum leak or exhaust leak. I'm not too sure. Any check engine lights? Any modifications?
What's the most affordable way to give my 2013 Mazda3 a deep growl exhaust sound? I was planning on doing a resonator delete but I've seen mixed opinions on that when researching this...would that be my best option or no? Also, does the 2013 Mazda3 have 1 or 2 resonators?
Is it a GT (2.5) or a 2.0?
@@ColtonRichter 2.0
@@brandonschaefer9276 I believe you have the same setup as my sedan, so if you can, muffler & 2nd cat delete
Ok this is probably a very stupid question lol bare with my ignorance cuz i don't know anything about cars and most of the videos i see of these mods seem to be for the mazdaspeed or at least manual cars but can this be done to a basic ass 2011 automatic mazda 3? Love the look of my car but would love it even more if it sounded more aggressive like all the ones I see on these videos 😁
I wouldn't advise deleting your resonator from a Mazda 3, very very bad haha. Most MazdaSpeed 3 stuff won't relate to Mazda 3, unless interior and exterior bits.
@Colton Richter why?
how long was the resonator, just wanna know how long of a pipe to get
18"
Do u have a res delete video for ur Mazda 3? If so can u send me a link to it
No, it's a full catback. Multiple videos on RUclips about resonator delete's on the Mazda 3's
2 shops in Calgary are telling me.$300- 350
That's crazy
what causes power loss, exhaust or resonator delete?
You’ll lose top end on a muffler delete with any of the non turbo models, the mazdaspeed 3’s you won’t have a loss at all but you’ll also get nothing from it, just sound.
What inch pipe did you use to replace the resonator?
2.5" I think is stock?
@@ColtonRichter okay thank you, that’s what I measured.
Would you recommend a mps 3 for a first car?
Yes & no, can be expensive to maintain and might cause you quite a few problems.
Would you recommend this or muffler delete
Either one, costs the same. Your opinion!
hows the drone?
Nothing noticeable!
I spy with my eye, some Brotella T6!
You're fantastic 😂❤
Colton Richter haha was I right?
Of course ;)
brotella T6 goes in my CBR!
Should this be done with a Mazda 3, 2.0? I want to hear SOMETHING when i’m driving (usually with the windows down). For six long years, i’ve heard nothing. I’m not lookin to increase power or be a cop magnet either (California). I just wanna hear something. I think it’s an important part of true driving: to actually hear the damn thing, at least a little bit.
Muffler delete, don't touch your resonator in your N/A Mazda 3!
Thanks for gettin back! I was just thinkin: suppose I put a Porter muffler on there: would it sound throaty or farty?
Couldn't tell you, never heard of
@@ColtonRichter why do you say don’t touch res on na 2.0? loss of torque?
@jack tomis yeah, why not?
back pressure??? pfft
If anybody still here do you know how if there is any *droning inside
You mean droning?
@@ColtonRichter yess
@@elsachi1334 There's maybe like 10% droning inside, not even noticeable
@@ColtonRichter you're the real G, thank you for taking the time to answer back 💪
