Mufflers quiet down all that sound but removing the resonator makes it all the more raspy because it has nothing to turn down all that sound because the resonator is like a chamber that cancels out the unwanted frequencies in the exhaust the best it can that’s why I don’t understand why people like no resonators cause it makes a huge difference
I’m not gonna lie, I put two 18” resonators on my 2014 mustang, and it silenced it SO much. No cats and Flowmaster outlaws. Took the sound almost entirely down to stock. Sort of crazy...

You get the louder volume under hard throttle without the drone. That’s what I have on my car and it’s perfect. The pipe going into the resonator on my NA Subi is 2.4 inch but coming out is 1.75. I can't picture it as free flowing. I will probably put a glasspack type resonator in.
I still have a cat installed but it blew out ages ago. Recently I did a muffler delete and replaced it with straight pipe and a 30° bent pipe. Sounds awesome with just a resonator. I don't notice any drone on the highway.
On my g35 I have it straight pipe with magnaflow resignator its just the perfect amount of sound. Where I can still stay lowkey and not get pulled over.
When I'm buying an aftermarket exhaust system I prefer a tuned sound without all the drone and rasp. I’m contemplating doing a resonator delete aswell, the shop said a resonator delete will make it even louder but I might get a lot of droning so I’m really not sure what to do. I just want a louder car lol! Any suggestions?
See, I see you say the resonator deletes drone, I say the mufflers do. Straight piped my v6 impala and sometimes I couldnt talk on the phone cuz it was so loud. I personally feel like drone would be less on a res delete rather than a muff delete. Like on the VW GTIs
I cut out my resonator, replaced it straight pipe and left my stock muffler alone on my 08 Grand prix 3.8L V6. It sounded sick. Nice rumble without that obnoxious loud turd sounding farts.
Can u explain the overboost for the RS. Obviously means that it is able to produce more psi for limited time. 1. What conditions need to be met to activate over-boost? 2. What is overboost function on Cobb ap n does it require different conditions to activate? 3, What are the main changes that Cobb ap does to RS?(shift buttons up n down happen at a much lower rpm.)
It depends on the car if it is NA or Turbo/Super charged. NA engines need the backpressure that the muffler and resonator make. On the other hand charged cars dont need any of that, they actually gain hp from straight-through exhausts.
I have a question I have a 2016 focus sedan I straight pipe the resonator but I gave it a magnaflow muffler and whenever I start my car it doesn’t sound as much should I like replace my magnaflow muffler onto my resonator and straight pipe the muffler?

I have question. I bought a muffler with remote controlled bypass valve to make the exhaust sound louder for my 2009 escape v6. But the muffler guy told me there's no space for the new muffler because its bigger than stock so instead they put the new muffler to the resonator. So the new muffler is my new resonator. Now i notice after the installation my gear changes a little bit delayed from 2.5-3k rpm. Not like before where it shifts at 2k rpm. On the normal drive. Though i got the growly sound that i like when i open the valve. So do i need to have the ecu tuned for the changes or the ecu will learn to cope with it?

I’m not sure which is why so when I got to the exhaust shop. I want the least drone & louder. But I don’t know which to tell Them. The terms are confusing me at this point lol
iPrefer HEMIS lemme explain it like this the muffler quiets down the sound while a resonator tones down the frequencies of the exhaust so it’s more bearable 😂 essentially keeping the resonator will keep the sound of the car there without all the unneeded rasp and frequencies of the exhaust😂
I put flowmaster pro on my car. I ask them to put it in middle. They didn't they put it at the end of pipe. I can't stand the drone sound. Question? Can I put a resonator in front of the flowmaster to correct the drone sound?
Deleting the mufflers so u get that exhaust sound but keeping the resonators to delete the droning is the perfect combination

It would be louder but you would have drone noise in the car from the resonater deleted. My gf car is a 2022 Toyota corolla se and she wanted bother muffler and res. Deleted. Let me say it is loud but kinda wish we just went with the muffler delete due too it being too obnoxious loud and cuz the warranty for her car. I mean we asked when we baught it if it would void the warranty for deleting the muffler and the dealer said it wouldn't. So hope we're good on both lol
@@ENDGAME191 cool thanks for all the info! I will definitely take all that into consideration lll
Lol
Doing research before straight piping my car. This really helps with knowing what to do.
Don’t straight pipe anything bro trust me, nothing sounds good straight
Lol. Depends on the car, anything with a big cubic inch motor sounds good with straight pipes. Civic and the like, no.
If my car has the GPF is it worth to remove the muffler? Or I won’t feel any sound difference?
What would you guys recommend me. I have a 6.2L V8 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. I just recently deleted the muffler and don’t like the drone in cabin … like feels like about to give me a headache…. What should I do
Now could you add both of these to the exhaust system?
I got a 2013 mustang (V8) and I had a shop do a muffler delete but the car still could sound louder and I feel like I loose a lot of sound in the higher rpm range, the car is at its loudest at 3000rpm but I’m only there for a split second or 2 so it’s really kinda a bummer.
Questions do you loss any torq or horsepower whit resonator delete?
I believe you can actually gain horsepower.
It depends on the car if it is NA or Turbo/Super charged.
NA engines need the backpressure that the muffler and resonator make. On the other hand charged cars dont need any of that, they actually gain hp from straight-through exhausts.
@@954FirebladeRR back pressure is a myth. Scavenging and velocity is needed
Do you have any insight on two mufflers versus one? I have an X5 with the N55 engine and considering one or two Valvetronic mufflers
I have 2017 Volkswagen Jetta se what should you recommend will be good for that car?
I have a question I have a 2016 focus sedan I straight pipe the resonator but I gave it a magnaflow muffler and whenever I start my car it doesn’t sound as much should I like replace my magnaflow muffler onto my resonator and straight pipe the muffler?
So i have an 02 accord and it has two exhaust and i qanted to make it as loud as possible but dont know what should be the move
Remove the 2 mufflers
recommended resonator for a 2.5 inch single exit exhaust?
I want to use 2 resonator will the performance decrease significantly?
thanks for the simple explanation! I was debating oh what to do for my challenger scat pack, dont want the droning, just want to be louder!! Looks like ill do just the mid muffler delete.
I got a Mazda 3 2.5l w a muffler delete and it sounds great
I have a 92 crown vic, I cut the stock muffler off and added a thrush muffler, sounds good. I wanna know if I cut my cats off and replace them with resonators will I keep somewhat the same sound or will it be obnoxiously loud???
I got a 2012 Jetta 2.0 TDI and it's my daily driver! It's running a Stage 1+ ECU TCU Remap and a BMC stock air filter replacement. Would you recommend I get a resonator delete, muffler delete, both, or just don't even bother because it's a TDI ?
Did a muffler and resonator delete on my 2014 Tiguan 2.0 tsi. Sounds awesome
i have a 1.8t 4motion tsi Golf Sportswagen '19 it has 3" catless downpipe, stock Res, and 2.5" pipe after the res welded on with neo chrome 4" tips 😂 and its loud on start up and full throttle, awesome on the highway no drone, and the kids never complain about noise,
thinking about putting a flowmaster 50 series delta flow from my old f150 on to the back to make it quiet again (scrapped stock muflers) should i make er quiet again
Ok so which is the muffler and which are the resonators? Middle VRS back . Big debate about this … is the muffler in the middle or are the muffler the ones before exiting at the back🤷🏻♂️
Muffler is big n square most times, resonators are mostly round n long..lol
I have a resonator delete right now only mod I bought the car with. Thinking I will get a resonated cat back with test pipes 👍
What modified exhaust would make the loudest noise on a 2013 Honda Accord coupe V6?
Straight pipe no muffler no resonator.. will sound loud and cheap.
What would you all recommend for a 2016 Silverado v6 to get a little rumble without sounding like a v6 chopping sound?
I recently deleted my muffler & resinator on my 16 z71 v8 5.3 adding straight pipes & shes sounds beautiful!!not sure if I do already but I can send u vid if you’d like!
@@showcasehardwoodfloors1473 so you don't have any drone? I have a 2019 Chevy 1500 Z71 It has the V8 5.3L I did a muffler delete with a 3-in straight pipe but I added in a super 40 mini race muffler and I have really bad drone was wondering if I removed that race muffler if it would go away or not just don't want to cut everything out reweld everything and then have the same problem lol I also noticed that I'm pretty sure I'm getting the drone when the truck is switching from V8 to V4 mode which obviously has its own other issues but I need to get a tune or something to disable that.
Any recommendations for a 2018 Camaro SS
Hey I have mustang with no cats but I still have muffler on the I was think about add resonator on the car will it quite down the car or will it take away just the drone and rasp?
Yes to both..
What type of set up would be ideal but not too obnoxious with a 2010 Dodge Avenger RT 3.4L V6? Resonator delete?
What would you suggest muffler or resonator delete for 2018 Max??
2015 silverado suggestions??
Hello.what is good for mk7 gti please.resonator or muffler ? For no drone and a good sound exhaust
Mid muffler, muffler, resonator. I have a 12 srt 300, I wanna get the exhaust done but I’m confused so much. I had a scatpack Charger I had a mid muffler delete and I loved it. I’m not sure which is why so when I got to the exhaust shop. I want the least drone & louder. But I don’t know which to tell
Them.
CleanMotorSport RacingAssociation Lol Thank you for that. I’m on board. Muffler delete will make it louder lol
iPrefer HEMIS haha yeah I honestly want to do it for my car 😂
CleanMotorSport RacingAssociation WHY NOT!
iPrefer HEMIS haha funds man
I put flowmaster pro on my car. I ask them to put it in middle. They didn't they put it at the end of pipe. I can't stand the drone sound. Question? Can I put a resonator in front of the flowmaster to correct the drone sound?
How do get a 2020 Chevy Malibu premier to sound and work like Audi sq8?
What should I do if I want a nice exhaust sound but at as close to stock db level as possible?
Absorbing mufflers (resonator) are better than straight pipes for power
I deleted both on my v6 .3.8 litre sound like v8 and a chopper. Is that bad . Just all straight pipes
I have resonators on my Camaro with longtube headers and flowmaster HP2 I get drone at 2k rpm cruising on the freeway
