I personally would go with the resonator delete, I like that deep rumble, but that muffler delete just has that raw hemi sound lol, like them both alot
agreed I feel like the resonator delete is a more clean sound while the muffler delete is a aggressive sound

If you delete both, get ready for headaches if you do any highway/interstate driving for more than 5-10 minutes. I have a 2017 Charger and removing the resonators was a bad idea. Such a bad idea, I had them reinstalled within a week (left the mid mufflers removed though). That engine drone is not only annoying but headache inducing after a while.

Forgot to compare drone on video but here's my take. Though the resonator delete isn't as loud as the muffler delete, it has more cabin drone at cruising speeds. Hope this helps!!
Seriously? I would have thought it would be the other way around. Is the cabin drone bad or just a bit louder?

@@daepoggers Cabin drone? That's the sound of the exhaust vibrating into the car, the low buzzing sound that's always there or sometimes there, depending on your exhaust mod. If the rear resonator is left on the drone is less pronounced inside making conversation, music, or phone calls easier to hear. Remove the resonators and the inside cabin "drone" multiplies. It's cool at first then it wears on you after awhile.
Dave Leary went in for a resonator delete and found out my vehicle doesn’t have one so basically I’m straight piped with cats and I’m still quite 😢😔
Just did this yesterday. I deleted both and can hardly hear any drone. It's still not loud enough for me. I'm waiting for my catless mid pipes and exhaust valve simulators to come in to make it louder. I've always had straight piped muscle cars and this one just sounds too tame to me with just a mid muffler and/or resonator delete.
Right to the point bro. Excellent. I have the mid muffler deletes on my 19 392, and it's not crazy loud in comfort mode, but when I switch to sport mode, it's and absolute monster.
So what do you recommend for 392 bro im a new owner and i wanna increase the sound a little bit

The cam never really does justice but ppl make it seem like it's a thin line mid muffler alone is quite but mid and rear muffler cut is crazy crazy loud but I want just a good amount louder than stock and aggressive but not obnoxiously loud

Great comparison video. You don't know how hard it is to find such a plain and simple video showing exactly what we want to see. It helped me determine that I'm deleting the mid mufflers and the resonators. I love the raw sound of the mid muffler delete. Might as well get rid of everything but the cats.
Nice comparison video. Everyone does mids. Been on the fence about it. Can’t say I don’t like the resonator delete better. It’s cleaner sounding throughout the entire range of acceleration. Back in the day Idve prob taken both off , think I’m just gettin old now 😂😂😂

Braeden Trebell maybe try an electric exhaust cutout right between he resonator and muffler for the best of both worlds.
I hear slight “muffled sputter” with the white one. I think the quality of the exhaust tone is nice with the grey one.

Both sound good to me! Can even hear that drone, all the way, on the low throttle drive by. I have my mids gone and like it that way. But, either way, sounds great. Thanks for doing this comparison. (2 years ago....but still, thanks)

The resonator delete sounds throaty and temperamental.. the muffler delete though sounds like a pissed off lion. Resonator sounds better at idle, muffler delete sounds better at everything else

My second post and I can't believe there isn't more - this is an excellent video! I was routing for the Mid Muffler to win but to be honest the mid muffler delete has a fluttering sound and clappy at high RPM. The rear resonator delete and a deeper, nice growl! 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
I may only have a V6, but I'm gonna do what I never seen in a video at least, at first I bought two flowmaster outlaws, was planning on doing a mid muffler swap with those two, but now opting in for the outlaws as rear resonators, and putting a flowmaster super 10, dual in dual out, because I really want to hear how it sounds, and see if flowmaster outlaws keep out the drone better than straight pipes at the rear end

I think deleting both, and putting small mufflers in the back where the resonators were, would sound best. Small Magnapacks, Ultraflos, FlowFx, or Bullets would work, they have the smooth core for a smoother sound. The stock resonator has almost an old school louvered glasspack inside.
Now you might be on to something here lol. I changed my exhaust to corsa extreme but I wanted to do a res delete for people to have a decent comparison.

I prefer the resonator delete. It sounded clearer and you didn't hear too much of the back pressure. What would you recommend if you swap out the mid muffler to a different brand? I had a flowmaster 44 last time and it rumbled. Thanks and great video.
I heard Flowmaster is pretty good actually. You can do an axle back exhaust if you want to keep cost down. I did a full exhaust though check my next video

Definitely prefer the resonator delete for me. Love the low tones of it. But I APPRECIATE the mid deletes, when I hear them pull away I get excited!!! Its just not for ME!

Some say you get more drone with resonator delete, some say you get more drone with a mid muffler delete. I’d like mine to be a deep, louder tone but I’d rather not get a headache on long trips or not hear the radio.
I got no resonators on my Australian Ford BA XR8 Falcon, just ordered straight pipes to delete the middle muffler.
Also go two Resonators on order for either side behind the rear tips.
This straight up made me know i made the right decision, great video mate.

I cut out the mids and put in 2 flowmaster flow fx . Took out the resonators and installed quad tips. Drone is what it is but I tell ya my Hemi sounds and runs mean af. Daily driver 2.all good fam. Do what you like is what I say. Great video BTW. Excellent comparison

For the mere fact that the mid muffler sounds like aftermarket rice burner, poplin then crackling
I just did the resonator delete on my 5.7 hemi today and it just sounds overall cleaner with a more aggressive tone. I do not get those wet fart sounds as seen with mid muffler deletes. A little more drone but still tolerable. But hey, to each their own.
Seems like a no contest to me. Louder doesn't always mean better. I can turn shitty music as loud as i want, and it still sounds shitty. The resonator sounds controlled and in sync with itself. Check out the first revs with the muffler delete. It sounds like an uncontrolled wet fart. Gross but it is what it is. Nice vid.
I removed the two mufflers and it sounds louder but it's not as loud as I want. I did add quad chrome tips. I have a SRT8 6.1L
The mid mufflers just keep everything so bottled up. I had my Hellcat for less than two weeks before I went to my buddies shop and deleted them lol crazy how much it really opens everything up.

Great editing. I hate when the point of the video takes forever to get to. I like the mid delete better but want to know more about the back flow he was talking about. I plan on doing the mid delete this summer on my scat challenger
I only have the 3.6, I originally left the mid mufflers and cut off the rear resonators. It had a great power increase but the drone was terrible. I ended up cutting the mid mufflers out running 2 Flowmaster 44's w/ the exhaust cut right behind the rear tires. Sounds pretty good, no more drone inside. It did seem to lower the horsepower a little bit tho, doesn't "feel/sound" as snappy

Resonator finna give you a deep clean sound that’s not too loud, mid muffler finna give you a loud but more raspy sound. In my opinion if you’re doing the mid muffler you might as well do the resonator too so you can hear those deep rich sounds.

Muffler is better. Keep the res on it for highway driving. But actually if you want it louder, delete the mid muffler and rear muffler too and keep the res on there and it will louder too but still the resonator will make it more tolerable with highway driving or just driving in general when you are not putting your foot down hard on the pedal. 🤣
Some back pressure is definitely good.

I kept the resonators on my 2014 Charger R/T. It sounds really nice. A deep throaty V8 sound. Sound like a muscle car.
How is that bc I didnt get that growl until I deleted the reso and b4 that my sound was real slight and that's the only reason I did the reso delete
@@rzivh5682 I have super 10 mufflers. But I decided to finally delete the damn suitcases as resonators and I got some bullets to control the cabin drone. Now I can say my Charger R/T sounds much louder, it sounds damn good especially when I floor it.
