I started subscribing to RUclips creators in 2012. I’ve seen channels start from 100’s of subscribers and grow to over a million. My friend, I think you are well on your way. Greetings from Houston, TX.
I'll wait until I take some astro shots before watching the rest, but the first 3 minutes was a great explanation of SNL and why stacking is important. Better for me to watch your videos on taking the images first., then I will return to this one. Thank you.
Hey, I came across a photo of the moon recently, it had prominent blueish coloration in some regions and dark red coloration in the others. The photographer of that photo said that blueish regions indicate titanium rich minerals and reddish regions indicate aluminum rich iron deficient minerals. He said that it was possible to get this representation of the moon by stacking photos and adjusting saturation. I dont understand how this can suddenly reveal the mineral composition, can you elaborate ?
The moon has different color due to the minerals, that's true. Very faint, but it's there. It's quite the challenge to get those to show, stacking is one of these. Others are special filters and lightpollution removal
Hey mate, I wanna ask some questions about astrophotography, So I live in bortle 8 but in an area that's dark. To give an idea of my situation, I can easily see Orion Nebula with naked eye, Sirius , the Orion constellation , and the other planets too . But if I use iso 1600 or more the photo is very bright , but if I use 800 or less then the photo is good but I feel that there's a lot more I could capture. Any tips for me ???
You live in a similar situation like me. If you REALLY want to get some good astro-images, you need to start taking long exposures up to 3 minutes. I don't know how dedicated your setup is, but untracked exposures won't be enough. If you don't want to dive fully into this, small tacking mounts like the iOptron SkyTracker and a Telephoto-lens will do. And i recommend a lightpollution filter, as stated in my lastes video about lightpollution :)
You said your photoshop wont accept the drizzled files, if you are getting the "not enough ram" error then i might have a fix for that. I solved it by first opening the photo in lightroom and then trough there opening it as a smart object in photoshop and that made the error go away for me.
Kappa-Sigma Clipping - does that remove photo files with trailing airplanes/satellites or does it keep the file but remove those pixels that make up the trails? Thanks in advance!
Greetings from mumbai, 🇮🇳 Im a hobbiest photographer & mostly share my photos on social media platforms. Im a begineer in field of astrophotography & doing my research on building my own rig😅 As of now... im quite confused between stellina & vespara by vaonis Vespara comes with 2MP camera sensor at 1500$ On other hand, stellina which comes with 6MP camera sensor costs more then double.. I want to know if that 2MP vespara sensor is sufficient for my requirements or shall spend extra for stellina..?
You will be much happier if you get our own gear together, compare different cameras and telescopes from different manufacturers, instead of relying on a product that leaves no room to do anything yourself
I'm new to this. So what I should do is take as many pictures as I can of one object, and if they are a little off, the program will line them up? thanks
The editing can take a LOT of time if the laptop is outdated. I edit on a 1200€ machine, and it still takes about an hour to stack. For imaging, nothing special is needed. Just go for a large battery, and, i would suggest: a minimum I3-processor or equivalent. My Laptop cost 550€
@@amaimani your best bet is to move your images to a desktop. anything with an i5 or greater, at least 8GB of ram and a dedicated graphics card. I personally yeld great results with a nvidia gtx 1070 founders edition graphics card (work horse) for photography edits, but you can buy an all in one at a local store. the problem with laptops are, heat which is the enemy of electronics. they are small and compact decives with little airflow and limited to hardware capabilities. processing can tank longer. photo editing or graphical demand is rough on laptops, but doable.

Sounds great🙂 More Astrophotography for others🤘
Stacking vs tracking? Can you do both? What about the foreground? Does stacking eliminate star trails?
you realisticily need to do both. there are dedicated apps for astro with foreground. no.

Great video!! Had a question I seen you had dark flat frames, how do you make them?
Take darks the same length as the flats

It only removes -out of ordinary- pixels in the images, not the files

The program will of course line them up, and being a little off helps to reduce noise
Gr8 work. What laptop do you recommend to use for DSO please?
Imaging or editing?
Both I guess as most programs are win based and free and a MAC is not best tool to use I believe.@@AstroAddict

Hi, why is my stacked output showing white instead of black?
That could be many reasons. I need some more input
Putting this one in the pocket for later when I actually get a clear sky.
How do you want to put a video in your pocket?🤔

Can i stack night sky in mobile
How do you mean, "in mobile"?
@@AstroAddict is there any mobile app for image stacking
I don't think so. I don't know of any
